We had to wait long for the food. Also the portions are crazy small for the price they charge. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

Small but very nice restaurant! Freshly prepared and very good food (there is therefore a bit of a wait). During our visit there was only one employee (or it was the boss herself). She was very friendly and tried hard!

The meal was absolutely disgusting not fresh and all concerned items were listed in the review. I understand this "restauranteur" would prefer not to have a bad reviews but it's much easier if you pay some attention to the quality of your food. I generally would not bother to write a review but this individual is arguing that items are not over cooked when it is plain to see it in the photo. And more importantly he thinks it's ok to charge over 100CHF for the order.

Nothing was authentic!!! Me and my partner were looking forward to eating. The lady was constantly on the phone and not attentive. The tables were sticky, the ginger syrup smelled musty. Peking duck was just warmed up and absolutely not fresh, the sauce was not Chinese but simple barbecue sauce. The rice wasn't even freshly cooked and was dry. We paid just under 100 for two menus. That was absolutely disappointing. Never again!!!! Absolutely not recommended!!!!

Unfortunately there were only 2 wontons in the soup even though the menu says 3. You also get the feeling that the heart and passion in the restaurant is missing.

Wow! Stopped in during the holiday market and had the best pad thai I’ve eater eaten! My husband and daughter were very pleased with their choices, too, from this small tea shop.

We had a super delicious lunch. And the teas were also of the best quality. We recommend. We know from friends that the bubble teas are also very good. Small but very nice restaurant/café.

The bubble tea is horrible. Told her Aloe Vera in Milk Black Tea is not normal but she didn’t want to change it… not sure what style this is but that was a waste of 8CHF

Unfortunately it took way too long - we had to wait for the main course for an hour. The menu looks great but the food looks totally different from the pictures. The fried rice with chicken was flavorless and the chicken satay didn’t taste like peanut or coconut milk at all, it was very watery. We expected more for this price.

08-05-23 5/5 delicious food! after staying in europe for days, i was starting to miss the food we had back in asia T_T the food made me feel like i was back home :) i loved the spring rolls and the beef fried rice !! recommend going here for authentic asian cuisine amazing service too ^^ the owner was very nice to us and the owner's daughter was very accommodating and eager to help ! waiting time was not too long either for 6+ orders would definitely come back here to eat if ever given the chance <3

The owner was very considerate, she accepted my family's orders even though it was already past their usual closing time and our server was very kind and entertained us while we waited for our food, it was nice to meet them. I loved the beef fried rice and the Vietnamese noodle soup with beef, which had tasty hot soup and soft beef. Definitely wish I tasted the other dishes too.

I got 2 bubble teas here today with my wife. First we waited in line for 10 minutes without being greeted. When we asked after 10 minutes of standing in your shop waiting where the toilet was. The waitress replied: Toilet only for guests. There wasn't much going on. There were only 4 children there who ordered their fruit teas. It was a very unhygienic shop. Ladles are simply stored on the dusty table after scooping the sugar syrup. The whole buffet was sticky otherwise. Lemon slices that were in the children's tea fell to the floor and ended up in the cup anyway. Unfortunately, our milk teas were the worst we have ever had. There were 4 ice cubes in there and the lady filled the rest with tap water until the cup was full. A good 1.5 dl of tap water. A simple green tea with milk in any other cafe in Basel tastes better. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store to anyone.

It clearly has too few staff. There is only one person serving and cooking at the same time. The map is too big for that. The waiting time was correspondingly long. The tables are not cleared for a long time, even if the guests have long left, which reinforces the impression of a lack of staff. There is chaos behind the counter, which is what you see when you go there to pay. The bubble tea was lukewarm and really didn't taste good unchilled. The food was ok, but not so much that you have to go through the rest again. Contrary to other reviews, the service was friendly.

We wanted to get bubble tea, it had no bubbles left and the lady couldn't speak German properly. We tried to explain to her that we were taking the tea without bubbles and she put some flavor in it. We paid almost 20.- for something that we didn't want, didn't like, and then we had to spend it in another store!

The food was great and very tasteful! When we visited, the whole restaurant was being served by a single woman but we still didnt have to wait for our food so you coukd definitely say the service was great! Only reason why there are only 4 stars is because the platter sizes are a little small, everything else was great!

The Pad Thai was soggy and unfortunately slightly sweet. Portion was small. The table was stuck. One person was a waitress and cook in one. I was pretty tired and a bit irritable. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Friendly service and great bubble tea!

I had a drink with 4 other people in the restaurant on Sunday, November 13th, 2022. We were greeted rudely and stressed. No, it didn't have much clientele. We sat down and were given the menu, even though we only wanted a quick drink. After the customers who arrived later were served first, it was our turn after around 10 minutes. After ordering, the employee told us very angrily that it was only for eating and that the drinks had to be taken away. We still got the drinks and the spring roll we ordered. Now another 10 minutes passed until we got 5 drinks and a spring roll. The bubble drinks 🥤 came and we tried them. Apart from the price of CHF 7.- the cup of 2.5 dl, it was nothing special. A matter of taste. The cups, even though we were indoors, came in sealed plastic cups. In summary, it was neither friendly, not tasty and on top of that, nor expensive.

Decent restaurant a short walk from the cathedral. The prices seemed a little high, but that is probably typical of Switzerland.

If you have a garbage bin then I would advice to throw your money away there. This restaurant is just a snackbar and 1 star is even to much. Good luck

The place is small but nice-looking, the staff is friendly and professional. The boba tea was of outstanding taste and quality, perhaps one of the best I've had. The service was fast and correct. A large and varied selection of teas and Boba balls. As for tea, my recommendation.

Food was edible, but not great and far more expensive than it should be even by Swiss standards. My opinion: skip it.

Close to the cathedral, the location is good. The Chinese dim sum is quite authentic. The boss lady is a Shanghainese and very capable. The stir-fried beef river and shrimp siomai are both delicious.

Unfortunately disappointing, although it looked promising from the map. Mapo Tofu looked completely different and wasn't authentic, not silken tofu and not Sichuan pepper. What was listed on the menu as fried baozi was more like fried xiaolongbao (i.e., three times as small). Service was inattentive and disinterested. Prices were expensive, in keeping with Basel's city center standards.

Good taste, BUT pure rip-off (even by Swiss standards!). The portions are much smaller than shown on the menu. Dumplings definitely come from the freezer. Order was partly implemented incorrectly. When asked, only stupid comments were made. Service extremely unfriendly.

It's a shame, but definitely never worth a visit again.

Very unfriendly service, the fruit bubble tea tasted good even if it was very sugary. From the milk bubble tea onwards I felt sick. Milk powder and tap water were used for the preparation. I've never drunk such a disgusting bubble tea!! I advise everyone against it. Furthermore, the bubble tea was lukewarm and resembled soup.

The food was not delivered completely, the food was burnt and therefore not edible. The food also completely leaked out of the to-go packaging. I have already contacted the Xiao Lus restaurant and was treated very unfriendly and my concern was not taken seriously. So I can't recommend this restaurant.

My friends and i went there after work. the bubbles were soft and undrinkable, the tea was warm and had a strange taste. she also put in some little pieces that i couldn't identify what it was. i don't recommend at all. staff was unfriendly and wait time was way too long. also way too expensive, even by swiss standards.

Why is oolong tea sour? The pearls are too hard, totally unacceptable for a beverage shop. Oolong tea tasted sour and the bubble was very tough!! Keep away from this teahouse, the worst bubble tea ever!!

I completely disagree with all the negative reports. My meal was freshly prepared and was delicious! Dim sum was also very tasty and fresh! My taro bubble tea was also flawless!
