IKEA in St. Gallen

IKEA St.Gallen? I have no idea, ask someone else...

On Friday we purchased two pieces of furniture and wanted to assemble them over the weekend, but one piece of furniture was missing the complete assembly kit. We then contacted IKEA by phone. The lady on the other end of the line wasn't very helpful and was very hesitant to suggest a solution. When we asked for the parts to be sent to us by post, we were told "this will take 15 days",... hello, where do we live?? So we had no choice but to drive back to St. Gallen and get the missing parts... Lost time about three hours (!). We will avoid this furniture store in the future. Good customer service is the basis for high customer satisfaction... IKEA still has a lot to learn here...

Disappointing experience at IKEA As a long-time customer who last visited IKEA about 10 years ago, I am extremely disappointed by the greatly reduced quality and the disorganized purchasing process. The chaos of sourcing products, including the need to purchase certain parts separately and novel storage methods, frustrated me. What is particularly annoying is the fact that sofas that are presented as exhibition pieces are not available for immediate delivery but have a waiting period of three months. In comparison, my purchase of a sofa from "LIPO" for 800 francs was a real relief. The top quality and the effortless assembly within just two minutes exceeded my expectations and left the stress of the annoying screwdriver at IKEA far behind.

Great selection, large selection, not everything placed close together, large area where customers can stand without blocking the way.

An Ikea is what I expect. System good, staff friendly and helpful, range varied. It's all ok.

Ikea is always a must when moving. However, in the end, no more food. The bratwurst is an imposition. Even in Zurich it is better.

What can you say, it's just an Ikea. If you know one, you know them all

Perfectly accessible from the motorway (directly into the car park and directly onto the motorway again. Staff friendly, quality of advice mediocre, you search for yourself, it's not that crazy ;-)

With the above email you are informing me that my order has been successfully delivered. That's not true! So far only 1 item has been delivered: 40399314 KLIPPAN N So2 BOMSTAD Black The 2nd part of the delivery was shown for today, January 2nd, 2024, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. The delivery company wanted to deposit the remaining items without assembly, which I didn't could accept. I then received a telephone from the office saying that the assembly would be done separately. When I asked when the mechanic would come, I received no answer. The handling of my order including delivery and assembly is incomprehensible, unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable. 1. The order is split into 2 partial deliveries, which was not agreed upon. 2. The 2nd partial delivery was first displayed on Wed 03/01/24 and then on Tue 02/01/24, 08:00-10:00 a.m. On the delivery day I get a phone saying delivery is at 7:30am will take place. On site, the delivery company wanted to deposit the packages without assembly, which I refused. I said that I expected delivery and assembly at the same time. 3. Phone call from office saying assembly is separate from delivery. The question of when the mechanic would come remained unanswered...😡👎

Dear Ikea, please make your way to the restaurant through the children's paradise again. Yes, it's clear to me that I should buy...but I don't always need everything and the running around tends to stop me from spontaneous visits. It would be much more practical for public transport users (desirable, right??), as it was in the beginning, thank you!

Only four stars because the toilets could be cleaned better

We only went to eat, it's like all the Ikea and the food is good and affordable.

We went to buy some things for the house and it was a nice experience and the prices are very good. See you next time.

New payment and ordering system for the food distribution at the end of the day is just sickening, bad, impersonal and inconvenient! Sotry but before that it was much better.

It is an unrivaled company in the region, sometimes you can find products at very economical prices.

The entire ordering process with the new function of the app (room scan) went smoothly. However, delivery was not delivered completely. An article was missing. After an email to customer service, the missing goods were delivered quickly and easily! Hence 5/5 stars.

Not really suitable for furniture shopping with larger vehicles. Receiving goods behind a barrier in the basement. The barrier only opens after registration. Extremely unfriendly employee when receiving goods. You wait maybe 20 minutes deep underground until the coffee break is over and someone opens the barrier for you. Zero willingness to help. I don't know any of this from the other Ikea locations. A pity. I actually like shopping at Ikea, just not in St. Gallen.

