Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Beautiful location and wonderful people. Not the easiest to reach but can make for a great day trip

We arrived by ship for dinner. The food was really delicious, but the atmosphere was unbeatable and romantic. Folk music from Ticino is playing on the radio, which makes the atmosphere even more cozy and homely. The staff was also really nice and accommodating. We would like to thank you very much for the great evening and will definitely come back.

Beautiful grotto on the lake, good food and service with a smile

One of the most magical and lovely places. We stopped there for lunch at the end of a boat tour of lake Lugano. Food was the best of our trip and everyone who worked there was just lovely. My son got the gnocchi and it was the best we’d ever had. I had the beef and polenta and it was just wonderful. It was authentic and lovely. Would eat there every day if I could. Five stars!!

After a short hike from San Rocco to Cantine di Gandria, we stopped in this cozy grotto. The pork steak in a mushroom sauce, with risotto and beans was very good.

Rude service to the point we couldn't stop. It's a shame, the location is wonderful and the place in general is lovely. The menu (seems) excellent... shame I didn't try it. If they just wanted to accept customers, without sending them away, that would be perfect.

Wie ein Besucher bereits angemerkt hat: schade, wenn dieser schöne Ort zur Touristenfalle wird. Das Essen ist keineswegs tessinerisch, auch nicht, wenn es den Namen trägt: Saltimbocca mit Schweinefleisch, Ossobucco mit einer nach meinem Eindruck Fertig-Sauce wie bei Saltimbocca, Risotto - im Dorffest viel besser!! Man verlässt das Grotto mit unsäglichem Durst. Schade- dafür auch überteuert. Pluspunkt: sehr nette Bedienung.

One of the most beautiful grottos I know is hidden in beautiful Ticino right on Lake Lugano. Can only be reached by your own boat, ships or on foot. But it's worth it. Very friendly service, fresh Ticino cuisine and fantastic wines. Arrive, enjoy and be pampered.

Went there for dinner in the sea taxi, super nice service. We had a very tasty meal here. I can happily recommend it.

Small, rustic grotto on Lake Lugano. On hot days a nice shady spot under old trees. Easily accessible by boat and for hikers. Rustic Ticino specialties, good wine, good service. Food is freshly prepared in the outdoor kitchen.

Il posto è bello,purtroppo la cucina proposta non è all'altezza. Salumi mediocri (per non dire di peggio),così come il galletto e l'entrecote. Contorno di patate discreto,verdure poco cotte e condite in modo strano.

Das Grotto Teresa ist toller Ort, um schöne Stunden zu verbringen. Küche und Service waren tipptopp und die Preise sind fair. Ca. 200 Meter entfernt in Richtung Bissone befindet sich eine schöne Badewiese, inkl. Steintischen und Feuerstelle.

Es war traumhaft - der herzliche Empfang, das hervorragende Essen, der nette und zuvorkommende Service und alles zu einem sehr moderaten Preis - wir können dieses Grotto nur empfehlen!

Freundlicher Service. Gute schnörkellose Karte. Wir hatten Wildschweinsalsicia und Pasta in Salbeibutter, Steak und patatine. Alles bestens. Inkl Mineralwasser und Gazzosa 70 CHF.Mit dem Kursschiff von Gandria in 10 min erreichbar. Die Dame am Schalter in Gandria wo wir die Schiffs-Billette gekauft haben, war unwahrscheinlich freundlich, als ob wir nicht Touristen Nummer 1 Million waren, sondern Freunde der Familie.Retour nach Lugano auch mit Kursschiff in 25 min. Fahrplan genau im Auge behalten. Zoll Museum unbedingt auch besuchen.

Wir können dieses Grotto wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Es ist das Paradies am Luganosee. Wunderschöne Aussicht und fabelhaftes Essen. Service sehr höflich, unkompliziert und charmant. Weinempfehlung des Chefs ausgezeichnet. Einen Besuch im Grotto Teresa lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!!!

Romantic get-away with simple and delicious food. We loved it. They also serve the local sparkling lemonade which is so refreshing.

Excellent food and fabulous views. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is very nice and friendly. The bruschetta is highly recommended for starters :) The boat ride there adds a lot of charm to the whole experience. Will definitely be back.

