Escasano in Basel

A really big selection of delicious salads, bowls and dressings. The staff is totally friendly and gives you competent advice if you have any questions. A really charming location that is also cool in summer. I can only highly recommend.

Still the my favorite salad bar I have ever been to, having Portions that are actually filling and also very tasty. Unfortunately they seem to put a lot less effort into it since covid. Saving the chopping process isn't that big of a deal as everything is pre chopped, but not even taking the time to mix all the ingredients with the sauce was really disappointing, as that was what made them so great previously.

PRO: - Good portion size CONS: - No more chopping and mixing like before - expensive, 7.- extra for the 4½ cherry tomatoes, ⅛ red onion and 5 coriander leaves is almost cheeky. It used to be really good and is no longer recommended. It was never cheap, but I could live with the prices because it was really tasty and the service was and is always good. BUT a take away salad for 26.- is going too far for me personally

It used to be great, now it's nothing special... The salads used to be freshly chopped, which has been saved for a long time. Nowadays the salads aren't even mixed anymore, the dressing is just put on top. However, the prices have risen regularly and there are now actually no salads for less than 20 CHF. That's why my tip: at Migros or Coop next door you can get the same thing for a fraction of the price...

Escasano was always a tip for good, but not necessarily inexpensive, salads. The special highlight was the fresh chopping of the ingredients and mixing them in the large bowl. Both were saved - but the high prices remained. Unfortunately, the plus points for escasano disappear....

The concept and offer would actually be great, but the prices are absolutely not worth it. I am aware that we are in Switzerland and decent wages must be paid. But if you have to shell out CHF 21.50 for a Caesar salad as a takeaway, then that's almost usury. I would like to visit more often, but unfortunately not at these prices anymore. A pity.

The salads and sauces are delicious. The selection is also great and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the already sporty prices have been increased significantly again. Corona or not - more than CHF 20.- for a take away salad is simply too much. Too bad.

I like being here. Great selection, very tasty and friendly staff. The restaurant is somewhat hidden in the basement of the market hall at Digitec. However, the food can be taken up into the hall.
