Koivu Café in Rapperswil-Jona

We ordered 3 coffees. “Golden coffee” with turmeric was particularly delicious. The dessert also had a funny name. The service was great.

I've never been to such a fine bakery! The selection of gluten- or lactose-free options is particularly impressive. Definitely worth a visit! Especially the breakfast.

On Saturday afternoon we were lucky that a spot just became available. We didn't know the café before and therefore didn't know what to expect. But we left some time later with a smile after fortifying ourselves with cinnamon cheesecake and cinnamon latte - simply delicious! The selection would have offered a lot more, including hearty pierogies - but we were "full of pasta" and will have to come back another time. 😀

As a half-Finnish person, I know Finnish cuisine very well. I missed a lot of Finnish dishes. That's why I only took a "Finnish" cinnamon roll to test. (Unfortunately there was no cardamom in it, which is part of every cinnamon roll in Finland, so it was just a Stnadrat cinnamon roll) Instead of Finnish pierogies, it has Polish ones...why? + Finnish beer + Nice service + Warmly agreed + Prices ok + Centrally in Rapperswil - Doesn't really have much to do with Finnish cuisine (which is my biggest criticism if you claim to be Finnish coffee)

The staff can be nice and recognise regular customers and go the extra mile or... Be rude-ish. If you plan on going during a rush, make sure to make a reservation. I've had various experiences with the Koivu Café, can definitely recommend their brunch (very reasonable price for the offer). The cakes are great, but too sugary for my taste. The salty options (pierogi and focaccia rolls) often too salty or eggy or both. Also they offer the Polish kind of pierogi despite being a Finnish inspired coffee place.

My father was there for a coffee. My sister and I followed. When the waitress came to us, we said that we would like to take a quick look at the menu. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't come to us anymore. Unfortunately, when my father wanted to pay, this didn't work straight away. However, there was a lot going on and the wait staff was really busy. That's why we weren't mad. Otherwise a really nice cafe. A big plus point for my father was that he could pay cash in euros at a very fair rate. For that reason alone he will now stop by for coffee or a beer every time we are in Rapperswil. Next time my sister and I will try to order something and give it a second chance :)

This place was jumping on December 28, totally unexpected! Service was a bit slow - and she forgot my OJ - as they too were surprised by the onslaught. Delicious pancakes and coffee. The only truly annoying thing was the amount of HUGE strollers being crammed into the place, even blocking exits. Parents with kids in tow are clearly king.

Very fine homemade cakes. Fine coffees. Ambience very nice. However, one star is deducted because the tables are much too big and you then “have to” share the table with strangers. Which, depending on the topic of conversation, is not ideal or desired. In addition, it is extremely drafty when the outside door opens, despite the curtain. Needs to be optimized.

If you want to eat one of the best lemon pie I've ever had with an excellent cappuccino, I recommend this coffee! And if you are one of those who have a hard time with languages ​​and only speak Spanish, they will take great care of you here! There is a girl named Mica who works here who is very kind and will take great care of you!… I recommend it 100%… that's true… it's not cheap! I ate a salad with chicken, a Coca Cola, a lemon pie and a cappuccino, almost 50 euros! 😅… but if you only have the coffee and the piece of cake it would be almost 14 euros depending on the exchange rate… But hey, is there anything cheap in Switzerland? But it's worth coming! Switzerland is beautiful! 🤪😅

Yesterday afternoon I stopped at Café Koivu with the Rapperswil-Jona seniors' club. After an interesting visit to the Rapperswil City Museum, 30 women and men fortified themselves with coffee, chocolate, tea and various cakes and tarts. I liked the ambience and the service. Recommendation, go there, you will like it too!

The food is okay, but the service is unfortunately a bit at a beginner level. There was only a small amount of Rösti, there wasn't enough salmon and there was only a little bit of creme fraiche. I found that a bit unfortunate

Nice coffee bar in a quite location. The staff if friendly. If you want to sit inside I recommend to make a reservation otherwise you can only sit outside.

We came here on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty busy. The quark cake and cold brew were delicious. I also really liked the interior decoration of this cafe.

This is a wonderful place. I was impressed with the cheerfulness of the staff. They were very friendly and seemed to be enjoying their jobs. The food was also very good, I had rosti with egg and bacon, and it was very good. My friend had scrambled eggs, which were also very tasty. Unfortunately this was such a filling meal that we did not have space for the sweets anymore, because those looked very good. The location was also good, on a lovely square, within walking distance of the boat stop.

Nice restaurant with friendly service. Unfortunately, it has no concept. Today there were 4 ladies in service, and each brought something to everyone, completely uncoordinated. Each part comes separately. Pure chaos with a long waiting time. But as I said, everyone was friendly. And one of the best Capuchino around.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a typical Nordic flair. The desserts are all highly recommended. All the employees are very friendly and accommodating and you get the impression that everyone enjoys working here. The prices are reasonable and justified for the very good quality. We will definitely visit this café again on our next trip to Rapperswil.

Extremely disappointed! We were there for Mother's Day brunch and the buffet has a very small selection and costs a whopping 44.00 CHF, everything that would be good to eat and even drinks cost extra. The ambience isn't bad, but you can hardly hear anyone talking when there are a lot of guests there I have never seen such a bad and expensive buffet Going for a coffee hu will probably be ok.

It's so cozy and the food is so delicious. Finnish specialties, fine salads, delicious cakes and on Sunday a rich buffet for your brunch. The “service” is very friendly and attentive. Can highly recommend it to everyone.

Café Koivu can be found directly on the market square in Rapperswil. It is lovingly furnished with vintage furniture and offers a good selection of home-baked cakes and tarts, very fine Finnish cinnamon rolls, but also hearty dishes such as pierogi. The service there is always very friendly and quick, even when it's busy. The prices for the pierogi are in the normal range at 26 CHF for the large portion and 21 CHF for the small one. The same applies to coffee and cake. A visit is absolutely recommended.