Die ruhige Lage ist absolut phantastisch. Das Kursschiff legt direkt beim Grotto an. Dies ist auch die Landungsstelle, wenn man z.B. das Zollmuseum besuchen will. Wer hier dann aber beim Grotto Teresa nicht einkehrt, verpasst wirklich ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. Es ist für mich noch das einzige ursprüngliche Grotto direkt am Luganersee, das seinen Namen auch verdient. Ein Tessiner-Grotto, wie man es sich immer vorgestellt hat. Keine Touristen-Abzocke! Die kleine aber feine Karte bietet für jeden etwas - und es schmeckt wirklich ausgezeichnet, und das zu sehr moderaten Preisen. Das Wirtepaar Alessio&Regina verdienen höchstes Lob. Sie sind überaus symphatisch, freundlich und sehr kompetent - da kochen die Chefs noch höchstpersönlich. Bedient wird man dann ebenfalls von sehr freundlichem Personal. Auch wenn viele Gäste da sind, wird man stets schnell, aber trotzdem nicht hektisch bedient. Hier kann man so richtig vom stressigen Alltag abschalten - sozusagen "d`Seel la bambälä loh". Wir freuen uns jedesmal drauf, hier wieder einkehren zu dürfen.

Approfittato del bel tempo con una gita sul lago e conseguente puntatina a uno dei grotti (scelto il Teresa per caso). L’atmosfera è sempre carina e salva capra e cavoli. Seduti a tavola ci viene detto che un piatto (costine) non è più disponibile. Abbiamo optato per due capresi è una luganighetta con risotto. Devo dire che il risotto era proprio buono è la luganighetta abbastanza. Quello che dispiace è vedere che in un grotto non figurano più sul menu ne sala metti ne formaggini. Non capisco come ci possa essere gente che scrive che i grotti sono come una volta.... Adattarsi al mercato va bene ma si può ugualmente mantenere quella che è la tradizione (tra l’altro il tedesco... non è nella tradizione)

Had a brilliant evening driving over with Grotti Tour (highly recommended). The table was personally reserved and written with a large bottle of wine. Fine starter, perfect mistkratzerli with side dishes and homemade desserts...great location..Very good hosts. A perfect evening by the lake for the four of us.

It's just a dream to sit in this grotto, look at the lake, eat very well and just enjoy the time. We'll definitely go again!

Da das Zollmuseum noch nicht offen hatte, kehrten wir kurz ein. Zuvorkommende Bedienung und der Wildschweinsalametti hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt.

After the museum we strolled through the panoramic way in search of a Grotto.. we spotted this one and fell in love all at once! Amazingly friendly and attentive staff (I called him Fabio.. not too sure tho); delicious snackable bruschetta w olives; unfortunately no gazosa limone (became my fav throughout this Ticino Trip); amazing views; lovely interior & decor and decent prices. We LOVED it. Thanks once again!!

Sehr gastfreundliches und aufgestelltes Wirtepaar. Ein echtes Grotto wie man es kennt und auch erhalten bleiben soll. Nur zu empfehlen.

We were a group of 10 people Dinner, pre-booked. The ambience was wonderful, the location is fantastic! But now it gets difficult: the staff was quite unfriendly and rude. We were the only guests at 9 p.m. and were reprimanded for being too loud. The bill was salty (over CHF 1000, which is excessive even in Ticino) and the meat was oversalted. Various stomachs rebelled. It is still unclear whether this was due to the fuel (it was sold as expensive grappa). Ah yes, there were no tomatoes left when we arrived at 7 p.m., which is why we unfortunately couldn't order half of the menu. Insider tip: “The” bright spot of our trip was Mr. Kurt Saladin with his driving service, who navigated us safely and humorously to and from the grotto in the water taxi. Kurt is highly recommended!!!

I ate in this typical Lugano grotto in August. The day was very hot but I was able to taste some lamb cutlets (very good), in the cool of the garden opposite, under the trees and overlooking the lake. The grotto can be reached either on foot or by boat. To try

Besonders bei heissem Wetter ist das Grotte ideal zum einkehren. Unter den Bäumen ist es schattig und kühl. Idealerweise kommt man mit dem Boot oder dem Kursschiff. Die Antipasti sind sehr gut. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Man darf nicht vergessen, das ganze Essen und Trinken muss per Boot angeliefert werden!

