Main dishes were great, we loved the roasted duck! The dim sum that we ordered however were not what we expected for the reputation of Hongxi. Also I think charging extra 6 CHF for 6 extra duck pancakes and also for tap water it is a bit excessive. Atmosphere and service were really good.

Delicious authentic upscale Chinese restaurant. They have another one in Kreis 4 ZH, but I prefer this one in Glattpark as it’s more spacious and feels less cramped even on busy days. Efficient service and perfect for eg. business dinners.

The business is good and there are few service staff, so I can understand that the service is average. But I have a completely different attitude toward foreigners and Chinese people. I learned the essence of face-changing in Sichuan Opera.

The attitude was very bad. I was impatient when asked to pay the bill. I smiled like a dog licking at the foreigner.

We have been here several times. There is no doubts about the food but to my opinion there is a lot of improvement to be done on the service staff. Particularly the rude tone and the loudness by the staff taking the orders. One could hear the oders of the other tables. Very disturbing to enjoy dinner.

I had a fantastic experience at HONGXI! Perfectly located and easily accessible by public transport. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Highlight: Pu Erh tea. The decor is modern Chinese and very attractive. The staff was extremely friendly and humorous. Highly Recommended!

We‘ve been coming here for years. The food is definitely the best Chinese in Zurich. If people know others that could measure up to it - i‘d be curious to hear ;) Wok hei in the dishes that need it and greatest quality Dim Sum, freshly made… no soggy cheap meat swimming in greasy sauce dishes like in all other cheap Chinese eateries. Price is NOT expensive, when you end up spending 40.-/person, consider how much hand craft is put into the dishes - and yes, we are in Switzerland, people don‘t work for free.

Very nice restaurant with delicious food. Among other meals, the restaurant offers also different sorts of Dim Sum. We tried ten sorts, including sweet one as desert. All were served in bamboo steamers and available were chili and soya sauces. I like that they have on the menu also mocktails. But not only those in which alcohol is just excluded from an original recipe, but also gin and tonic with the alcohol free substitute of gin.

A beautiful restaurant in the outer skirts of Zurich with a generous menu. The food is fantastic and really authentic - I’d like to say that this deserves to be called the only premium Chinese restaurant in the area - and of course also with premium prices… But definitely worth going, you won’t regret it.

Very good quality food with a nice atmosphere. Prices a bit too high for the quantity you receive and considering the location of the restaurant. But otherwise highly recommended.

A Chinese colleague recommended it to me as very authentic and I was thrilled. Didn't expect such a good restaurant in this location. The pork belly, dim sums, ribs, duck were fantastic :-) and there are many other dishes that you won't find at the adapted Chinese restaurant. And all of this in a modern ambience. Service was very friendly and gave good recommendations.

It is not the first time that we were in Hongxi for dinner, but never left a good comment. Since I experienced a really bad restaurant, I realise how important a good comment for good restaurant is. Hongxi is always a restaurant in our top list, best taste of food, friendly service and spacy environment. Highly recommended.

Well furnished, elegant restaurant. Friendly staff. Super clean and great atmosphere. The food is fantastic...The lamb is world class, as are the noodles etc. The various starters also score points across the board, from dumplings to cooked ribs...👍🏻👌🏼Not a typical run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. The taste was wow. Very good wines. And great homemade iced tea without sugar. The only downside is that it is unfortunately a little too expensive for the area.

Food is authentic and very tasty. Staff including the boss were annoyed and unfriendly as always. After you pay, they say hello to you in a friendly manner. Maybe it was also the stress of New Year's Eve.

Probably the worst Chinese meal I’ve had and I’ve eaten in many places in China. The beef was tough and like gristle. They did refund me but apparently the food is for Chinese not for Europeans which is a bit odd as we are in Europe. Jacky’s was much better (Asian fusion).

The style of presentation and the cuisine have deteriorated somewhat. Unfortunately, the rather high prices have remained. Nevertheless, Hongxi is good and authentic.

