Very beautiful island. Food was very tasty. :)

Food not fresh: truffle fries and fish crispy, light, not crispy. Dessert good, fruit unwashed. Service inattentive and poor: don't know what kind of fish is served and don't follow up on the question. The feedback on the quality of the food only received a sober “Really?” back.

The entire catering industry was completely overwhelmed; not enough staff. Waiting time > 1 hour. Congratulations to the waiter who remained calm despite countless complaints.

Service doesn't work. 1 hour waiting time. Badly organized. Little staff. It's a shame for the beautiful island.

Very high prices (CHF 30 for just some pieces of Fischknusperli, without a small salad or some fries on the side), CHF 9 for a big Bier from the tap. Very slow service, but it’s not their fault. One person responsible for around 30 tables can’t do a lot. Everybody is waving and getting upset, stressful atmosphere. People were leaving after a long wait. But it’s the only place on a small island. You don’t really have an option to go somewhere else. Very disappointing for such a nice location. Waiting 50‘ to order and another hour to get some uncomplicated food, like sausage, fries and grilled vegetables. Service was friendly but should be double the people in service to get the job done. Or just remove half the tables to keep everyone happy.

The food was ok but completely overpriced for what you get. Service was terrible! The starter came after about 1/2 hour but we waited 2 hours for the main course! We had to point it out to different waiters several times until we finally received it. Then the 1/2 was missing and we had to wait for that again. My 1 year old son fell asleep because of the long wait and I wanted to take his food with me and the waiter said he would bring me something so I can pack it MYSELF? I asked him to do it himself, it took another 20 minutes and again with two questions. At the end we had to ask for the bill about 4 times. Oh and the coffee was terrible. Never again!

Unfortunately, service is inefficient and unfriendly even at the end of the season. Wait 25 minutes until the drink is served. 30 minutes of waiting until you can order the food (fries came lukewarm) and another 15 until you can pay, on a Monday. After waiting 30 minutes, guests at the same table asked the waiter that they wanted to order and received the answer that 20 other guests also wanted to order. How wonderful the self-service buffet used to be!!

A peaceful, beautiful island spot. Old walls, ruminants on the pasture, boat dock and the particularly beautiful garden restaurant under the trees. Perfect Sunday outing.

The island economy is very well organized, a clear menu on a meter of wooden board 😅leaves nothing to be desired. The racy bratwurst is really racy 😓👍

A nice place... fish crust... very good but a bit low for the price 🤔

The restaurant is comfortably located under various trees. We were able to order our drinks quickly and they were served quickly. We placed our food orders and were ignored for over 20 minutes afterwards. At some point a salad came and then we were left behind again. The salad plate had long been empty when we asked the staff about our main courses. The waiter then said snidely that he had already ordered the main courses in the kitchen when he put away the starters. (The empty salad plate was still on the table) A few minutes later the waiter brought the main courses and said that the order had not arrived in the kitchen. As an attentive host, he should have noticed that we had been waiting for our food for ages. He then just said: It can happen. When we reordered the chicken pancakes, he left the empty chorblets with us and only realized when we served the supplement that we had no room left on the table. On the whole, the staff seemed very overwhelmed and completely uncoordinated. The taste of the food was still very good. The restaurant can afford these things as there is otherwise nothing to eat or drink on the island. It's a shame that this incident spoiled the whole evening.

Nice location, Fischchnuschberli were too dry, service friendly. I would have given my criticism on site, but no one seems to be interested! In any case, the guest is not asked whether he was satisfied. A pity.

Very nice place 👍👍I came with friends who were there for the first time. To be honest, I was ashamed. Food was good. Service was hasty. Plates were edge defective color crumbled🙈🙈 I would dispose of something like that at home. It's a shame I won't be coming back so quickly.

I had seen a TV report, I didn't know that there had been a change of host, I went there with my friends full of anticipation and was looking forward to the fish crispy, it was a disaster so "scary"!!! I had never eaten fish crispy in my entire life, and for 29.-Fr it was an absolute disgrace, the bacon in my friend's salad was completely burnt and inedible!!!! The dishes are also very questionably worn and chipped, which can be dangerous, such dishes should be thrown away! No thanks never again........

Really beautifully located and living on Lake Zurich myself, I had never been there in my entire life and was welcomed there with fantastic service, a very great ambience and a well-kept restaurant. The young, pretty serving staff, who are very well trained and do their job really well, surprised us very positively and we had to admit that we definitely won't go there for the last time, even if you can only get there by boat and only occasionally.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Great service from the young man from Columbia. Interesting to eat the fish from the lake and wash it down with wine made from grapes grown on the island. Would recommend.

