Very lovely cosy unpretentious place. we arrived to the lovely young lady apologetically informing us e couldn't stay, however when I explained we only wanted dessert with coffee, they were more than obliging. The sweet owners were very patient with our indecision and even brought out the different desserts to show us how they looked. Presentation of everything was great and the atmosphere is so cosy and comfy. Can only recommend.

I guess they must not be in the business to make money as one cannot seat in the many indoor seats as they aren’t available for God knows what reason (I’d bet on laziness). Owner is also condescending.

I usually never rate any restaurants, but felt compelled to give this place a 5 star rating. The host is an elderly woman who is extremely kind, accommodating, and helpful! She translated the entire menu for us in English, and gave recommendations. The food itself was as fresh as food can be! Wish we had found this place sooner! Truly a hidden gem!

This is a wonderful little place and the owner/staff are super friendly. It’s just like being at home and it’s also super cozy! The beer, Gewürzwein, and the cake were all delicious!

The best place in Kandersteg and an absolute must-visit. We had a wonderful evening at Krauterei. The lovely owners, and the sweet cafe dog, Alex, were so welcoming and kind. Everything we ordered was outstanding, but we particularly loved the Gewürzwein recipe from the 18th century and the homemade baked goods. We will be back!

Very nice owners. We stopped in for a quick beer, coffee and cake. A very nice spot. My wife said the homemade chocolate cake was fantastic, and one of the culinary highlights if our trip.

We loved this place. The sandwiches were delicious!!! The space is charming: all wooden, tastefully decorated. And finally, the owners have treated us very kindly. A place we will not forget!!!! Danke schön from Barcelona!!!!

I wish I could leave 10 out of 5 stars for this. If you have done a day of riding, hiking, or swimming stop in for a panini and let yourself relax with a great atmosphere, great taste, and service that rivals family.

Lovely place for a summery drink and a tasty panini in Kandersteg. Very friendly service. Home made ice teas and freshly prepared selection of paninis. Drinks menu has also several interesting non alcoholic creations. Trees providing shade on a warm day. Former hotel Edelweiss. Also a few tables inside and sales of some second hand items.

A wonderful place to stay, whether alone or with friends! Attentive and friendly hospitality and so far everything I have consumed, from panini to Arvenseeli, has been very tasty!! Gladly again and again.

Excellent! The staff, menu, locals were friendly and helpful. The building itself is a treasure. Hopefully they’ll figure a way to keep it from being torn down. Meanwhile it’s open and has a tasty unique menu. Well worth the visit!

Super sweet, small coffee with a Swedish oven and an incredibly homely atmosphere. The Swedish stove burns happily in cold weather. Absolutely nice service with a great coffee/cake selection. An absolute must when visiting Kandersteg ❤️

Pretty old house that is temporarily used as a restaurant. See a well thought-out and attractive restaurant concept with a great range of drinks and food. By the way, the landlady is also very friendly

I recommend this place 100%! It is very quiet! It has a spectacular view The prices are correct. The owners are VERY KIND people! As they can, they communicate with you to explain the dishes and drinks, since the entire menu is in German. What I loved most is that for them every detail counts and the client greatly appreciates that. A smile, a good gesture, they have it all! I had a very good time there and would return without hesitation! 💙💙💙

Do you know that? You open the door and you think that you have just arrived home, not only because the fresh smell of cake and hot chocolate wafts towards you, but also because your loved ones warmly welcome you. You can find all of this - and MUCH more - at this place with the Luchsinger family. The hosts have decorated the interior with love, charm and cosiness and offer homemade cakes/sweets. Here you can simply sit back and relax after a strenuous hike indoors or outdoors. And if you want to take a small material souvenir with you after the get-together, you will definitely find it in the small brocante. Thank you, dear hosts, for creating such a place for us. We would like to come again.

Very friendly and kind service. Delicious chocolate cake with cream - for people who don't like sweet things that much but maybe not the right choice of cake. Chai latte was great - not sweetened, as many cafés unfortunately do. The tea selection is also good. Rather quaint café. Gladly again! The prices are also good for Switzerland!

Very cozy and lovingly furnished cafe, inside and outside. Delicious coffee and great cocktails. The little things to eat made from regional products are also highly recommended.
