I have been living in Baden for almost 20 years now. For me, IL Gallo makes the best Galzone there is - there is nothing comparable. Of course the restaurant is small but Mario with his charm and hospitality is unique - absolutely top 👍🏼would recommend it to everyone. The pizza dough is second to none. Every time I find a place with Mario I am thrilled with him. Mario please keep it up 👍🏼 👍🏼👍🏼

Really a good location. I had a simple pizza. And whoever can do a simple pizza well... has already won with me.

Unfortunately it's a bit too small for 7 people unless you think it's okay if the waitress scurries past you while you're eating. Pizza toppings were delicious, pizza itself could have been left in for 3 minutes longer. But that's just a matter of perspective. It was a bit doughy in taste The service was very friendly. Conclusion: Certainly the right thing for 2 to 4 people. Price-performance ratio ok

Everything's o.k. Descent into the basement is a bit tricky for older people.

Simply a top restaurant, especially if you want to try specialties. I've never had fried calzones before, but it definitely won't be my last ❤️. The service staff is very friendly. You feel very welcome. I look forward to the next visit

The mussels were sweet. The pizzas are a dream. The tiramisu is a piece of sweet heaven, thank you.

I absolutely cannot understand the good reviews. After more than 3 years I ate there again (it used to be delicious). But my pizza was totally inedible - tasted completely burnt and musty, one side wasn't cooked properly (also very watery) and the other side stuck to the plate and had too much burnt/lumpy flour at the bottom and also a musty taste. I somehow assume that the oven wasn't cleaned well and the old burnt flour residues were then served with it and therefore the dough couldn't bake properly. The other pizza accompanying us also tasted a bit burnt. Regarding the service: well, they seemed very unmotivated. The second star for this is only because the older gentleman apologized and as compensation we were each offered a piece of cake (free) and didn't have to pay for a pizza (the cheaper one, not mine). Nevertheless, I can't recommend it given the poor quality of the pizza. Very disappointing, there are much, much better pizzerias in Baden. Will never eat there again!

Is a small Trattoria. We arrived at 18:00 and were quickly served. The service was kind. The lasagna was very tasty. The pizza mascarpone was OK. From my perspective it was a bit too wet from the sauce and the mascarpone could have been more. We also ordered a pizza marguerita and it was OK. The tiramisu tasted homemade and the limoncello they gifted us at the end was deliciously homemade.

Ate pizza once. I don't know if it was the wrong evening but the tomato wasn't good at all the pizza in general wasn't good. The appetizer however was good and of good quality (plenty of it) The staff is friendly, the very uncomfortable chairs should be changed... maybe it was just the wrong evening given the good reviews.

It is more than obvious that most of the reviews of this place sound almost the same! Funny. Purchased??? Here's our recession! We recently stayed at Il Gallo Baden. Three Italians and me. We were in the restaurant around 6:40 p.m., which was still almost empty. Served at 7:50 p.m.! The service was unfriendly and extremely stressful. Even though the store was still almost empty! He couldn't bring himself to take the drink orders from the four of us at once. He had to ask several times; he was simply overwhelmed. The food was so-so! The prices are exorbitant for Baden! Far too expensive (pizza CHF 32.00!) Small excerpt: The three Fiori di Zucca were packed with so much dough that was far too thick. The calzone was a disappointment. The filling (which filling???) is ridiculous and again way too much dough. Also the pizza, a bread pizza with far too much, too thick dough, which was also burnt on the top and bottom. Everything in the middle of the pizza was watery! One of my guests had stomach problems and diarrhea all evening afterwards! His opinion: Questa pizzeria not present in Alcun modo l'Italia! We can NOT recommend this restaurant and unfortunately I will never go there again.

Something so wrong, we ate pizza there every evening because it was really great, but today we came to the zrese with two torch sticks and some guy with gray hair and glasses immediately turned us away in a completely inappropriate tone. Totally spoiling the mood and wrong...

I can only warmly recommend this restaurant. Great service, small, cozy Italian restaurant that has it all. My son's pizza was terrific and my Vongoles... I'm at a loss for words... it started with the salad, which was served with really good bread. I knew then that it would be good here. And it got better! Many thanks to the team for this dining experience. We will be back

The pizzas were far too watery and the bread for the bruschetta was far too hard, but otherwise the rest was ok. The location of the restaurant is in the beautiful old town of Baden, the negative was the many mosquitoes and beetles that were on the tables outside, that the tables were on the steep street, so you had to be careful not to slip down and you only had limited space Parking options. The service left a lot to be desired. The younger waitress was a nice lady but the older waiter was so unpleasant! He took one of our orders incorrectly even though I repeated it to him 4 times. Tragically, it wasn't even a specific order or dish, I wanted something that was simply on the menu (standard pizza). The lady then came out with the wrong dish and we told her that we hadn't ordered it. The older waiter then came rushing out of the restaurant like a fury and, in an angry tone, insinuated that I had ordered this, even though seven other people could confirm that it was his mistake. All in all, not a good experience and too expensive in terms of price. It's not a restaurant I would recommend, let alone come back to.

