From Winkelmatten it is a hike of around 1.25-1.5 hours to Findeln and an altitude difference of around 430 meters has to be overcome. In winter there can of course be snow on the path. The Enzian has a sun terrace, of course with a view of the Matterhorn. In winter it is also accessible via the slopes. Everything was perfect, we were spoiled with good service and a cozy table with a corner seat. I had the lime risotto, my husband had a quiche Lorraine with a green salad on the side, and for the aperitif we had a gentian plate with fine fendant. We'd love to come back.

We have been coming to the Enzian Restaurant for years and have always been very satisfied. Now there has been a change of hosts and they are doing it very well, so next time we come to Zermatt we will go to the Enzian restaurant again. It's definitely on the list. Keep it up!

Near the edge of the Findeln piste below the chapel, a small path leads a few dozen meters further to a magnificent chalet from 1910. You access the interior by crossing a pretty terrace, today unfortunately there was fog and no view. It doesn't matter because the interior is really very pretty, tastefully decorated and the welcome is absolutely super friendly. We ate a mixed salad and roesti with veal sausage and vegetables, we should have taken photos because it was magnificent and really very good. All at a super fair price. We will definitely come back! Many thanks, a great experience!

Wonderful place for lunch with the magnificent view of Matterhorn and nature below. It was a great place to stop for lunch between skiing. The view was surreal and the food was delicious and very generous. The warm risotto, with the sun shining down and the cool crisp air and the Mountain views just make the whole experience a downright epitome of a ski holiday.

Great quality on the plates, good selection of vegan dishes, small but fine wine list, very attentive and courteous service, the most beautiful view of the Matterhorn away from the factory-like Insta hotspots. The Enzian is our new favorite restaurant on the slopes!

We have been coming here to Enzian regularly for 20 years. Even in 2023 with the new owner, we still feel welcome here. The service and friendliness is outstanding. The food is lovingly prepared and delicious. A visit here is absolutely worth it! And the view directly of the Matterhorn..... there's nothing more to say about it.😉

Mega... Please be sure to reserve a spot, otherwise you'll probably be out of luck. The service is quaint, the food is a real treat, the view is directly onto the Matterhorn, a quiet and wonderful spot on earth, right on the slopes and yet somewhat hidden. I came there through a recommendation and probably wouldn't have discovered it otherwise. The next time you visit Zermatt, this location will be at the top of your to-do list

Epic views, great food and lovely people

We had lunch not once but twice here, that’s how good it was! Would highly recommend the chicken Karaage and beef tartaki. They even make their own bread! Enzian has a very nice vibe, and the waiters were very friendly! The view is gorgeous and the prices very reasonable considering the location and quality.

Very good food, very friendly service. The boss welcomes you. Even though it is international, it still has a lot of locals and Swiss among it and I think that's great. You are warmly welcomed by everyone. Be sure to reserve otherwise it will be difficult to get a place. Mega view of the Matterhorn. Also reachable on foot, approx. 30 minutes from Sunnegg/Kinderparadies. Walking is good, as it goes down, sticks are an advantage. We can only recommend coming back.

Such an amazing cozy restaurant with mouth watering food.. After a long hike finding a gem like this satisfied my taste buds.. The vegan burger is to die for.. Just once please give this dish a chance and you will love it.. The staff of restaurant is so friendly funny and kind.. totally unexpected true restaurant gem find.. We took a hike up here today because, according to Google maps, the Gentian is open. Now we are standing in front of closed doors. This is very annoying. It's probably not too much to ask to update opening hours daily.

A really lovely surprise in Findeln. Behind the somewhat spartan and simple outdoor seating, we met fantastic service and wonderful food. We chose to have Chef Julian serve us surprise dishes to share until we announced that we were full and satisfied and it was the best choice we could have made. The grilled aubergine in misu sauce was extra good. Good mix of meat and vegetarian. Really recommend!

The motto easy to find but hard to forget fits perfectly. We will definitely go there again very soon. It's rare to find such a friendly welcome and the same service. The food couldn't be better either. This satay skewer is simply delicious. Looking forward to the next visit!!!

All dishes are prepared with a lot of love - delicately seasoned and beautifully presented. Top kitchen! The homemade cakes are also highly recommended. On top there is a great location with a great view of the Matterhorn from the rustic, cozy sun terrace. Great atmosphere, not least because of the friendly service staff. Absolute recommendation!

For one glass of sprite with a slice of lemon and 2 leaves of minth, 8, 5 chf...They had it as home made nut it was not like this

Great gentian platter with lots of little surprises for the palate. For ginger lovers there is a corresponding hot iced tea. It's probably worth trying the rest of the menu too. Will definitely come back.

Really good vegetarian/vegan food. The Rösti burger was super tasty and a really big portion ! And their homemade Limonade is also really good.

I generally hike from Gornergrat to Zermatt 2 or 3 times per year, and Enzian is my go to place to stop and have a meal. The Rösti is the best I’ve had in Switzerland, and the other menu item are excellent as well. The staff is always friendly and talkative. And the view, well, you will have to see it for yourself. I usually spend about an hour or so here. I always come away refreshed and satisfied.

