For our anniversary we returned here. Nothing to say, every time it's a confirmation. Every dish I try is always super tasty, if I'm not mistaken Apulian chefs. Prices a little higher than a Luigia or so on but it's worth it to eat really well. Also really large portions. The staff is always friendly and everyone greets me every time when I return. The only thing that isn't a problem for me but could be for others is the noise, being very small and so many people, some might get a headache but for example my boyfriend and I get on well, perhaps for elderly people (for example example my grandparents) is not the best. The fact is that it is an absolute stop for Italians and not those who are in Zurich!!

Nice atmosphere and very nice food. I loved the pasta and the home made panna cotta and tiramisu! A bit pricy though unfortunately. Nonetheless the place is very often fully booked. There are not so many tables so better book in advance

Great Italian. Very tasty authentic food. Has its price. But it's worth it. Ambiance very loud and cramped. But it doesn't bother you much. We had a very cozy evening.

Been there with some friends after years. It has lost its touch a bit. Food was not really tasty, lacking the greatness of former days. It wasn’t bad but just not the same anymore.

We had dinner at La Baracca yesterday. Nicely decorated, lots of wine bottles set up. To eat: Salad was good. Pasta with mussels too, the Italian sausage specialty was good so far. But the pizza! I've never eaten such bad pizza! Firstly, there were no ingredients on it, it was lukewarm (they warmed it up again, dough was then burnt in some places) with watery tomato sauce and sloppy dough once cut off from the wide crust. Then I noticed it again, it doesn't have a pizza oven... However, the Italian-speaking waiter then offered me a very fine tiramisu. But other than that, it was extremely loud in the restaurant. The 200.00 isn't worth it. And one drink was too much on the bill. I'll never go there again.

Si delicious! The ambience was super nice and Italian. The food is very delicious. I had an octopus and it was one of the best ones I’ve had. Big portion and accompanied by good potatoes and veggies. Very fair prices and friendly staff.

We had dinner in the restaurant yesterday. The service and the ambience is an absolute disaster. The waiters were extremely overwhelmed, argued among themselves and set up so many tables that you could hardly move or understand each other. The food is delicious but requires a lot of patience. Not worth the money, unfortunately!

The starter was very good (cheese and sausage platter) and plentiful! Possibly you wouldn't have to spread truffle honey everywhere (but detail). For the main course I had risotto (figs, pomegranate seeds, burrata, guanciale and mushrooms). Unfortunately, this didn't score points for me. Unfortunately the taste is pretty disappointing. The taste was heavily overshadowed by the (very Crossen Guanciale). That was a shame for the mushrooms (you can leave them out). The combination with the figs sounded very exciting, unfortunately the risotto was far too bland (for my taste) and had a very one-dimensional taste. The sweet/salty combination is actually very exciting. Due to the sweetness of the figs and the lack of depth of flavor, the risotto was more reminiscent of a rice pan than a successful risotto. I can't speak for the other dishes, they looked very good and (judging by the other reviews) seemed very good too!

Authentic Italian cuisine. The cozze and clams alla Tarantina made me consider moving to Zurich. Great performance guys. I'll be back.

Unfortunately I thought it was a shame, it started well and ended badly! The mood was good at the beginning. Unfortunately, the pizza came to the table very burnt and the other pizzas also tasted burnt. The dessert with soup spoon was something to be desired, chocolate cake with dark chocolate ice cream! Not really suitable, chocolate with chocolate! Even though you contacted service, nothing came... When the main course was ordered, the service was no longer so active/present! I was really looking forward to the restaurant, but was very disappointed!

Fine, authentic Italian cuisine that has its price. Casual atmosphere in the lively District 4.

The antipasti platter is very generous and enough for several people. We ordered tagliatelle with truffle, paccheri with seafood and racks of lamb with vegetables. All menus were authentic, the ingredients were fresh and the service was very friendly. The current menus, lovingly handwritten, were seasonal and an enrichment to the menu. We sat outside, the only drawback was that we were seated right on the sidewalk, but that was because all the seats were completely full!

Do you want great tasting gluten-free pasta? Then look no further! They only offer a spaghetti version but 1) it's hard to find gluten-free anything in Switzerland and 2) when you do find something gluten-free the taste can be like cardboard. Not here. Their "Bologna Mon Amour" is so amazing that it will forever stop me from being vegan. And their cheese and meat platter is so delicious, especially paired with their honey and jams that it's simply one of the best. Last but not least, the service and people there are amazing. So if you only ever eat Italian at once place in Zurich, this should be it.

