Heligrill in Rümlang

Doesn't exist there anymore... it's just a big construction site.

I was there once when there were still snacks. I think the location is great but unfortunately the food cart is no longer there and it has already been expanded.

The grill is in the helicopter. Hamburger with a fine shell, tiptop. Can also be reached by car from the Rümlang side. Viewing platform is right next to it.

For those who can't get enough of the sight of airplanes landing and taking off, this is a very excellent place close to Zurich Airport.

Snack stand directly at the airport - runway 34/16. Unfortunately, the location will soon be a thing of the past. Due to the expansion of the airport, the Heligrill will be displaced. It should be rebuilt to the north of the same access, but this is still open due to an objection.

The ambience was something special, it was being dredged up and totally overcrowded (of course because of the aviation.🤣) 750 years of the airport

You have to have been here. I was intrigued by the idea of ​​converting a helicopter into a snack bar. Plus directly at the airport and a delicious currywurst. Perfect!

Original restaurant very good fries

I recommend the currywurst. Great sauce/sausage. And the fries are delicious too ✅

Unfortunately the fries (large 11CHF) were too darkly fried and had no taste at all. The helicopter snack bar looks good.

Very nice place and meeting point to stop off and take a break. My recommendation is the chicken curry salad. The staff is very friendly. Tables and space are always clean.

Bratwurst without taste, old bread with green mold on top.. 🤢 And that with the prices! According to previous reviews, it's no exception that rotten food is served... It's a shame about the beautiful place, the operator has to keep the books behind so that something like this doesn't happen again.

Friendly staff Very fine hamburgers, French fries and curry sausage, especially the sauce was very tasty. Price rather upper limit. clean toilets available (even free) there is a tent with tables and chairs to eat in colder temperatures. There was enough parking space. But it certainly wasn't very busy.

No vegetarian menu except fries. This is a pity. But the location is great, you have a view of two runways.

Original snack in the old Soviet one! Helicopter with the usual offer. The bratwurst was good, the curry sausage definitely needs improvement. Lots of mush and little sausage at a good price. The refusal to accept cash is not so original; customers should be given the choice. The Swiss franc is still the official currency.

The prices should not be noted here, but what is wrong is the declaration of the food. The well-known currywurst is served, but for profit with Cervelat instead of the well-known and more expensive bratwurst. Pure rip-off in my opinion. Additionally, on our last visit (we live nearby), I was served rotten meat when I ordered a burger. My stomach realized this after 2 minutes of finishing the meal. It was excruciating and we had to leave straight away because I was feeling very bad. Walking the few km home with the family was an ordeal that I wouldn't wish on anyone in this world! Poorly signposted and the fences to the meadow should be replaced or dismantled... I can't rate the snack bar because it's not used.

I wanted to eat and drink coffee at the Heligrill today, which unfortunately fell through because only card payment is possible. Cash (paper and coins) is still available in Switzerland. Banknotes are legal tender (Art. 2 WZG) for which there is an obligation to accept them (Art. 3 WZG). I don't buy GL's reasoning about hygiene, but rather the distrust of the employees that they could steal. Shameful actually. The card fees are nothing to sneeze at given the many customers. But then you move on to Route 90 Grill and More Oberglatt they still take money. Addendum Thanks for the reply. But the Runway34 also has the same criticism about paying in cash.

Guys... currywurst can definitely be better! Anyway...Not. It's more cooked, better grilled. Fries are ok. Sauce ok too. But the sausage... No go.

The boss and a young woman were totally rude and actually claimed that we hadn't paid for French fries even though they never called our number. We politely went with the number slip to ask when we would receive our fries (after waiting for over 30 minutes!!!) and then the lady said completely unexpectedly: You have already picked them up. I thought it was very cheeky and very unprofessional behavior Afterwards the boss came to our table and also claimed that we had already picked it up even though the lady had given it to us... and this in front of our small children. As if we needed to steal fries!!! Attention, a lollipop actually costs CHF 2.10!!!!!

Dear Heligrill team, the constantly changing opening times are very tedious! You arrive at 3:45 p.m. (closing at 4 p.m.) and would like to buy warm food (from the very attractive offer) and are told that the kitchen is already cold and tidy!? So when I go shopping at Migros/COOP/Denner/Lidl etc., even shortly before closing, I still find fresh vegetables and other goods to buy! Best regards BCFülller!

8/24/22 The location is sensational, great views and there is always something to watch. Only the snack, i.e. the food is very disappointing. We had a currywurst and a poultry burger. The currywurst, more like sausages, was never a normal-sized sausage in terms of the number of pieces or just a part of a whole sausage. The sauce was ketchup with a little curry powder, a homemade sauce. The burger or paddy was “dry as far” as if it had been fried and then left lying around for a long time. The rather high price, which I owed to the location of the snack bar, does not in any way do justice to the quality of the food. Next meal, watch but without consumption. A pity.

