Hotel Tannenhof in Zermatt

Renovated guesthouse. Tiny room. Decent breakfast. Comprehensive staff. Decent hotel for a short stay. I repeat: tiny room. Moderately comfortable bed.

Unbeatable stay. The hotel and its employees are super attentive and helpful. Very new, with a modern atmosphere and a highly recommended restaurant. The breakfast is also very complete. Very grateful for the advice and help we received from the concierge to start our ski days. Very good location. A few meters from the main street and about 600 meters from the train station.

This hotel is conveniently located, about half way between the railway station and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise Gondola station (about 10min. walking distance to either place). The hotel is very modern and clean. The rooms are small, but really nice and offer all you need. There is a ski room with lockers and a shower. The latter we found amazing as we were skiing all day on our departure day and were able to change and shower before hopping on the train. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is the breakfast which I found had limited offerings. E.g. the only egg offerings were hard boiled eggs, no scrambled eggs or omelettes were offered. I find this is something which would add a lot of value with little effort. As the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the town you find many amazing restaurants and bars in walking distance.
