In that place you can find really fresh and good fish even raw one. I found this place managed by Sicilian people really comfortable, with warm attitude and informal if you want. Give them a possibility to let them delight you with good dishes and a friendly atmosphere.

A place that really disappointed me. Meager portions, a bottle of 2022 Grillo wine CHF 70 recommended by the waitress without even offering us the wine list. Very long waits between one dish and another. To get the bill, after requesting it several times, we went to pay it at the bar. Too bad but I definitely don't recommend it.

I don't recommend it at all. We accept to stay "inside" convinced that there was also a service. After more than half an hour of waiting (we only received water, not even ordered) we got up to leave. Nice restaurant, so much so that it feels like being on holiday at the seaside. I liked the idea of ​​having a variable card, but then the praise stops there. While ordering starters and main courses, the third time I asked, I was brought the wine list. I asked for a bottle of wine, but was told they didn't have it. So I asked for another bottle and again they told me they didn't have it. They served us the appetizers even before the wine arrived, but even in this case it's fine, nothing serious. The quality of the food is excellent, but we immediately noticed the low quantity. The highlight comes when we are served the main courses: I ordered the grilled octopus (CHF 26). A total disappointment. The quality and taste were excellent, but for that price I expected a much more filling dish. The dish consisted of a miserable little tentacle with a hint of potato sauce and a red cabbage leaf. All things considered, the 5 of us spent CHF 286 and left the restaurant hungry. I'm fine with the fact that you pay for the quality of the food, but it seems decidedly excessive to me to charge CHF 26 for a semblance of a grilled octopus tentacle without even a side dish that can be defined as such (estimated weight 120 grams). I will definitely not come back to this place again. It's a shame, because it really would have great potential.

Without words! You expect to eat fish and you get miserable and poorly presented portions. The quality of the fish is sufficient and we are not in Catania, but paying 90,- CHF for 300g of raw fish seems somewhat excessive to me. I pointed it out but they rudely didn't take what was reported into consideration... Disappointing and I would never recommend it.

In the heart of Lugano, an authentic Sicilian restaurant, (fortunately) free of the rhetoric of prickly pears and painted carts. On the other hand, the owner's approach to customers is absolutely devoid of rhetoric, friendly but not intrusive. The atmosphere of the place is warm but sober, enlivened by blackboards with gleanings collected here and there. Personally, I hate restaurants that offer "revisited" dishes: I am of the opinion that if you eat caponata, you cannot make it dietary. Either you eat it or you don't! Here I found tradition and experimentation, but not "reinterpretations" designed only to cure the guilt of ladies on a diet. The fish is very fresh. The prices are average for any restaurant in Lugano, but with an offer of much tastier and more refined food. The expressed fish soup reminded me of my childhood, when, on Sunday mornings, we left early to go and eat it by the sea. Ki Kitchen Inspires REVIEWS ANOTHER LOCATION IN LUGANO, I Calafatari in via Fusoni 18 - Lugano. Walking around Lugano, they took me to this characteristic place, located on the edge of a river, so why not review it. The name was completely new to me, upon asking for explanations they told me that these were factories that waterproofed boats. The location, the restaurant is located on a road with some parking problems but it is clearly visible also because it is very characteristic and does not go unnoticed. We are welcomed like in a home, with two ladies with a strong Sicilian accent who accompany us to the table. Intrigued, I enter the restaurant and see a tank with fresh fish which immediately makes you understand the quality you are going to eat. Once seated, the focus is immediately on us, they give us a Menu, but not the usual one on paper or on a tablet... they put an entire blackboard on the table which makes the environment very convivial but still distinct. The service is excellent and very personal, a lot of chatter is spent making you feel at home, whilst maintaining a certain distinctive tone. They advise us to take various tastings and obviously, how to contradict them. The service is quite fast and the first courses arrive, a grilled octopus with radicchio and courgette cream and you realize that the raw material is fresh and above all they know what they're doing. All dishes are served with a continuous change of dishes, all different and not homogeneous, colourful, golden, in short...homemade. The fish is processed with great attention to the raw material, you might expect a special plating, but instead it is served as you would at home. This, in another place, would be a disadvantage while here... it isn't at all. Some mussels arrived with a sauce that spoke for itself, homemade with fresh tomatoes, so much so that we made a little slip and cleaned everything. It's time for the mixed fried food, although it was a late hour, it was still perfect, clear and above all not greasy, finally a pasta with clams closed the dinner in an excellent way. How can you not accept Sicilian cannoli? Well...now let's dedicate a real criticism and not just a mere description of the facts. The service is homely but refined, which gives this place an extra must if you prefer good food and the excellent company of people who spend words with you with adequate portions. The food is cooked to perfection, demonstrating great knowledge and care of the raw material. The place has its own character, its own style which however is not heavy and not tired. Definitely a great place to eat. If I wanted to rage, I could talk about a wrong dish, but how could I ever do that, given that with great kindness and humility, it wasn't even invoiced. The cost is perfectly normal, almost below average given the fish-based dinner, therefore excellent value for money. If we want to make a note, if they managed to plate everything up, enhancing their dishes even more, they could probably become the best in the area. My vote is full and my advice is to let yourself be transported to Sicily for a few hours, letting yourself be pampered by those two women who make you feel those authentic flavours. Frequento il Calafatari da diverso tempo e non sono mai stato deluso. Sempre ottimi e diversificate le proposte esposte sulla lavagna. Antipasti di crudo piacevoli così come il polipo alla piastra ed il calamaro alla piastra. I primi con sapori di mare fresco ed ottimi anche i secondi. Offerta dei vini siciliani di ottima qualità di cui preferisco le bollicine del Murgo.