A very beautiful, well-kept island. A finely run restaurant/garden with large trees for shade. It is absolutely worth visiting this island.

We've been there a few times now but avoid this restaurant whenever possible. I now know a few people who also avoid the Insel Ufenau restaurant. 1. The food is OK, but certainly not of great quality. 2. The prices are like in the city of Zurich and completely overpriced, the price/performance ratio is not right at all. 3. The service staff is mostly friendly, but not at all attentive. You can actually be happy that you are noticed when you call out to them. This means that paying is often VERY difficult, even though there isn't much going on. 4. I wanted to order 3 dl of still water, the answer from the lady in service was, we only have 5 dl or 1 liter. In the end I didn't order anything. I think it's a shame that the operator of this restaurant doesn't care at all whether the guests are satisfied or not.

Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the service and gastronomy on the island of Ufenau. I really appreciated the beautiful island of Ufenau even before the change of operator and visited it regularly to enjoy delicious fish crispy there. When the new restaurant opened, I was thrilled with the new design of the terrace and interior. Because of the beautiful location, I visited the restaurant several times, but I noticed that the quality of the food and service decreased with each visit. The staff, some of whom don't speak German, are rude, rude and impatient. The employees do not respond to banal customer requests (such as changes to the order just a few seconds after the order was placed). At times, I and my colleagues were treated inconsiderately and disinterestedly - no trace of effort or hospitality, even though we were the only guests in the late afternoon. The various dishes I tried taste average, and cannot make up for the poor service. Under these circumstances, I say goodbye to your restaurant as a guest. It's a shame, but the price-performance ratio is no longer right. Unfortunately, the operators did not respond to criticism or feedback.

I sometimes organize sailing with friends and was there yesterday and also send the feedback directly I was there last year and didn't say anything but now it's no longer possible... Last year we ordered iced coffee and it came warm. After I asked, they said it comes out of the machine like this, we always do it like that. You have a Nespresso fully automatic machine. And the employees then apparently just pressed iced coffee. Didn't think about putting ice cubes in, the machine can't do that. Yesterday there were 6 of us sitting at table 142. The order was accepted hastily. While we were ordering, other waiters came twice and asked the Chef de Service something. Without her, nothing works. I ordered fries with two cutlery. Came without cutlery. Mini portion. The fries were not salted. The second portion of fries was forgotten and took 35 minutes. The meatballs came without any side dishes and the missing side dishes were not pointed out when ordering. The waiter who brought us coffee never carried a tray. Without exaggeration, half of the coffee arrived because the rest was on the tray. I was cautious at first because I thought it was a new, inclusive business for people with disabilities, but the boy was just completely lost. There was no one to pay. After 25 minutes we went to the bar and were sent back to the table. When we asked about Hahnewasser we were told the dispensers were no longer available. When we were allowed to pay after 35 minutes of waiting, we were not allowed to pay separately but had to pay everything together and negotiate between each other. My companion wanted to give a two franc tip and round up the bill, but that wasn't possible. You had the choice between 5 chf or more or nothing at all. So there was a 5 chf tip for zero service. The atmosphere in the business is just disgustingly stressful and arrogant and it's a tourist trap like no other...that ruins the whole atmosphere of the island. Peclard should be ashamed.

Both the food and the service were very bland and bad - a shame for the beautiful place

We had 3 burgers and a fried nugget, so we waited over an hour and a half hour for the bill. The prices already seemed high and we were even more disappointed when we received an ordinary burger without fries or salad for 30.-.

Awesome experience, sitting in the patio, under the shade of the trees and enjoying good food and drinks.

The reception is more than cold and unfriendly. Service sometimes chaotic and overwhelmed. From the moment the food could finally be ordered, it came to the table in 5 minutes (hmmm). However, the fish crispies were dry and underbaked. I have no idea why Ufenau doesn't achieve the same quality as Fischer's Fritz... the salad with crispy fish had 4 pieces, and the Bürli was also forgotten. Potato salad bland and ice cold. It's a shame, it's a shame, but from the first minute until we left we had the feeling of being a nuisance. The location is nice, but that's about it. We won't go there again until the quality and hospitality improves.

