I had a vanilla croissant in this cafe for the first time, which was very delicious. No visit there without eating a vanilla croissant.

Top service and very good lunch menus. In summer there is a nice roof terrace. Price and performance is very good, highly recommended.

The saleswomen were great, unfortunately there was no way to sit down for breakfast at that time, only a bar table. Time was 7 a.m.

Although we were sitting at a table of our choice (it was set for 4 people) with the permission of the other waitress, the other waitress wanted to take us from this table to another table in an unfriendly manner. After I said several times that we wanted this table, she insisted on it until we left the restaurant when the restaurant was 70% empty. Unbelievable, unfriendly and a shame... Lunch on February 25th, 2023 Unfortunately I was very dissatisfied with the cooking skills. I ordered fish crispy and french fries and not only the crispy fries but also the fries were so oily that they made me sick. I could only eat a fraction of it. Despite a complaint and confirmation from the kitchen that the dish was a failure, I had to pay the full price. Not even coffee was offered. Very disappointed!

Simply the BEST bakery in St. Gallen. Here they still know how to make a REAL St. Galler Bürli. My grandfather was once a baker in St. Fiden. The selection is large. The goods taste good! I'm already trying my best not to stress out the kitchen because of my allergies. But this evening with you was shameful and an imposition! I now know that I would have to bring my own sauces for the Fondue Chinoise, but I'm happy to forego that! I was a daily customer at your bakery and have always recommended it, including for cakes, but tonight was an imposition and my last visit to Gschwend!

We went there several times for dinner in the evening. In winter there is Fondue Chinoise, which is really very good and plentiful. In summer you can sit on the terrace and drink a coffee. The staff is nice, the well-shaded terrace is a highlight, including a crowing rooster from the neighborhood property. There is a deduction for the open skylight next to which we were placed. The noise and smells that come out are rather detrimental to a cozy meal. For a cafe, the quality of the coffee is pretty to very modest. This is a shame and can usually be remedied with little.
