Gaucho in Zürich

Excellent service, great wine recommendations and entrees were amazing... only problem was the Entreĉote was the toughest piece of boot leather I have ever eaten.

The place is really nice and cozy (but its really hot in there). We were given the menus 15 min after we sat down, another 15 min before ordering and then 30 Mon before the appetizers arrived. The gyros, sausage and Pulpo appetizers were really good. The steaks arrived almost 90 min after ordering, the meat was good, but nothing amazing, a nice taste of the grill smoke, not really tender. It's an ok steakhouse, not on the cheap and and really slow service.

Price/performance totally convincing! If you want to eat a good piece of meat in the city of Zurich at a decent price, then Gaucho is the right place!! We had the 300 gram loin and 200 gram fillet. The meat was perfectly prepared and the side dishes (baby potatoes and other vegetables), the starter plates were also great! The restaurant isn't too big and the atmosphere is very familiar, it's not loud and it's just very pleasant to eat there! We'll definitely be back!

Surprisingly good prices and taste! One of the best steak houses in Zurich. We had filet and ribeye - both were delicious. The waiting time of the meals were a bit long, but it was a Friday and full seating.

Price/performance is zero - fantasy prices. Cold food, small portions, cooking point not reached (rare instead of medium). Snooty unsympathetic owner. Does not tolerate criticism and becomes aggressive. Avoid this place!

The Gaucho definitely sets standards with its charcoal grill and high-quality steaks. The quality of the meat combined with the authentic grilled aroma gives the restaurant a unique touch that will delight meat lovers.

This was my top steak house 2023 (3 times), I lost a fortune there but was worth each dime. It is a bit hard to find, has a living room atmosphere. the menu is very small .. not much to choose .. but the meat was tasty and as tender as butter - a true delight! Service was good.

Sometimes too many guests for only 2 service employees. Food + quality was top. Minus point at Carajillo (espresso was mixed with a cheap Beandy [20.00 CHF / bottle]). Prices very high.

Decent Argentinian restaurant near Langstrasse. Ambience quite good. The food is okay, but nothing more. I was definitely hoping for more. Friendliness wasn't particularly noteworthy either.

Great! I rarely write reviews, but here it is more than deserved. Friends had made reservations for 20 people at the restaurant and everyone was very happy. Not only was the food great and served in a very well-coordinated manner despite the many guests, the staff was also very warm and friendly. They even left the restaurant open longer so that we could toast a birthday at 12 p.m. There were a lot of us, but that's not a given. As a vegetarian, I'm certainly not the restaurant's target group, but I also ate very well (Böniteller), and according to them, everyone else's meat was very good! The waitress even offered to put together my own veggie appetizer plate. All in all, although priced above what I would normally spend, I was very happy with the meal and the evening!

Meat culture at the highest level. When it comes to meat, Gaucho is the place to be in Zurich, it has to be 5 stars!

There was a misunderstanding regarding two wines of the same name (Collazzi); They accidentally brought us the most expensive of the two. Toni reacted very professionally and accommodatingly. Just a few days later, he paid me back the difference via Twint. Thank you very much, Toni. PS: The food is of course excellent and highly recommended!

What an amazing place for outstanding Argentinian beef and wine. We especially loved the variety of cuts and that the beef was grilled to perfection. The selection of wine is great; I would recommend the Californian Malbec as a good contrast to the Argentinian ones.

My steak was medium instead of medium rare and the vegetables were overcooked, it's a shame it could have been better with a little effort...

Reception in the restaurant was friendly, service (young lady) was quick and competent. The request for a somewhat quiet table was granted. Nice wine list with the correct price and performance ratio. The core competence, grilled foods & meat, on the menu visible in absolutely sufficient choice. Unfortunately there was a mistake when ordering; instead of the loin I ordered, I was served a fillet. There wasn't really an apology from the manager. On the contrary, from my point of view the performance was a bit tacky. Whether all three of us remained very friendly and correct. One of my companions is also a regular there. Well, you can't be likeable to everyone. Also OK. Last but not least: Since I didn't want such an expensive piece of meat to be thrown away in the worst case scenario, I ate it. The kale was a bit burnt and bitter. In general, I have to say that the quality of the entire service unfortunately did not convince me. We consumed very well: aperitif, starter, two bottles of red wine, main course, digestif, café. The total bill was 500 Fr. for three (!) people, at this level of service. We rounded up to 530 Fr. At the end I would have expected at least an apology or an offer of a coffee or aperitif, for I ate the more expensive piece of meat that was ordered incorrectly by the manager and served incorrectly and paid for without complaint. I'm not enthusiastic. For this reason I will not go to Gaucho again, nor can I recommend it.

