Hoi An in Lac Léman (VD)

Glad we found an Asian resto in Ouchy. Food was really delicious and very appetising. Crab soup was full of flavours, very nice during the cold weather. Staff were also very accommodating. Highly recommended this place if you visit Lausanne.

The dishes are very good, the services very good. Many of the fruits and vegetables are local and grown on site. Thank you for everything !

Quality of dishes rather low. The service is passable but, unfortunately, the waitress didn't understand anything and answered all the questions. All this ultimately comes at a high price. Questionable hygiene. There are much better Vietnamese restaurants in the region.

Great experience with delicious food and lovely service. It can get a bit loud on buffet night, and the cooking smell will come home with you, but you get to experience freshly cooked made-to-order all-you-can-eat vietnamese food.

Not recommended. We waited 50 minutes for our food. Overpriced, ordinary cuisine, inadequate and downright aggressive service. Too bad, because it was a restaurant that we enjoyed in the past.

The Peking duck could have been more tender....but the sauce was good.

We ate there in the evening so we didn't have the view. Like many restaurants in Switzerland, the dishes are quite expensive, but here it's definitely worth it: the products are very fresh and the taste of each dish is incredible. One of the best bo buns of my life!

An endless wait of over ONE HOUR for us to come take our order. We had reservations for 15 people, okay but no one came to ask us to take our orders. Anyway, after 1h45 we received our dishes. 5 people ordered a BBQ...the Grill was tiny and we only had tongs... At the end of the meal, no apology, no commercial gesture... nothing. Disappointing !!

Breathtaking view and feet in the water of Lake Geneva

Very bad experience. We booked for a birthday, there were just under 20 of us. Arriving at 7:15 p.m., no one came to offer us an aperitif. After an hour of waiting, we started to lose our patience. All our hand signals were ignored. We had to get up several times to ask for someone to come. 8:30 p.m.: A waiter FINALLY comes to ask us what we want. Still happy, we already had the cards on the table. Given the time, we had to resign ourselves to not having the aperitif and ordered starters, main courses and drinks directly. At my table, there were 5 of us using the grill (this information is important for later). I ask what the quantity of meat is, or if it is galore, I am told: Between 100 maybe 250gr (??). It would be good to know the information to know if we should take supplements on the side. 9:15 p.m.: The entrance finally arrives. 9:45 p.m.: A grill arrives with meat and vegetables to grill. When the starter is eaten in 5 minutes, another 40 minutes to wait is a long time. 10:30 p.m.: Not even half of our food was grilled because 5 people for a small grill doesn't leave much room to put the food. We couldn't eat the raw vegetables because they were placed on top of the raw chicken. We tried calling the server for a 2nd grill with no luck. So we got up, looked for another table, another grill that was lying further away and installed everything ourselves. We finally finished grilling everything at 11:20 p.m. So we didn't even have time to have dessert or coffee. The only positive point I remember is the view of the lake.

Good Vietnamese food with a nice view

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It must be admitted that the place is nice, balcony located facing the port of Ouchy but everything else leaves something to be desired. We reserved two tables for a birthday, firstly it took an hour to come and offer us drinks. And if it was just an oversight... it would be annoying but not insulting... we would have to get up and call 3 times before a waiter would take our order from the moment we threatened to leave... What more can I say except that the person in charge of our order made it clear in her attitude that she was drunk. Ok, maybe it was a special night but given the other reviews, I have the impression that this is quite common. The starters arrived 30 minutes after ordering and we were served the rice 20-25 minutes before the main course (fortunately in terracotta pots which retained the heat) Let's talk about prices, portion sizes and quality. I really feel like I ate at a classic Asian restaurant for 3x the price and less quantity. An assortment of starters for 30 Chf which is the price of a main course and which is not as filling... orange chicken for 28 Chf with Cantonese rice, child portion. The prize goes to the moment of cashing out where one of us received a “only that?” Because he had taken less. I sincerely hope we were unlucky but given the repeated signs I find it difficult to find excuses. Despite everything, I hope that you will be well served unlike us during our experience.

We came to eat with friends. Unfortunately they didn't have our reservation even though I had reserved online, however it was ok so we could still eat. We asked for a table outside but everything was booked. Finally we had Théo, our server for the evening, who worked miracles and found us a table on the terrace. We ate very well. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back.

Poor and cold reception. Reserved table was given to other customers. The head of the room asks to accept another table. Not cleaned and unclean floor and starts to put the placemats, does not accept the remark, and asks us to go elsewhere if we are not happy! The empty buffet! The grill has an endless line. Dirty dishes on the majority of tables. Stress felt throughout the room. Drinks to fetch! Organization leaves something to be desired. Not worthy of a restaurant... for a buffet there were 8 of us and we all left hungry! I don't recommend.

