Hotel La Ginabelle in Zermatt

We had a great stay at La Ginabelle. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. When we first arrived one of the staff gave us a tour of the hotel. Our ski bags were taken to the locker room and unpacked into the lockers. Our rooms were clean and had a nice view of the Matterhorn. The location is only a couple minute walk to the Sunnegga lift. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had lots of options, including freshly made omelets. Diyan at the bar made very good drinks and was extremely helpful (including getting ice bags for my wife after she hurt her knee skiing).

We have been to La Ginabelle many times. The hotel was expanded. This is particularly noticeable in the great pool area. The rooms are nice and spacious. It is quiet around the hotel. The location is perfect: quickly in the village and still far from the hustle and bustle and also in no time at the Sunegga train. The staff is friendly and helpful. The boss always seems to be there :-)

Stayed there a few times. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and common areas. Best spa in zermatt, high quality breakfast. A bit of a classic design but highly recommended to stay there.

The entrance door lever in my room fell off every time I closed the door for five days. The cleaning staff probably noticed it too and it was never repaired.

Excellent hotel with superior service and content

Was such a pleasant surprise to come across a proper bar in Zermatt with amazing hospitality and drinks. Thanks to the bartender Eros, we were greeted with some of the best cocktails in Switzerland and much-welcomed warm conversation. It was an unexpected surprise to come across such a nice bar in the middle of the mountains, and it definitely gave a special touch to our stay at the hotel. Thanks to Eros and the hotel, highly recommend!

Wir waren zu 5 an einem Abend dort und haben a la carte gegessen - alles was kam war gut ... und der Service war zudem sehr sympathisch und zuvorkommend.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit tollem Essen. So gibt es morgens ein großes Frühstücksbuffet und Abends hat man die Wahl zwischen einem vegetarischen und ,,normalen“ 5-Gänge-Menu. Guter Service und 2 schöne Outdoor Pools (ein nagelneuer) mit zahlreichen Extras. Herausheben kann man auch die Gastfreundlichkeit sowie die Wertschätzung der Gäste, so hat sich der Chef z.B. regelmäßig um die Gäste gekümmert. Das Hotel ist nur wenige Schritte von der Bergbahn hoch ins Skigebiet entfernt, was dementsprechend (bis nach Ostern) für das Ski fahren praktisch ist. Uns hat es sehr gefallen.

Nous avons passé un séjour fabuleux!! Tout était parfait! Le service était impeccable et le personnel très professionnel. Les chambres sont extrêmement agréables et très bien conçues et les repas en demi-pension excellents. La piscine avec jets en extérieur, un délice.. Et cerise sur le gâteau pour des vacances en famille, le kids club!! Ouvert de 10h à 22h et disponible quand on veut.. Juste génial. Ma fille de 4 ans a adoré et cela permets aux parents de se reposer en toute quiétude. Mention spéciale à Kataryna et Nicole qui sont d’une gentillesse extrême.. Aussi, on sent que c’est une entreprise familiale, le couple de propriétaires alliant présence, discrétion et sympathiques petites attentions.. Une chose est sûre, on reviendra!!

I went for a long weekend with my wife and we had an amazing time. The hotel is wonderful. Very well located with an incredible view from the Matterhorn. The hotel fits perfectly for people looking for skiing in Zermatt, enjoy the wellness center, eating some great food or all of them together :) The food is a chapter apart. Really good breakfast and dinner. I strong recommend to take the halfboard option with their fabulous multi-course dinner and friendly/efficient staff. Looking forward to go back as soon as possible.

Vom Zimmer über den Service/Gastfreundschaft bis hin zum Spa-Bereich und dem Essen war alles perfekt. Auch der Umgang mit den Kindern fanden wir sehr angenehm. Wir als Familie haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt, trotzdem würde ich das Hotel auch kinderlosen Personen/Paaren empfehlen. Am liebsten hätten wir unseren Aufenthalt verlängert. Vielen Dank an das ganze La Ginabelle-Team!

Das Hotel ist sauber und modern. Romantische Lobby mit Kamin und Flügel sowie ruhiges und edles Restaurant. Der Spa Bereich ist außergewöhnlich groß mit mehreren Saunen sowie einem extravaganten Infinitypool zum relaxen nach einem Tag im Schnee. Das Essen (Halbpension ist zu empfehlen) ist abwechslungsreich und köstlich, mit 5 Gängen am Abend und einem guten Frühstück. Die Zimmer sind teilweise renoviert, diese sind ebenfalls modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage des Hotels ist mit dem Skiverleih direkt gegenüber sowie dem Skilift vor der Haustür ideal. Eigener Skikeller vorhanden. Ich genieße jeden Tag meines Urlaubs.

Das Resort La Ginabelle erreicht bei weitem NICHT 4-Sterne-Superior-Standard - deutlich zu teuer für das Gebote und die Gastfreundschaft ist (mit wenigen Ausnahmen im Service) erschreckend schwach. Dass man quasi auf einer Baustelle Ferien macht, wird einem auch bei Direktbuchung nicht mitgeteilt. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück ist gut, die Qualität der Speisen jedoch mässig und ein regionaler Bezug ist nicht zu erkennen. Die lieblose Jause als "Inklusivleistung" ist nicht vergleichbar mit dem, was in österreichischen Betrieben unter diesem Begriff aufgetischt wird. Und Halbpension zu buchen lohnt sich im Ginabelle nicht! Der Spa-Bereich ist zwar gross, jedoch sehr unübersichtlich angelegt und eine Reise aus den 1980er-Jahren (im Untergeschoss) in die Neuzeit (im nun eröffneten Obergeschoss). Der schönste Bereich ist für Familien offen, ein kleinerer Teil (Altbau) nur Erwachsenen vorbehalten. Das Wasser in den Aussenpools ist für alpine Verhältnisse zu kalt. Alle, die ein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis schätzen, schauen sich in Zermatt besser anderswo um - Alternativen gibt es glücklicherweise genügend!
