Cool place (gave me NYC vibes), We ordered the vegeterian chef's menu which consisted of 6 courses for 85 CHF. Loved it! Very tasty and innovative.

Modern Asian. Delicious reinterpretations of East and South-East Asian cuisine, using mainly local produce. Mouth-watering snacks are included with the set menu.

Highly Recommended. The service is excellent. The food is exceptional and very tasty and seasonal. Will definitely come back.

The place itself isn't bad, however the value for money is a bit exaggerated but it's understandable given the number of staff! The food isn't anything special, it's good but nothing special. The only thing I liked was the dessert! Friendly staff and nice environment!

Well, Kin managed to meet my high expectations alright - for disappointment! The food was decent, but definitely not worth the hefty price tags. Their idea of creativity? Serving cucumber slices and rice chips and calling it Carpaccio for a cool CHF 19. Wine? Overpriced. As for the service, one staff member was doing her job well, while the other decided that a tip should be automatic, regardless of the quality of his service. His attempt to squeeze an extra CHF 17 out of me was quite the spectacle, complete with a side of aggression that added an unexpected flavor to my dinner. I am hoping tomorrow's clients have smoother interactions – and a thicker wallet!

This is, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant in Zurich. The ever-changing seasonal menu always adds an exciting touch to every visit. The food represents Asian fusion at its finest. The staff, both waiters and kitchen, are exceptionally friendly and always willing to answer questions about the food, offering valuable cooking tips as well. Their expertise shines through in the skillful preparation of their dishes. Even as a vegan, I find plenty of delightful options on the menu, and for carnivores, there are equally impressive choices. The restaurant also impresses with its great cocktails and an amazing atmosphere, complemented by old-school hip-hop tunes that set the mood for a cool and modern dining experience. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Additionally, the prices for the tasting menu are also a steal.

Amazing experience from beginning the start. We took the chef's menu and were really surprised by how diverse each taste was. Food is very qualitative. We were a bit sceptical about quantities but in the end we were full and here quality really wins over quantity. The only thing that could be improved in our opinion is service - we would have loved to have one person to take care of us the whole evening and not having each time someone different. Also the restaurant was quite cold because of ventilation, people were eating with their jackets on - until they turned it off. Will definitely come back and recommend this place! Went out for a birthday dinner and was looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately we had to wait over 1.5hrs for all our food to be served. The food itself was good but very small portions and expensive. Explained to the staff that we were disappointed in the time it took for the food to come out - no apology given. Overall feel that if the food had all come out together in a reasonable time or the staff had at least apologised then we wouldn’t have left so disappointed. Both still hungry and 200.- spent.

Beni and his team deliver one of the best Asian fusion cuisine that we’ve tasted. This guy never misses, the seasoning on each dish is spot on and you just crave for the next plate to arrive 🎯cool and attentive service, nice wines, great playlist in the background… life. Bravo KIN 😮‍💨

Bad value for money. Portions are tiny, flavours are average. The usual sharing problem: the nr of plates doesn't correspond the nr of people at the table. Service is so-so. Not recommended.

The taste was okay, but unfortunately really small portions for a lot of money. In particular, the bread that would otherwise often save the day is missing. Wine is poured very sparingly when served by the glass, and only natural wines are on the menu. Service rather unprofessional for the price level. Overall not recommended.

Creative cuisine. Good and relaxed service

This is one of my favorite places in Zürich.

KIN offers a creative asian fusion menu and an interesting selection of wines and somewhat too loud music. The presentation of the dishes receives a lot of attention. Unfortunately, the flavors and textures of most dishes fell way short of expectations for the ambitious price tags, resulting in a poor price-quality performance.

Every course is an exciting and tastefully satisfying experience. Well done, praise to the kitchen!

A bit pricey and service was somehow slow when we were there. We ordered the 5 courses menu. And about 30min after one of the dish with nothing more coming to the table, we thought we were done and wanted to pay. They told us that two more dishes were about to come. So a pleasant surprise after all even though the communication could have been better. Otherwise friendly staff!

My new favorite dinner spot. Simple yet amazing tasting menu, for a great price. I’ve gone now multiple times and can not recommend it more. Cocktails are also spot on! Definitely get the miso salmon, best cooked salmon I’ve ever had!

Choose the 5 shared meal options...and not the single meal. The Vegan Meals are exceedingly tasty with a diverse burst of flavours...immer wieder gerne :)

Interesting, very well done fusion cuisine, professional, friendly and attentive service. The seating is super narrow (approx. 5 cm from the neighboring table), everything is in black, the lighting is too poor and dim for eating. The noise level is uncomfortably high, and there is also loud music.

Fine fusion cuisine. For my taste, it could have had a little more accents and less coriander. Great Beef Nam Man Hoi. The carrot tartare lacked umami, what I expect from the tartare was more of a raw vegetable salad. Friendly and committed service. Interesting organic/natural wines. Nicely decorated, cozy. Choice of music (hip-hop) was exciting, I found it suitable.

