Hôtel Royal in Genève

Probably the best hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. Lovely friendly staff, beautifully styled rooms, comfy and cosy beds, just great! Perfect location too. Would highly recommend.

We had extremely clean room with kichenette area with microwave . Bathroom with bath and shower also really clean . Very comfy beds. Breakfast delicious. All staff so helpful and friendly . Great location to explore the city of Geneva and walking distance to lake Geneva and many other parts . Free train/bus/ water boat tickets right get about.

The food in their restaurant is exquisite.

Good service, central and with good connection to different parts of Geneva and Switzerland. Good rooms. Narrow hallways. If you need to work, it is not recommended, the WiFi is terrible anywhere in the hotel, therefore it is a hotel with overrated room prices for the level of service.

1/ On arrival, we contact the hotel regarding parking, the hotel informs us that the hotel parking lot is full and therefore asks us to look for parking elsewhere... without worrying about it any further. 2/ In the superior room, no pairs of slippers (I should point out that this is a spa hotel) I contact reception who informs me that slippers cost 5CHF. UNLIKELY! 3/ In order to use my personal hair dryer, I need to use an adapter, we contact reception again who asks us for a 50CHF deposit. ASHAMED ! 4/ We asked room service to bring us ice cubes to our room, they told us that it would cost us 10CHF, so we had to go down and get them. 5/ The next morning, we asked them if a parking space had become available, they told us yes, 45CHF/24 hours, we were OK and asked if possible to reserve it for us and pay to park it when we returned from our walk , answer: it is not possible to reserve a place and that is the procedure. FOOLISH ! 6/ On the day of our departure, we contact room service for 2 coffees and an orange juice. Believe it or not, the answer: it will cost you the price of a breakfast, i.e. 40CHF, my husband goes down to collect them at the bar for 17CHF. Amazing room service at this establishment!! Finally, old establishment, dilapidated room, empty mini bar. Cleanliness that leaves much to be desired. Deplorable welcome, non-existent staff. Tiny gym, impossible to open the window, water fountain without water… We sincerely do not recommend this establishment. TO FLEE !

I had lunch today at Le Bistro. The menu of the day was beef with lettuce served with a bowl of french fries. The food was good and the portion generous. The service was impeccable. I strongly recommend this restaurant. The dish of the day costs only 23 CHF. Excellent value for money.

Guten Tag, ich wollte allen mitteilen die das Hotel besuchen wollen das lieber nicht zu tun. Die meisten Punkte sind negativ und wenn ich richtig überlege habe ich fast keinen positiven Punkt. Das Hotel kann man sagen ist wenigstens Sauber, was auch einen guten Eindruck gemacht hat doch den rest kann man nicht gebrauchen. Leute an der Rezeption wahren sehr unfreundlich!! Wollten und eine Maske für 5 Franken geben was eine absolute Frechheit ist. Das Zimmer hat ungefähr 35 Grad und die Lüftung funktioniert nicht mal, was ich sehr shlimm und peinlich finde. Im ganzen gebe ich ich einen zweiten Stern weil es noch bisschen sauber war. Doch das ist Preisleistungs mässig nicht zu empfehlen. Lieber in jedem 2-3 Stern Hotel gehen für das Geld Katastrophe.!! (PS: Parkplatz für 1 Auto kostet pro Tag 50Fr. / Und morgen essen ist auch sehr schlecht für das, das wir 25Fr. bezahlt haben.)

Absolut schlecht. Keine kompetente Beratung bei Check in. Obwohl der Wellnessbereich im Internet zur Verfügung steht, kann dieser nicht genutzt werden ohne es vorher extra zu reservieren. Man wird bei der Rezeptionen auch nicht darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Parkplatz übertrieben teuer (Fr. 45.- pro Tag!!) Preis-Leistung absolut schlecht und die Rezeption einfach nur unfreundlich.

Zimmer war schön und sauber (executive Room). Lange warten für check-in. Sehr lange Schlange für Frühstück. Viel zu kleiner Raum für so viele Reservationen. Wäre ja planbar. Personal am rotieren. Kein Brot, keine Früchte, kein Geschirr. Warteschlange für Kaffee. Sehr ungemütliche und hektische Stimmung. Bin als Gast unzufrieden.

To the hotel restaurant, “Le bistrot”: the ambiance isn’t particularly nice, and the food is ok - but really average, not exceptional at all. The meat of the main course was chewy, dessert was supermarket quality. Totally overpriced! No welcoming amuse Baluchi or anything, which is standard for upper restaurants especially if you choose the menu. The wine selection is limited and also quite average, not a good one. Service same: ok, but rather impersonal. I don’t recommend it. The Hotel itself: it’s a bit old but still has it’s charme. Beautiful rooms, however I could hear every noise from other rooms! Toilet flush, people talking, also passing trains - not very pleasant. The parking for CHF 45 is ridiculously expensive. At the reception, I waited quite long for check-in and no one paid attention or even greeted me, even though there was enough staff available - not a good service attitude. During check-out, I waited a while for my car and no one even asked how my stay was. Service level also here is impersonal and very average with long waiting times.

Am ersten Abend war die Bar geschlossen. Am zweiten Abend nachgefragt ob die Bar offen hat. Es hiess ja ab 19:00 Uhr. Gut wir waren so 19:15 Uhr da. 30min später wurden wir immernoch nicht bedient. Ich finde sie haben das 4Sterne Hotel so nicht verdient und drei Serviceangestellte haben uns gesehen. Ich als Gast bin sehr unzufrieden.

