Frascati in Zürich

It took 25 minutes to serve a beer with the wine glass. We had to ask 3 times if we could order. Despite everything, the atmosphere is nice.

Waited 1 hour for service, after placing our order we waited another 40 minutes. The food didn't taste good at all, it was very bland.

Disastrous experience. Food didn't come, service doesn't speak German/English. Terrible

Uiiii no, no one can say three sentences in German. Service catastrophic. In Switzerland, in such a location, with not the cheapest prices, you would expect a service that can greet, serve and advise properly in German. If I want to have the card thrown away, I can go to a snack bar and get full for less money, as well as the ignorance of the service, how often can you walk past customers and ignore them? It's just not what it used to be, it's really bad, there are so many other restaurants that you can't hold a candle to anymore. And please teach your employees what a bowl is. Your employees are probably completely underpaid, that's why no one speaks German, they can't help it, the fish usually stinks from the head.

Was there on Sunday evening. You'll be happy to find an open restaurant in Zurich. Keyword “shortage of skilled workers”. At Frascati the service staff tried very hard, one youngster had his first day, okay. What was not okay was the obvious refusal to work at the pizza oven. Not only was our pizza put together carelessly, there were also complaints at the two neighboring tables. As far as I know, the Frascati belongs to the Molino chain and has a certain flagship function. You simply expect more.

I thought it was a shame that you couldn't sit outside on a Sunday afternoon with the sun shining. Otherwise very sweet! Perfect for your next date!!!

A place of joy but I also see the chaos of the service force. Unskilled, untrained, underpaid? No German, no dialect, no Italian? At least our waiters/waiters. Food top! It's a shame it's not like it used to be... we'll only come back when it's like it was before the pandemic. We otherwise know the Molino Group differently. 🤔

The coupe was OK. Nothing earth-shattering. But what makes me angry is that you get a small one and get charged for the big one. Up until now we have always enjoyed being guests.

The food is always very good. Unfortunately, on our last visit it took a really long time until we were served. The coffee at the end came about 15 minutes before dessert and we also had to order a second bottle of water twice. For the price we expect top service, which unfortunately is not available at the moment.

When one wants to eat a good portion of Pasta or an excellent Pizza at a beautiful table in Zurich, I do not hesitate to recommend Frascati, where I and my family ate in a very comfortable atmosphere and with unsurpassed service. 100% recommended.

Great gastronomy with a large selection and clear labeling if you have to pay attention to lactose or gluten. We'll definitely come back.

12/30/23 3:55 p.m. - Just wanted to have a coffee in the afternoon. After waiting for 15 minutes, the gentleman showed us a place in the far corner that we couldn't get to with a stroller and he then said that everything was full even though over half of the tables were free. It seemed like he didn't feel like it. Left the restaurant again

Excellent experience: we were here for Christmas lunch and we chose the Christmas menu consisting of homemade tagliolini with truffles, an excellent fillet with a side of spinach and bran peppers accompanied by a prawn and shellfish sauce and to finish a good tiramisu . The Barbaresco wine we chose was excellent and the service was very quick and friendly. Excellent view of the lake. Highly recommended

Basically the quality of the pizza was good, but it was really over salted and almost inedible... The wait for the first beer was canceled at the service... even if you have to report after only 5 Calanda beers, sorry, no more bottles to hold, not ideal But the starter, bruschetta, was formidable...

Comfortable and very elegant environment

I had an average experience at Frascati Zurich. The food was decent, not exceptional, but the service was nice. The restaurant boasts a good location, adding to its appeal. While there's room for improvement, it's a reasonable option if you're in the area.

We went there for lunch and were a little dubious about choosing an Italian restaurant in Zurich but we immediately changed our minds. We ordered spaghetti with seafood and pasta with meat sauce: the pasta is very good, cooked just right, the prices are Swiss... Also worth mentioning is the very helpful staff

Beautiful setting, great staff, delicious food. The only downside is sand in the seafood pasta molds. It can happen but the prices are high so you expect an impeccable dish.

My girlfriend and I had reserved a table for 5:30 p.m., got there and had to wait 20 minutes until someone came to take the drink order and since it took so long, we ordered the starter and main course straight away. Because we didn't feel like waiting that long again until someone came again. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and then another drink was missing and it took another 10 minutes. Our starter (Bruscetta) arrived after 20 minutes and then we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Before that we asked the waitress how long it would take for our food to arrive but there was no answer, just an arrogant look and we never received any feedback from her. She then walked past us 10 times without even looking at us. After 20 minutes I decided to ask another waiter where our food was because we had already been waiting for more than 45 minutes. He said he would check and came with our food after almost 20 minutes. Neither the arrogant waitress could speak German nor the other waiters. I think it's cheeky to have such service staff in a restaurant right by the lake. And as a note, there weren't many in the restaurant! And the service was terrible and the food wasn't really good either, even though I was starving. If I could I wouldn't even give it one star. One piece of advice to you as a restaurant owner, please change your entire team because that is a complete disgrace.