Nice restaurant on a beautiful island

We got treated to this restaurant by a client that was very excited about the place. Thursday evening after a hot summer day at work (no Aircon), we really deserved a good experience (group of 12). The ride to the island was short and sweet. It is beautiful to explore but we were starving. The restaurant served food on the day only outside and rightfully so. The tables are in the shade of a giant fig tree with views of lake, mountain, vineyard and church on the hill. It was picture perfect with cooling evening weather to match. I read map reviews complaining on the service. For us, on this day it was faultless. The huge menus came out with cold water instantly. We ordered few of the recommended starters to share and within 10 minutes these were coming out. Beer and wine kept coming on time. The starters were excellent and between the fried fish, sushi, salads, meat and cheese (yes, plus two pints of beer), I could skip the mains. Still, the schnitzel was hard to pass. Probably the largest I ever had. Not sure how I coped with that (I am shamed to say I cleaned the plate with effort). Overall a fantastic experience. The overall atmosphere is very casual and rustic including the tables, plates etc. Toilet also houses separately from main building (not clean). The prices are on the other hand very "fine dining". I guess if I had to pay instead of the client, i would be less forgiving. Recommended if the weather is good and you don't mind paying a little extra for the view and rustic experience.

We had to wait 50 minutes for the food, which is very bad with children! The offer is simply too large, as many guests always come at the same time. Even the second time this summer, we didn't see a whole plate or bowl, all the edges were damaged, the granddaughter even had a splinter in the dish! Not to mention the high price!!!!!!

A restaurant is great when the ambience, food and service are right! If that's true, I'm happy to pay a little more! The three of us were on the Ufenau this afternoon. Despite asking twice, our order was only taken after a 20 minute wait. I already mentioned that I have to go back to work in 1.5 hours! The drinks arrived after 35 minutes (at 27 degrees!), and we waited more than 80 minutes for our food from the time we ordered! I was able to wolf down my salad with egg in 5 minutes, squeeze the tartar into the roll that was way too small and run off to make sure I got to work on time. It can't be and especially not at this price! I can't speak of enjoyment after this experience! I find the waiting times absolutely unacceptable and they weren't even made aware that it could take longer (until it was far too late)! It's a shame about the beautiful atmosphere! The organization of this beautiful restaurant is an absolute disaster! Sorry for the photo, but unfortunately this is what my stress menu looked like when I ate it (pictured below) because I took it with me in the paper bread bag.

Outrageously expensive, 1 piece of cake costs 9.5 or even 11 francs! Not very hospitable! Place would be nice to stay!

Largest island in Switzerland 🇨🇭! Definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has a beautiful garden with large trees that offers enough shade. The service is good but unfortunately not anymore. Except for the one woman, Rita I think, she was very friendly. The prices are very expensive and there aren't huge portions either. But the food was delicious.

Best food I've ever eaten + Zukerwate with glass and marsh melody can only be recommended, the conditions are great:)

The 2 stars are more for the pretty, well-kept island. The island economy is currently no longer worth visiting. Tip: Once around the island and then off to the next ship.

Dry, bland meatballs on broken dishes. Quality is something else

Outrageous prices for outrageously puny portions (a vegetable cake the size of a frozen cheese ramequin from Migros - i.e. 3-4 bites - for 19 Fr...), light fish "crispy" which mainly consists of breading, detached, inattentive staff ... When we wanted to go inside because of a thunderstorm, we were told that only guests who had reserved were allowed... Never again, despite the beautiful surroundings!

Good, uncomplicated, great view, efficient staff, of course, the cooking here is for day trippers, not for a gourmet experience. That's exactly why I think the quality is quite good all around.

Efficiency is more important than hospitality.. Reservation required.. Stunning atmosphere for sure. Fast service. Food, well... prices high, especially... also drinks. You have to see it. Come back..????

Service staff very friendly. Food was very expensive. I think 28.- for a burger without a side dish is really excessive. The cold plate price/performance was better. Although I don't think canned cucumbers are very sustainable... The island is beautiful.

The beautiful surroundings didn't make up for the food. The fish crispies were doughy and not crispy at all. They were served to us about 3 minutes after we ordered. Everything was probably fried a long time ago. The service was sometimes very arrogant. It's a shame about this beautiful place.

A very nice restaurant in a wonderful location. The food and service didn't convince me. There is still a lot of potential for improvement here.

Well, I read a lot of reviews in advance and I have to say that I was torn about whether I should try this food adventure. I dared and was not disappointed. The product quality was impeccable, the salad was fresh, the fish crispy was juicy and freshly prepared. Service was okay (you don't feel particularly welcome), but I was served the food within 20 minutes. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back.

