We only went in to enjoy a romantic dessert after the concert. The Cassata Siciliana was an unforgettable experience! The combination of Lemon and Mango Sorbet was a resounding success. Our two Cappuccinos were of the highest quality. The atmosphere on the ground floor is truly special, featuring a Glockenspiel that chimes the hour, yet it's even more impressive in the upstairs section. Be sure to check it out and see for yourself. To our international visitors: Yes, this is Switzerland, and thus it is expensive, but rest assured that everything you encounter here will be of the highest quality!

We ordered our starter and main course at 7:00 p.m., the salad arrived at 7:15 p.m., the main course arrived at 8:45 p.m., and the waiters walked past us for almost two hours. At 8:15 p.m. we asked again because other tables that came after us were already ready, including dessert. They said it was coming soon (the entrecote had fallen down). We could have said something early or excused ourselves to eat something small, but no. It should have been a nice meal with my partner, I left angry, sad and hungry - despite a bill of 130 francs and without wine. I haven't had such a bad evening in a long time. Catastrophe. And just for reference, I've been to restaurants and hotels almost weekly in almost all of Switzerland for professional reasons for the last 6 years. I've never seen such a bad, bland risotto, and such a carelessly thrown in entrecote, and my girlfriend's tagliatelle They were relatively hard and tasted so strongly of mushrooms that she couldn't finish them.

Wonderful food with friendly service, I really liked it, only the Apérol Spritz was a bit 'thin', otherwise everything was perfect.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience, we arrived 10 minutes late and had to wait despite having a reservation because no one took care of us. We had to go inside the restaurant to speak to a waiter, the place was busy, the food was ok. The invoice does not match the quality. I had gone there on a friend's recommendation, but it wasn't as expected.

It's open until 2:30 p.m. but at 1:55 p.m. they say the kitchen is already closed.

I was with a party in the hall upstairs. The event was well organized and... Waiters were polite and quick. The aperitif was delicious, especially the huge olives. I've never had a salad like this before, very unusual. The ravioli, the vegetarian main course, was OK but nothing special. The tiramisu was one of the best I've ever eaten. They also decorated it beautifully for Christmas.

Many thanks to Walter and his friendly team for the lovely evening we were able to spend yesterday in the Gerberstube. The osso buco was outstanding, the Sardinian wine excellent and the tiramisu second to none. Everything was prepared and served with love; always an experience. Alla prossima volta amici!

Very nice and effective service, nice ambience and very fine food

Reception was nice and friendly, we (2 people) got a table on Saturday evening without a reservation. Ok, a small spare table. Drinks received quickly. Ordering the food took a while. Beef fillets were great - fried potatoes were a flop (not seasoned, bland without salt) Osobucco, meat totally dry and sauce cold! (Tomato sauce Pomodoro, also bland) We then sat with an empty plate for 40 minutes until it was cleared away The wine recommendation from the 3 liter bottle was very good. Dessert, affogato - far too much coffee in relation to the vanilla ice cream Grappa Tignanello not even 2cl in the glass No attention from the staff when leaving the restaurant. No thanks and no goodbyes - everyone was busy. All in all, a disappointing 3 out of 5 stars. We expected more.

We were there on Christmas Eve and were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant that was still open in the afternoon. Our happiness was perfect because we felt comfortable all around. Great food and very good service. thanks for that

We sat upstairs in the Rawyler tanner's room right next to the open fireplace and had a great lunch with salad, tomato soup, pumpkin ravioli and porcini mushroom risotto. For dessert, chocolate cakes with a liquid center and vanilla ice cream to put in them. There was even a dessert surprise for the birthday child. Thank you & thank you for the professional and personable service.

Vor langer Zeit war die Gerberstube die No 1 in Schaffhausen wenn es um italienische Gastfreundschaft ging.Noch heute koche ich das Risotto so , wie es mir Gildo damals im Vertrauen verraten hatte.Die heutigen Wirte haben ein schweres Erbe angetreten die Messlatte liegt hoch.Ja früher war alles besser, doch alles hat seine Zeit.Das Ambiente ist modernisiert aber immer noch gemütlich.Der Service (trotz Schutzmaske) freundlich und italienisch charmant.Das Essen hervorragend, der Fisch war auf den Punkt und raffiniert gewürzt, der dazu servierte Zitronen-Risotto passte ideal. (Ich diskutiere bewusst nicht über den Biss des Risottos, da gehen die Meinungen auseinander, für mich war es sehr gut)Die Wein Empfehlung passte sowohl zum Fleisch meines Kollegen wie auch zum Fisch, sehr gut gelöst!Einziger Wermutstropfen und für mich ein No Go bei dieser Preisklasse: der leichte wahrzunehmende negative Geruch in der Sanitäreinrichtung, aber ich habe eine sehr empfindliche Nase.

Excellent food, but service needs improvement (forgotten drinks)

Food at the usual Bindella level - more traditional than experimental, but implemented at the highest level. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite manage to create a pleasant atmosphere during our visit.

In terms of taste, there is nothing to say, it is very good. But, these are typically heavy Italian dishes and therefore not easy to digest. They play on traditional Italian dishes, that is to say small portions but several dishes. If you take starter, main course 1 main course 1 dessert wine (which by the way is only Italian, not wine from the region) you have to take out your wallet... for 2 taking 2 beers (only bottle, no draft) , 1 starter, 2 main courses, 3 glass of wine 123CHF... Otherwise the staff is very friendly and with a very high level of marketing which unfortunately clearly encourages consumption. Basically, if you want to eat good Italian cuisine and you have the means, don't hesitate, it's good!