The food is ok for the price. O. The service employees are again very rude and sometimes arrogant. If I had only had this experience once, I wouldn't be sharing this here. However, it was my 6th visit… This restaurant used to be top. Today I won't go there even if I'm invited.

The focaccia was very tasty and so was the antipasti. Well the service is underwhelming, I agree with the other reviews. The toilets were not clean with missing toilet paper and the remaining paper was spilling out of the wastebasket. So toilets haven't been cleaned for a while. Although the location of the restaurant should be lovely, it somehow has a gloomy atmosphere. Not to forget, Frascati belongs to the Molino group, but unfortunately I don't see any difference in the upper class. So, I'm not coming back.

The food was ok, but the service really wasn't good. The staff seemed unmotivated and walked past our table at least 100 times without even looking up. There was a lack of bread and an extra plate for the mussels, and we sat with empty plates in front of us for at least 45 minutes while the service staff ignored our table several times. But the main thing was that the three of them set a table for the next day. No wine or dessert was asked. I would have even been willing to spend more money, but it seemed like they had no interest in serving us. Really really not good. Unfortunately. More training courses for staff are hardly possible. Very good overall. There are many complaints about service in these reviews. We went on a Tuesday in September at around 6pm, when it was at 25% capacity or so, but the service was excellent. The food was also very good (and reasonably priced, especially for Zurich). We got the lemon risotto and spaghetti ala carbonara, and both were very tasty. The view of the lake from the outside patio was also very nice.

We had a reservation for 5 people, but were simply told there was no space despite the restaurant being almost empty. When asked why our reservation was confirmed, we were told they didn’t care and there was no space. Rude, lacking manners, arrogant. Definitely not recommended. Unmotivated staff. Even the owner/manager was very rude. I have no idea how businesses like this operate in 2023

Disastrous service. After 40 minutes of waiting, we weren't even asked for drinks. Occupancy was good, but not excessive. The waiter laughed back stupidly when you tried to speak to him and just walked past without listening.

The service at the restaurant was incredibly arrogant and unbelievably rude. We received a confirmation for our dinner via SMS, but they acted as if they didn't care about our booking, ultimately ruining my birthday. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there; instead, I suggest going to McDonald's.

We waited over 30 minutes to at least order a drink. When we spoke to the waiter, he ran away and laughed and showed us with his hands that we should wait. The table behind us has already left and so have we after 35 minutes without ordering. Restaurant was half full and the service people were a disaster. I would work on managing the staff.

We were there 15 minutes ago. Outside, 75% of all seats are empty. Instead of just sitting around, we went straight in and asked if we could sit outside for a drink and dessert for 15-20 minutes. In fact, we weren't allowed to drink or eat dessert because there were few staff, there wasn't enough food and all the seats were supposedly reserved! We just wanted something to drink! I'm not surprised that you have an average rating of 3.8! We even offered to stand up when the customers came!

We spontaneously wanted to drink and eat something here. The aperitif drinks (one of them a simple beer) were apparently very freshly prepared, as we had to wait a long time. Luckily we were able to enjoy the wonderful sunset at the same time. At some point we started to get hungry but here too the attention didn't really seem to be focused on us, while others who came much later were already getting food. So we decided to have our meal at another restaurant.

The food it was amazing.The service was excellent.I can say that they made better food than Italy!! You can enjoy your food infront of the sunset of the Zyrich lake.Simply amazing!!!

This ain't it. The service is nice but unprofessional and unbearably slow. Not a single order was delivered correctly, it was despairing. The location is really casual and gives the otherwise very bland and characterless restaurant a certain charm. In my opinion the food is bland and unauthentic.

The pizza was cold and unfortunately the employees were also very unfriendly in the middle of Zurich I was forced to speak in English because the waiters don't speak German, only English, I ordered spicy twice for the pizza but unfortunately it wasn't served to me.. I think it's a shame such a nice restaurant but no organization, I had to wait 30 minutes for the bill :(

If Christa Rigozzi had seen this pizza she would certainly have been disappointed. What a shame for 32 CHF. I've had this pizza very well made in many other Molinos. The truffle oil didn't come either. The tiramisu, on the other hand, was perfect and huge.

Very nice restaurant right on the lake. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly and nice.

Nice ambience and good house white wine, but a piece of meat with salad the size of a child's portion for CHF 33 is simply a disgrace. The staff responded well and brought us an additional amount of salad, for which we are very grateful. However, the portions that are too small seem to have a system, which is why we strongly recommend a revision of these dishes and cannot recommend this Molino restaurant.

I ate at Frascati with 7 other people and this was the first and last time. We had to refill the Prosecco ourselves and waited over 1 hour 30 for our food. Almost no one ever came to our table to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. The staff just shuffled around bored. The food itself was good. The pizza that I tried from my colleague was really tasty.

