Very fine food, pleasant terrace, friendly waiter

One of the few Restaurants left in Ticino where you may still experience a bit of authentic human touch! Owner genuinely welcomed and established a kind connection with us and all the other guests too. Clean and well kept interiors, quiet, romantic and with beautiful view of a huge magnolia tree and patio, plus a sophisticated selection of background music. Recipes are simple of typical Grotto’s food with very good execution, also thanks to the excellent quality of ingredients. I believe several options were house-made (including fresh pasta, a few desserts, and also the apricot marmalade on our crostata - so yummy). Last but not least plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Atmosphere is easy going with attentive, friendly and never intrusive service. Thank you for the excellent hospitality, and keep going with the great work you all!

Really good food, very friendly staff. We had polenta and merlot braised meat and they were excellent. The array of cheeses and cured meats was also very good.

Perhaps one of my favorite Grotti! Dinner as a couple where we had a great time. The Grotto is very beautiful and enhanced by the choice of lights and furnishings that make the environment familiar and welcoming. Wide choice of wines and very good and well-made dishes. Young, welcoming and super helpful staff. Prices in line with the grotti standard. Like any grotto, booking is recommended because spaces are limited. It has several car parks, one outside on a dirt road and the other inside once you have passed the gate.

A very beautiful grotto. The menu was only in Italian, but a neighbor at the table ended up helping us with the translation. The young team was friendly and attentive. The food was very good and the atmosphere was romantic. A successful evening for my 60th birthday. At the end I got a limoncello as a small gesture from the waiter. I'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

Living in Agno and after having been there and having brought several new customers there numerous times, I was refused dinner, and even rudely with several customers still sitting at the table, at 9.07pm on Sunday evening because they had already cleaned the kitchen by inviting me to the supposed manager to go to McDonald's... it's absurd that one can afford to treat people like this in a public establishment with opening hours that must be respected by law... perhaps they are used to doing this in Italy... and they also have the courage to complain when the tourists leave and there will be no one there... he who sows reaps... remember that!!!!

Very nice grotto to sit outside! Located on the hillside with animals grazing! The risotto with blueberries was very appreciated and was cleaned up in no time! The following dishes also tasted great and the meat was very tender! Very attentive service , extremely friendly and organized! We would love to go there again!

Typical Grotto place, clean and welcoming. Bring a sweater or jacket for fresh air from the woods. Varied cuisine, well presented and excellent quality. Quality, correct price. Very good food and great service. We're going again

Were there for the first time in 2022 and it was excellent. Now this year we went for dinner and the food was easy to eat, no aha effect. Brasato was undercooked. I can't recommend this grotto. There was no 1/2 carafe of wine, only bottles 1dl in a glass I've never experienced that before, served openly but only by the glass and overpriced

Typical Ticino style: so goooooood. A quiet place in a magnificent location not far away from Lugano. Polenta, affettati, risotto,... everything is delicious and perfectly prepared. And the price is just right! Trust me: give it a try. Be sure to book in advance because ther are not so many tables.

This restaurant is a real surprise hidden on the hills of Agno, surrounded by the forest, a beautiful greenery. You can only hear the sound of the water falls and some donkeys close by. It remindes me of Japan... The host Antonello from Sardegna is really taking care of you. He is ready to go the extra mile in order to give you a great moment of relax meanwhile enjoying your lunch. A good selection of local and foreign wines, I have tried today a great French rose from Grenache, smooth and fresh. Starting with a crispy green salad with a few drops of olive oil, accompanied by two types of tasty bread... I have tried the carpaccio and tasted the roast beef as well, both well prepared of high quality meat. The carpaccio made by the chef is really excellent! The filets of lamb is a must, it was so harmonic, melting in my mouth with roasted potatoes...Mmm with one glass of wine from the local vinery, Monzeglio, just fantastic. What else? Yes mirto, a digestive offered by the host. Easy to park just outside and an area for children in case of a family lunch.

Last night my son showed me this beautiful grotto. I immediately had an excellent impression. We were welcomed very well by the owner, Mr. Antonello, a very empathetic person. The environment is very nice and clean. The dinner was excellent as was the house wine. We spent a pleasant evening. We highly recommend it, even at midday for the splendid view.

Having the desire to change the usual habits we went to the grotto de Fuin. Pleasant surprise, small, characteristic restaurant, well furnished and very clean. The owner and his lady welcomed us with great courtesy and professionalism. The cuisine is truly excellent in its simplicity. Beautiful little cave hidden in the greenery, the environment, especially that of the internal room, has something magical, warm and welcoming, a bit reminiscent of those mountain hunting lodges. We had dinner at Grott dal Fuin with friends and I can say with certainty that it is one of the places where I ate best in Ticino, if not even the best. Everything was perfect, from the hospitality of the manager to the quality of the food. Unfortunately we didn't photograph the dishes, but everything was really delicious! There are several delicious options for vegetarians too! Bring a jacket because in the evening it gets cool on the terrace, but the atmosphere is enchanting and worth it!

Am Sonntag Abend haben wir noch einen Tisch erhalten. Wir sind mit dem Fahrrad vom Camping TCS Lugano angereist, kurze Fahrt, gut beschildert. Das Grotto liegt am Wandrand und ist vom Weitem schon sichtbar geschmückt. Das Ambiente ist klasse, die Bedienung sehr schnell und zuvorkommend, sogar ein wenig deutsch sprechend. Das Essen was mega lecker und schnell serviert. Gerne empfehle ich dieses Grotto weiter, für uns hat alles gepasst.

Seconda volta al grotto. La prima era stata un po' una via di mezzo, ma il gerente ci aveva proposto una bottiglia di vino offerta per "riparare", e quindi ci siamo tornati. Finalmente un grotto che sa di grotto nel Luganese.La tendenza degli ultimi anni è quella di creare grotti "di lusso", perdendo così autenticità e tipicità, caratteristiche che qui si trovano sicuramente. Noi ci troviamo sempre bene quando andiamo a cena e/o pranzo; menu curato e selezionato secondo i prodotti di stagione, assolutamente consigliato! In estate al fresco sull'ampia terrazza, in inverno all'interno!

Volevo sorprendere un mio amico venuto dalla Svizzera tedesca, e siamo andati in questo locale per la prima volta, giocando in casa. Siamo stati accolti da personale gentile, in un ambiente simpatico con buona atmosfera. Il menu era semplice ma con un’ottima carta di vini. Abbiamo ordinato due tipi di gnocchi, che non sembravano essere nulla di particolare. Una presentazione veramente semplice. Abbiamo proseguito con della classica luganighetta con polenta ed un guanciale con polenta. Anche qui presentazione non particolarmente bella e qualità deludente. La luganighetta era composta da due cotture diverse, una di color marrone e ben cotta mentre l’altra rosea e apparentemente non cotta bene. Il guanciale non era freschissimo. Inoltre il personale di servizio non si è accorto a non averci dato le posate per consumare il secondo piatto. Premetto che di Grotti ne ho frequentati veramente molti, ma qui si può ancora migliorare visto che il locale non è aperto da tanto tempo. Sono dispiaciuto rilasciare questa recensione ma non siamo rimasti soddisfatti a fine serata. Il mio augurio è che questa critica possa essere presa come suggerimento costruttiva per migliorare.

Grotto sotto nuova gestione. Gestito con competenza, gentilezza. Carta con vari piatti.regionali ma anche delle sorprese p.e. antipasto ottime le cipolle tonnate e poi le squisite guanciette di maiale.Luogo fresco durante le giornate torride ampio parcheggio.
