Mad a mistake ordering chinese dish here. They have no idea how it should taste and look. Japanese menu looks insufficient and poor, dish by even US standards, not mentioning Japan. Even dish photos are bad. No wonder this place was almost empty on saturday night.

Very good restaurant! The setting doesn't look like much but the welcome is very pleasant and professional. We ate very well and the service was attentive. Menu offering a wide choice of Asian dishes with many Japanese specialties. The gyozas were excellent as well as the slate dish and the breaded beef. The prices are very reasonable.

I got some chicken noodles to go. 24.- still, it's not bad expensive. Besides, they don't offer any discounts when you take away, which is a shame. And surprise when I got home, it's not very good, the portion is small and the quality of the noodles is not great. So clearly out for chicken noodles. I wouldn't go back there.

We came here for the first time and it was a true delight. We’ve ordered the spicy chicken, spicy duck and rice noodles with beef. Every dish was freshly made (you could find leftovers of actual spices in it), all the meat was extremely tender, and the overal taste was just delicious! Also the service is one of the many positive points here. The waitress was very thoughtful (including asking for allergies and ingredients you didn’t like - she checked with us in advance) We’re so happy to have tried this place and are definately coming back! My partner and I were longing for asian food and chanced upon this place online and thought we should give it a try - we did not regret it. Service was superb! Owner/staff was extremely attentive, food was good and kinda reminds me of home. The place although not like how you'd expect to be but it is quaint, humble and unpretentious. We felt really welcome here and we highly recommend Kazoku :)

This restaurant is supposedly the best "Japanese restaurant" in Lausanne on trip advisor. Let's make it clear, it is a Chinese restaurant with disgusting Japanese food (bad quality sushi) and acceptable/good Chinese food. Although 60% of their big menu is Japanese food... They don't follow the same Covid rules of entry to the restaurant as do all other restaurants in Switzerland. So basically if you are a fully vaccinated tourist with a recognised vaccine in Switzerland you can't enter there ( so we ate on the terrace) Service: super slow service they left us with the menu for 30min and the waiting time even for drinks was unbelievable. + They gave us 4 times dishes we didn't order: MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE BILL AT THE END. In Lausanne, there are better option for Chinese food ("chez Xu" for example) and for Japanese ("taiyo")

My first time at Kazoku last night with my partner and a friend and it won't be our last. Really tasty, authentic dishes. You are asked for your heat level by the attentive and kind waitress (who with her husband the chef are running the restaurant) - we had three dishes with three heat levels - nearly high, medium and medium low and they were all delivered perfectly. While we could not sit at the teppanyaki bar during COVID regulations the meals were freshly and individually prepared. The nice thing is that the prices are good value. We had beers and sake with our meals and the prices here are also good - no price gouging on drinks at all. I'll admit the decor won't be to everyones liking, but for cheap and tasty food with great service, i'll be back :-)
