Restaurant Zum Alten Schützenhaus in Schaffhausen

We have been going to the Schützenhaus with the children about once a month for years. The food is always freshly prepared Homemade croquettes, super tasty. There is always a wide variety of vegetables that are no longer available in restaurants very often. Lamb fillet is highly recommended, and the Cordon Bleu fitness plate is also a hit with us. We will definitely remain loyal to you.

Actually a good restaurant, but on the lunch menu there are 10 dishes with meat and 0 dishes without meat. Not up to date anymore. But otherwise great.

A safe value for years. Reservation recommended, there may be waiting times at lunchtime. But it's worth it.

Anyone who appreciates good home-style cuisine is in good hands there. It has a small and large menu, including vegetarian options. Reservation is recommended. But you can also feel at home in this cozy restaurant in the afternoon with a coffee or cider. A piece of Swiss homeland...! 👍

Really nice Swiss restaurant with terrific food and service with a very professional staff. Easy walk from the touristy areas of town - beautiful patio to boot. Beautiful neighborhood to walk afterwards.

The garden restaurant is cozy but the most important thing is that the staff are friendly and the boss is always in a good mood and the food is TOP

Although it's a bit out of date, this restaurant is always worth a visit. Several large rooms for celebrations or club events.... stair lift... great friendly service and of course super fine food and for warm weather.... partly reserved outdoor area... we always like to come

Rather expensive… friendly staff. The portion of the food is rather meager. The potatoes were cooked a little hard. The fish was fried crispy. Good home-style Swiss cuisine.

I was there after work with my work colleagues, we were immediately greeted very warmly and served quickly. You feel very comfortable and welcome! The food tastes excellent, especially the meat! Would come again and again!!!

The price-performance ratio is very good, you really get a top meal based on old Swiss cuisine for your money. You get a lot of choice of dishes. I was surprised to see on the menu in the restaurant that the normal fondue now costs CHF 31 (previously or last season it was CHF 27.50). Unfortunately, I can no longer afford this price for myself and my family. It's a shame it was always good and priced like in restaurants in Winterthur Fr. 27.00, which are otherwise rather more expensive.

A good restaurant, with a large selection of varied dishes, a large terrace, partly covered. There is a large parking lot nearby. We like to hold meetings and family celebrations there.

Nice restaurant with a great ambience and lots of charm. The service staff was attentive and friendly. We had the classic cheese fondue with the house mix. The taste was very fine and there was nothing to complain about except for the price, which I found to be too high at 31 francs per person for cheese and bread. In Winterthur, for example, you pay significantly less near the center.

Every now and then I go to the old Schützenhuus on the Breiti in Schaffhuse☺️and I'm all around peace🙃 good Swiss people, friendly staff and friendly hosts who are there to chat.

Traditional, home-style and friendly! Last Friday evening - beautiful garden restaurant, great brass music and good cuisine - what more could you want on an evening like this! The staff rushed back and forth and were visibly under pressure. At this point, thank you very much for your great effort! By the way, my waiting time to pay was significantly shorter than an hour 👍... I showed understanding, went to the counter and paid my bill there with a smile - THE tip for going home satisfied🙃👍! Good food, nice garden restaurant. Unfortunately, it ended up taking 1 hour (!) until we could finally pay. This was despite the fact that at the end there were only around 20 guests present. The reason for the long waiting time was the large rush. But this was long over.

Everything was first class, service, food, dessert. Everything worked perfectly and everyone was thrilled. Would love to come again.

Actually everything is good. Please train new service staff better so that the guest gets what he ordered. When you order a glass of wine, the guest shouldn't just get a sip. (We didn't even get 1/3 - but we paid for a "glass"). A pity...

Kitchen 1A, service unfortunately the complete opposite. We had to constantly call because something was forgotten: spoon for the soup, ketchup for the fries, things we ordered didn't come several times. We were not offered a high chair and had to get one ourselves because otherwise we would probably never have gotten to eat. A pity.
