Very sympathic! Staff top! Food top!

Had the cathedral breakfast for two today on Sunday. Didn't have to make a reservation and still had enough space at 9:45am. The breakfast was very tasty and balanced, the croissants were particularly delicious:) The cappuccino is also recommended:)

Unfortunately, price/performance is not right. We ordered an aperitif plate ("large") which was apparently intended to be a main course for 1-2 people. Price 28.50 is a joke. Negroni comes in the wrong glass, hardly any ice cubes. 2 stars because the location is nice.

Beautiful location for sure. On the other hand, the service is not pleasant and above all, surprise at the 6 CHF bill for the mini carafe of tap water which was taken away before I was able to drink it all. Also note, the portions are really small.

Be careful, there is a charge for water in a carafe, and costs 6.90chf. The dishes are average. Only the setting is nice. But way too expensive for the quality.

In this place you can have a very nice and good brunch. the atmosphere is inviting and the staff friendly.

Good location but sadly, rip-off merchants - we got charged 6 CHF for tap water, which is a stretch even by Swiss standards, and also just popped up on the bill unannounced. Avoid.

Innovative and good food and cakes, fabulous Zee - ambience unfortunately a bit stuffy, unclean tables - service was nice (!), but more for guests who don't have any plans for a long time, so with a lot of patience.... Prices are rather high. ..

We went to brunch and I was a little disappointed. Not a real brunch, just a portion for 1 or 2 guests. Everything tastes good, yes, but I'm used to more. Next time somewhere else.

The location is just in front of the bibliothec and very nice to stay on a sunny day. The mood of the waitress was not so good, she was not friendly at all. The food was ok but the coffee tasted as low quality.

Went here on a Saturday. The service was horrible. Just ordered a coffee and latte. Other who came in later were helped first, ridiculous. Personel is lazy.

The bistro is nice with its tables outside and is an excellent point to take a break while visiting the entire abbey complex and the city. Unfortunately, however, today it was a biblical time for service: to have just one course each plus water we were seated for an hour and a half; It doesn't make much sense, it's way beyond the break one needs. However, the dishes are good, certainly fresh, and the cost is absolutely proportionate.

Unfriendly staff. Too expensive

Lunch taken today at Bistro Kloster, Small card but still tempting. Waiting 40 minutes to be served, staff who seem to be disturbing. Once the dishes arrive, although they are tasty, they do not justify their price at all, the portion is too small for a meal.

A tasteful place in every respect.

Had a drink here on a very hot day. The drinks came quickly! They do not have a toilet themselves, but around the corner you can use a public toilet.

Delicious food, but very poor and completely unmotivated service. The portions are quite small, the drinks and the salad we ordered were forgotten. When asked, the salad was already packed away. A pity!

A pleasant place just outside of the UNESCO site St Gallen’s abbey library. I was happy with the food.

I actually think the focacceria is really cool and has a great concept. But I have been disappointed several times in the monastery bistro, which is really a shame.

Now for the third time in a row, poor service and unmotivated staff. You don't feel valued as a guest. And gastro business is people business. The prices could be justified by the beautiful location and competent/friendly staff. Unfortunately, the only thing that counts is the beautiful location. The plates are almost thrown at the table, and when you ask politely whether you can physically have the card, you get a “Why?” Unfortunately, it's a real shame, because if the staff here were properly trained so that not only their performance would be increased, but also a certain spirit could be created, it would be a great bistro. But here it seems as if human resources management has already nipped this opportunity in the bud. (The main thing is that personnel costs are/remain below 40%) Anyone who has a hotel management degree and has to look at something like this will find this very disappointing.

The monastery bistro is small, fine and cozy. The food is very good - today I ate the lasagna.

Very slow service - we waited 15 minutes for the drinks after ordering. There were three employed in service. We asked twice if we could pay, waited 20 minutes and then went to the counter because it was taking too long. The drinks were good. The bistro is very sweetly decorated.

Great place! I stayed here for a couple hours, enjoyed hot chocolate, chai latte and tasted some delicious chocolate cake, best I had in a while. The staff is friendly, the place is cosy and the prices are honest. Worth passing by, and trying one of the many sorts of cakes!

Well-organized and nice team. Courteous, fast service, small but very selected menu, wonderfully furnished terrace. We recommend.

Quaint cafe by the cathedral and old library serving good food, wine and coffee. I’m addition to their menu, they have various daily specials which come with a side of salad. I had the pork ragù daily special which was nice and reasonably priced (about 20€). Their wine list also seems good too although I try it.

Very cozy café indoors and outdoors with high quality offerings. My oat cappuccino, muesli and croissants were great - I'm looking forward to the next time!

Just behind the garden of the abbey library you find this small bistro in a beautiful and very cozy corner. They have homemade sweets, sandwiches and quiches, all exquisite. A very quiet place and the staff very friendly although they are a little slow in service, so you have to go slowly.