Wir haben den Ort genossen und natürlich das gute Essen auch! Einfach zum Entspannen und verweilen perfekt!!! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Tour d’abord il faut savoir que cet endroit n’est accessible qu’en bateaux privé ou bateau taxis depuis Lugano. Ce qui fait aussi le charme de ce Grotto Tessinois.Les tables sont à l’estérieur, rien à l’intérieur, attentions selon les conditions météo.Nous avons mangé le menu du premier août qui était composé comme plat principal d’une filet de bœuf. Une viande exceptionnel comme je n’en ai jamais mangé.Malheureusement ce soir là nous avons essuyé un orage exceptionnellement violent avec de la grèle. Le personnel s’est démené sans compter pour nous trouver un endoit de fortune à l’intérieur pour continuer notre repas. Chapeau au personnel.A part ce petit problème tout était excellent, je recommande l’endroit.

Die Lage am Luganer See ist wunderschön, das Essen ist gut, aber teuer mit Wasser, Kaffee und offenen Wein übertrieben.

The caves are places where you simply never want to leave. The Grotto Teresa is located opposite Gandria.

C’est un endroit un peu magique et on hésite donc à trop en parler pour qu’il reste ce qu’il est : une jolie petite terrasse, toute calme, sous les arbres, au bord du lac, accessible seulement en bateau depuis Lugano (Stations Cantine di Gandria ou Museo doganale svizzero). Mais d’un autre côté, il n’y avait pas trop de monde malgré la belle journée de juillet et on se dit que quelques clients de plus seront les bienvenus. Très bon accueil et très bon repas à prix normal. Tout est très soigné : la déco, les plats et le service.

Obwohl die Reservierung via Homepage leider nicht geklappt hatte, wurde uns trotzdem ein Tisch angerichtet. Die aussergewöhnliche Lage (nur per Schiff oder Wanderweg erreichbar) und das sehr gute Essen machten den Abend zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich und sprach einwandfrei Italienisch, Deutsch, Französisch und Englisch.

Dies ist ein großartiger Ort zum Mittagessen. Der Service war wunderbar. Das Essen ist einfach, aber frisch und lecker. Die Lage und die Atmosphäre waren fantastisch. Die Preise sind typisch für die Schweiz.

In seguito ad una visita al Museo delle Dogane ho mangiato al Grotto Teresa con un'amica e ci siamo trovate benissimo. Abbiamo mangiato un salametto di maiale come antipasto e costine accompagnate da patate e verdure. Era tutto ottimo. I prezzi sono in linea con i grotti ticinesi.

Wir mieteten ein Boot und es begann zu regnen, also nahmen wir Zuflucht in dieser wunderschönen Grotte. Wie glücklich, diesen Ort zu entdecken. Sehr freundlicher Service, ruhige entspannte Atmosphäre und gutes Essen. Großartig für die ganze Familie. Es kann auch mit dem Wassertaxi erreicht werden - wir mögen es so sehr, dass wir zurückkamen!

Buona griglia e gradevolezza del luogo.Torniamo tutte le estati e ci piace sempre. Dopo pranzo piacevole anche prendere il battello, rientrare sull’altra riva a Gandria, e poi percorrere il sentiero a mezza costa fino a Lugano.

trotz schlechtem Wetter, war die Anfahrt mit dem Schiff 30' von Paradiso sehr angenehm. Wir (3) wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und ich habe sogar noch eine Jacke bekommen damit ich nicht frieren musste. - DankeDie Aussicht und Ambiente an diesem Ort ist Einmalig und ohne den Lärm der Zivilisation einfach nur HAMMER.Alle Gerichte wurden erst bei bestellung gekocht und waren köstlich.Das war bestimmt nicht mein letzter Besuch bei "Teresa".

Super bel endroit, par contre le service est catastrophique. Une heure pour recevoir 2 salade mêlée et 2 assiettes de pâtes de la maison.