A dream island with good offers

Our visit to the island restaurant Ufnau was a pleasant experience. Located amidst the island's idyllic greenery and under the shady canopy of majestic trees, the restaurant offers a truly unique ambience. It is a place where you can experience the beauty of nature up close and enjoy a delicious meal at the same time. The restaurant staff was friendly and attentive, even if it was sometimes noticeable that they were overwhelmed given the number of guests. This occasionally led to longer waiting times, but these were somewhat offset by the idyllic surroundings. The quality of the food was okay. The dishes were tasty and lovingly prepared, perhaps lacking that certain extra that would have made them something truly special. A special highlight of the island restaurant Ufnau is the opportunity to take a wonderful walk around the restaurant. These walks offer an idyllic nature experience that is an excellent complement to a visit to a restaurant. In summary, I can say that the island restaurant Ufnau is definitely worth a visit, especially for nature lovers who appreciate good food in a unique environment. With some improvements, the restaurant could delight its guests even more.

The ambience is still very nice. However, the prices are far too high for what is on offer. The dishes are overpriced for the measly portions. The staff isn't particularly friendly either. Plates are cleared away even if someone is still eating.

Food was very good, but rather small portions. I thought it was a shame that the service person really showed his stress (not verbally) A playground for the children (besides the tree trunk) would be great

Great place to visit, attractive map. The cream slice is absolutely top notch and a must. Be careful, a single person can get fed up with it 😉 Lots of tables with benches; Suboptimal for comfort.

Unfortunately things are getting worse; …fish crispy; are with a lot of breading and the contents of whitefish taste very pale, old and bulbous with no taste, so no Chnusperli as it is advertised. The truffle fries were too salty and very hard, the rose wine Miraval for almost 70.- was a disgrace; over 3x the purchase.

It was my first time on the island. Despite the restaurant being full, everything went very quickly with friendly staff. Great 💪💪👍👍

It's worth a visit to the Ufenau

A company of the Béclard Group. Small portions at sometimes obscenely high prices, with industrial quality. The Ufenau is not in the city of Zurich. If the group already trains its employees itself, which is very desirable these days, the training should be good and not a quick fix. What is very commendable is the shuttle service for the coopers.

Formed team. Friendly, customer focused. Fast service despite the large rush of guests. Food rich and high quality. All Swiss products as far as my food was concerned.

We were massively disappointed. The crew was completely overwhelmed on this beautiful Sunday. There were a lot of people but still free tables when we arrived around 1pm. We waited over an hour for our food without the waitress apologizing once. The portions are small and the prices are exorbitant. For a rather small salad bowl (leaf lettuce garnished with some cucumber, corn and carrots) with 6 fish crispies you pay a whopping 29 francs. We even think that charging 17 francs for a children's plate of fries with 4 chicken nuggets (modest portion size) is an absolute impudence. Next time we'll go for a picnic.

Saturday, June 3rd, table 306. High notes: beautiful location and delicious truffle fries. Low notes: the rest of the food ordered (burger, chicken and knusperlis) was below average. Therefore, overpriced. The service was H O R R I B L E!! The young man (beard, blond, short hair, blue eyes) awful!!! Rude, apathetic, unfriendly, unwelcoming, unpleasant, unhelpful, uncharismatic, unprofessional, unkind… clearly, unwilling to be there. What a shame!

A wonderful place surrounded by nature. The restaurant is cozy and informal. The atmosphere is quite relaxed. We have definitely had a good time there. The quality of the food is absolutely inline with the price. If you plan to do a little hike on the island, I’d recommend to stop by even just to enjoy the view while tasting a refreshing juice

After waiting twenty minutes for service (with the garden practically empty), we were disappointed: The order (food and drinks didn't arrive for what felt like an eternity. And when it started, everything came together (food and drinks together). The food wasn't worthy of the prices, the salad had been prepared for a long time, the fish crispies were "lampy", so nothing with crispy, the fries were unfortunately fried for far too long (crunchy like chips, i.e. hard). After we had finished eating, no one had cleared the table and asked if the food was tasty. We only saw the staff again when it came to paying. So complete disinterest in the guest! Going to the toilet was unsatisfactory, the facility was unkempt / poorly cleaned - and this was when there was little activity in the late afternoon. You just don't feel welcome. It's a shame - the concept of the place would be brilliant and the infrastructure would be perfect. There is one star for the hospitality/professionalism and food - five stars for the island. We'll try again when we get the chance, maybe it was just a bad afternoon...

