Salad in a glass 9.50. But it's not worth it. Way too expensive for 3 forks of salad. The only plus point is the view and location on the lake.

Wonderful location, but you can only pay in cash. You don't know Twint either. We feel like we have been transported back to the Middle Ages. Please move with the times.

The unfriendliness of the staff is made up for by the ambience of Lake Constance. The food is totally overpriced, the crispy cookies are full of bones. The drinks are overpriced... 5 francs for a small PET bottle of water, And all of this in a self-service restaurant.

This is a self-service restaurant. You can sit outside right by the lake. When you order your food you are given a number and it is announced over the loudspeaker as soon as the food is ready. The food was fine.

I was there with my sister on August 6th, 2021. 5.00 Chf for a mineral and cola bottle. 11.00 Chf for a mini bottle of wine. 24.50 Chf for 7 pieces of fish chnusperli and 1/2 slice of bread. (i.e. without fries) The salad in the amount of a yoghurt cup. 8.00 Chf for a beer. I stayed on the Cote d Azur for three weeks in 2021 and never paid so much.

Serve yourself here, right by the lake, just enjoy yourself and enjoy the evening.

The restaurant only takes cash. It's tedious, but it wouldn't be tragic, even if it's very unusual these days. When I had the order together and was surprised by the demand for no cash, I offered to leave my ID so that they could prepare the food while I went to the ATM to get money. But they didn't accept that and canceled the order. We drove home hungry to the more cultured Zurich and ate a sandwich at home instead. Nowhere in the world have I been treated so unkindly in the last 40 years. This may have been the case in the Middle Ages. But that's not enough. The website says you can reserve by phone. I had previously called seven times during opening hours over three days to reserve a table, but no one answered the phone. Overall, absolutely disgusting. We often go to Altnau at the weekend and would probably have eaten in this restaurant for thousands of francs over the next few years, but now it's clear: never again!!

Food is not commensurate with the price. So for a bratwurst with a few fries, 18.50 Fr. is too much. Sausage cheese salad is only a mason jar full. If it only tastes mediocre, even the beautiful view cannot ignore it.

The Schiff restaurant has a very nice view. For self-service, I think CHF 24.00 is more than enough for a portion of zander with French fries. The drinks are also very high for the price.

Actually, I don't know why I didn't discover this great place early! It's a small kiosk with a lot of selection of drinks and food! There are also croissants and delicious cakes! This place is ideal for a short break and is only a few meters away from the Lake Constance cycle path! Oh yes, it's all self-service and the food was ready very quickly even though it was very busy! I am thrilled and can highly recommend it

Ate well but completely overpriced. And unfortunately the food is not served well. Unfortunately, the lady at the checkout wasn't very friendly either! Small portions and excessive prices! You can't even refill the ketchup for the fries for free! I would pay the price immediately if it were the "standard" of the restaurant but you aren't even served anything! Nice view, but the price list is astronomical and completely misplaced!

I understand the critics who say that the portions are a bit small. I had a "hampfel" fries and 9 fish crispies. So I thought the reviews were justified. But... The fries had some kind of seasoning that was addictive and they were fried to perfection. Not soft, not too hard, just PERFECT. The fish crispies were slightly “under-seasoned” but very tasty in combination with the sauce. Again the size of the portion. Yes, you could eat a little more fries. Yes, one or two more fish crispies would have fit in too. But honestly, after this portion I felt pleasantly full, not overeaten. Since I don't know the purchase prices, I only complain about the price in passing. I think 24 francs is borderline for the size of the portion, but still just about explainable and acceptable. The location is simply relaxed.

A really nice experience for young and old. A place that cannot be missed when visiting Lake Constance.

Maybe they were just caught off guard.

Very nicely located self-service restaurant directly on Lake Constance. You can get there by ship or boat, as well as over land. Equipped with benches and tables, simple, clean and rustic, right on a meadow for comfortable, good, fine dining, right by the lake. The dishes, small ones such as bratwurst or sausage salad as well as other things, are very tasty and not overpriced considering the wonderful location. There is also a playground. There is also a small train station nearby. Pleasant coworkers

A great location, right on beautiful Lake Constance. The food also tastes very good, even if I still have to get used to the Swiss gastronomy prices (very tasty bratwurst in onion sauce for 17 francs). What bothers me a bit are the requests that number.... can pick up his food.

Great location right on the lake in Altnau. There is a playground for the little ones. You can dock the boat directly at the jetty and enjoy the fine dishes from the self-service restaurant. The only disadvantage is the slightly higher prices for a self-service restaurant. But it is definitely recommended.

Great atmosphere right on the lake with simple but good food and direct parking. Unfortunately the prices for self-service are too high (water 5 Chf and fish crispy with salad 23.50 Chf).

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch as we were biking from Konstanze. They had several options for lunch and we chose the fish and ships meal. The taste and portion were great. We enjoyed the view by the lake. The service was also good and helpful.

Wonderful place right on the lake. In summer there is a wonderful garden restaurant with a view of Lake Constance. Delicious dishes from small snacks to full meals.

Ripped off! Cappuccino 4.80.-. But the great thing was the ice cream parlor: 1 scoop of coffee ice cream, a cream topping and a bit of coffee in it for 11.50! And all of this in a self-service kiosk with seating on benches on the lawn. No thanks, once and never again.
