We love this restaurant and are regular visitors. The food, the service and the wine + wine cellar are great and always worth an experience!

Great food, great service, loads of different options - highly recommend the surf & turf and the beef, the black garlic pasta was delicious as well.

The place is brilliant, the location, decor, service and food are all of the best quality. The flavors are surprising and at the same time wonderfully balanced. Worth a visit at any opportunity. The paste served on Valentine's Day was amazing.

Great restaurant. There is not only good food here, but also a beautiful view of the Limmat and the Hönggerwehr. The Europe Bridge doesn't bother us much. Giovanni and Tami Pecoraro have really made something of the venerable, six-story house that was built in 1896. For many years the Limmathof was the home of bad pubs. Fortunately, since the Pecoraros started wielding the trowel here at the end of 2022, this is no longer the case. The two previously ran the “Haus zum Rüden” in Niederdorf in the city center. The tenants intentionally keep the number of dishes on offer small. Quality is their top priority. This can also be seen. The Hönggerhof's Italian cuisine was awarded 14 points by "Gault Millau". Oh yes, not forgetting the over 100 types of wine that the restaurant has in stock. I can only recommend the Hönggerhof.

What a great restaurant! The food is excellent and the staff is very attentive. The location is very nicely decorated and you immediately feel at home. We ate across the menu; Pasta, fish, meat, dessert… everything was just perfect and beautifully presented. I can only recommend.

Good morning and happy Sunday, last night a great dinner with the great Chef Giovanni from Zurich. With a wonderful seven-course surprise menu, an explosion of flavors of Italian haute cuisine and fresh seasonal products accompanied by two "Top" bottles of wine from the Bolgheri Ornellaia estate from the year 2019. A beautiful location and a special place to experience unforgettable moments where you can also meet public and important figures from all genres of the sporting world or otherwise... Warm, modern and romantic style ambience with one of the greatest beautiful views of Zurich's Limmattal lake. A large well-stocked room with fine wines and a special relaxation room for smokers who want to enjoy the finale with Cuban cigars accompanied by an excellent cognac or high-level rum. I will certainly go again to spend another evening in good company with friends or with customers who love and appreciate "The gastronomic detail with surprises made by an excellent staff of chefs who develop these sensations of flavors every day under the directions of the great Chef John . Extraordinary from the loving welcome, the beautiful wooden tables (far apart), generously staffed, super friendly service, excellent food, great wine selection to the feel-good atmosphere. Big compliment, we'd love to come back. Prices in the upper segment, but quality costs.

Here you don't have to argue with the service about the doneness of the fillet. It comes exactly as you wish. Food and service at the highest level. Lovingly prepared. Ambience also very pleasant. A restaurant to feel good. From A-Z just great. Many thanks to the whole team. It was a nice evening.

I have never experienced such good service in Zurich as at the Höngger Hof. The cuisine and the language of the plates make the evening perfect - the top address in Zurich.

Very friendly welcome and uncomplicated, fast service from the service staff to the boss. Food excellent, simply fresh and good, red wine served at perfect temperature. The fish (loup de mer) was cooked to perfection and the ravioli was simply perfect! The special with the truffle was also a success - bravo! 👏Big compliments to the kitchen who knows their craft well. 👍 The space outside is a bit like a holiday and romantic under the trees with a view of the Limmat, simply beautiful. There's also a bit of Italy there and I think that's very nice, but they also speak Swiss German. 😊 Thank you very much, dear friends, Roger & Bettina 🤝

It has become difficult to feel unconditionally welcome in restaurants in Zurich. It is still possible here. The quality of the food and the wine selection are of course excellent.

Nice decor, good food, although I don’t think it is typical Italian, more an adapted version, a bit on the heavier side. Still the presentation is good and the food on the savory side. Maybe a tad too salty. Nice view of the river from the indoor dining room. There are a few outdoor tables for summer days but w limited river view. 5 * For Zurich Italian, 4 * compared to a real Italian one.

What an evening! We were at the Hönggerhof yesterday and experienced culinary and hospitality in perfection. Marrowbone and tuna as a starter – fantastic. Rack of lamb and duck breast as the main course – wow! The highlight is dessert: tiramisu prepared at the table. And before all the tiramisu purists scream and insist that this dessert has to sit for hours: no, it doesn't have to. Just try it and discover a new sweet revelation. The service from Bavaria was also top. Attentive, friendly and blessed with a wonderful Bavarian sense of humor. Splendid. We were thrilled. And come back. And say: “Really great cinema”. Grazie to Giovanni, Tami and Steffi for the serata indimenticabile.

We had a wonderful meal, the tiramisu made at the table was excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant! The crew is absolutely friendly, you get the feeling you've known them for a long time. The wine selection is impressive, it's fun! We are looking forward to the next time, we have already booked the large round table for 8 people, also a good option, a little away from the action. 🤩👍

Great cinema when it comes to seasonal cuisine, wine accompaniment and service, so hospitality, calmness and slow food in a great atmosphere (indoor), even in Zurich ;-) Today's Menu 4 and the PSI were TOP! Giovanni is a warm host through and through. Everything is just right in this restaurant, you feel extremely comfortable and the food and service are also excellent.

