Fouquet's in Lac Léman (VD)

Be careful, beware of scams! They display a Schweppes tonic for 6 francs on their menu, but they simply serve you a cheap tonic from another brand. When I asked for an explanation, they refused to give a valid answer and even refused to take the drink again. This is a pure scam, a blatant deception!

Unfriendly Edit: We came to the terrace. Half of the tables where empty. There was no sign on the stand saying we had to wait. So we choose a table. A waitress came, asking us if we got seated by a sufff member. After answering, we saw the waitress rolling her eyes. She came back, asked if we want to eat. We said that we want a dessert (crèpe, café gourmand…….) and of course a drink. She said: impossible, we have to go inside, in a rude manner! So we left.

Very nice place to spend some time with family or as a couple, very pleasant service as is the cuisine. The dishes are plentiful and very good. Our server gave us very good advice on the food and wine pairing.

Mixed experience... We ate very well however we had to ask for 3x the carafe of water after almost 1 hour the waiter (abdel) told us that there was no more carafe and put water in containers for us. beer glasses. But the worst!! I couldn't finish my plate because it was quite generous. The waiter (Abdel) insisted that I finish my plate and wouldn't clear it until I was finished. He also said that he doesn't like waste. I find this kind of remark really aberrant in relation to the establishment. Plus he waited behind us to make sure we finished. I really don't appreciate this kind of behavior from a server!

2023 October 1st or 2nd. Benoit our server was patient and gracious with our party of 9. We were well taken care of and did not feel rushed even long after our desserts and coffee. Much obliged.

Dinner at Fouquet with chef Pierre Gagnaire, -The menu with wine pairing is 200.- per person. We arrive at 7:10 p.m. We are offered a photo in front of a Montreux casino sign, in short we possibly want a photo with the chef since we are coming for him. We are taken to our table... in a small room with a view of the windows of the terrace backing to the room, without background music.... the atmosphere was much nicer at the entrance... in short We see Mr. Gagnaire going around a few tables but does not enter this small room which is none other than the closed part of the terrace... We are asked if we have the wine pairing, and we are served the cup provided with the dish. 15 minutes later the dish arrives, in short we still have water to drink. The second course arrives but no one serves us the planned drink which we receive at the end of the course. The 3rd service arrives, I ask for the glass at the same time, the waitress apologizes and says she no longer knows who has the drinks and who doesn't.... We continue our evening hoping for a better ending. The main course arrives, I ask for the wine again, the waitress apologizes again but generously gives us the loves. The dessert arrives this time with the glass! We thought we would have a good evening, but we were disappointed because even the menu was not up to the standards of a great chef. And dessert even less We preferred to have coffee in the games room. Leaving in the main room there was a great atmosphere and we were disappointed with the places available to us. I reserved the places more than 1 month in advance and were put aside.... the customer's head? We could see from the casino room, the chef with his brigade sitting at a table, a tour of the room would have been nice. We are regulars at large starred tables, I am a loyal customer of the casino but... I hope other customers were more satisfied. Le Fouquet has a nice menu and the food is good. In my opinion, this evening was more about filling your pockets than advertising.

The dinner was delicious. Good food, good tea and desserts.

We came during a live music evening, we were very well received, however the kitchen had some cooking problems this evening... And a big thank you to Benoit for his service he made us have a superb evening. ( once again ) .

We always come to this restaurant for Christmas Eve as well as for birthdays and each time we are very well received from the start of the service until the end. The maître d’ as well as the waiters take great care of the customers. The dishes are excellent. I highly recommend.

Have a mixed experience, I'm personally disappointed. Winner, big name in French gastronomy, but for me not up to our expectations. Very/too simple presentation, lack of freshness and finesse, veal chop not up to standard, small and garnishes nothing more Scallop salad and lamb's lettuce disappointing, too simple, not at all refined and monotonous. We had a nice table, average service. The positive point was the desserts, classic but very good, especially the crepe Suzette.

For New Year's Eve, they offer a set menu for dinner with music. They offer local Montreux wine together with the staples such as Pinot Noir and the likes. The assigned waiters vary on the speed of their service. If you're sort of unlucky to be with one, tough luck for getting the dishes on time. Past midnight we were still waiting for dessert. Music tended to drag, moreso being live and not so energetic.

