Inseli Bistro in Neuhausen am Rheinfall

Unfortunately I spoiled my stomach there.

Top bistro directly with a view of the Rhine Falls. Prices are completely ok for the exposed location. Breathtaking view - recommendation Rheinfall beer!!!

It's a shame that such a lousy shop has a monopoly position in one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. The self-service employee is very friendly, but completely overwhelmed alone and the few dishes are mostly sold out. For a raclette roll 10Sfr would actually be ok if the quality wasn't as substandard as in this case.. What's sad is that the owner seems to only think about the high sales and not about the fact that tourists would also like to remember the beautiful place with a pleasant consumer experience. This just makes you feel ripped off, but certainly not valued as a guest... Tip: enjoy the great view of the Rhine Falls while taking a walk and then go somewhere else for a nice meal.

Hot dog and Älpler macaroons were all cold. 2 stars because of fries and views and nice staff. Everything together with 1 ice tea 33.-

A star for the ambience (even if the Swiss decor crosses the Asian dragon). One for taste, one for the view of the Rhine Falls. But charging 10 francs for a medium-sized sandwich with a cornichon trapped in the middle and 2 pearl onions on raclette cheese = ugh. I was disappointed with the relationship. Tasty in taste, but not justified. The lye hot dog, on the other hand, with a farmer's sausage inside, only cost 10.50 CHF...the 0.5l cola cost 5 CHF.

While the restaurant boasts a pleasant view, I found the overall dining experience to be mediocre. The food did not meet my expectations in terms of taste, and the pricing seemed disproportionately high. The scenic view adds a positive touch, but the underwhelming food quality and steep prices leave room for improvement, warranting a 3-star rating.

I really enjoyed the goulash. You can also get instant noodles here. I think it's a really great idea. The service is very friendly

Älpler Macarone - dry pasta, burnt bacon, you can't see or smell the cream and cheese, they forgot about the apple sauce - I was disappointed, the broccoli soup was tasty, the fries were good, the Rheinfall hotdog was quite tasty, but all the additions were missing. Fairly cheap

Beautiful bistro with a perfect view of the Rhine Falls. The food tastes good and you pick it up yourself. The service is friendly.

Nice ambience but worst mulled wine ever.

A chaos beyond compare! Ordered two things and when nothing came after 30 minutes, we asked. Then they said you didn't have any more soup and you forgot the hot dog. Instead of giving the money back, the booking was canceled and I had to pay again for the meal without soup. I expect the refund in the next few days!

One star for the view. Food underground. If you pay in €, a 10% surcharge will be added.

The filled bread pockets tasted okay. for a snack. But the high prices are the big deal.

Very disappointing experience last week. My eldest daughter (who has a severe dairy allergy) asked for a hot dog and explained her allergy. She was assured no dairy was present in the dish, yet either this was false or there was contamination in the kitchen, as she suffered an allergic reaction, had to have an ambulance called, and kept overnight in hospital following administration of adrenaline shots - a very nice bill of CHF 6,400.

Overloaded poor staff. Too much crowded. Food is not really amazing. They are charging 21CHF just for a heated bread with mushroom sauce and fries.

There were two dark haired waitresses who were very nice. There is a blond service woman who is extremely unfriendly and is in the wrong job. She was very rude. Luckily her nice colleagues apologised for her.

Proud prices! Way too expensive for a bistro! Very unclean bistro. Meager selection of food. Tables and chairs are dirty if you want to sit down somewhere. I don't recommend it. It's better to take your own food with you.

Fries are good, hot dogs too, if it weren't for this sausage. The perch fillets were also too oily for me; they should be golden brown and not so dark. Staff are nice and a smile wouldn't go amiss. Otherwise more in the high price segment, but the location probably allows for such a price. Here you can enjoy the great view of the Rhine Falls with the group. Lots of potential for the preparation of the goods and quality/selection, but otherwise I can't complain

Consumption in the restaurant | Lunch | 10-20 CHF Soup of the day (potato soup) ordered and received electronic notification. After 20 minutes I asked and saw perplexed faces. Apart from the fact that they had forgotten my order. What I had on my plate in two minutes was a boiled goulash. Way too salty and soggy and really not edible. Sorry, that was nothing. Coffee was quite good.

Great food, and an amazing view of waterfall from your seat.

A shame for Schaffhausen! Waiting in line for 35 minutes with really little activity and almost only coffee orders, then waiting another 26 minutes for 2 portions of fries and a hot dog, which of course were ultimately cold. How can something like this happen?! Really, very disappointing and probably only survives thanks to the boat tourists who stop there once - and never again.

The view is awesome and the hot dog was super tasty.. you also get to customise it yourself with a wide variety of sauces + pickles ans fried onions. Don’t listen to the bad score of the place and give it a try.