Unfortunately, my visit to the IKEA store was disappointing, mainly due to the unfriendly staff. While the product selection and store design met usual IKEA standards, customer service was well below expectations. The employees seemed disinterested and unhelpful, which significantly detracted from the shopping experience. Questions about products were answered reluctantly and there was little effort to assist in finding items. I hope that the situation will improve in the future.

You have to walk through the whole store

Service performance in the event of a complaint was very poor. 10/21/23 Glass etagere purchased. 3 rubber seals were missing. Complained via the Internet, received an answer on October 25th, 2023, that I should contact St. Gallen. On October 26th, 23 I was promised on the phone that I would receive a replacement by mail on October 31st, 2023. On November 4th, 2023 I was informed via email that I had not yet received anything. On November 15th, 2023 I was promised over the phone that the St.Gallen branch would get in touch with me. Haven't heard anything yet. And all the effort because IKEA sells a defective product. Customer service is different.

Products with good quality/price ratio. Ideal for students or those who are moving in for the first time, without wanting to spend too much. It’s a well-organized store, covering every room in the house. You have markings on the ground so you don't get lost until you reach the checkout counters. By following this sign, there is no risk of missing a part. Everything is there, whether it is bathroom products or the furniture arrangement of a kitchen, for example. I enjoyed the cheap breakfast but not so much the lunch

We always spent a lot of time because there is so much to admire.

Did a little shopping from a neighboring country and purchased a mattress, unfortunately after several weeks it was discovered that the mattress did not unfold to the size stated on the packaging and was probably a product defect or an incorrectly labeled product. Because the mattress does not reach the specified dimensions. Customer service talks a lot and actually does nothing. An approx. 30 kg mattress that was transported rolled up should now be brought back in all its glory. No assistance from customer service. A disappointing shopping experience and one less customer.

Food is bad. Hope the furniture is better. The dining table in the canteen also wobbles criminally. Maybe next time it would be better to go to a high-quality furniture store.

We bought the wrong furniture through our own fault. We dropped off the product the next day and they willingly helped us with customer service. (I registered for the return online in advance)

I received very friendly, competent and patient advice from Ms. Filiz in the wardrobe department. I am very pleased to have found a good solution for the cloakroom area thanks to the great commitment of this top employee. Another happy experience was the contact with customer service. Ms. Yvonne defied all difficulties and worked extremely hard to find a short-term delivery option. A big compliment and a big thank you to both employees. Best customer service that many reputable furniture stores could follow. The delivery by the friendly Mr. Jorge also worked perfectly.

Excellent store in Switzerland St Gallen, everything is very tidy, easy to see the prices and choose your favorite products.

Food in the restaurant was very bad. Salmon totally dry with strange sauce with no taste. Fries cold and unsalted. When you tour the exhibition you see staff, but you don't expect a hey, and you have to look for someone for information.

An Ikea like the others, it is advisable to go first thing in the morning to park well and quickly and avoid the queues!

Unfortunately, the prices have risen extremely but are still cheap compared to other furniture manufacturers. The quality is still good too.

Why are you actually building a furniture store if there is NOT a single item that I looked at on site that I could take with me? I can also order online from home, so I don't have to travel to St. Gallen. But at least the parking ticket machine in the parking garage worked and charged 1.50. The employees were very friendly.

Bought lamp, screws were missing. Several contact attempts and chats, only empty promises from IKEA; Response promised within 24 hours; after days still nothing. Wanted to set up a holiday home. I'm now going to XXL Lutz and will no longer shop at IKEA. Hey, what Hey? Better keep your promises!!

Restaurent provides very good food.

Service underground. Some employees are not aware of what they do there or I can read it myself in the CATALOG.