We've been going to the island to eat for years. Were always thrilled. Last year it went to other tenants, it was ok, but this year, unfortunately no longer recommended: the staff was bad, arrogant and cheeky and the food was unfortunately no longer good at all, we had to wait over 1.5 hours for the food and The portions are so small that you're still hungry afterwards, and at these prices we're unfortunately totally disappointed

The food is unfortunately drowned in industrial mayonnaise. The island is beautiful and the trees you can sit under are unique.

The food and drinks are nice. The service is very slow though. Not the fault of the waiter, the place was heavily understaffed when we were there.

Great service and good dishes. Everything was delivered quickly and always friendly and thoughtful. We had fish snacks, mixed salad with chicken wings, and croissants with minced meat, cheese and applesauce. All very tasty.

Such a lovely area and the staff was super friendly! However, took over an hour to get our food; asked the server twice ( said it was due to the amount of people- although those around us were being served their food). Finally asked the woman in charge and 10 minutes after our meal finally arrived. They offered us a free cafe but on a warm day, no thanks! The classic- vegan- and fries were good but not for the price nor the long wait!

I ate the best burger of my life, and my friend also ate some some steak and they said it was great. Very good and friendly employee's, also a very beautyfull island, 9.5/10 only because of the the insects;) also a bit pricy but worth it for sure

Fresh excellent cuisine, which is highly recommended :))). There's even cotton candy, which is great for the young at heart too :))).

Unfortunately disappointing - apart from the Güggeli - everything was cooked "without love". 3 different waitresses, no “personal” care - there were 12 of us and we consumed quite a bit!!! In my opinion, value for money is not right! We are looking for a new place for our annual family reunion. Too bad 😪

Wonderful salad with the famous crispy fish – highly recommended.

We got microwaved Knüsperli, water mixed orange juice with a cold waves from the staff. New management should really reflect on their operations, earlier one was miles better.

Good food and simple surroundings in a casual atmosphere.

We 4 adults and 4 children were guests on a holiday with a reservation: Unfortunately, the very hard-working service employee was unable to give us an answer to a question about the drinks (Heino). I was allowed to personally pour myself the wheat beer for a considerable 9.-, as a starter we ordered the island platter with cheese and food for the children, the platter arrived relatively quickly. This was served with fine sausages, cheese and original Spreewald cucumber (quite expensive for the quantity) , we waited an hour for the children's meals, after we asked, we were very arrogantly informed by a young gentleman from the service that the children's meal was only ordered for the main course (but not by us). Shortly afterwards the children received their food including the side dishes of the adults' main courses, and another 8 minutes later the adults' main courses arrived (The side dishes were of course already cold) otherwise the dishes were delicious and generous. We were allowed to fill and refill the glasses from the magnum bottle of 1.5l Miraval Rose ourselves (the service was no longer present in the meantime). With the second bottle of 0.75 Miraval Rose we were already practiced at it and were able to further demonstrate our service qualities. There were 2 more occupied tables and a few guests upstairs, the terrace was empty! Conclusion: there is still a lot of room for improvement in the service, an arrogant and snippy reaction from service employees does not go down well with guests. The food was delicious, the side dishes were cold but warm after the complaint. The appointed, probably new deputy manager was understanding and very hard-working and even saw certain deficiencies! There was no compensation! We will probably stop by again by boat and hope that things will change for the better!

A beautiful place that we have enjoyed visiting often since last summer. A great menu and very nice staff. Unfortunately there is no children's playground…

Those were the good times when there was fine chicken in the Chörbli and other grilled goods on the island. Instead of a fillet from the grill, I now get a piece of meat on a hot stone. Offer and quality are disappointing. A pity.

We had lunch here as a group. The food was good. The service was very nice and quick. It was a bit chilly in the restaurant as the doors had to be open for service. I would come again because the location is special. I don't think it's worth it for the food alone, but it's worth a visit for a day trip with a boat trip.

Fondue ordered, received without bread and without fondue forks and without rechaud… According to the note, we were brought 'Bürli' as bread, the rechaud was OK but there were still no fondue forks... Service is subpar...

A beautiful garden restaurant under shady palm trees. We really liked the fish crispy and the fresh salad went perfectly with it. The cream slices, like in all Péclard establishments, are simply fine and huge. The service was friendly and very talkative :-) We really liked it on the Ufenau.

I've eaten better fish crispies. At the previous host the fish were crispy not doughy!!

It's a shame that the opening hours on the internet are not correct. On Sunday September 25th the restaurant was closed even though Google said it was supposed to be open.
