Kanchi in Luzern

It's worth a visit for Vietnamese food. It is not a traditional restaurant but practical and well located in Lucern.

Exquisite food and drinks (Mango Lassi a dream), recommended, within Swiss prices, highly recommended, options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, a lot of variety of dishes

Good and cheap food at lunchtime. The only downer: the buffet wasn't filled up quickly enough. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and helpful. And everyone could express themselves in German.

We Visited Kanchi restaurant from Australia in Luzern and must say food is amazingly delicious and staff especially Ratheesh is excellent in his job. Very humble, polite and helpful. If you are an Indian visiting Switzerland, Luzern-you must visit Kanchi for great food for value and amazing service. Loved it!! Kudos to the kanchi team and especially Ratheesh Will visit again whenever we come back to Swiss!! Thanks Prabi & Kiki 😊

Delicious Indian food, with friendly and warm service. The place is quite convenient and a 10 min walk from Luzern train station. We had the Veg Thali, which comes with Dal, 3 Subjis, Raita, Roti, Rice and a Dessert. Portion sizes were reasonable, and the food was fresh and very tasty, but slightly on the mild side. Service was prompt and they kindly switched one of the subjis on request as well. Well worth a visiting you are craving Indian food.

Kanchi is one of the most favourite restaurants in Switzerland. This restaurant always stays Top 1 in my list. Awesome in taste, ambience and hospitality. Thanks for the delicious food 🥰

Recently visited this place with my family. We did not have the reservation, but luckily there was a place. There were 5 of us and the table with only 4 chairs. We asked for the extra chair for 5 times and were waiting for 15-20 mins for the staff to organize it. I took one of the chairs from the other table (it was reserved, but the guests were not there). After that, one of the members of staff asked my husband to put the chair back, as it was reserved. We waited another 7 mins for the new chair to arrive. I am sorry, I do not understand how hard it is to bring and extra chair to the guest. Then, the chair was brought, but no cutlery. We asked 3 times for the extra cutlery. The food was okay, the empty bread basket was with us for 2 courses. It was quite long for the empty plates to be taken away, but I have to say, the restaurant was very busy. Overall, I it was an okay experience. Better order the delivery.

Went at 10:23 pm, walked in to someone cleaning floors and saying restaurant is closed. Then proceeded to say kitchen closes at 10:30 pm. It wasn't even that time and they were already scrubbing floors. Walked 20 mins to go there. Update your google map timings

Without a doubt this is the best Indian restaurant in Luzern. We tried 5-6 Indian restaurant in Paris, Interlaken and Luzern, all of them were somewhat disappointing but Kanchi had authentic taste. Recommended 👍

Bad service, unfriendly employees and only English

Were ripped off, waiter claimed the money wasn't transferred. But it was debited from the account. Complaints were not taken seriously and were blocked the entire time. We were even able to show that it was debited twice. It was said that we shouldn't make any drama because of this rather small amount, which in my opinion is unbeatable in terms of disrespect.

The food is delicious. You can choose how spicy you like your food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It‘s easier to speak english than german though. The last few times I was there there were not that many guests so it was relaxing. I can imagine it could get noisy when they‘re fully booked.

I’m honestly baffled by our experience at Kanchi Lucerne. We were a group of six, just popped in for some quick coffees and samosas. Simple, right? Not here. The manager told us we couldn’t just have coffee and samosas without ordering a main course first. Odd rule, but okay. The surprises didn’t stop there. We were then told that, we could take out our coffees but would take 40 minutes, despite several empty tables. To top it all off, there was apparently no milk available for the coffee. Our simple request turned into a weirdly complicated ordeal. Not quite the smooth experience we were expecting! 🤷‍♂️

Great and authentic taste i have had in all of europe. We had chicken tikka and chicken biriyani and also gulab jamun. The total cost was 53 chf which is reasonable According to switzerland standards. Must visit if you miss Indian food while in Europe.

We've been here many times and it's always great - very tasty, hospitable and nice ambience! The price-performance ratio is very good and the set menus are great for a varied dinner.

I recently dined at Kanchi Luzern, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offered an array of authentic Indian dishes that truly satisfied my taste buds. We tried a variety of items, including the Chicken Chettinad, Kadai Paneer, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti, Pakoda Platter, Samosa, Idli, and Gulab Jamun. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavors and textures. The Chicken Chettinad was rich and aromatic, and the Kadai Paneer had just the right amount of spice. The bread, including the Garlic Naan and Tandoori Roti, was fresh and perfectly cooked. The Pakoda Platter was a crispy delight, and the Samosa had a delicious filling. But what truly stole the show were the Idli and Gulab Jamun. The Idli was soft and fluffy, served with delectable coconut chutney and sambar. The Gulab Jamun was a sweet, syrupy indulgence that rounded off our meal perfectly. Apart from the fantastic food, I also appreciated the warm and hospitable atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. In conclusion, if you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Luzern, Kanchi is the place to be. I highly recommend trying their dishes for a taste of India right in the heart of Switzerland. My visit to Kanchi Luzern was truly brilliant, and I can't wait to go back for more.

Food is good, if a bit garlicky. Service is a bit on the slow side. The rasam is really good. Pakodas are just ok .... The oil smelled like it was old oil reused too many times.