JUST LOVE IT! In the middle of the center of Zurich, there is a cozy Italian restaurant run by an Italian chef, Massimo. From the starters to the desserts, La Baracca offers many Italian dishes (i.e vitello tonnato, tagliere di salumi etc) but in my opinion the best are "PRIMI". If you go there, try their pasta and you will come back for sure because you will feel to try all of the menu. Note: Huge portion, big variety of Italian wines and a special mention goes to the service: BRAVI RAGAZZI!

Small restaurant in Zurich where you eat very well: Italian cuisine. It feels like you're in Italy when the plate arrives. I recommend. Better to reserve, especially in winter or when the weather is not nice because the restaurant is small. In summer you can eat on a terrace

Typical Italian, great food, loud, and way to bright lighting. The food was delicious but the portions where huge. If you are two people I recommend you share one starter. I love that they could accommodate us and make dishes vegetarian even though they had meat in them on the menu. The only thing I didn’t like is that the staff kept looking down at the floor when they walked through the restaurant to avoid eye contact with people, even though they where not full. It took so long that I had to make intense eye contact with someone so that we could pay our bill. I don’t like it when I have to do that.

Be careful to control the order. We were a big group and just wanted to share some food (pasta/pizza), told the waiter they could choose some sharing dishes. They took advantage and gave us the tasting menu for 86 CHF per person.

A very crowded, cramped and noisy restaurant. The staff is attentive and nice. Unfortunately the mixed salad was boring - even if you offer it you can still make something special out of it. Pizza was also mediocre - the sauce was very raw in taste and had little other seasoning. I've definitely eaten better ones. The pistachio tiramisu was a dream - I would definitely eat/order it again.

The restaurant is very small, table next to table, no real passage and way too loud. You can't have a normal conversation. We made a reservation at 9 p.m. and were only able to sit down about 20 minutes later. We had to wait outside in the cold because there was no bar to at least pass the time. It's a shame because the food was very tasty.

Sooo crowded, they want to make money as much as possible. Too many chairs and no space. You have 1.5 h to eat, than you gotta leave for the next guest. Waiters only speak english, menu is completely in italian, you need google translate to get what you eat. Thanks, but not coming back there. Super greedy, owner is trying to maximize the income by squeezing you in like sardines (maybe an inspection should check the number of guests and fire exit)

The starter is focaccia, which is actually just pizza dough. It's a shame that you can't expect real focaccia in an Italian restaurant. The pizza was very basic. The restaurant has very tight seating and is extremely loud. The service was nice but not attentive.

Unfortunately, Baccheri allora scoglio didn't convince me. The crustaceans were cooked too hard and the tomato sauce had not yet absorbed the taste of the crustaceans. The plate wasn't warm enough, neither was the pasta. It's a shame actually, I would have liked to go back to my youth 30 years ago in southern Italy 😔

Forgot our reservation, meat was undercooked and way too raw. They didn’t even ask us how we would like to have our meat. Too crowded and we were placed right next to another couple. Wine selection is great though.

We went to La Baracca for dinner, the starter was delicious and the pasta was quite good as well. What could be improved is the service and the arrangement of the place. The staff was not very friendly nor welcoming. The entire restaurant is packed - you enter the place and you almost stumble upon a table. It's placed right at the entrance. We were hoping to not sit at that table and luckily we didn't. All the tables are super squeezed in - there is no intimacy whatsoever. When we left, the people sitting next to us had to pull the table towards the other direction so we can take our coats on. The overall experience doesn't justify the almost 200 CHF bill that we paid for a starter, pasta and drinks. While I am rating the place 4 stars as the food was really good, I do not plan on revisiting it.

Unfortunately we were disappointed. Pasta didn't taste like anything, the service was overwhelmed and unfriendly (for example, the main course was served without the starter plates ever being cleared away), and I was presented with a garden chair that had been covered in snow just a few minutes ago. It used to be better...

