Goethe Bar in Zürich

Nice bar, very fine cheesecake. Service underground. Conceptless and headless, we waited forever, even though the restaurant wasn't full and there were a lot of staff there.

Everything fine. No matter where in Zurich in which café, if you come early enough in the morning then it's much more pleasant because if you come later then it's already full and you can't relax as much. The best time is always morning.

Open until midnight on Thursdays? At 11 p.m. you can no longer order a drink and are sent away again! And that in a cosmopolitan city!

Well... i was not impressed, with the served cocktails. I asked for a Flip (i know it's a rare one) and for a White Russian. It was not what i was expecting. The drinks were not good. Probably won't return there.

Nice, trendy bar in a good location

A nice bar in a central location in Zurich. I've been there once so far, so it's possible I hit the bar on a bad night. When we came in we waited a while to order, when I mentioned the drink they said they didn't have it. I looked at the card again, the second time I tried it said the same thing. The waiter clarified with the bar what they had on the menu, then gave me 5 things. I chose the one first, then corrected myself. 30-35 minutes later the drinks arrived (unfortunately the wrong ones, which we only noticed when we were drinking). There was no possibility of correcting this because the service staff of two people seemed severely understaffed and overwhelmed on a Saturday evening. The drinks were okay, but nothing outstanding and I would have expected more for Zurich given the price. Asked for the bill as soon as we received the drinks, as we had to move on, twice more during the course of the evening. In the end I got up so I could go pay. In short: we were there for 1 hour, had our drinks after 45 minutes (1 of them right) and had to make a lot of effort to be able to pay. The mood in the bar was rather stressed, including among the staff. For me there is no need for a second time.

Nice setting, but deplorable and arrogant service.

Great place for private or corporate meetings. Very good cocktails, no skimping on the ingredients. Very easy to reach by tram. Prices are on the higher side, but overall OK

Chic bar with a special, interesting audience. Centrally located near the opera. Good selection of drinks, expensive. Service too sparsely staffed, partly self-service.

You don't have to serve the guests properly. A juice shop.

I really like this place. For a coffee date with friends, dinner or that one last drink on a Saturday night before heading back home, this has the perfect location and ambiance.

We wanted to warm up with an Irish coffee in the Goethe Bar. Unfortunately, we were served a lukewarm cafe with cream mixed in, in a white wine glass. When we complained, nothing was done to serve us a new standard Irish coffee. Is it customer friendly?

Great bar, we went here and had coffee. Quality: Excellent. Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere. Here you can talk to each other in peace. The Goethe Bar is centrally located, just a few minutes from Stadelhofen train station. I'm always there and would love to come back.

YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR JOB WELL MANAGER IF YOU TELL TO CUSTOMERS TO TAKE MORE THINGS I take one coffe and one Caesar AIR SALAD TOO expensive for this money I was sitting with my laptop for 2 hours and the service man came to tell me to take something more I say already took from before and after 1 minute manager came to tell me to take something more and I told him I habe take already I do not have money to take sth more and with his behavior his forced me to leave in front of the customers (outside was raining full to note) he told me he is manager of the store (one man with no hair to recognized him) and I told him he is doing bad his job because I was like that place but I will not come again because of them I work also in this kind of work. They are doing but their job for that reason all this kind of restaurants with all this kind of fine dining 🤣🤣🤣🤣 empty air food will not go ahead .you are makeing money with only cause Zürich has a lot of people not for your quality of food and the quality of service that u do🤮. (We don’t ask also customers if they want to put tips all your consept is bad the coffe was ok but the salad not.)

Both the terrace and the cafe areas are charming. But the quality of the service varies by season. On a summer day good luck getting the staff to pick up your order or bring you the bill.

Lovely Bar directly at the Opera. Well worth to go for a drink or two. Recommanded.

Top service today at lunchtime. Was there with a friend. Lunch menu was recommended by Mr. Rodriguez. Delicious and great service. I would love to come back :-)

The place is in the middle of Zurich, in a nice location. It is very welcoming and cozy! The prices are quite high but the quality is also good.

For once quiet and one could speak and hear the other person!! When there are more people, the acoustic is very bad. This from the beginning..

We were not greeted on the terrace at reception and were simply left standing. Then a nice gentleman offered us 2 options for seating. The order was a long time coming. I saw my espresso sitting at the counter. The waiters didn't take him. When it finally reached me, it was no longer hot. In addition, you have to pay separately for the glass of water with your coffee. Really weak.

Best chocolate mousse I've ever had in Zurich! Intensely chocolaty, creamy and airy and generous portions (CHF 14). The staff was also great, very attentive, friendly and quick.

Well-kept classic in Zurich. Stylish bar with tables, high tables and bar counters that invite you to linger. It's always lively here without being completely overcrowded. The expansive view over Sechseläutenplatz is also striking.

Twice with customers for coffee and served extremely unfriendly. And from all employees. Half of them were forgotten when ordering - according to the motto "if I don't come today, I'll come tomorrow"... But nothing new on the "Candrian" horizon!

Cozy bar next to, before and after your visit to the opera

I always enjoy coming back. Very pleasant location! Friendly service and good quality, which is also reflected in the price. The location is also very nice (right next to the opera house) and on nice days sitting outside in the lounge (or similar) is recommended.

It takes a while to be served. The staff seems disorganized. If you're lucky, you'll get your drink made by a good bartender. It was better. We recommend a small Geoethe plate if you're a little hungry. Prices in the upper range

Good location and nice interior, but horrible service. Prices are high, so I expect good service. - Waited 20 min for service because of lack of staff. -When asked to clean the dirty table, the waitress refused, because "dirt is just too easily visible on these tables to clean them completely". - When ordered tap water with a coffee, I got charged for it without the waitress informing me that they charge for tap water. And the water was lukewarm.

Elegant bar with friendly service. It gets crowded from about 5pm, which I suppose is a good sign.