An sich eine sehr schönes Hotel in einer sehr guten Lage. Das Frühstück hätte trotz der Corona Regel etwas abwechslungsreicher sein können. Zu mindest etwas Gemüse und Kohlenhydratfreie Alternativen wären bei 4Sterne+ zu erwarten. Was gar nicht geht ist Rührei aus fertig Pulver. Ausserdem ist es eine Frechheit beim Dinner 2mal das gleiche Menü an zwei folgenden Tagen anzubieten.

Hatten ein Superiorzimmer gebucht. Im Zimmer waren überall Haare. Im Bett im Bad, in der Badewanne ect. Staubig wars auch. Haben das Zimmer reklamiert. Wir dachten das ginge schnell aber wir sollten über eine Stunde warten. Das war uns dann doch zuviel. Sind dann erstmal an den See und die Altstadt. Das neue Zimmer, zwar keine Haare aber trotzdem Staubig, abgewohnt und renovierungsbedürftig. Die Gläser waren schmutzig und der Instantkaffee im Dezember 2020 abgelaufen. Das soll ein 4 Sterne Hotel sein? Die Lobby, das Restaurant ect. alles sauber und modern. Das passt komplett nicht zusammen. Das Abendessen war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant chic und modern. Das Frühstück war ok aber auch nicht mehr. Ich kenne viele 4 Sterne Hotels aber dieses hat keine 4 Sterne verdient. Der Parkplatz kostet 45Chf was schon echt happig ist. Die Lage ist echt top, 500m zum Bahnhof und paar Minuten zum See und ca. 10-15 Min. bis zur Einkaufsstraße und zur Altstadt. Schade das Hotel hat soviel potenzial. Wie gesagt, Service und Restaurant passen nicht zum Rest.Die Nacht mit dem 3 Gänge Menü haben wir m 265 CHF bezahlt. Das ist für dieses Hotel leider zuviel. Schade das man nichtmal einen Drink oder ein Upgrade für die Unannehmlichkeiten erhalten hat. Anscheinend legt man keinen Wert drauf. Sehr sehr schade :(. Wir mussten fürs Check-in 30 Minuten anstehen (und dann später nochmals 20 Minuten weil beim ersten Mal das Zimmer noch nicht bereit war). Das Frühstück war sehr mager.

L’hotel est tres proche de la gare et du lac. La chambre était spacieuse. Le petit-déjeuner était super. Malheureusement il n y avait plus de place pour le spa donc nous étions un peu deçus, il faudrait avoir une meilleure organisation pour le spa je pense car c est premier arrivé premier servi ce qui est dommage car nous avons appeler pour reserver mais c était impossible. Sinon tout s est très bien passé je recommande vivement cet hotel.

Ja es war wirklich gut aber bei 17 Punkten, oder um die 17 zu halten muss mehr kommen, ganz lieb gemeint von einem Berufskollegen ;) Fazit klare 5* Google verdient, nur schon der freundlichen Belegschaft wegen! Weiter zu empfehlen!

Nach einer 3 Stündigen fahrt, erfreuten wir uns am ankommen im Hotel. Uns wurde an der Rezeption mitgeteilt, dass wir übrigens nicht in den Spa- Bereich können, da es eine Voranmeldung benötigt. Zum Glück hatten wir gar nicht erst die Absicht uns zu entspannen. Nach dem einrichten im Hotelzimmer, wollten wir einen Drink an der Hotelbar geniessen. Früchte hatten sie leider nicht mehr für cocktails. War kein Problem für uns. Wir gönnten uns ein schuss schlecht schmeckendes nichts für 18.-. Aber jetzt mal erlich. Das putzpersonal war sehr herzlich und das Zimmer auch sehr schön. Jedoch hätten wir uns nach 3 Stunden fahrt mit Ziel zur entspannung auch irgendeine Entspannung gewünnscht. Wir konnten wenigstens so viel Lachen wie lange nicht mehr. Danke dafür.

Nous ne sommes allés qu'au restaurant le bistro. Nous logions à l'hôtel Edelweiss mais leur restaurant étant fermé, nous sommes allés au bistro ( même chaîne). L'entrée de l'hôtel est agréable ( normal pour 4 ⭐+). La décoration du restaurant est un peu trop sobre et manque de chaleur. La carte est limitée, les prix assez chers. Les plats étaient bons sans plus. Le service était très bien.

Upon arriving and checking in to the hotel, things were going great. We went up to our rooms to be sent back to the lobby because the rooms were not ready. After waiting for a little while we proceeded to ask the front desk what the ETA was. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the top floor suite rooms which were magnificent, and quite expansive. The initial error of our first rooms not being ready on time was made up quite sufficiently with the upgrade. Dinner at Le Bistro was fantastic as well. The Perch from Lac Le Mans was outstanding as was the service. Thank you Hotel Royal for the wonderful staff and service. We look forward to seeing you in the future. Would Highly recommend to other international travelers.

Très bon service et accueil en général. Le petit déjeuner était bon, mais ça manquait de variété au bout du 3ème jour. L'hôtel est très bien situé (2min de la gare Cornavin, 10min du lac), de plus le tramway est juste en face si vous voulez aller faire un tour en ville. Je recommande sans hésiter.

Great spacious rooms and studios with kitchenette...great service, Nespresso machine with a couple pods a day...an excellent Chef at the hotel's restaurant... Great location, proximity to Gare Cornavin and convenient entrance by the tramstop... Some loose sockets need attention but overall great place to stay. Lidl and Coop shops just steps away... For long stay one gets a voucher too! Recommend it!

My Geneva home away from home! Great staff and wonderful atmosphere. Comfortable rooms with pretty decor. The breakfast is overpriced in my opinion but then again, it's Switzerland, what can you expect haha?

Love this place. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The decor is unique, old fashioned and beautiful. Great location, cute little gym and saunas. Would definitely stay here again.