The two of us ate here last Sunday and were unfortunately a bit disappointed. The pork sausage was very small and the bread that came with it was dry and quite limited. The large fries were also a small portion for me. For 10.90 Fr. you could get a few more shredded potatoes, I think. However, I can understand the rather long waiting time given the small kitchen and the large crowds. And everything was freshly prepared and tasted good! A compliment for that!

Visited the grill at the weekend and bought a beef hamburger with fries and two cans of beer. The price for everything was 33 Fr. odd. The Burger King is two kilometers further. There we would probably have gotten the same size (small) hamburgers, but twice for the same money. The prices are clearly too high for a grill of this quality and size. The food is also called out with the order number. We probably missed the call when a plane took off. So the hamburger and fries had already been sitting for a while. If a customer doesn't come, the staff could go out of the grill and bring the food to the customer's table, considering the prices are like in a restaurant.

Very good place for airplane enthusiasts🙃. Nice view of the flights and a restaurant (Heligrill) right next door. Staff very nice and polite.

Actually a nice place for a trip with the family but the prices are too high (5.20 Fr for a puddle of coffee in a paper cup that is too big) with poor quality food and also too expensive. Read here in response to less good feedback from customers, you just pass it on to management and quality management, but they seem to be resistant to advice.

When the weather is nice, you can order a drink and sit here and watch the planes take off and land. It is the roadside stall closest to the runway.

Nice snack stand on the western flank of the airport site in an old Russian helicopter. Next to it is a plane spotting hill, from which you can perfectly observe the passenger planes taking off on the west runway. Here you can get sausages, hot dogs, fries, etc. Very friendly customer service.

A great place for civil aviation enthusiasts! There is also a nice little metal terrace to take photos of the planes higher than the fence! The Swiss view the matter very favorably. I've been going to this place for 25 years and it's really nice!

In the last few years we have been regularly at the grill, be it for a walk with coffee or for a snack/lunch. Today we were so disappointed again that I have to write a review and hope the responsible owners change something. The quality of the food got worse over time and reached its peak today. The waitress was in a really bad mood and didn't continue cursing behind the grill. Prices extremely expensive for what you get. 1 burger with fries and drink & 1 curry sausage with fries and drink = 45 CHF!! Curry sausage was terrible, barely cooked through, the sausage was swimming in the sauce and the sauce was too sweet. Coke wasn't cold. Country Fries are terribly salty. The good woman didn't actually look that in love today. It's a shame such a great spot now has such poor cuisine and value for money. Next time we should bring our own stuff. A pity. Oh and the nice man in front of us also complained and was extremely upset, so we are not alone with our opinion.

Overpriced and only possible to pay by card is cheeky. In the future I will only stop at the other stand in Oberglatt and buy something. The service at the Heligrill isn't particularly friendly either.

Price performance of the food...- no way - definitely too expensive. 24.80 for 2 cervelats and two approx. 1 cm. thick slices of bread and two sweet drinks!!!...the waitress....would probably rather do something else than stand there. ....when asked if there was also a spicy sausage, she said boredly: no, there isn't and the rest is all on the menu...Quality management???!!!

The good thing about Heligrill is the location. That's probably why people dare to charge such outrageous prices. Since Runway 34 took over the Heligrill, prices have risen to absurd levels. I'm not stingy, but charging 5.20 for an espresso in a paper cup is very cheeky. Just for comparison: You can get an espresso for 5.30 at the luxurious Sprüngli on Zurich's Paradeplatz. In the cup, served and with a Luxemburgerli!! I used to often be a guest at Heligrill (the coffee cost 3.50 back then). Today I avoid the Heligrill. It's usually closed when I'm there anyway. The opening times are the second negative point of criticism. Bad publicity for Runway 34.

Good bratwurst, but the canned beer was expired and stale. When I asked, it turned out that all the beer cans were expired, only a few days old, but at 6.90chf for 0.5l I'm really disappointed. I was offered another, expired beer but no refund. Pretty stingy! 2 stars only because of the good bratwurst, otherwise it would be zero because of the service and price...

This hamburger 🍔 helicopter was a big surprise to me. It didn't look like a very professional restaurant and the service was not very friendly but the food was a huge surprise. The hamburger was really done the right way, as I would have done at home. The french fries was country style and perfectly cooked. You should definitely not hesitate to order here and you will not be disappointed.

Once and never again, even though I said please fry the cervelat and bratwurst well, both were barely grilled and served cold. The small piece of bread that came with it was just ridiculous. Next time we'll go back to the Rout90 Grill😎

Unfortunately you can only pay by card. Then I had to move on again. But I still enjoyed the viewpoint and watched the takeoffs and landings. Also has a toilet facility. Could be a little cleaner. But better than nothing.