Shameful restaurant, waiter who gave away the table we had reserved. Waiter who tells us that if we are not happy we can go elsewhere. EMPTY buffet no rice no duck. Waiter who forgot us for the drinks. Restaurant which leaves us no choice to have a dish because too many people. Kitchen where they grill the meat was filthy, no cleanliness. Table where we eat and dirty floor. I do not recommend at all.

Honestly a shame, the food is great but the service is catastrophic. 3 servers, 1 at the bar, 1 who takes orders 1 table by 1 table and 1 who serves. Arrived at 7:30 p.m. we took our order at 9:00 p.m.... with no drinks, nothing. Really a shame because the location gives a magnificent view of the lake and the food is very good.

Worst restaurant of my life. Very sincerely, lousy buffet, small, cold, bone-in and fatty meats, no, honestly, it's theft to charge 40chf for that. Even for 15chf I won't pay for what I was able to eat in this restaurant. I don't know what the meals are like in terms of menus but in any case the buffet TO BE AVOID! It's really a shame. A tourist trap. I want to say more things worse than that but I stop myself. Just disgusting. And I don't like to use that term. But this is even too nice. Ashamed.

Came several times before, the prices have increased, the view of the lake is ok.... but what can we say about the cuisine which is nothing more, an appetizing sauce to cover up the misery, the rice has to be ordered separately, the dish is already around thirty francs. This evening regrettable service. To ask for something, you have to ask several times, we are charged for dishes that were not ordered. Sorry for them but 2/5

It was so good, but the price is high.

The prices have increased, an ordinary carafe of tap water charged 3 francs and a coffee ordered never received.....not to mention all the sparrows flying all over the tables. Hygiene is not ideal! The food remains OK.

Four people, four dishes, four times satisfaction. Outdoor terrace with a view over the marina and lake. The attentive staff quickly brought the aperitif and took the order. Delicious starters raised expectations for the main courses. We weren't disappointed. We were able to enjoy our food, which was tasty and rich with an attractive presentation. Gladly again!

An excellent surprise. We had dinner this Saturday night. We found a crowded restaurant, but despite that with a super friendly welcome. With a perfectly acceptable waiting time for a house of this size. And surprise everyone, the quality of the products is truly incredible. A family and super welcoming environment. Having come about ten years ago and having had rather good memories, we returned to eat in this restaurant and were extremely disappointed. Our order was forgotten, order errors appeared on all the surrounding tables that same evening, ours included, and instead of apologizing and making a gesture, the manager only blamed his employees. He himself came to bring us certain dishes without even recognizing them to know who to give them to (he did not distinguish between shrimp and duck). This shows how little he knows his menu and his dishes. Don't go there you get what you pay for as the prices are not cheap either. A little more than 50 francs per person on average for the group we were in (for 1 main course with 1 drink and mini starter shared between everyone without desserts or coffee). A punishment for a restaurant so well located by the lake and whose dishes are not fundamentally bad. As long as the owner has not restored his restaurant, don't go there!

the service in the restaurant is too poor, eat at the buffet from 8am to 8:45am there is no more food, they say the food is sold out and they have to save food to sell for the next Sunday morning buffet. Order a drink 30 minutes later, there is a drink, the restaurant owner and his wife are not friendly, there is a customer who faints at the shop instead of the boss helping, the restaurant owner and his wife are very uncomfortable with the customer. They were very very very slow. Absence of personnel. They didn’t see us entering , they didn’t bother coming to serve us. They were lost at some point and going around taking orders. After 25 mins of waiting they came to us and we ordered , so we ate after 1 hour at least. This is a no go for a restaurant. The servers were very polite but I guess they are not many, so the manager of this restaurant is not managing very well the resources or needs more. We felt the absence of management of the restaurant. Taste : we got 2 dishes, not bad , it reminded of me a typical Chinese place. I mean not something special you don’t find around. Very pricey for what you get. At a Chinese place you eat with 16 chf and the steam rice costs 1-2 chf. Here a typical chicken dish costs 28 chf and the steam rice 4 chf ! We also got spring rolls and a coke and paid 96 chf !!!! For two average dishes and a soft drink that elsewhere it would have cost me 45chf . Atmosphere : inside is better than outside. Pity they make so much money and they invest zero to their appearance that reminds me of a 60s facility of basic plastic chairs and tables. The installation does not justify the prices of their menu. When you see I from outside with the cement like it is just now built and not even painted, you expect a very cheap place but what a surprise! In short: waste of money . if you like Asian food, better order a delivery and enjoy the atmosphere of your place it will cost you less and you will eat sooner.