Il grotto Teresa, fino alla scorsa stagione, era un riferimento per chi cercava un ristorante sul lago. Fino a poco tempo fa il difficile accesso era ricompensato dalla location, dall'ottima cucina e dall'attenzione ai dettagli della ormai (purtroppo) EX gestione...Ci siamo tornati domenica, come spesso si faceva le estati scorse, per una bella tagliata e le puntine squisite. E invece...Già l'attracco mezzo vuoto doveva essere un campanello d'allarme! Ovviamente si da per scontato che siamo tutti germanofoni (la cameriera parla solo tedesco!) e il menù sembra uscito dal google translator in italiano imbarazzante. Ma fidiamoci, prendiamo il solito e speriamo... Tagliata senza fuochi d'artificio e salametto nella media. Quando arrivano le costine (non ci sono più in carta le puntine ) ecco scendere il silenzio in tavola. Pezzi enormi, mal cotti, poco marinati e con un profumo non proprio invitante (forte odore di maiale, carne che perde tanto liquido). Accidenti! IMMANGIABILI! Appena mangiabile la luganiga e buono il pollo (almeno quello!)Le lasciamo lì e quando arrivano a portarci via il servizio nemmeno si preoccupano di chiedere se ci fosse qualche problema. Dove sono gli occhi dello chef Alessio Krebs?? Chiediamo il conto di 280.- (con due bottiglie di vino - italiano, perché le poche proposte ticinesi - non delle nostre valli - non ci attraevano) e scappiamo a gambe levate!!Ovviamente dimenticatevi delle fantastiche torte della vecchia gestione (cioccolato e peperoncino ad esempio), sostituite da dessert preconfezionati.Incontriamo altrove altri avventori dello stesso giorno, tutti delusi come noi... tutti concordi che così non va.Non bastano due gerani, la bandiera del cantone e musica folkloristica per fare un grotto! Così gli affezionati clienti li perdete in fretta. Noi di sicuro non ci torneremo presto!! PECCATO Ps: il simpatico cameriere italofono è quello che più si è dato da fare, purtroppo però non è bastato...

Das Grotto liegt sehr romantisch unmittelbar am Luganersee gegenüber von Gandria. Das Angebot ist reichhaltig und die Bedienung freundlich.Unverständlich ist, dass ein Tomaten-Mozarella-Salat hier mehr kostet als in einem gehobenen Lokal in der Stadt Zürich, und die Portionen erst noch recht spärlich sind.Auch die Getränke-Preise sind nicht gerade bescheiden, aber wenn man nur mit dem Schiff wieder weg kommt, kann man eben nicht ausweichen....

Charming and fascinating place where you can appreciate the nature and the landscape in the cool shadow of the canopied trees while savouring delicate local Merlot and delicious home made dishes. The owners, Elisabeth and Massimo Regazzoni are most welcoming and friendly, offering the bst of traditional local cuisine like minestrone, local sausages, meat and cheese, veal liver and tripes, roast with polenta, grilled meat, homemade cakes... Personale cordialissimo e spiegazione dei piatti.Ottimo salame di capra e puntine di maiale.Rapporto qualità/prezzo per la Svizzera non male, forse le porzioni un po piccole.Sicuramente da provare magari ci ritornerò.

Das Grotto ist sehr schön am See gelegen. Auswahl an Speisen und die Qualität war top!! Wir können alle Speisen empfehlen da wir einiges bestellt haben. Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder...

Sono stato al Grotto Teresa a cena con amici.Dopo la breve traghettata con il battello dal molo di Lugano siamo arrivati al Grotto Teresa.Posto semplice ma che ti rilassa essendo "fuori dal caos delle macchine".Il personale è stato subito molto disponibile e ci ha spiegato i diversi piatti del menù.Abbiamo optato per un misto di salumi e formaggi per poi passare alle puntine di maiale.Davvero tutto buonissimo e le puntine deliziose.A mio avviso rapporto prezzo/qualità ampiamente soddisfatto.Bravi e sicuramente non mancherò di ritornarci.

Per quanto riguarda il mangiare abbiamo preso 2 antipasti (formaggi e salumi) ed un secondo: le puntine e la tagliata veramente buone, l'agnello alla provenzale da dimenticare: praticamente tutto grasso.Siete avvisati.

Ein perfekter Ort erreicht werden durch eine Fahrt mit der Fähre über den See, die in einem See Beistelltisch, Schatten spendenden Bäumen und einem Baldachin. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker, die Hauptspeisen sehr gut und der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Ausflug!

Reachable only by boat or on foot. Aperitif and lunch with colleagues from CH-interna, which lasted until approximately 3:00 pm. Very kind and welcoming hosts. The kind Mrs. Regazzoni also acted as a guide for us, describing the particularities of the place and the cellars. Very good food and cooked just right. The braised donkey is delicious! At the end they also offered us a limoncello. I will gladly return with my family.

Per una gira fuori porta,una cena romantica,un pranzo con gli amici cari....il grotto Teresa è un luogo versatile,sulle rive del lago gode di un ottima vista e un eccellente posizione. Tutto questo è la cornice di un ristorantino dove il cibo è ottimo e il servizio cordiale.Abbiamo preso il risotto ai funghi con il brasato di asino, era spettacolare,per non parlare dei dolci fatti in casa, ne abbiamo richiesto una degustazione, tutti semplici ma strabilianti.