Now, let’s talk about the food – the ribs here are beyond tasty, and the duck dishes are an absolute must-try. If you’re into tofu, you’re in for a treat; their tofu dishes are a perfect match with rice. And don’t overlook their delightful desserts; they’re a sweet ending to your meal. I’ve become something of a regular here, mainly because of the exceptional food and the cozy ambiance, both of which warrant a solid 5 stars. However, I must mention that there have been moments when the staff’s attitude was a bit inconsistent, not rude but not truly welcoming, weird sometimes. Despite that, the overall experience is so great that it’s definitely worth returning.

A very nice, stylish restaurant. Food very very good. Unfortunately, the dumpling portions are rather small for the price. But the dumpling is highly recommended. Were served friendly. Generally very high prices.

Good cuisine, friendly staff, but expensive

I don't know what it was called. Heck, we seem to have ordered it by accident, but this little pear-shaped fritter was the highlight of our dinner last evening. It was a celebration of textures! Paper-crisp on the outside, glutinous in the middle, and a flavorful little parcel of meat on the inside. I don't have a photograph of the roasted duck with pancakes, but it was equally commendable. The pancakes were about the finest I'd ever seen - right down to the millimeter, and steamed to perfection.

The Dim Sum were good, the main dishes a bit small for the price and a bit dry. The server barely gave us time to make our selection from the menu even after we asked for a few more minutes.

It's so beautiful in there. Even in the evening. And the food was really delicious. The service was really nice and accommodating. Really recommended. Unfortunately I can't say whether it's cheap or expensive. I can't assess this yet.

Flavor is great, service was nice, check was painful. The dim sum are definitely worth going, the dishes are flavorful too. A good chinese address. But as. Usual in Switzerland, the price of it all is discouraging.

The Dim sum is very good, chicken feet are TOP. But the other dishes are sadly not as good as the dim sum and are lacking that “amazing” flavor that would make me rate it higher. Very expensive for what you get food wise, the place is very pretty though.

We come here often. Even though the price is a bit high the food is amazing, the duck and the pork are simply the best, and the dumplings are amazing too. Portions sizes are quite big and filling. Service depends on the day but usually is good. We love the place and we will keep coming!

A Cantonese style restaurant. Overall experience was quite commendable. Tried some dim sums. Standout dishes included LUO MAI GAI, CHAR SIU BUNS, and Beef Chow Fun, which were delicious and captured the essence of Cantonese cuisine. However, HAR GAU did not quite meet the same high standards as the other dishes, although it was still decent. I'm happy to return and try more dishes from their menu.

Price performance ratio terrible. Far too expensive, the noodle cost 29.90 and it tasted like I was eating an 8Fr dish. Not recommended. I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants and this was by far the worst.

Been here three times. Dim Sums are nice, the other mains I have tried are mediocre. Quite pricey for the overall experience. Service is really disappointing, if not to say terrible. Slow, rather unwelcoming and unfriendly. I have a feeling they might be understaffed. Waiting times for food can be long. Don’t expect a nice table, even if you make a reservation weeks beforehand. You might even have to wait for a table, despite having a reservation. This could be a great place if they were to step up their customer service/hospitality skills, and deliver consistent quality food. As it is now, value for money is off and I don’t think I will return anytime soon.

You really have to have the Peking duck (menu) for two people. Excellent food, nice ambience and very friendly service. We will definitely come back.

As a supporter of "eating local", I won't normally recommend eating Chinese food anywhere in the western realm... Chinese food in the west is almost guaranteed ick..🤢 However, if you really MUST eat Chinese food in Zürich, then I can honestly recommend Hong Xi because food here actually taste authentic... When I say "authentic", I mean "The Chef would eat this!" level of authentic... Asian menus in Switzerland are way too often whitewashed for business survival... Naturally, be prepared for this place to cost a bit, but you get honest quality.

Honestly, i’ve never done that but we just left the table. We came with a kid and waited for 40 minutes, no drink whatsoever. We bared their services so many times. Once they even showed racist behavior to my friends of color. Today we decide too much is too much. This place is dead to me.