Seit einigen Monate einfach top! Man muss reservieren. Wer italienisches Essen liebt kann alles Essen was die Karte bietet. Tolle Weine, tolles Ambiente, guter Service, überzeugende Küche und gut zahlbar!Unter uns: das könnte mein Lieblingslokal werden!

Sehr lange Wartezeit nach der Bestellung. Das Essen war OK, aber ich muss nicht nochmal hier her kommen. Die Küche arbeitet sehr langsam. Servicepersonal ist freundlich.

Wir waren abolut überrascht, ein solch geschmackvolles Restaurant anzutreffen. Die Küche bietet viele sehr gute Speisen an, die freundlich und schnell serviert werden. Ganz besonder erwähnen möchte ich die Inneneinrichtung dieses Hauses. Dem Innenarchitekten oder der Innenarchitektin muss man ein riesiges Lob aussprechen. Da kommen wir gerne wieder.

Exzellenter Service und hervorragendes Essen, das optisch, von der Qualität der Zutaten und von der Originalität der Zubereitung der Speisen deutlich von der Konkurrenz heraussticht. Super schönes Ambiente.

Wir Zürcher haben bei unserem Stadtbummel von einem SH-Geschäftsinhaber diese Empfehlung erhalten, da wir einen etwas gediegenen Italiener suchten für ein spontanes Nachtessen. Eine sehr geglückte Entscheidung, netter Empfang, ruhig und stets unaufgeregter aber aufmerksamer Service! Die Weinempfehlung aus der 5l (??) Flasche passte perfekt zum Menu. Und wer frische Trüffel aus Alba liebt, dort spielt die Musik. Natürlich hat diese Frische ihren Preis, aber es war ein absolut lohnenswertes kulinarisches Vergnügen. Liebe Crew, das habt ihr alle toll gemacht! Auf ein gutes 2020, wir kommen wieder.

A friend and I had an excellent meal at Gerberstube. The friendly Italian staff were very engaging. We especially enjoyed the charcuterie starter. Our main meals consisted of the homemade pasta and ravioli, along with a nice bottle of wine. The entire experience was quite enjoyable.

Here you can get good dishes at reasonable prices. The food is freshly prepared and tastes very good. When we toasted on the occasion of my birthday, I even received a small greeting on the house. We would love to come back. Thank you very much for the service.

We were upstairs in the hall as part of a group. We really liked it, I was particularly impressed by how much effort was put into the vegan menu, it was incredibly tasty! Expectations far exceeded!

We had a business dinner and we pleasantly surprised about the decent service and good wine menue. Food itself varied from Great to OK - meat dishes were highly appreciated while vegetarian food was average only.

Everything was very fine, unfortunately for 120.- there were 2x 40gr. meat and 2x 80gr. Vegetables with 3 glasses of wine with 2 espressos and a tiramisù which was also very fine. Unfortunately very overpriced and we had to walk away hungry. Unfortunately I had to save a tip.

Durch Zufall hier gelandet, aufmerksame und sehr freundliche Bedienung (vielen Dank, Gianni S!) Start mit hausgemacht spritzigem Hugo,.sitzen an grosszügig und bequemen Tisch im Freien, speditive Bestellung und wunderbar gegessen: einen tollen Salat 'Gerberstube', dann absolut feinstes 'tonno al pepe', sehr schön und mundgerecht angerichtet und ganz unkompliziert können wir ein anderes Gemüse dazu wählen...wir sind bereits ganz glücklich und zufrieden, freuen uns auch an dem farbenfrohen Geschirr als wir als absolute Ueberraschung noch ein köstliches Tiramisu-Stück zu meinem Geburtstag bekommen .Ich werde auf alle Fälle wiedermal hier essen kommen...es ist schön, gibt es diese 'Gastro-Perlen' wie die Gerberstube tatsächlich noch...war mir schon ewig nicht mehr passiert, dass einfach alles stimmt !(und das an meinem Geburi;-)Vielen Danknicht unwesentlich: sehr schönes modernes Interieur

Nice food and excellent service

Wir hatten einen Tisch im Freien reserviert. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und die Bedienung schnell. Die Tische waren geschmackvoll gedeckt. Speisekarte und Weinkarte machen es einem schwer sich zu entscheiden, es ist alles sehr lecker. Die Speisen alle hervorragend gekocht und präsentiert. Die Einrichtung drinnen zeigt das ehemalige Zunfthaus der Gerber, besonsers der grosse Saal mit seiner originalen Stuckdecke im 1. Stock. Der Garten ist mit schönen Pflanzen umschlossen und man wähnt sich auf dem Land obwohl man mitten in der Stadt ist. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wir fanden den Ort fast zufällig, um mit der Familie zu Abend zu essen. Das Essen war gut proportioniert und lecker, Carbonara, Ravioli und Tagliolini al Limone waren besonders delikat und ein Muss zu probieren. Mousse au Chocolat auch sehr schön. Das Personal war sehr höflich und professionell. Auf jeden Fall ein Muss, wenn Sie die Stadt besuchen

Ein kurzes Geschäftsessen im 1. Stock! Sehr aufmerksame Kellner. Gutes Angebot! Im Menü kann man zwischen Fleisch, Fisch und Vegetarisch auswählen. Oel, Brot und frische Grissini als Start. Das Essen kommt schnell, der Espresso auch - freundlich, schnell, gut -was will man über Mittag mehr?

There was decent hospitality from the extremely friendly staff. Because it was my partner's birthday, there was a large piece of tiramisu for two people for free. The food was excellent. The location is central and the large outdoor area creates a real holiday feeling when the temperatures are warm.