Fries for 7 euros in a cardboard box, totally dry and hard to eat without ketchup or mayonnaise. A small bottle of soft drink 0.33 for 5 euros is an absolute exorbitant price. Self service!!! Even though the prices in Switzerland are generally high, this was a rip-off

Be careful: the "food" in the high season consists of Chinese ready-made food and carelessly half-rotten burgers. Woe betide you if the food inspectorate visits you!

Terrible food. Ordered two items. - Watery sauce in a bread pocket that is tasteless. - 4 small bits of fish fillets for 15CHF! Would not recommend

Today we were with friends at this bistro. I cannot give a positive opinion, since the service is really very very very bad, today there were two Spanish-speaking foreigners with a lot of disrespect without serving customers but the most annoying thing is that when you ask them about your order after After half an hour of waiting, they laugh in front of the customers, disrespecting them. The food is mediocre, the bun is cold, the sausage is warm... and there was a long wait of about 20 minutes for it to be cooked even though it is a bistro. A good place to have a snack after boating.

45min waiting for an almost cold hotdog with fries. Never again

Simply bad - actually so bad that this is the first time I've rated something.

This place has a great view and amazing hotdogs, don’t ask about the service though, it really takes them effort just to talk, the location on the other hand is spectacular, you can just forget about anything while you look at the waterfall

Waiting time of over 45 minutes when there is little activity. Catastrophe. You can't make any progress at the self-service counter. Sunday lunch there was still 1 dish to choose from. Even for that you wait almost an hour. How can Hod Dogs go out??? You have to deliver something better at a tourist attraction like this, unless you don't want to make any money. Please change the host here.

Very small selection, poor quality and expensive

Don't call this dish "Goulash" Gulyás. It's nothing to do with the traditional Hungarian dish. It was terrible! Everything is expensive i got it , you have to pay the spot, but then serve good food not Garbage.

Modern snack bar with self-service counter and seating with the world's best view of the Rhine Falls. Priced in the upper range; My homemade fries and hot dog for 17 SFr were very tasty. What didn't go down well with me was that all the tables were dirty and the staff didn't care about it.

Dishes 1, 3 and 7 were not good. The N1 dish was inedible.

Sitting on the balcony and looking at the Rhine Falls is wonderful. From here the boats start for the crossing to Laufen Castle, to the central rock of the Rhine Falls and for a tour of the turbulent basin below the falls. With a trained eye you can see how the daring tourists climb the central rock.

Good view from the terrace. Food (bread bag with vegetables) doesn't taste particularly good. Overall, the place makes a subjectively slightly dingy impression.

Of course, a cafe in this location and an absolute tourist hotspot is expensive. But the hot dog without a side dish for 13 CHF makes your wallet a lot easier. And for anyone who wants to pay in EUR: no problem. The rate is then simply very easy to convert 1:1!

Absolutely underground. After 45 minutes of waiting, we intervened. A Schörre that was ordered was sold out, the replacement, cold. The other one was ok. The price was exorbitant. Cashier staff was friendly. Not recommendable!

Best view of rheinfall while you eat. They have limited food options but food was good. Lot of option for cold and hot drinks. This is a place to sit, relax and enjoy the view.there is also a souvenir store next door.

We have never met such a cheeky host in any restaurant anywhere in the world. Absolutely rude, arrogant, low-level. What a huge shame for such a great place. A tourist stronghold in the canton and such a low-level manager/cashier. Extremely embarrassing guy (with a mustache and a Slavic accent who calls himself the boss). Guys like this have no place in restaurants. The HR department really failed there. After such a long way to the Rhine Falls, such a big disappointment. Never again! Will not recommend to anyone!

Chläggi Schnörre, pretty lean, it could still do with some salad

C'est le lieu idéal pour prendre une bouchée et regarder les chutes, depuis l'extérieur comme il y a le Covid. Le repas est bon mais sans plus. Les prix un peu cher je trouve.

Great location with a beautiful view of the Rhine Falls. The fries are homemade and taste excellent.

Wir waren am Sonntagmittag zu dritt, zum Fondue Essen im Inseli Bistro. Richtig schönes Alphütten Feeling. Mit sehr viel liebe dekoriert. Der Service war freundlich und sehr nett, einfach perfekt. Wir werden wieder kommen und auch mal am Abend.

What a great experience with such friendly and courteous service, excellent food and drink, fantastic views and top value for money. A big recommendation! To explain the bad reviews: The tenant recently changed (we were told by the boss).

Incompetent and ignorant staff for 4 portions of Momo we were told to wait 30 minutes. Ok we waited after 40 minutes I approached to ask if it was ready but nothing the waitress replied that I had been warned that it would be long, 30 minutes and not an hour...