We are/were regulars at this place. We always like the food especially the dim sums are really good. The other dishes are a bit above average sometimes they have some fresh fish and those dishes are great. Unfortunately the service is most of the time really terrible. Especially the boss is a very rude unwelcoming lady that we had the unpleasant experience with on many occasions. Today it peaked that we had to go grab the menu ourselves and then ended up waiting for someone to take our order for >40 minutes, our drinks that we went to order ourselves as well never even came. Nettles to say we left and we wont come back to this place any time soon.

We arrived at the store very late and ate some pretty good stir-fried dishes. The fried pork ribs and fish-flavored eggplant were very authentic to domestic tastes, and the dim sum prices were relatively high. The curry beef brisket was not delicious. The beef was not chewy and the taste was very bland. It was a bit off-putting. The service is generally very friendly, the location is pretty good, the decoration is beautiful, and I will try other dishes.

Solid 4.5 stars. The service and ambiance are great. Portions and taste are good however the price is incredibly high for Asian food (Chinese). Authentically it hits the spot but expect to spend 30-40CH for lunch.

Authentic Chinese food (no fusion!) with friendly staff. We usually order their stir fried beef kway teow , sweet and sour pork, pork ribs and Peking roast duck. My family prefer the good old cze char stalls in Asia for a “fifth of the price and double the taste” but yep, don’t compare the prices because it’ll just be painful for you. Go for a walk by the lake nearby too!

The food is tasty but the service is poor. For a large restaurant you should also hire enough service staff. Otherwise it can really spoil your experience in the restaurant.

Modern and cozy furnishings. The most authentic Chinese restaurant in Zurich with delicious dim sums and perfectly seasoned fillings. The Xiao Long Baos in particular were great. However, the lack of skilled workers is particularly noticeable in service. Friendliness leaves something to be desired, especially the arrogant boss. Otherwise the experience was good. 🥢✨

Amazing Xiaolongbao, duck snd spare ribs. One star minus is for mediocre Mochi dessert. Will def. Come back though.

We arrived late, just 10 minutes before the kitchen was due to close, but the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was excellent. It was both bountiful and delicious, which was just what we needed after a long day at work. I don't know when I'll be back in Zurich, but I do know that when I am, I will come back here.

The best Asian restaurant far and wide. Staff very friendly and also available to have a chat and have fun. Food very varied and freshly made, vegetables, duck, rice perfect. Prices are in the middle to upper range, but it's definitely worth it because the taste is simply great

The Hongxi is quite well camouflaged, we had to look for something. The bar at the entrance is inviting, the tables at the glass front are somewhat exposed. The reception didn't work and the staff was completely overloaded. They had to clear, serve, take orders, give instructions, and run around. The starter was mediocre, the main course was very good. The invoice was wrong, about CHF 40 was overcharged. The reasoning was that this could happen in the rush. Price/performance not exactly great. The parking lot was recently closed. The SOS didn't work, by chance someone just drove out...

Excellent Chinese food in Oerlikon

I come here very often 😊 the food is excellent, whether it's the menu, dim sums or main courses. It's better to make a reservation at lunchtime and bring some time with you, as it can get very crowded. One of my favorite places for lunch and business lunch, I am quite frequent here 😊 Food is simply excellent. Make sure to reserve a table and bring a bit of time at lunch time, it can get quite crowded.

The best dim sum far and wide and all the other dishes are also super delicious, especially the pork ribs. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic and the staff is friendly and attentive.

Children craving for Chinese food after a whole week at the mountain. Did a quick search after checked in, probably the closest higher rating chinese restaurant close to the airport. We were not disappointed, food was good and authentic and service was very good. Totally surprised us since we walked in with low and little expectation. Highly recommend for anyone who is sick of expensive average ski resort food.

The food isn't authentic, but it's still delicious. (For authenticity 2/5 stars) The dumplings are completely homemade including dough. Since I was looking for "authentic" food, this restaurant is unfortunately not recommended. However, for a delicious Chinese paste meal, yes. Prices are rather high. (Food generally 5/5 stars)

One of the best Chonese restaurants in Switzerland. Excellent cuisine!