Exceptional Pizza in the middle of the old town in Baden - feeling is 100% like you were served in Italy - lovely team who loves what it does.

Having arrived in the heart of the delightful town of Baden we were attracted by the authentic and pleasant atmosphere of the "Il Gallo" restaurant. Delicious pizza, enjoyed while sipping good beer! The super nice owners, they immediately put us at ease and made us feel at home. Advised!!!

Small but fine and authentic Neapolitan restaurant. The 🍅 tomato soup (not on the menu) tasted excellent, the pizza was terrific, the limoncelo was free with the bill (not like in certain fancy pubs on the Limmat). The place is cramped and it was loud that evening. The service was busy but always attentive. I'll come back before the Baden trip, even if I can sit outside.

A small, fine restaurant in Baden's old town. Exactly what you expect from an authentic Italian restaurant: homely atmosphere, typical Italian dishes and friendly service. Soup, pizza and Babbà were great! I'll definitely come back, probably in the summer when I can sit outside.

Small but nice, you can't say that about the food, only about the small location with few tables. In contrast, the cuisine is excellent! Antipasti and pizzas are of the best quality, the highest rating is slightly understated 👌👍🤪

Authentic Neapolitan Pizza, lovely people at work. Absolute favourite pizzeria. My appetizer tipp: Angioletti Fritti (deep fried dough bits with tomato sauce and parm cheese). Tipp no. 2: come early as it gets busy.

Simple and small Italian restaurant in the old town. We got the last free seat at the bar and were able to enjoy a great Neapolitan pizza - gladly again!

Authentic Neapolitan food is advertised, but you receive the most unfriendly service. We had a reservation for 4, which we made by email and then by phone. Confirmations were made over the phone, emails remained unanswered. When we arrived (it must be admitted: 20 minutes late), the waiters told us that the reservation was invalid because they had only just seen the email. In the middle of the conversation, they ran away without further answers. No matter how good the food is, I can't imagine going there with this level of disrespect.

Hands down the best pizza in town, but also the pasta’s and the rest of the menu is well worth the visit. The family business has the hearth at the right place.

We have rarely eaten such bad pizza. Only the dough was good, although a little charred. The mozzarella was not melted, there was far too much tomato sauce and minimal toppings.

Always happy so far, but today was a mess. After more than 30 minutes we couldn't even order drinks, even though it was already after 9 p.m. Smoking was banned outside, and when we asked if we could finally order, the service only gave a curt “no”. After 40 minutes we left absolutely disappointed and with growling stomachs.

Had very tasty dinner here. The tagliatelle with porcini and truffes mushrooms was delicious. Also the pizza was just perfect. Very cute location with just a couple of tables!

Small but fine trattoria (pizza, pasta & antipasti) in an alley in the charming old town in Baden. The friendly host and owner Mario served us warmly, personally and with passion. A slightly more expensive menu in comparison, but the extra cost is worth it because everything (rocket salad with Pomodorini e Scaglie / pizza funghi / pizza prosciutto) was super delicious!😋 Homemade pasta👍, I have to try it too! Parking spaces right next door to the arches. I'm looking forward to the next visit😊

Small but nice. Small restaurant with 2 types of main course: pasta or pizza, but there is even more passion put into them...the food was incredibly good. The service impressed us with its Italian charm.

Authentic Italo cuisine with the best pizzas! My favorite is the Calzone fritto..., definitely try it! Very hospitable and clean. Advance reservation.

Bruschetta and pizzas were good, service was very friendly until we showed the voucher. We were asked if we received the voucher by post and then the innkeeper held out the voucher in the air, halfway down the aisle to the landlady. When paying, they said it only cost 20 francs. We were surprised and disappointed, they probably don't like vouchers. We still received a Lim ocello.

Good Italian restaurant. Had a pizza, that is thin with a crispy crust, so it is more Romana style than Napoletana but very good, indeed. The ingredients are of good quality, a special plus to the spicy oil. Staff is very friendly, too.

Delicious and quick for take out! You can tell all of the ingredients are freshly made in-house. We couldn't help but devour it piping hot from the box! Reminded me of eating calzones with my grandpa when I was young ☺️