Good Italian restaurant, I took a platter with cured meats and buffalo mozzarella, really good Italian products and I let them decide on a glass of red and they got it right. I gladly left the tip. The waiters were friendly and quick. Well done

On July 28, 2023, we once again visited Frascati Molino, which we have always appreciated, be it because of the ambience, the food, or the service. But what we experienced that evening reminded us of the hidden camera show: Thanks to a very young, friendly employee, everything started well. The mineral water we ordered was served quickly. However, when we were choosing the wine from the iPad, a waiter intervened, who from then on was characterized by Italian cheerfulness at the wrong time and talkativeness. A change in service may have been the reason for the interference. He took the order. The starter was served but without wine. The starter was cleared away, but the main course was not served. Repeated requests for the wine were unsuccessful. Instead of taking care of our needs, the waiter preferred to chat and laugh with the guests and colleagues. Only when we pointed out that we would like the wine before the main course did the waiter go to the order register. Another 15 minutes passed until the wine was served, the order was forgotten, as was the accompanying apology. The same process with the main course: everything was served all around our table, not at ours. An hour after the starter was served after repeated requests, but the cutlery was missing Instead of an apology, there were incomprehensible jokes. It is understandable that we asked for the bill after the main course. But it didn't work here either, the waiter was too busy chattering. Finally he came to our table, not with the bill but with a dessert recommendation, which we rejected by asking again about the bill. Another full quarter of an hour passed and the tables around us emptied. Only when I asked the waiter whether we could leave the restaurant without the bill did he go to the cash register. As long as I can remember, this was the first time we didn't tip. As we left the restaurant, we would have liked to have reported the incident, discussed it and closed it, because we all make mistakes. But no one showed up, so no heartfelt apology, no thanks or good wishes were sent. The incident is now recorded here. It's a shame that an employee who feels like a "boss" and constantly chats with the guests can give a negative impression of the restaurant, the food was excellent.

Had house wine and vitello tonnato. Wine was okay, but way too expensive. Vitello Tonnato was very good quality, unfortunately too little and definitely too expensive for 34.-. If I hadn't eaten a basket of pizza bread during the 30 minute wait, I would have still been hungry. The waiter and waitress were extremely friendly and professional.

We got Fritto Misto and it’s was horrible - like leftovers from yesterday (((.

Good food but waiting time ruins it

Went with a group of 4. We ordered 1 pasta dish that wasn’t a fan favorite, 2 pizzas which were fantastic, and the beef filet which left a lot to be desired. We had to remind the waiter that we ordered a dish and drinks several times and never did end up getting our second glass of wine. Though they were friendly, it didn’t make up for the lack of attentiveness and some mediocre dishes. If you go, get a pizza. The Miss Italia was delicious.

One of those rather rare restaurants in Zurich where you can also dine al fresco. I like going here.

Good place and good people, should give it a try

I brought my relative from California to Frascati restaurant because the location is very good for tourists. We really enjoyed the food and was of good quality. The service staff (Sara and team) tried very hard to serve us quickly and friendly, which is not easy when the terrace is full. The salad was fresh and beautifully presented. Pizza/gnocchi and homemade pasta were also very good. An experience for the Americans because they are used to something different ;)

Very unfriendly staff. I was out by bike on Sunday, and I got there at around 10:45 a.m. and asked if I could get a coffee with a small snack. An employee told me yes, when I wanted to sit down, another employee came and treated me like the last one and said that it was still closed. That's what I call customer friendliness. I will definitely never set foot in this restaurant, nor will I recommend it to others.

Unfriendliest service ever. I have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and impolite. There are many better options in Zurich with a better service and food. Just avoid this place and go somewhere else, never again!

The service is great, the location is great, and the prices are correspondingly high. Unfortunately you are being ripped off, the portions are not what you would expect in a Molino restaurant. The spaghetti carbonara for 25 francs can be eaten in 3 minutes because the portion corresponds to a mini starter. Nice outside, but ugly inside. Unfortunately.

The food was anything but good. Cold tagliatelle with lukewarm and dried bolognese... The staff can hardly speak German. We had to repeat our order five times because the staff didn't understand the German language. It's a shame.. Such a good location, great view and then such service..

I can't understand the consistently negative reviews. We defied this and spontaneously went out to eat. Nice ambience inside and out, great friendly service and the food was super authentic Italian. Gamberoni and seafood were top notch, superbly prepared and impeccable quality. Gladly again. And yes the waiters were Italian, what a surprise.

Very bad service, long waiting time. We only received the starter after over an hour. The salad wasn't meant to be eaten. When we tried to speak to the cellar, they reacted very unfriendly, so we left the starter behind and got up. And the waiters didn't speak any German, let alone English. I will avoid this restaurant and do not recommend it...!

Often a fight for a place on the weekend, but the staff are friendly and competent. Service is also good. Food quality is good, as befits a Molino Group company. My recommendation.