The meat was spectacular. Follow the chef advice and get a rumpsteak at the cooking point suggested. The fat will melt enriching the flavour.

The steak was really the best I've had in Zurich so far. Minus one star for service, though - it was just too slow. It took us >10 mins to even get a menu, and we had to ask. Would surely go back, though!

We came back for the second time since we had a great experience on our first visit and it definitely was worth it! We called on the same day to spontaneously place a reservation and the owner was kind enough to make space for two person, since they were technically booked out that evening. The food as well as the staff were amazing!

The food was very good. We ate fillet, it was buttery! The side dish, rosemary baby potatoes with green Italian pepperoni arrostiti were just so good! Only, the portion of the side dish was small, is my personal feeling. The antipasti were also very good. The restaurant is well attended. Queues formed. We wanted to chat a bit after coffee. We were therefore discreetly offered a small table. The table should be free for the next guests. The coffee was on the house. Nice restaurant, pleasant atmosphere. We recommend.

The Gaucho is located in the middle of District 4 in Zurich and probably offers one of the best steaks in the city. The Argentinian restaurant offers the perfect mix of red wine and delicious cuts of meat. The Gaucho's garden is suitable for both romantic hours and discreet business dinners.

Danger! The boss there gets violent at the slightest criticism. Rate it.

For me, the Gaucho is one of the last institutions in Zurich. The restaurant itself exudes a lot of charm. The garden in summer is world class. The best meat in Zurich! Undisputed. Very, very good wine list and the owner & staff are just family :-)

Very nice and cozy restaurant with a nice terrace, the food is exquisite, really Argentinian flavor, if you want to eat a good 🥩 I recommend this place, I would return without thinking and we arrived by chance.

The food was okay, but too expensive (side dishes were charged VERY generously) and the meat was well above the desired level of doneness. However, what is not possible - after criticism was expressed, the owner became violent. No matter what, this must never happen and is absolutely unacceptable. Would have earned 0 stars.

The meat is always perfectly prepared and melts in your mouth. You can also enjoy a wine recommended by the staff and have good conversations with friends or customers in the private/family atmosphere. But the most important thing for me is the feeling of being a “guest”, I always feel welcome and am treated incredibly well. Unfortunately, you rarely see this kind of hospitality in Zurich.

Appalling! The starters were miniature empanadas with dried meat inside. Of course overheated! Not only was the chorizo ​​reheated, but it came almost cold. To ask for it to be resolved, we waited 15' for the waitress to appear. Then my husband went to the kitchen with the dishes. The steak was relatively good. They have 2 or three Argentine cuts and nothing prepared like we Argentines do. Excessive price for what we got. What saves it from giving it 1 star was the chocolate volcano. NEVER MORE!

Nice little restaurant and for Zürich standards not even overpriced. The menu choices are VERY limited however, especially when it comes to side dishes. If you have any special dietary requirements such as low carb etc.you will stay hungry or need to order a larger steak. The audience was quite peculiar too. Except for us, all most guests seem to have known each other. Like some sort of gang gathering. I wouldn't visit again but it was a quite unique experience.

Gaucho deserves at least 6 stars, beef fillet of the finest quality, perfectly fried, rare as in a picture book, fantastic smell of smoke, great wines and very friendly service, an absolutely perfect experience... I'd be happy to do it again

Small but nice! Very friendly & courteous staff. The fillet pieces were of excellent quality and grilled to perfection. Upon request, I received a supplement of the excellent supplement free of charge. The paanna cotta and the chocolate cake were excellent! Wine, coffee and grappa are also of top quality!