Mi sarebbe piaciuto provare la loro cucina ma risulta totalmente non accessibile alle sedie a rotelle e mi hanno detto di non avere una rampa per poter superare i gradini. nel 2020 a Lugano non è un bel biglietto da visita.

Sono pochi i ristorante italiani di qualità a Lugano che mantengano ciò che promettono: questo è uno di questi ed è senz'altro uno dei migliori luoghi culinari della città per ciò che concerne materia ittica. Il pesce è elaborato e presentato al meglio con vere ricette sicule della più veritiera tradizione: dai primi, davvero ottimi ai secondi sapientemente elaborati, tra cui si segnala il fritto di pesce tra i migliori della città in assoluto ed anche i dolci di indubbia qualità. Certo, il locale, nel suo esterno meriterebbe di più ma meglio alta qualità nel piatto che nel luogo di accoglienza dei clienti. Complimenti!

Negativo .ci sarebbe piaciuto molto commentare questo posto se non ci avessero fatto attendere 40min a pane e acqua . a parte questo il pesce esposto sembrava fresco .ma dopo 40 minuti di attesa senza alcuna attenzione siamo andati via nonostante l'originale trovata del menu scritto sulla lavagnetta . nel 2020 non è più accettabile una attesa del genere neanche se ci fosse il padreterno in persona ai fornelli

Ottimo ristorante di pesce. Sicuramente consigliato. Unica pecca i prezzi un po’ troppo elevati anche se è risaputo che il pesce costa, specialmente se fresco. Forse si potrebbero abbassare un po’ oppure aumentare le quantità sul piatto.

I came here for supper with my brother, we had been genuinely pleased with the modern food and the prices. Mi esposo me llevó a este restaurante de mariscos sicilianos para nuestro aniversario. Sabrá lo que sirve este restaurante tan pronto como ingrese. Ves el mar de vitaminas. Todo el personal fue muy amable en primer lugar. El servicio fue rápido, lo que realmente me gustó. La comida que tuvimos fue increíble. Camarones sicilianos, pulpo con crema de calabacín, mariscos fritos y el postre también. El vino era tan sabroso que quería pedir una botella más. Había muchas mesas afuera también, quiero volver en primavera. Realmente lo pasé muy bien aquí.

Se volete mangiare siciliano a Lugano purtroppo rimarrete delusi. Questo ristorante è un ristorante esclusivamente di pesce (buono e fresco), privo di piatti di verdure (solo la caponata come contorno, molto buona, e anche questa non sul menu) o altri piatti tipici della cucina siciliana. Porzioni molto piccole e prezzi direi sopra la media (nonostante le buone materie prime). Un ristorante prettamente per cene di lavoro, servizio decisamente migliorabile. Consiglio il ristorante siciliano Filippo La Mantia a Milano.

Buon ristorante ma con poche porzioni , proprio misere . La cameriera Buon servizio ma poteva evitare di dire che il pane congelato lo scongelano al momento , con i prezzi svizzeri potevano avere il pane fresco .

Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante per caso, esperienza che amo fare, assumendomi il rischio di rimanere delusa. Cosa che qui non è assolutamente successo, è stata un'esperienza davvero piacevole. Abbiamo assaporato diversi piatti di ottimo pesce.La cucina è tipica siciliana per cui abbiamo terminato la cena con dei fantastici cannoli.Ottima anche sia l'accoglienza e il servizio.

Mi sono ritrovato a pranzare a I Calatafari all'ultimo minuto dopo un incontro di lavoro e ho ricevuto una gradita sorpresa da questo ristorante che non conoscevo ancora a Lugano. La cucina è tipica Siciliana quindi a maggioranza pesce. Abbiamo iniziato con alici marinate con peperoncino che davano quel tocco in più di sapore alle già ottime alici. I miei commensali hanno preso spaghetti alle vongole che a detta loro erano davvero buoni. E per portata principale abbiamo diviso un fritto di calamari. Calamari che erano davvero morbidi nella loro frittura e davvero buoni. Il pranzo è stato accompagnato da un Vino bianco prodotto da uve di Nera della zona di Ragusa Ibla. Per finire abbiamo preso dei cannoli e del gelato al pistacchio. Che dire, un'ottima sorpresa scoperta all'ultimo minuto. Consigliato se si vogliono sperimentare i sapori della Sicilia in Canton Ticino.
