We had a wonderful aperitif; very good quality of food (small Bündnerplättli), top service, pleasant ambience, great wine selection! We recommend!

We were at the Grandis on business, like every year. But today for the last time. Service disaster as soon as you come in you are sent back and forth. The boss asked us about wine and then tried to talk us into choosing a wine, even though we asked several times if we could choose from the wine collection with him. He confirmed to us that after the starter he would show us the wines and we could taste them. The boss hasn't been seen since those words and we were able to order the wine when the main course was already on the table.

Unfortunately, many dishes on the menu were not available, but we completely understood that as it was the evening before the restaurant was temporarily closed due to company holidays. However, what was incomprehensible was the way we were served. The gentleman at the reception was very friendly and accompanied us to our table. However, the waitress at the table made it clear that she was not happy about serving another group. I've been to this restaurant several times and it's the first time I've experienced something like this. Even if it is the last evening of a long season, the staff should at least appear to enjoy their work.

The food was really great. The wine too. But unfortunately we were asked three times whether we would like to have a starter or at least dessert for four people. Unfortunately it took some of the enjoyment out of the evening. I came for good wine and beautifully prepared meat. I've got. But the feeling I got was that I was gutting the place...

New manager, really horrible service (reservation time changes with no notification, makes you wait 10min for the table because only the manager can seat you and he is always late, kind of everything when you need to interact with him... which unfortunately before dinner and destroys the entire appetite)! Was so much better before 2022/2023 season!!!!

We were able to eat at Grandis twice in the last few days. Both dinners were excellent. We were very impressed by the very good service, delicious food and an incredible selection of wines.

The two of us went to a wine tasting evening. The concept is that various wines (7 wines in our case) are drunk with 7 courses. The wine merchants and the wine producer were present that evening. Some of these commented on the wines and the history of the winery. The food was really great and the wines were a perfect match. The service was very friendly. Good raclette, served in a very rough way, not even a vegatable in the plate. But the worst experience was the wine price: the information is only in German and the waiter was not able to explain it to us in English, so we thougth we would spend 32 euro, and we found 66 euro on the bill.

A cheeky wine is recommended before the meal and after the meal you get a bill of 32fr. Because wine sales should be external.. Really rude not to recommend this restaurant

Writing this review in a very happy mood as i just had an excellent dinner with a delicious glass of red. The Angus Filet and the Lamb Rack were to die for! Grilled to perfection with a tasty and crispy outside and a pink juicy inside. Contrary to some negative reviews about bringing children, our neighbouring tables all had kids and they seemed to enjoy their dinner just as much as we did. Even my hangry and picky teenage companion left with a smile.

Unfortunately, the reviews are true and question the quality of service at Grandis Ustria da Vin. We had to deal with an arrogant waiter who did his job poorly. We had to pour the wine ourselves and there was no question as to whether everything was OK. Unfortunately, this was exactly what was necessary because the veal chop for CHF 54 was tough and extremely rich. It was only when we cleared the plates that we were able to complain about the quality, which only resulted in a shrug of the shoulders and a mumbled "I'm sorry." I recommend checking out the other restaurants in the area, for example s'nana. There is extremely attentive service there.

We were permanent guests here years ago! Obviously the Grandis no longer needs it and isn't of much interest if you're not Swiss and don't smoke! Please also be prepared for smoking - regardless of whether you are eating or not. The staff including the boss are totally unfriendly and incompetent (the head always starts to stink at the top). The food is good - when what you ordered comes and you don't want to eat after 1 1/2 hours! The prices are completely exorbitant, the staff rude and incompetent. The money was still gladly accepted! Here you will be totally ripped off and fogged with cigarette smoke! NEVER AGAIN!

i would definitely not recommend that restaurant. 3 teenagers and 2 kids, we were there for christmas, the service was chaotic, they forgot to put in my brothers dish in so we had to wait extra for starters. They don’t know how to pour wine in a wine glass, and very expensive wine that wasn’t even that good. the food is a scam, not kid food friendly. no seasoning. i got a angus beef fillet and asked for a medium rare, and it was fully cooked. for 5 kids the total was 474.-! too overpriced. good luck going there i would not go there again:😡

Don't go there! Peak of decadence. The Grandis was once a good place, but the landlord is a disaster. He and his drinking buddies smoked cigars in the restaurant (nota bene, not a smoking restaurant). Guest complaints were ignored. If you don't like it, you can leave. Some guests did that too, but the innkeeper didn't seem to care. The staff tried very hard to compensate for the boss's misconduct, but it is hardly possible to compensate. The portions have also shrunk significantly while the prices have risen. If an innkeeper tramples on the catering industry like that, you shouldn't support it. There are numerous better restaurants that are worth visiting.

The wines are absolutely amazing. The over 1,000 wines are displayed in showcases. You choose the wine and pay the retail price plus a fee of CHF 32. With this system, the prices for top wines do not rise immeasurably. In relation to what is offered, the prices are okay. If I come to Laax again, I will definitely eat at Grandis again.