Love the place & the atmosphere. Other than that, nothing is special! Food & service were below average. Never going again:)

I came with my mom, we had a great time, the service was very pleasant and friendly. The dishes were delicious. We will definitely come back.

Catastrophic service experience: the room was far from full, but priority was given to collecting empty tables rather than serving our dishes which all arrived cold. We had to ask twice for a wine list to order two bottles for the table long after having been served starters which were already all consumed before the cards arrived. No snail forks (“sorry they all steal them!!”) but mini crab forks (even though the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne is right next door!! But who cares?? It's f… Fouquet's!!) to eat snails in their shells.. I ask what the “vol-au-vent” contains (to find out if it contains offal or not. The “maitre d’” replies “just small vegetables”. When it’s time to serve me he arrives with the plate, telling me that supposedly “they changed the recipe today and it contains veal”, no problem for the veal, I kindly replied no problem (even though he had already put the plate down for me ) imagine if I had been vegetarian this kind of service? He should have come to see me before serving to tell me that there was this or that in the dish and not serve it directly to me in my place. Moreover the dish contained mainly chicken and much less veal (and certainly sweetbreads and not veal), while admitting that it was delicious! Our desserts presented in advertising trails with “control” desserts were served to us with a half hour wait (because they had to defrost them). On the other hand, we never forget to show us a little sign on the table at the end when we have paid to remind us not to forget to recommend us on Trip Advisor!!!!!!! Which I consulted and the reading blows my mind. In short, don't go there. Despite the quality of the food which was quite decent.

Very friendly welcome by the staff (Brigitte and Chieikhou). We had reserved a table for two people, specifying that we had a small dog. We really had a delicious time at the Fouquet’s restaurant. From the service to the dish, Mr. Benoît, our server, took great care. Thanks are also due to the chef, we had a great time and we can only recommend a meal in these places.

Terrible service, I think you have to get a bottle to be considered. I had to wait 15 minutes for a carafe of water and the same amount for our table to be cleared. To flee. The quality of the cuisine is average but passable at this price.

Attentive and professional welcome, even if sometimes it is more of a veneer than reality. Good dishes with good products, but their price is clearly too high. Surely one of the rare places in the world where you can taste a leek vinaigrette for 28 francs. We pay for the reputation of the name, but we pay too much for it, the proximity to the casino perhaps... Nice for the piano bar atmosphere, the jazzy decor and the atmosphere of the casino on the floor below. People over 1m90 must avoid the low ceiling parking lot otherwise they will be scalped.

We loved the experience of a beautiful dinner in a sophisticated restaurant inside the Casino in Montreux. Great service, diverse dishes, and even the Chef's suggestion with a menu of 3 different dishes at Chf 49. Accompany with wine as suggested by the waiter. In addition to the sophisticated interior, beautiful chandeliers, you can stay in the outdoor area with a beautiful view of the lake. To finish, that crepe suzette, with syrup specially prepared by the chef, finishing with cognac, flambéed in front of you to start savoring the aroma before tasting it. The Best!

The cuisine: the grilled duck foie gras terrine, frozen with Johannisberg, the exceptional presentation and so good. For me as a main course: grilled beef fillet heart, spicy cabbage and sweet onions. Champs Élysée Apple corner street sauce, perfectly rare cooking, tasty and tender in the mouth. My wife enjoyed grilled lamb chops with garlic and lemon thyme, mange-tout au jus. Which she found simply delicious. For dessert: the selection of the artisan ice cream maker. For me, the Exotic cut/red fruit cut, a treat of freshness. For her, a scoop of coffee ice cream The setting: exceptionally beautiful on the terrace. Recommended for all those with a sweet tooth.

The kitchen did not live up to my expectations. The foie gras was a little too salty for my taste. The sea bream doesn't have enough flavor. And the raspberry dessert was a little too sweet, it becomes a little difficult to eat without drinking.. The atmosphere was great as my table was far away and quiet. We had the seasonal menu of your choice with starter-main-dessert + glass of champagne included (foie gras terrine, beef tartare and strawberry/basil tartlet). The cuisine is tasty and the setting very pleasant. Although there was a wait time between dishes; It wasn't disturbing and the servers were very friendly. I recommend Fouquet’s Montreux!
