Gelateria Pippo in Ascona

A small ice cream parlor on a side street that is absolutely worth the detour! Very friendly service, great selection and very creamy ice cream! For 5 balls and a shake more than 20 SFR, but you're in Switzerland... but everything was very tasty and we also discovered a new favorite flavor! Be sure to try the “Amalfi”, it’s amazing!

Portions good, price not too bad. Unfortunately not too many flavors to choose from and the staff only speaks Italian

The best ice cream in the whole region. You can't miss this when visiting Ascona!

A must-see place in Ascona! I think this ice cream parlor is easily in my Top 3 of the best ice creams I have eaten in my life. The man who served us was incredibly friendly! The ice creams have unbeatable value for money for the region I think. And in terms of quantity, the size of the balls is very generous! We went back twice, and we were even offered a ball of a flavor of our choice. Be careful, however, not to make the same beginner's mistake as me: Take a pot and not a cone if you want to be able to take the time to enjoy your ice cream in this heat. 😉

The ice cream is perfect. However, the service was a disaster. Opening times are written in small letters here. Open until 11 a.m. one evening, today we were turned away at 9:45 p.m. because it was already closed.

Oh, Italy and the ice cream (yes, we're in Switzerland, I know). 33 degrees outside at the harbor, 26 degrees + shade in the small alley, delicious ice cream flavors and a small bench. We chose several types of ice cream and they were all really good. I will remember that! Very friendly saleswoman despite the heat :-)

We past by this cute little ice cream corner and had the best ice cream ever! They have a wide variety of different flavors and you can taste that they are homemade. Also the price is very good for this kind of portions. The water is free if you ask nicely and the employee there is also very nice. I will be definitely be back when I visit Ascona again :)

True flavor explosions in your mouth. Banana, coffee, coconut, peach, incredibly beautiful flavors. Great ice cream. Sfr 5.50 for 2 scoops. Switzerland is simply more expensive. But price worth it.

We enjoyed ice cream here every evening during our vacation. Variety of varieties is clear but very, very tasty. By the way, the ice cream here is not served in scoops, but rather piled up into 'mountains'. If you normally take two scoops, ordering one scoop is enough here. Quantities are huge!

Portion size positive, taste only standard if at all. I expect much more, especially in this region. E.g. was the strawberry ice cream with a relatively low fruit content. Normally good ice cream here is much more sorbet-like with fruit varieties. My girlfriend only wanted to give it 2 stars, but at least it was sweet, cold and edible... But it wasn't worth the calories.

Good, fresh ice cream. Not all flavors are the best, for example as regards "cheese cake" I preferred the version from another ice cream shop. I didn't find many flavors but that's not the problem, in my opinion the basic ones like fior di latte and chocolate should always be present. The staff did not provide me with the receipt

Pippo's gelateria is not yet in season in April 2021, but of course there was a lack of variety, but it is the best because the cups are filled very well like in Italy. So don't hesitate to go to Pippo, it's simply very tasty.

Super yum. Right by the water in a lovely little alley. Just enough variety, just cup or cone and flavor. Simple and so tasty. Can recommend the Nutella in particular.