Wow, this was such a great dinner. It’s a super small, cozy place with incredible food. The menus are to share. Can highly recommend this place. Super good value for money. Don’t miss it :)

Perfect food and very friendly service. Every course is a surprise and was always explained to us by the employee. The wine selection is also very well matched to the food. Even the dessert was perfect. A really nice evening with a small minus. The owner has to decide whether it is a disco (music is very loud and you can hardly talk together) or a very good restaurant. We would go back to eat in a heartbeat if the music was turned off. Price performance is good.

*** Warning*** I'm going on a little rant... ;) Swiss restaurants sometimes get a bad rep for having really expensive food that also isn't that great. I've been to several restaurants that prove this wrong, but I have also been to restaurants that fit right into that category. Kin is in that category. I'm sorry guys it was just my experience!!! I also figure that enough people like this place that my review isn't really going to hurt anybody. We typically eat vegetarian but we decided to get real wild and go for the pescatarian tasting menu. This was 75CHF per person, with 7 dishes. The dishes were meant to be shared among the two of us, so when you look at a dish it really costs around 21CHF. We started with two salads that were quite yummy, then had two other fun bites - kimchi with peas and then a salad wrap with a really yummy fried chickpea thing, and then salmon with a side of greens, very nicely seasoned broccolini and a final dessert. I can understand the salmon being pricey, but the other dishes (aside from the broccolini) were just very small and nothing totally insane. I left feeling slightly underwhelmed. The service was very friendly and attentive.

3 x tasting menu for 75 chf and only 2 of 9 plates with fish / meat (Tafelspitz with soy - I'd rather go to Kropf). Plus, hip hop is playing loudly in the bar the whole time during dinner! Unfortunately, more hipster shop than top restaurant.

Unfortunately, I have to say that going out and treating yourself to culinary delights for the slightly higher price wasn't very satisfying for you. We took the 6 dishes shared menu for 150.- / 2 p. What was served to us was extremely cheeky. When choosing 8 dishes + the "mystery dish" you first served us all the cheap dishes. The “mystery dish” which is actually made with octopus, do you make it with celery? Save costs? The first dish was prawn chips, absolutely boring served with carrots with way too much coriander. The second was a salad with beetroot which was far too dominant and garnished with tuna crumbs, even though we said that I don't eat fish. There were some protein chips on top which were absolutely tasteless. Then came this mystery dish, 4 balls with no nice presentation and very little taste. Then we got these carrot fries, 4 pieces.. Well, charging such prices for these ingredients.. I couldn't sleep peacefully. Then pulled pork with a sauce that overshadowed everything and tasted similar to a chip shop. The Radish Beef was ok, but for that price, boiled beef is a joke. Also simply placed in a broth served with some horseradish on top, which was very dominant. The dessert was delicious, but extremely small and not very special. Overall, we were still hungry afterwards, we weren't spoiled in the culinary bit and we also paid a bill that was high even for Zurich. At this price point for the menu, the dishes should knock your socks off and the ambience should be a little more welcoming. The music is very loud, the seating is rather tight, we were probably sitting. 50 cm to the next table. The fact that you only use cheap ingredients and sell them at overpriced prices is a disgrace, there is no other way to describe it. The margin on each of these dishes is exorbitantly high. As a rule, in the restaurant you earn your money from drinks and, depending on the situation, even spend almost more money on food. You, on the other hand, want to earn some money. I was with you first and last and I will definitely advise everyone against it, there are restaurants in Zurich that cost less and give me a culinary high.

Very tasty food with sophisticated combinations and exciting ideas. Since we arrived very late, there were only two dishes to choose from, both of which tasted wonderful. We were also served some rice to add a little more filling. The service was very nice, but unfortunately I found it to be very loud in this small restaurant, which made it very difficult to have a conversation with my companion. The dessert was really great, I've never had pandan before and was immediately impressed.