I rarely write a review but this time I had to. We just had a meal there. So first of all, no children’s menus. Our kids ate a little bit of a dry bread and that’s it. They didn’t like the “syrup” as well (for which they charged 7chf! IMO that should be free). For us adults we ordered a beef steak and lamb rack. My husband’s steak was dry and burned. The lamb was ok but I expected much more for this price. I also asked if the polenta which I ordered could be switched to the roast potato (didn’t like it at all) so the waiter just gave me new roast potatoes and obviously they additionally charged for it. Overall, I would say that this place is overpriced! For this price you could eat at a Michelin restaurant (like we did yesterday in Valendas and that was excellent!). There we got so much food we could barely breathe and the service was outstanding. Here it is average with not the best service and very average food. Sorry, would not recommend,.

This restaurant is not for kids. They don't have neither a kids menu neither they do dishes thought for kids at all. There was no wine menu and the prices on of the wines displayed are take away, if you have them in the restaurant it's 32chf more and they never say that! Very misleading... Simply a bad experience that I would recommend not to try. Better a snack somewhere else.

A very nice restaurant with a great wine selection. The prices are rather high, which may and was appropriate for the main courses, but in my opinion is a bit too high for the starters. A little beetroot salad with a little cheese for 19.- was clearly too expensive for me considering the taste. And a soup of the day (tomato) for 15.- is also very well calculated. I wouldn't recommend visiting with children as the only dish suitable for children is the raclette or perhaps the polenta (without anything). Personally, I think it's a bit excessive that if you spend 300.00 on food, you're also charged 3.00 for 5dl of tap water.

Non eccellono nel sevizio e nell'efficienza, ma almeno le 2 cameriere più giovani in questa stagione invernale erano gentili. Dato che si propone come una sorta di enoteca, una nota a parte va fatta sui vini: la vetrina con le bottiglie è sicuramente di effetto, ma in genere hanno solo una annata e non tutti i vini esposti sono pronti da bere.. come se la cantina, insomma, che dovrebbe essere frutto di ricerche, esperienze e scommesse fatte negli anni, fosse qui stata messa insieme al tavolino tutta in una volta! Tanto per fare un esempio su un vino noto, del Sassicaia hanno solo il 2016!!! Un vero e proprio infanticidio! Magari può andar bene per qualcuno che vuole strafare, ma sicuramente non per chi vuole bere bene.. E se pretendono di far maturare questi poveri vini nei frigoriferi sotto la vetrina, beh finisco di rabbrividire... : )tutto questo a prezzi non contenuti, cui si somma, se bevute al tavolo, il costo del servizio (che occhio: è a parte!!). Non esiste carta dei vini, quindi x scegliere bisogna andare "comodamente" a guardarle tutte. Il che può essere divertente, ma anche no.. Per farla breve, io sono un appassionato di vino ma.. qui bevo sempre la birra, di cui però hanno solo una tipologia in bottiglia ! :):)

Sehr schönes Lokal und freundliches Personal. Überschaubare Karte. Rindsfilet war ausgezeichnet, die Polenta lecker. Tolle Weinauswahl zu fairen Preisen (VP + fixes Zapfengeld). Reservation war etwas schwierig: Online-Buchung nicht möglich, Telefon mehre Tage nicht besetzt. Die Tische wurden mehrfach gebucht, entsprechend zügig wurde man bedient und auch wieder verabschiedet. ;-) Nach dem Lockdown wird das bestimmt wieder bessert. Insgesamt kann ich das Lokal sehr empfehlen.

Absolute Frechheit die Portionen.

Wurden gnadenlos mit Zapfengeld abgezogen obwohl wir und den Wein im Restaurant bestellt haben, die Bedienung wahr unfreuntlich und unzuverlässig, wurden falsch bedient und schlecht beraten. Nicht zu empfehlen!!

Il ristorante propone principalmente carne cotta alla brace, più altre piccole scelte di stampi mediterraneo. La carne è davvero deliziosa, cotta perfettamente, molto saporita, e accompagnata al tavolo con alcune spezie a scelta. Ottimi anche i dolci, ben presentati. Sinceramente non mi aspettavo un servizio e una proposta gastronomica del genere, quindi sono rimasto soddisfatto e sorpreso. Consigliatissimo!

Seit der nette Küchenchef weg ist leider enorm abgenommen. Sind extra wegen diesem wieder gekommen. Sehr traurig das Essen war damals top so wie man gerne wieder kommt. Köche aktuell wirklich nicht zu empfehlen.

Sehr schöne Location, aber leider schlechter Service. Das Personal ist gestresst und bringt die Gänge zu früh, geht nicht auf die Wünsche der Gäste ein. Die Teller und das Essen sind dann kalt und der Tisch wird schon abgeräumt, wenn man noch beim Wein ist.

Geht gar nicht - Kinder nicht willkommen - ich fragte, ob sie noch für sieben Personen Platz hätten. Er meinte, kein Problem, als wir dann kamen, zwei Erwachsene, 5 Kinder, sagte sie das geht nicht, sie müssen wieder gehen😬

Nous sommes restés comme prévu sur des vins locaux et n'avons pas été déçus. Personnel souriant et aux petits soins. Salades variées en entrées et grillades de chasse avec polenta comme suite: tout était très bon. Y retournerons certainement.

Essen war leider nicht hervorzuheben sowie auch die mangelnde Kenntnise von einem unqualifizierten Personal. Störend empfanden wir auch das inakzeptabel Verhalten vom Inhaber.
