Hangar 9 in Basel

We had dinner at Hangar 9 this evening, unfortunately we had a very bad experience. We wanted to spend a cozy evening with a meal and then go to the casino. Unfortunately we apparently ordered the wrong menu - the schnitzel was undercooked and tasted like old oil. When we told the waitress, her answer was that she would tell the kitchen and we had already complained. What's wrong we ate twice and everything was good and we had nothing to complain about. When we told her this, her answer was no, we had already complained, which wasn't the case. We then described the incident to the Chef de Service. He apologized and gave us drinks. The waitress just grinned cheekily at us during the conversation. Unfortunately, that spoiled our evening and we won't be going to Hangar 9 any time soon, if at all. The behavior of the waitress is unacceptable.

I highly recommend this restaurant and we will come back every time. We celebrated a family celebration and made reservations well in advance. We were welcomed by the staff with the utmost professionalism. The table was excellently prepared for us and in the evening we were looked after by the waiters Hervé, Julien and the chef Hischem. Friendship, professionalism, discretion, very high quality services and divine food. The attention to the children and the friendliness of the staff towards them is to be appreciated. Overall, the main courses and dessert were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff and delicious food gave us a wonderful dining experience.

I would have thought that you could still eat so well in Basel, even late at night. The food and drink (great wines by the way!) deserve 5 stars, the whole team including the restaurant staff even more! I often travel late on business and am so glad that you can still eat so well - until late in the evening. Thank you!

Unacceptable! Overpriced for more than mediocre quality! Food worse than the canteen. We had a burger, all the ingredients are of the lowest quality possible. Avoid at all costs!!! Run away !!!

Usually I do not give 1-star reviews to restaurants, as there is always something positive about the experience. Hangar 9 proved me wrong. This was by far the worst food I tried in the last 10+ years of my life (including some of my own creations, which are often very messed up). To start, only the burger patties were Swiss meat. The rest of the menu contained meat and fish imported from all over the world (this at least explains the depressing airport-inspired decor). We had a salad and venison. Latter was so dry my stomach cramped up, while former looked like a messed-up version of the supermarket salad buffet (in a very cheap supermarket). The sides of my venison were equally dreadful, dry, and most definitely not homemade. Not even a school cantine can mess up food this badly. In summary, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I arrived starving, and in retrospect would have prefered to stay that way.

The worst food I had in many years. Meat was super dry and all salats looked and tasted like they were bought at Lidl. Chicken is from Poland.

We were invited to the Grand Casino Basel for an event and had no idea until now that there was such a good restaurant there. Hangar 9 impresses with its very special aviation-related charm and its friendly, attentive staff. It was a culinary highlight. Tasty dishes, divine desserts, excellent wine, coffee and much more. Simply wonderful, THANK YOU SO MUCH! We can highly recommend Hangar 9.

We've been there twice to try our luck at the casino and also had dinner at Hangar 9. The staff greeted us with a friendly smile and were also very attentive. The food and drinks always came very quickly and tasted very good. The motivated staff more than deserve these five stars. We will be back.

I celebrated my birthday at Hangar 9. I chose a group offer with a three-course meal, introduction to the casino and starting capital. All in all, all of us participants were very pleasantly surprised by the very friendly service and organization. The food tasted excellent and all of my guests were thrilled with the evening. I can absolutely recommend Hangar 9.

Food was ok but not very good. So not worth a visit for me. Had beef fillet and tartare. Something was definitely missing. In my opinion it was housewife quality. I'm also a chef and I know what I'm talking about. In any case it had nothing to do with cooking

The restaurant is very good ! The people there are awesome , very polite very good and very kind. It was a surprise having Petra speaking portuguese with us . It was very a good experience have dinner there. The profiterole is delicious .

Super fein und sehr freundlich! Das Local ist sehr herzlich und hat das entsprechende Ambiente. Essen war super lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man merkt, dass hier mit Herzblut gearbeitet wird. Gerne wieder!

Gluschtige Burger mit Pommes, breite Auswahl an Getränken und eine witzige Idee eines Hangar 9. Das frische Konzept gefällt und passt gut in die Umgebung mit Nähe zum Euro Airport.

Wir sind aufgrund der Bewertungen hier spontan vorbeigegangen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr leckeres Essen. Das Angus Filet ist wirklich hervorragend. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Musikgeschmack auch top. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Sehr zu empfehlen auch wenn man nicht an den Flughaften muss sondern einfach mal gut essen möchte in Basel. Parkplätze vorhanden.

My girlfriend and I just had the most amazing meal. The food was delicious, expertly prepared and a great atmosphere. The waiters were great too. There was a bit of a mess in the toilet when I went it, but the staff were really grateful when I let them know and sorted it straight away. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, I'm looking forward even more to my next Swiss get away, top compliments to the chef

Wir waren zu einem Geburtstag eingeladen worden und waren positiv überrascht worden von der gemütlichen Atmosphäre in dieser Location.Der Empfang des Personals wahr sehr freundlich und angenehm.Wir bekamen zuerst ein rechhaltiger Apero und ausgelesene Getränke.Danach wurden wir verwöhnt mit einem Gala- Diner , dass in Allen Belangen erstklassig war. Die Suppe und die Vorspeise waren vom Feinsten wie auch der Hauptganng. Absolut professionelle Zubereitung was das Fleisch anbelangt, besser geht es nicht. Diese Location kann wirklich empfolen werden . War ein schöner Abend und wir werden sicher wieder dort privat einkehren

No he expresado "Haute - Cuisine" en un hotel de aeropuerto. Gran sorpresa.Todos los platos eran especiales, salsas geniales, aspecto moderno.Usualmente soy muy crítico con la carne, pero el filete era excepcional y me devolvió la creencia a la carne.

Hervorragendes Essen, insbesondere das irische Angus Beef vom irischen Chefkoch perfekt zubereitet. Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis.

Ein kulinarischer Höhenflug......das Essen war vorzüglich, für den Gaumen und für das Auge... perfekter freundlicher Service trotz vollem Restaurant. Wir kommen wieder.

Das Hotel liegt im Airport Hotel sehr gutes Frühstück, aber teuer. Wir haben dort keine anderen Mahlzeiten gegessen. Wir haben im Casino im selben Hotel gegessen und es war ausgezeichnet.
