Horli-Hitta in Bettmeralp

Nice option to sit down and eat with the great view of the glacier. Both rösti and apple cake were very tasty. Prices are within the Switzerland range.

The Horli-Hitta offers a large selection of great food (we had Älplermagronen) freshly prepared. Very nice service and beautiful, rustic hut style. Perfect for a break after a hike along the Aletsch Glacier.

Delicious coffee and cakes. The black coffee was so smooth and the pflaumenkuchen was tart and not sweet. Service was pleasant and fast and of course the view was excellent. We went in winter so the outdoor sunning wasn’t really happening but sitting outside after turning into an ice statue was excellent

The three stars are the average of great views on benches with comfy blankets and basically food out of a tin. Why is it always the view the allows gastronomes to dial down the quality of the food they serve? Is it because in reality they could just serve anything and it sells? Or are they needing to pay off their investment? What ever the reason, what was once a sensational goulash or stonking rosti with a view to die for is now a lacklustre, seemingly profit driven experience where the view really is to die for but the food to be bored to death from. If I sound disappointed, I am especially since this was for me a magic place. :( I hate to say it, but go for the view - it's magic! But you might as well bring your own food and drink.... sad!

What a disappointment. half past ten and still closed. We've been waiting since half past nine and it always says it will open in 30 minutes. Still the same saying at half past ten. It's a shame, it's not even worth 1 star.

A fantastic place. Unfortunately, the Horli Hitta is no longer run with as much passion as it used to be. According to Google opening times, Hitta is open from 9 a.m. Unfortunately that's true about this one. not on a beautiful summer day. Even at 10:30 the Hitta is still not open. We were always told that the Hitta would open in 30 minutes. Very unfortunate. There are a lot of guests waiting.

5 stars is for the unbeatable views and location. The warm apfelstrudel was decent. I really enjoyed the break there.

A cabin with a wonderful view and view of the Aletschgletscher. The cottage fits nicely into the natural Swiss environment. Simple and at the same time tasteful outdoor decoration.

Unfortunately, not a successful first day of the start of the summer 2022 season🤨, as no cheese plates, no toast, etc. were not acceptable. The guests are there, what's going on with the Aletsch Arena. The Aletsch Glacier is still worth seeing.

When we went to Eggishorn, Horli-Hitta temporarily closed. And reopening soon in the mid april

this Horli-Hitta is simply cult! It's wonderful to enjoy the mountain air and the panorama with a drink and something to eat. What we think is really great and what we saw is that the Hitta is barrier-free and can also be visited by wheelchair users! Bravo!

It's great that there is also a restaurant at this altitude that will provide you with food so that you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Aletsch Glacier! It is self-service, but the food you order is also delivered outside. If you're not used to this, you should keep an eye on the circled number on the receipt. This is called out by the waiter so that food and stomach can find each other. The menu is well stocked, although the kitchen probably has limited options. There was always the smell of cheese from the baked toasts and fondue. We treated ourselves to a hearty ham sandwich with cheese on house bread.

Incredibly fast service. Good cake. Swiss prices, 18.- for a tea, hot chocolate and piece of cake.

Cheese slices with ham and egg was a bit disappointing. Very nicely prepared but made without white wine. no spices, not even pepper. I cook better at home. great view

I think it's a shame when a fine hash brown is heated in the microwave and turns into chewing gum. It's particularly a shame because the other ingredients were very good. Please improve! For CHF 25 I expect the same at 3000 m above sea level. Otherwise everything is nice and well maintained.

Cosy little place right beside the cable car station so perfect if you’re only coming up for the view of the glacier or just walked to the Eggishorn peak. The staff were lovely and had the best hot chocolate with cream for a warm up. Outdoor seating was too cold for us even with sheepskins but definitely worth the stop for a little lunch etc

Good view of the Aletsch glacier

We were there on December 30, 2019. And everything was sold out, there was almost nothing left that was offered on the menu. We waited 40 minutes to order because there was one person at the counter and one person in the kitchen (no one cleared up). The staff was completely overwhelmed and we were unfortunately a bit dissatisfied... The view is great, but as I said, we are unfortunately not at all satisfied with the staff setup.

High Mountain Oasis. One of the terraces with the best views in the world. Excellent cheese. and typical mountain dishes The stock of local beer is limited... Next time we will order wine.

The place is wonderful, slightly expensive, 6.5 CHF for 1/2 liter of natural water is almost 12 euros per litre. Ferragni water would have cost me less.

6.5 francs for a glass of tap water. The goulash has absolutely no meet and it is made out of powder. Bread was old. Absolutely horrible expensive place. I cannot understand how they had such a good rating..

Small but cozy restaurant in a great location. Reachable with the Eggishorn gondola lift and with a view of the Aletsch Glacier and the surrounding towns. In winter, a black piste leads back to the ski area. There is a small selection of food at normal prices. The service is very friendly and the food is served quickly.

Fortunately this refreshment bar exists because when you arrive at the summit of Eggishorn this place allows you to warm up and eat. Rosties soup house specialties small but pleasant interior with sheepskin on the chairs!

What a wonderful magic place to visit. For me the best place to see and feel the glacier. The staff specially “Sandro” is truly the best host I met so far. Thank you Sandro for letting me feel welcome... I promise to come back next year.

Very small... Idyllic atmosphere... Unfortunately, prohibitively expensive even by Swiss standards

What a place, what a view, what excellent service compared to the tents on Fiescheralp, fantastic. Very small inside, but outside in the sun it is a pleasure with an excellent menu of Valais delicacies. If the black slope is closed, it is better to find a spot on the terrace and take the lift down to continue skiing from there. Compared to previous reviews, there is an ATM machine available. Also a nice detail, the mountain railway takes water with it every time it goes up because there is no source at the top.

A dream to stand here. The hut is very pretty and the service is very nice. The dishes are rather simple but delicious. The view of the surrounding glaciers and mountains is simply fantastic.

Spectacular place, good food, courteous and youthful atmosphere.

Apart from the incredibly impressive location, this cabin is simple, very cozy and hospitable. Warming up, resting or quenching a little hunger or a big thirst - it's ideal for that.

Beautiful mountain restaurant with a great view. The staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately it didn't have the offers on the menu, this is from last year. The operators should try a little harder. Actually I would only give 3 stars but the staff was so good that it's enough for 4.

Great place to stay and have a hot cup of tea. The view is incredible. Staff is happy to help and prices are normal.