Pick up 2 showcases when the store opens tomorrow (reserved with rental car at 9:00 a.m.). No transportation at the entrance. Is there self-service at the end, was the information??? And how do you pick up an exhibitor? X times through the whole store. There is packaging at the treasure trove... They ask who says that, they have nothing.... At the vehicle rental office you had to wait 30 minutes because hardly any counters are open. (Showcases and car were reserved for 9:00 a.m.). Got the key at 10:00am. The last door to the rental cars is the biggest hurdle. You no longer have any help from your employees and this door is pretty much the smallest door in the entire area. It's very difficult to get the assembled furniture to the vehicles. Then the final shock... there isn't a single tension set or blanket in the rental car (I rented a furniture transporter). If you come back, you will be scolded for filling up at the wrong gas station. I said so that she could offset the difference of a few kilometers, my tank filling wasn't worth 5 francs and that can't amount to 0.50 francs... that wasn't right either. Let's be honest... it wasn't my fault that I had to go through Abtwil in midday traffic. And it's logical that I take an alternative route so that I can avoid the traffic jam, since I have to hand the vehicle in on time and fill up at a very nasty gas station. And I'm very sorry if I have jeopardized your partnership with this gas station. They probably won't go bankrupt because of that bit of Disel...

A normal Ikea, of course, but not my thing given the location and the walking paths through the house. I recommend Spreitenbach. The parking spaces and the paths (and shortcuts) in the house are right.

I got lost about a dozen times, but managed to find my way out before the store closed.

As always, Ikea is a great trip. You just buy more than you planned. But that’s up to you. 😂 We like going to St Gallen... Even as Austrians. Always great promotions.

Different from what you're used to?

With 13 minutes to go, I wanted to buy a lamp, but a member of the department urged me to hurry up. Service is different!!!!! But the staff in the cafe were very friendly!

So who on this planet doesn't love IKEA. This location has great parking, has everything you expect from a home furnishing store and is just off the main highway. My only complaint is the slow ramp escalators.... takes forever. 🤣

With IKEA you are always well served everywhere.

Very complicated parking for a vehicle over 2.7m. In such a case treated like a trucker from Eastern countries... Documentation of the furniture to be assembled could be improved with tutorials with scanning from cardboard to facilitate assembly and gain speed.

Catastrophe! Defective screws are included without an article number. So it is not possible to order these and it is not possible to contact this company because they are unable to provide a functional contact form. Absolutely abysmal customer service, last time I bought anything here.

I think it's really bad that you no longer have any pieces of paper to write down the product you want. Was much better than this app. The marking where the items are to be picked up is poorly marked e.g. At 13 the shelf is too short and the further marking totql is bad. The self-service checkouts are also catastrophic, they don't work and we don't need that many. There still has to be a saleswoman there at all times, so it would be better to put a cash register there. Last but not least, the long waiting time at the checkout, something like that just doesn't work.

IKEA sometimes has practical furniture/storage systems. We valued Ikea for years. What was terrible was the customer-unfriendly treatment of my cousin, who suffered from severe disabilities. This child was refused entry to the store by the pediatrician despite a serious mask certificate. This is very discriminatory and shameful for a family-friendly business. If I could, I would give it 10 stars. That simply does not work.

They are very practical and intuitive products. And in the plant department you really have a large selection. A real treat!

Ikea is and remains my first choice to visit the store. But it's a shame that you can no longer come directly to the restaurant. And the Kötbullar aren't really that good anymore either.

Simply bad! I advise anyone with a physical disability not to visit! It's agony and pain to walk through the aisles that are getting longer and longer every year, knowing that you don't need anything anymore... At the checkouts, the ladies prefer to have coffee parties instead of making customers... As someone familiar with the area, I parked in completely the wrong place, then after walking across the shopping center I discovered the IKEA as if by chance. My favorite is still being forced as a customer to have to take a hike through all departments because the shortcuts only serve the staff and not the customer... Then on the way back to the car I caught the wrong parking floor and went on a hike again. Shopping at IKEA really shouldn't be a day trip! Signage!! Customer experience??

Advice from Ikea is very good and the quality. I just find it sad that such a large company doesn't employ its own people to deliver and assemble the furniture. I had a cupboard assembled by the Sieber company that was damaged, no big response from Ikea neither from Sieber...

As residents near the border, we like to go to this Ikea. He is tall and personable. At the end of the stroll we usually treat ourselves to a few good hot dogs.

Prices aligned with the European average for IKEA including Italian ones. I must point out the great kindness of all the staff. Furthermore, the van rental service at thirty francs an hour represents an excellent plus.