If I could, I would close the store. Calling something like this a bistro and gastronomy is wrong. Simply under every pig, cleanliness on the tables, a non-disinfected pager in the Corona, unfriendly. Anyone who cannot fry frozen fries has no right to exist. Such shops in tourist places are a disgrace for CH and SH.

Over-salted fries and over-salted prices...hot dogs are made with Landjäger sausages, not Wienerli. It took a lot of getting used to... Ice cream offering was very weak, we then found something nice outside. Only the view was great! Don't recommend it.

We came for coffee with small snacks. Coffee is good and the view is fantastic!!! I enjoyed here a lot. Personal service freindly.

Heute waren wir am Rheinfall. Zunächst zum Mittagessen im Schlössli Wörth und am späten Nachmittag zum Snack hier. Wer nur etwas schnelles und evtl. auch nur kleines zum Essen braucht, ist hier gut versorgt. Man kommt schnell an die Reihe und man bekommt all das was man sich von einer Wurstbraterei und einem Bistro wünscht. Die Preise sind angemessen und das Essen (wir hatten Bratwürste) ist einwandfrei. Die Aussicht auf den Rheinfall ist natürlich der Hammer. Absolut empfehlenswert nicht nur wegen den Biergartentischen im Freien.

First of all, sorry for my German, BUT it's an absolute rip-off, everything is way too expensive, e.g. bratwurst with a roll and 0.5 liter drink for 14.90 CHF, it's still an absolute mess!!!!!!! Self-service, everything just frozen, terrible food quality and so on... I wouldn't even eat this food for free!!!! Again, I can't say enough good things about this “restaurant” that makes you vomit!!!! Ugh, hands OFF!!!!

Nice Self Serve Restaurant with a nice view of Rheinfall.

Der Kaffee und Cappucino sind sehr gut, ansonsten kann man nicht viel Positives berichten. Alles wirkt abgenutzt und nicht sehr sauber. Bahnhofsatmosphäre halt. Man muss an der Theke bestellen, bezahlen und sich selbst "bedienen". Danach wird erwartet, dass man das Tablett mit Geschirr in einem dafür vorgesehenen Wagen selbst versorgt. Für den bestellten Prosecco gab es keine Gläser sondern nur 0,5l Plastik-Bierbecher.Dafür sind die Preise unangemessen hoch. Das Personal hat teilweise Mühe mit der deutschen Sprache, ist aber freundlich.Einziger Lichtblick ist die wunderschöne Aussicht auf den Rheinfall! Aber die kann man auch geniessen, ohne zu konsumieren.

Sehr unangenehme Angestellte, die bei jeder Anfrage einfach NEIN sagen. Ich frage stattdessen nach Kaffee mit wenig Schaum und mehr Milch - zuerst sagten sie, dass es nicht möglich ist und dann nach 3 Euro! ! ! für die Milch.

Staff overwhelmed. Only open restaurant, even when the weather is nice and there are lots of guests. Price performance quality...an impertinence. The friendly staff can't help it either. A pity.

Hier gibt es definitiv den besten Kaffee am Rheinfall!! Die Inneneinrichtung mit den roten Stühlen aus den 80ern ist Geschmackssache. Entscheidend ist, was man bekommt. Freundliches Personal, leckeren Kaffee und super Aussicht!

Spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. Their sandwiches are quite nice, though they were poorly stocked at 12 noon, which was kind of unfortunate. A nice place to sit down for a quick bite and enjoy the view before or after your boat ride.

VERY Pity...not enough staff on SUNDAY...you have to wait 15-25 minutes for a portion of fries

遊覧船の待ち時間にセルフサービスなので時間のめどが立ちやすいことから立ち寄りました。目の前のものを見て頼めるので来たいはずれはありません。カレーヴルストコンボセット（18.8フラン）チキンナゲットコンボセット（20.3フラン）いずれもフライドポテトとペットボトルの飲み物がつきます。観光地料金ではあるなと思います。私たちはそれにパイを2個付けて（3.7フラン×２）3人でシェアしました。見晴らしはよく、暑い日だったので日陰での食事はありがたかったです。ラインの遊覧船を見ながら食事をして期待感を膨らませました。

Personal kann kaum Deutsch dazu selbst für die Schweiz horrende Preise!Das ganze Lokal roch nach altem ranzigem Fritierfett, die Portionen sind sehr klein. 23.30Fr. für eine ungewohnt kleine Portion Schnitzel Pommes sind 70% mehr als man sonst zahlt. Vorausgesetzt sie finden einen weiteren Ort mit solchen Portionsgrössen....