We waited 40 minutes and unfortunately we were served even after we asked. Afterwards there was an unfriendly farewell from the restaurant as “dessert”.

A nice place to enjoy Vietnamese food close to lake Geneva

We had an excellent time in this restaurant, we were served by Theo who took very good care of us, we will come back with pleasure.

One of a kind experience, we have never been treated so badly in a restaurant. We asked to split the bill because we were attending a conference. Not only was it not possible, the restaurateur told us that it was "impossible due to too much work" but he remained for 10 minutes shouting at us, even in his own language, even though we calmly explained the needs to him. As for the rest, very long waits. Some unpleasant dishes and food not up to par. I will never set foot there again. Sin

Please, do not go there. Overly priced. 10CHF for a bottle of water! Service was slow even if there was not many people. The food was not very tasty either.

1 hour wait, an impressive confusion of service for a first experience it's average we had to remind the waiter 3 or 4 times for our wine..we drank half the glass and in despair mode we left because we were hungry. . a good smell was released yet we would have liked a commercial gesture for the hour spent waiting business is business

They have very good Vietnamese food, I recommend going there during the week, there will be fewer people. A superb view of the port of Ouchy and Lake Geneva.

It appears that there is a problem synchronizing/managing reservations made online. There were several of us who had our reservations confirmed, but once we arrived, no table! Luckily for us (but not everyone was so lucky), a nice waitress managed to find space for us, thanks to her! Disappointing food, almost obligatory buffet on Sunday lunch (otherwise long wait).

Restaurant facing the port, the atmosphere during the week is more pleasant than at the weekend (buffet day). We preferred to go there during the week, because on the weekend, there were too many people, it smelled of burning throughout the restaurant. 3/4 of the dishes are pork and duck, so if you don't like that, don't even bother. And regarding the desserts, it's quite disappointing: there were Snickers, candies, and canned fruit... It's not worth the price at all.

The waiters did not understand French, the waiting time for the cocktails was long, on the site we had seen that we could have the Chinese fondue but once there we were forced to eat the all-you-can-eat buffet and what's more it there wasn't much at the hot buffet (for a table of 10 people and they tried to charge us an extra person) plus we had brought a birthday cake which we had to go get ourselves because they didn't didn't understand a word of what we were saying (even in English) nothing to do with the Hoi An before.

I find that the recent comments on the establishment are not totally false.. because the restaurant has changed a lot.. while having the same owners… and I speak with knowledge of the facts… despite certain photos that you see on the site , a good part comes from the establishment.. or see the knowledge of the establishment... so don't rely too much... Because once there... we are disenchanted by the SERVICE and the proposals. 😵‍💫😵‍💫 and flavor levels… And the fact that this comment exists... it's because I would like the HOI AN from before to come back... with good service... and real flavor of the country... and not waiters and the boss who doesn't care about the good be customers... And of course, if you don't believe me or if you have spent 40 francs per person for a buffet that looks like nothing... don't hesitate to experience it... and comment on it for me.. This restaurant shames the Swiss community. In fact, the owner of the restaurant charged for a caraffe of water during lunch, justifying that it is the government which imposes it. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially since we are Vietnamese coming to settle in another country!!!

This restaurant is a disaster! Do not go ! I relied on a pretty video on Instagram… Nothing to see! Bad starters, main course with cold noodles, dried duck and cold, DIY wrap pancakes presented in their plastic packaging. Nothing to rinse your fingers with. Don't set foot there!

Very good buffet with lots of choice. The taste is authentic from Vietnam. The view is superb over the port, the lake and the Alps. Superb terrace for the summer. There is a very large car park nearby as well as the metro in Ouchy. Ideal location for walking and digesting your meal. A place with no shortage of arguments.

The quality of the dish is ok but expensive for what it is and not typical Vietnamese. The service is bad and slow because there is a lack of staff and the boss speaks very badly to her employee, and what's more, she is not particularly friendly with customers. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We went for dinner at the restaurant. My friend made a booking. Unfortunately when we got there there was not set menu but only a buffet dinner. We decided to stay and eat since we were already all hungry. The buffet was disappointing. Most of the food was already eaten and not refilled. We were really getting the leftovers. There was no spoons or forks for all the dishes to dish up. People started mixing to dish between dishes or used their hands. It was chaos and unorganised. We got served water out of broken jug with sharp glass pieces. And when we asked for one that’s not broken, they did not have more to give. The restaurant was super dirty as no one was taking away the dirty plates from the tables. I paid 42CHF to eat one tiny plate of food and some fruit. I ended up with an upset tummy for the full day after. Disappointing experience.