We hiked the 1500ft trail up from Zermatt, which was beautiful! This restaurant at the top was the perfect landing place. (I know there is a train the comes up here too!). Cold local beer and wonderful gourmet food made our day!

One of the best meals we had on a five day trip. The chicken sandwich (pictured( is absolutely delightful and very interesting. The spaghetti with tomato sauce was simple but good. The wait staff is fun and jovial. The views of the Mattahorn on the terrace are beautiful.

The perfect place to eat lunch right next to the ski slopes! ⛷️ The employees are very friendly, fast and do awesome work! The food is fresh and absolutely delicious 😌 I had the Veggie Rösti Bruger with salad aside. It was the best lunch I ate during my week in Zermatt 😋🌞

This has been our favorite meal of the trip so far! Gorgeous views. Delicious food - the rosti burger was a huge hit with our crew and the spicy gin cocktail was a treat. The whole experience was extra special because of our server Elle, whose effortless warmth, wit and efficiency kept us smiling the whole time!

10/10 - Enzian is an absolute gem in the Sunnegga/Findeln area of Zermatt, highly recommend it. An einem tollen Ort haben wir hervorragend gegessen. Der Walliserteller war eine Wucht. Das Brot traumhaft der junge Koch Julian kam zu uns an den Tisch, und hat uns über die Kunst seiner Brotherstellung erzählt. Die Desserts, der Rhabarberkuchen von Barbara und der schoggitraum von Julian, haben alles noch übertroffen. Wir kommen wieder.

Was soll ich gross sagen: Top Aussicht auf das Matterhorn, super Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wenn ich könnte würde ich öfters vorbei gehen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Der Besuch dort war der Grund, dass ich mich bei Tripadvisor nach Jahren wieder angemeldet habe. Das Essen war fantastisch und mit dem Wetter hatten wir einfach Glück. Würde jedem Einheimischen sowie auch allen Touristen empfehlen dem Enzian einen Besuch abzustatten und wenn es nur auf einen Kaffee und ein Dessert auf der Terrasse wegen der unvergleichlichen Aussicht ist. :-)

Ich kann das Enzian in Zermatt nur empfehlen. Nach einem langen Wandertag konnten wir uns bei hausgemachter Safran-Orangen-Limonade, Johannisbeer Spritz und hervorragenden Spaghetti aglio olio sehr gut stärken. Wir wurden in uriger Atmosphäre überaus freundlich bedient. Zum Nachtisch teilten wir uns den hausgemachten Südafrikanischen Karottenkuchen, absoluter Hammer! Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

War im Oktober da war wunderschön, hab super feine Spaghetti Bolognese gegessen und leckeren frischen Kuchen

ich war mit meinem Partner im Oktober im Restaurante Enzian, es alles geschlossen aber zum Glück hatte Enzian geöffnet, es gab Spagetti Bolonaise und frischer Kuchen, das Essen war ein Gedicht, wir können das Restraurante nur weiterempfehlen, sau sau geil Samantha und Patrick aus Bliesmengen

Wir waren letzte Woche am Sonntag in den Findeln, wollten eigentlich ins Chez Vrony. Dieses hatte allerdings zu. Wir sahen den Aushang des Enzian "Wir haben geöffnet, kommen Sie vorbei". Leider war dies die einzige Einladung oder Freundlichkeit während des gesamten Aufenthaltes im Restaurant. Die Gäste wurden angeschnauzt, das Restaurant hätte eigentlich schon zu, man könne froh sein, noch was zu bekommen. Die Frage nach der Karte wurde beneint. Gäste vor uns wollten etwas essen - es gab nur Spaghetti Bolognese. Was ja auch völlig OK wäre, wenn man den Gästen nett und freundlich erklärt, dass Zwischensaison ist und aus diesem Grund nicht das übliche Angebot verfügbar ist. War wirklich sehr schade, die Aussicht wäre toll aber wenn man so etwas von unerwünscht ist, stellt sich schon die Frage, warum man dann überhaupt geöffnet hat? Dann würde man dies besser belassen und die Gäste wieder empfangen, wenn sie auch willkommen sind. So etwas hinterlässt einen sehr faden Beigeschmack und auch den Eindruck, dass die Restaurants dies gar nicht nötig haben. Schade.

Wer in das Enzian geht... wird nicht entäuscht. Ein sehr Familiäres und zeitloses Bergrestaurant das mit seiner Schweizer Küche, den hausgemachten Kuchen und Limonaden begeistert. Wir hatten bei unserem letzten Besuch: Rösti mit frischen Pfifferlingen und den Safran-Orangen Spritz (Rösti goldbraun und knusprig... Pfifferlingen in einer leichten Rahmsauce mit frischen Kräutern und Knoblauch. Der Safran-Spritz.. etwas vergleichbares hab ich in Zermatt noch nirgends gesehen... nicht von dieser Welt)Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen... Grüße an das komplette Team Enzian. Trotz baldigem Ladenschluss wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Essen wurde frisch zubereitet und hat hervorragend geschmeckt! Dass darüber hinaus ein Großteil der verwendeten Zutaten aus eigenem Anbau stammt, hat uns sehr gefreut. Das Restaurant hat mit bestem Essen und einem top Service überzeugt.