So I’m a Indian from Leicester in uk. So I know about my Indian food. Anyway it’s my 1st visit to Switzerland. Stayed in a hotel 1 minute away and decided to have a evening meal at this place. Wow what a amazing experience. Staff were very welcoming. Ordered a veg thali. Food was excellent and didn’t had to complain about anything. Definitely worth a visit. Top customer service with a great atmosphere and good quality Indian food . Highly recommend!

We went for lunch,dinner and we ordered chicken biriyani, chicken 65,idly , tandoori chicken, everything was very good and tasty, also hygienic,and service also polite and amazing 👏..totally a worth place ..

Had to think about this a bit because the food and service were excellent. Reason why I gave it a 4.5 really was because I thought the ratio of Food portion to price was a bit off. But overall had a great time. Will definitely go again!

I went there for dinner with my mother in the evening and was really happy when we came in. We were moved to three places to sit. We weren't welcomed either and were sent to a single room, even though there were still a lot of free tables at the front for the Indian guests had available. We also had summer clothes on (free shoulders and legs) so we suspected that we were being moved because of our clothing style, because later other guests came and they were seated at the front even though nothing was reserved and we were alone in a single room at the back. Never again did we feel really discriminated against because we didn't dress the way you know. but still the food was excellent.

I was there on August 16th, 2023 in the evening. There was no greeting, it wasn't clear where to sit and we were placed in a back room even though they had already placed us in the front and it wasn't even reserved. We also wore short clothes (shoulder-free) and we got a lot of skeptical looks, but there were also a lot of Indian tourists, but they should treat us the same even if we wear less clothing than they are used to. I don't like going there again and I didn't feel very comfortable either. Nevertheless the food was good.

What a lovely experience after our harrowing experience in prague five riverrestaurant the staff was extremely polite and helpful that makes half the battle won food was very good and too much for 3 will defintly reccomend to others and come back in my next trip 🙂

Very good food with large portions. Unfortunately very slow service at lunchtime. It took forever for the order to be taken and a very long time for it to be sent. That spoiled the impression enormously.

Great place but can work on pricing

Visited on 13 July 2023 afternoon. Nothing is good. They call it buffet, but it contains only 4-5 items but they don't supply. They cannot fool Indians but they can fool others who do not know proper Indian dishes. I just don't encourage this restaurant for others.

have been going here since high school (almost ten years). back then the all-you-can-eat-buffet at lunch time was still 12 francs. the good old times! now it’s 16.-. this is still a bargain and the food is very nice. i love lunch here💖 the servers are very friendly. kanchi forever!!!

This restaurant was close to our hotel while visiting Lucerne. The food was excellent as was the service. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions when we asked. My family thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A truly delicious and authentic Indian restaurant with outstanding staff.

Delicious Indian food right in the center of Lucerne. The service is very polite and friendly, the ambiance of the restaurant is good with a nice view out of the windows. And the food is of very high quality, well presented and very tasty. Great for lunch or dinner.

We stopped by for lunch with a group of 9 (Indian, African and Eastern Europian travellers). Some had the buffet and some ordered from the menu (fish and lamb kebabs). All were very satisfied with the food, spice level, tenderness of the meat and the flavour. Service was efficient. Definitely a good place for a quick nutritious lunch for a variety of palates.

Place to avoid. Staff was rude, started taking our order then left abruptly because some westerner asked for the bill. Food was below average. Much better options on Lucerne.

A small piece of India snuggled in the corner just before old town! Loved the food and the service both. Very lean staff (they have 2 servers catering over 25 tables) but we didn’t have to wait too long to give the order or get the food. Highly recommend their Kadhai paneer and paneer butter masala. ❤️

The food was amazing. A 19 chf thali with Dal Palak, Aloo Matar, Rice, Raita, papadam and a dessert - this place hits home. The food quality was amazing and the price is very reasonable considering the 12 chf burgers and sandwiches. Indian food at it's best. One must definitely visit here for Indian food. The staff was also very courteous and polite.

We had lunch buffet today. Lunch was very authentic and delicious. I think it’s the best Indian food in Lucerne. And the staff is very friendly and happy to serve customers. Especially brinjal and veg curry super duper delicious. I would definitely come back next time . I highly recommend.

We randomly chose this Indian restaurant which is located on the first floor in the center of Lucerne. Good choice. The food is really good and to confirm this, the presence of 'real' Indians was more than 60% of those present. We took the menu with meat and the choice was spot on. We will return

Ordered through Uber Eats. Veg Biryani was very tasty. This was the first time I had Meduwadi, but I found them quite dry, even with the sauces. Packaging and delivery were good.

Nice Multicusine Pan-Indian restaurant in Lucerne. The restaurant appears to be famous among locals. Service was quick and the overall bill was light 😀 on the pocket. We had nice idly Sambar and Chai. Goodone.

One of the best place to have Indian taste far away from India . Tandoori starters and fried fish tastes like you are sitting in some place in india . My wife tried dosa and it was also very authentic tasting as they have two chefs in their kitchen one for north indian food and one for south indian food , if you are looking indian food in lucerne don’t miss this place

Good restaurant in Luzern for Indian food..nowadays become expensive in comparison to two or three years. But people who want Indian food have good options here.

Ordered masala chicken (butter chicken), lamb biryani, and butter naan. They also provided a side of white rice for free. The employee also served us a portion of our meals on the plate, which was another added courtesy bonus. Love the taste of the food as it’s heavily seasoned with spices and complemented with flavorful sauce. Have to go up to the second floor to eat — right across from Lowenplatz. Mainly North Indian cuisine.