It's a very nice experience and worth being there. Small menu but very fresh cuisine without a limitless range of frozen products. The meals are very tasty and the staff is courteous - the boss is also very pleasant in his style! If there is something to celebrate, this is the first choice!

Hönggerhof seems to me to be even more of an insider tip than a trendy restaurant. I didn't know it yet and was there for the first time yesterday with friends. We had the 6-course menu and what can I say? From amuse bouche to dessert it was simply delicious! The food is not only high quality, but also lovingly prepared and a feast for the eyes. I would describe the cuisine as Mediterranean with a little touch of Asian inspiration here and there. For me, definitely at Gault Millau or Michelin level! The owner couple are also absolutely kind and were very concerned about our well-being. It was great to see how warm the service is and I have the feeling that they both do gastronomy with passion. I have to come back soon, especially when you can sit outside by the river. Thank you Tami and Giovanni!

We recently spent a very nice evening at the Hönggerhof and can highly recommend the restaurant. Mr and Mrs Pecoraro and their team are very warm hosts. The food was excellent, the products were high quality and the portions were generous. The latter also applies to the space between the tables. In general, the furnishings are pleasant and you feel completely at home in the Hönggerhof. Thank you very much for the wonderful hospitality. We'd love to come back.

I can recommend the great restaurant and fine cuisine.

A wonderful Saturday evening at the Hönggerhof for three. The food was wonderful, the highlight being the tiramisu, which was prepared at the table. The service is top and friendly, but without being intrusive or ingratiating. The guest is taken seriously and valued. The restaurant is spacious and stylishly furnished and you really have space and peace for yourself. It's not a cheap restaurant, but the price/performance is more than justified. We'd love to come back.

Excellent! We were back at the Hönggerhof for the first time on Tuesday. New host, new luck. The food, service and decor are fantastic. Everything was freshly prepared with a lot of love and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. With Giovanni as the innkeeper, the Hönggerhof has regained its old charm and we are happy to come back again and again and again.

A pearl! We felt like we were in a big city on the water (Singapore-like) and yet far away from the urban hustle and bustle. Everything is perfect in this restaurant. From the ambience, to the hospitality, the service and above all... the food is a real poem. There were six of us and we enthusiastically swapped our respective dishes with the others to taste. Every dish was exquisite! Definitely a first class recommendation! Another dinner at the great Hönggerhof. Unfortunately this time the food was forgettable. Few spices, no fresh herbs, carelessly prepared. We were a little disappointed. Luckily the professional, very attentive waiter and his nice colleague were great! The ambience, the furnishings are still TOP! The location could be in NYC or Bangkok.

In the restaurant you receive great service from start to finish. There is a beautiful outside and inside area. The menu is small, but there is something for everyone (vegan, vegetarian, low carb,…). The dessert menu was also very convincing. A positive surprise was the wine list, which included wine from Höngg (the wine is very good). The restaurant is very nice but rather noisy. We will definitely come back.

The food was good, but it wasn't enough to bring us back to this restaurant. We found the service to be arrogant and ungrateful. The waiter and waitress appeared in a bad mood and demotivated. A tired smile was the highest feeling when we said thank you, otherwise it was just an annoyed look. The atmosphere was clouded by a feeling of "not being welcome", which I find rather unfavorable considering that we were guests in this restaurant for a short time and paid for a service. On top of that, we had the feeling that they wanted to throw us out 30 minutes before closing time and that we were mostly being urged to leave the restaurant through gestures and facial expressions. It was therefore not surprising that the restaurant was only partially occupied by guests. With this type of service, you don't need to get a second impression.

The dishes are very well prepared and very tasty. I would describe it as a gourmet restaurant. Top. Rather in the higher price segment but it's worth it. The interior is very elegant and chic.

Me and my girlfriend visited, she was a little skeptical of the menu, I explained that a good Italian restaurant keeps it simple, but refined to the limit. You might read; only chili, garlic and olive oil with spaghetti as too simple, but in fact it’s the search for perfection. Together with the pinot noir wine from above the hill and awesome charming service next to water and some bread and water to our dog? Just lovely…

Very high prices, which doesn't match the quality of the food. Leaf salad, plate of spaghetti carelessly served, without garnish, grated cheese with spaghetti had to be ordered separately. Vegetable side dishes and vegetable garnishes were in great short supply on our plates.

Very nice restaurant. Courteous staff. Nice location on the Limmat. Smoker Lounge. Eat good. Had a seared tuna steak. Cooked well the first time. A pity. Wasn't allowed to leave the kitchen like that. Complained and then got a new tuna steak. Perfect. So you know how it has to be. Attention, if you are coming by car, please inform yourself well in advance, as the restaurant only has blue zone parking spaces.