I came here for my birthday dinner and was excited until I read some reviews saying it was overpriced Asian fusion food. The restaurant is a bit hidden and there is only street parking available (good luck finding something…). The restaurant’s interior is black themed - tables, curtains, etc. The music is more upbeat like hip hop, so not as relaxing but still good. The menu card changes, and there were 9 options (including 1 dessert option). We chose the surprise menu, thinking it would be different than the 9 options on the menu card (it wasn’t). Do yourself a favor and DONT order the surprise menu and order the things you actually want. 4 of the 6 surprise menu plates were vegetarian. We also saved 4 CHF getting the surprise menu. The table next to us saved 1 CHF. One good thing about the menu is that they can accommodate any food allergies or make the dish vegan/vegetarian if you request. But I find it a bit steep to charge the 75 CHF per person for a vegetarian meal versus a meal with meat… The portions were smaller sized (I left hungry and I am a petite woman and was sharing half the dishes with a man). The 1st dish was the carrot laab, which was surprisingly good. The 2nd dish was the baked beetroot salad, which consisted of Chinese cabbage, pickled radishes, baked beet, with a ponzu sauce (but it tasted more like it was made with Calamansi instead of lemons or limes). The 3rd dish were the no potato fries made of radish, which were good, but not sure if it was worth that price. The 4th dish for us was the miso salmon (our neighbors had the pulled oxtail as I preferred no Mayo). This was also good, but would have preferred the salmon to be more medium rare or medium as it would then had more texture. The miso marinade is very light so you don’t taste it much. The kale was good, too. The 5th dish was the pho style beef. In my view, this was the most disappointing dish. First it was siedfleisch which is the cheapest of the beef cuts. The wasabi they dumped on top was way too overpowering. The broth concentrate below it was there to call it “pho style”. There was a dumpling on top (har go wrapper) with bone marrow (not so much inside). Before we got the final dish, the waitress literally wiped down the table with a wet rag. Not sure why this was necessary, as you could smell the cleaner product right before you get dessert. The final dish was the only dessert option, which was a pandan cream with chocolate crunch and canned pears at the bottom. Don’t waste your time or money on the wines and stick to the cocktails. All in all, it was an ok experience. As the others said, it was overpriced. I also left hungry. Not sure I would come back again.

A great restaurant for Swiss standard. The menu is mostly asian fusion, I think most people find it special but from an Asian perspective I guess the menu is quite basic and a bit overpriced for me. I think we ordered miso salmon, cauli-flower and blackpepper beef. Though the menu is quite special in Zurich, but honestly it’s not that special in Asia. Overall it’s a good dining experience for special occasion, but I won’t come back for the price. Spent 160CHF excluding tips for 2 people

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Switzerland. The ambiance is very inviting: minimal decour with asian influence and a (sparkling clean) open kitchen. The service is friendly and attentive, well trained on the offer pf the kitchen. The wine list is very well designed. The food itself is amazing, an ever-changing menu that always manages to surprise me. Vegetarian options are great too. In the end the price is balanced to what the restaurant offers. Extremely overpriced. Food is good, but nothing you cannot get somewhere else in town. The surprise menu comes with no dessert and little surprise… it’s what’s on the menu below. Bad air recycling, strong kitchen smell sticking to your clothes. To compensate, the door was open, so we were freezing. Service is very friendly but dishes come out slow. EDIT: given our experience, the restaurant has explained that the smell is a temporary issue and has offered us a full reimbursement or a free dinner, which we are considering. This is a very nice gesture, I’ve updated my rating accordingly.

Service was very nice. The sound was good - though a little loud. The light settings is on some tables a little disturbing because the shining chrome steel in the kitchen reflects sharp and vey bright light that at some spots blinds you. The food; We picked 4 different dishes nicely presented but the taste of all of them was kinda 'ok'. Nothing special in terms of how it was made, more spiced up with different spices and sauces. I still believe there's a lot of room for development in regards of the food, how it is processed and prepared. Especially if they want to keep that price tag.

A great experience for a first date because you choose about 5 dishes and share everything. Seems to be very popular. The outdoor area is rather narrow and residents squeeze through on their bikes. Toilet is very dark. And the food looks very nicely prepared, but doesn't taste commensurate with the price. Unfortunately after getting the bill we saw that the restaurant charges CHF8.00 for a 0.5L of TAP WATER… very disappointing and shocking especially when you’ve consumed multiples glasses of wine and spend hundreds of Swiss francs for their excellent food. Had I not had this bad experience I would have loved this place, but unfortunately the chf 8.00 for tap water left a bad taste in my mouth. In my opinion tap water should never be charged, and should certainly not be more expensive than bottled mineral water. Seams as this establishment takes it’s costumers for fools. And I don’t care if it’s 0.5L or 1.5L, tap water is tap water.

Dishes were excellent with bold flavours but many subtleties. However the dessert was far too sweet, I was unable to eat it. Purely based on the savory dishes they deserve all the stars, they did absolute magic with cabbage.

The first time I visited Kin was roughly 2 years ago and let's say Kin and I didn't have the best start, because beetroot was nearly everywhere on the menu (this of course is a matter of personal preference and says nothing of the quality of the dish itself) at that specific evening and the dessert didn't wow me either and there was no such a thing as a signature back then. Meanwhile Kin really evolved, the dishes make you come back for more. Be it the fake shrimp tempura, their stellar miso cheese cake or the spicy cauliflower side dish. The staff was and still is very friendly and professional. Can't wait for our next visit!

A great first dining experience for us at KIN. Asian fusion inspired restaurant, introducing traditional Japanese ingredients such as miso, panko or dashi in innovative creations (excellent notes for the cow tartare, the “fake” tempura shrimps and the miso cheesecake). Very kind and warm-hearted staff; interior is dark but not somber, kitchen is open so you see what is happening depending on the seating, love the music selection✌🏻modern tables and benches (and Covid dividers).
