Rude and arrogant manager! He boasts of uniquely sourced local and international food ingredients, but gets upset if a client asks for Chai Latte probably because its too common and nothing special for this Michelin Star restaurant. However, serves Ovamaltine hot chocolate (available in any supermarket)! Absolutely zero stars for customer service!

Since I just wanted to have something to drink, I was shown straight out of the restaurant. With the arrogant hint, there is a food stand opposite. In other words, you have to eat in a restaurant. Very bad service, and certainly no style.

Great views. Very busy, so reservation is a must. The food was nice, tasty, and well presented. They were able to make a pasta dish for our kid, which wasn't on the menu. However, the service lacked attentiveness and mostly rushed. We had to ask for a water refill, they forgot to bring cheese and coffee that we ordered. They could have done better considering the price.

We were in this restaurant for the first time. The money, the food and the restaurant are not worth the price, rich kids just sit down even though the table is reserved for someone else, the chairs are cheap and uncomfortable. Water is served directly without asking for preferences. The spaghetti bolognese for 28.- should have been outstanding for the price, but it wasn't. The salad was oversalted and nothing special. The service seems chaotic, with no apparent system. Customers with more expensive orders are served faster. Tables are cleaned with a rag; I expect a Michelin restaurant to disinfect the tables. Wine and champagne bottles at the bar are not sealed. We had pork cheeks with mashed potatoes, salad and spaghetti Bolognese for 130.-

We were able to spend a great day on the Gütsch with Markus and David. We were served an amuse bouche, followed by 7 starters and a main course, cheese and dessert. Everything well proportioned over 4 hours. We felt like we were in heaven. This way of eating is absolute madness. The selection of Valais wines was also a poem.

The place and the view are stunning! The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and professional. We had the steak tartar, sauteed foie gras, truffled duck breast, and the tagliatelle with mussels and seafood. Everything was delicious, and the wine perfectly matched the food. Definitely in the pricey range, but expected and reasonable due to the location and awards. In a nutshell, gorgeous views, excellent food and wine, and friendly and professional service. Difficult to ask for more! We will be back soon!

Feb. 23: Now I wanted to know: I invited a group of young ski camp students to the posh restaurant for coffee: No problem: the service was courteous and friendly, uncomplicated, the coffee was fine, the view was great. It is not a given that you will receive a friendly welcome when you storm a posh restaurant unannounced with a large group of young people: the test has been passed here. Keep it up! Summer 21: The view and the friendly, funny service are so impressive that you order more than you are actually hungry or can afford. But what you get is sophisticated. Both the tartare as a starter were convincing with a glass of white wine (recommendation of the house). The pork cheeks in beer were tender and really went well with a deep, sweet beer note marinated on fine celery foam. After a while we treated ourselves to another dessert: we don't skimp on quantities: my piece of plum cake was aromatic and tasty.

We came for lunch while staying in Andermatt. The restaurant is on the end of the Gütsch cable car. The view is amazing. When you come in, you suddenly notice this is not a simple mountain restaurant: the ambiance is elegant with a modern and clean style. Service is top: friendly and knowledgeable. The first impressions were great, but we were expecting more from the food: we know Markus Neff from other restaurants and this time we were not impressed. We had the tartare, the guinea fowl and ox cheeks: taste was good, but nothing was really special. Portions are rather big, so a tartare starter can be shared in 2. Wine list is good for a mountain restaurant. Overall, I was expecting a bit more from the food for a 1 star restaurant.

No little things, just big menus. 5*, at least in terms of price. Luckily there is cola, mineral water and spritzer - even if it's not on the menu. The feeling is that as a male individual you are less liked or perceived, maybe it's just a feeling. The view is great, unfortunately there are not enough parasols, you don't stay in the blazing sun for long.

Great Apfelstrudel. With gluten but fine with 2 Gluten Guardian. Nice ambience and view. Unfortunately they don’t care about coffee much and use an automation machine instead of a real espresso portafilter setup. Not sure if it is organic coffee. They did not know what a “cortado” is. Typically for places with low coffee standards. Would expect better in a Michelin star restaurant. Service is in very good mood. People who leave a bad review because it’s not a cheap food place like most of Swiss mountain restaurants. I don’t understand. Just go to Nätschen and enjoy your low quality 8 CHF sausage? Or pay 30 CHF for a low quality meal in most other restaurants on Swiss mountains? I am happy that Andermatt has some better restaurants.

Food: The food was of excellent quality and for a place quite busy in the middle of ski season it was nicely prepared. The portions were surprisingly large for a restaurant of this style and caliber. Drink: They of course have an excellent wine card as one might expect at a 1 Michelin starred restaurant. The pairing recommendations played very nicely. They have a fairly generic automatic coffee machine that I wouldn’t expect to see in such an establishment. Service: The service was good. They took our jackets, led us to our table and while they were maybe a bit harried because it was busy it felt reasonably balanced with the exception of there being too many tables in too small a space. Ambiance: The restaurant has a stunning and remarkable view at the top of a ski piste, but the restaurant, the tables and seating really are not remarkable. Regarding the table spacing; there isn’t really much space to navigate so I felt like the servers were squeezing around the restaurant trying to serve food and it was distracting and in general made the experience feel a lot less pleasurable.

The service is very bad and you have to wait a long time for the food. And the staff are not above any excuse. The best part was where the waiter asked us for the final coffee, but we were still waiting for the main course. If you want to sell overpriced food, the staff has to be worthy. It's a shame that only some chef gets the points, but every other mountain inn is more customer-friendly than this Gütsch At least the food was delicious... The stay as such was not worthy of 16 points... Absolutely disappointing and not recommended.

I made a reservation for the restaurant at the hotel The Chedi, but it's on top of a mountain where you have to take a cable lift. At that point, I was surprised. Although it is called The Japanese, it seems a little suspicious. However, there were some delicious items such as sushi and silver cod teriyaki. It's hard to judge whether it's worth the price, but I think it's still expensive. The problem was customer service, when I entered the restaurant, no one came to ask me where I wanted to be seated.I asked for a seat by the window and they started setting the table, but when I tried to sit down, I was told it was another customer's seat, and the bill was over. Also, it felt like they wouldn't open the locked door at the entrance. I get the impression that they are not used to the operation in the first place. Also, it was before closing time, but I was putting the soy sauce jug back into the large bottle (please stop taking that unnecessary effort and making it look dirty...). I wish they would turn soy sauce jugs into small bottles and dispose of them at an appropriate time.

That might be OK for sophisticated holidaymakers with deep pockets who want to escape from noisy Andermatt with its endless helicopter missions and construction sites into the mountains, and for ladies who have been injected with Botox and are carried up there in Gucci sneakers. But as a simple hiker, unfortunately it's just stupid. We would much prefer a normal mountain restaurant that would deserve its name with fairly normal prices without any gourmet labels and that also welcomes people who come on foot. If there are two different restaurants, why do they both have to be so exclusive and aimed at the same exotic target audience with completely overpriced prices? Why should we eat Japanese here in the Swiss Alps? Somehow normal hikers in Gütsch don't fit into the concept and only disturb the beautiful view...

An absolutely special place to enjoy Japanese food. The little Chedi restaurant at the top of the mountain. The food was absolutely great, tasted extremely harmoniously and every course was a taste explosion in itself. I've never had such an exclusive meal on the ski slopes, but it was definitely worth it. The only downside was that you had to take off your ski boots and there wasn't a single Swiss waitress in the restaurant, which probably doesn't bother the foreign Chedi customers.