Last year, due to business reasons, I stayed in Su Shi for more than 4 months. I accidentally came to his house to try Chinese food. The result was unexpectedly delicious. After that, I would come to his house to eat Chinese food once a week. As soon as I arrived in Sushi this year, I immediately drove to his place to dine. The food was as good as ever. Every dish was delicious. The most important thing was that it was particularly exquisite and the service was quite attentive. All in all, very satisfied.

Nice cozy atmosphere. Online reservations also work excellently with special requests. Large menu. I ordered the duck with orange sauce and pasta. The duck was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Together with the extremely tasty orange sauce, it's the best duck I've eaten so far. The noodles were ok, slightly burnt. Reasonably priced, for 2 people with starter and 2 duck dishes 125.- The only drawback, very long waiting times. We had to wait about 25 minutes for the starter and drinks. For the main course we had to wait another hour after the starter. It was probably due to the full restaurant. All in all good, will definitely come back.

I’m disappointed and don’t understand how this place received so good reviews. Yes, they have an authentic and beautiful interior, the venue is located close to the station. Food design also was nice. However, in the menu was not indicated how spicy dishes are. Hot and sour soup and Tofu with vegetables barely could eat and didn’t finish. The water from the tap is 8.5 CHF. From all ordered dishes only dumplings and rise were really good. The good point is a service, they were very friendly and suggested unlimited hot water for tea(which was also good).

I don't understand the many 5 star reviews at all. Far too expensive for what they offer - 3 little spinach dumplings cost a whopping 15 CHF, for example. Customer wishes are not taken into account - for example, it’s not possible to exchange chicken for tofu. But with just 4 vegetarian dishes on the menu, that would be extremely appropriate. My main course - tofu with vegetables - was so spicy that I couldn't finish it (and I love spicy food), but there is no indication on the menu that this dish is supposed to be spicy. No compensation was offered for this, even if it was only a coffee. Things that I expect at this price level.

All food are mouth watering 🤤Fried rice in Hongxi is my favourite and the spare ribs here is super ! After a week in Switzerland 🇨🇭, the Asian in me is yearning badly for Chinese 🍚 food. Thankfully, there is Hongxi. Not too far from Zurich airport 🛫, in quite a non descript place lies this Asian fine dining restaurant. As a vegetarian (there are many options), we ordered vegetarian dim sum♨️, manpo tofu, claypot tofu 🍲 and some vegetables. They are as good as they look. The taste is a bit different from the usual Chinese 😋 dim sum, but not in a bad way. Each dim sum piece is huge! Hugely enjoyable meal with friends, the only drawback is the price 💸 wise - let's just say it's Swiss.

Food is nothing special, prices are high, service is lazy. The restaurant was empty when we were there, the staff just stood there chatting. Had to wait for anyone to come. We had a baby with us who kept dropping the cutlery. Not once the staff thought of helping us. Meh in general.

We were there with a larger group (we had also made a reservation), the food was great, it was worth the wait and it was ok... The service wasn't ok: too many errors (despite the number system), EVERYONE walked past our table and... NO ONE really cared about us (is everything ok? Did everyone get their food? NOTHING!) You could see from a distance that we weren't satisfied...and you could see from a distance that the main courses and side dishes were still missing...if you had wanted to see that.... Very unfortunate...very, very unfortunate.

Previous visit was good. However, quality is inconsistent. The braised pork was smelly, and salty. The chicken was flavorless.....

Went to Hongxi on Thurgauerstrasse as a group of nine people. Unfortunately, the service made various errors. A starter was only brought after several requests. Side dishes were sometimes forgotten and three main courses were not even brought. The starter I tried was excellent, but I can't rate the main course because unfortunately I didn't get it.

Very good Chinese place. The xiao long bao was a bit too doughy, but everything else we ordered was fantastic. The service is very slow though and it is a little pricey. Would come back.

A modern restaurant with excellent traditional Chinese food I have rarely found in another restaurant. The tasteful interior has a bar with good cocktails and champagne and there is a terrace in the alley. The service is very friendly and they know their menu and give good advise. If you want the Pecking duck, reserve in advance and be at least 2 persons. We came back a week later and enjoyed that visit as much as the first.