Very noisy restaurant with tight seating. Long waiting times for food. Unfortunately we let the head waiter persuade us to do a tasting menu for CHF 85. Afterwards he brought a mixed cold cuts/cheese platter as a starter and two small portions of main courses. All in all for an estimated CHF 40 per person, until we told him we were still hungry. He then charged us additionally for the remaining portions without saying anything. In the end it was CHF 105 per person for food (without drinks). This, for three courses in a standard Italian restaurant. We then had to discuss the bill with the chef (the food was delicious, by the way) and with the friendly, hard-working waitress. The head waiter didn't show up anymore, it's a shame that guests are being ripped off like that.

Small place but never disappoints. The price is a little higher than average, but considering how you eat, it's more than justified! Reservation recommended (perhaps mandatory).

Excellent, surprisingly excellent food. The seafood pasta and the truffle / mon amour pasta were divine and so to remember and return. On the downside, prices are voluminous and the service is friendly but slow motion slow.

Simply inadequate! La Baracca used to be my favorite restaurant but now it's just a check-in restaurant. At first they couldn't find my reservation. We were kindly given a table within 20 minutes. A small round garden table next to a fourth table and opposite the same picture. The staff couldn't get past the guests without touching us every time. In order to serve food to the guests at the next table, the staff always had to serve directly over our faces while we were eating. What's more, it's way too loud and you can't understand your own words. The pizza was completely over salted and inedible. Nobody was interested in that either. I can't even eat half of it. The bill also included martinis that we didn't have. As an apology, the waiter said there were two limoncellos on the house. He put it down and says: "But you have to drink it outside, I need the table." Shame on you for treating your guests so poorly.

A wild restaurant, excellent good Italian food in a special atmosphere, people like to linger here. Menus are exclusively in Italian, no compromises here either. 1-2 fine drops in stock, particularly recommended for pasta dishes.

My favorite restaurant in Zurich! I definitely prefer this restaurant to its big brother, San Bevitore. La Baracca has a lot of charm, the food and service are top. If you have to wait for your table, Prosecco and pizza slices will be handed out for free. Where in Switzerland is this available?

We often eat at Santo Bevitore... the food is always great and we have NEVER been disappointed. Today we went to La Baracca for the first time. It is exactly the same. However, we were extremely disappointed here. The starters (mixed salad and smoked mozzarella) were very good. However, the two pastas we ordered were, to put it bluntly, subpar. My husband's pasta was nowhere near al dente, didn't taste like anything, and was also a very small portion. My pasta was also a disaster. The tomato sauce didn't taste like anything, the vongole would have needed a few minutes more heat and my portion wasn't even close to what we're used to from Santo Bevitore. We will definitely never eat here again. Always happy to stay at Santo Bevitore. But La Baracca was a one-time mistake….

There are 2 La Barraca’s in Zurich. The one at Rechtsanwältestrasse 103 is NOT recommended. We had the dish Frutto Di Mare. Seafood was OK, but only 4 pieces of cannelloni on the plate. We went home hungry and in a very bad mood. Very very very disappointing. We definitely won't go here anymore.

Very high price point given the portion size, quality of food, and service. My friends and I came here and they were quite shocked by the lack of attention to detail from the staff. They asked in italian several times to confirm a fish dish was gluten free, it arrived with bread on the plate and the staff didn't apologise. This meant that one of our party had to wait to eat and the remade fish arrived burnt because it had been cooked so quickly and carelessly. I would be unlikely to come here again. Giving this three stars not two because the wine was very good.

A little “dolce vita” in Zurich. Small and lively Italian restaurant. Fast and friendly service and fine food. It's narrow and loud... but you feel like you're in Italy.

This is one of the few restaurants in Zurich where you can eat good, real pizza. Pizza and pasta are sensational. Simple and super quality products. The only flaw is the prices. They make you pay for everything, absolutely everything, for the quality of the food and the products. I don't think I've seen more expensive pizzas even in central Zurich. The place is rather small and quite noisy but certainly pleasant. Very friendly and helpful waiters. It is located in a not very central area, not easy to find but if you want to eat well, look for it. It's worth it. Absolutely recommended!

Food was tasty, but the service could be improved. The food came out randomly, so some of our group had their food while others did not. They forgot to bring an appetiser, and we had to ask for it twice. They forgot to bring our order of water for the table. They did not check up on us to see if we wanted more drinks after bringing us the wine. We had to wait a while to get their attention to get a dessert menu. They didn't end up coming back to take our dessert order, so we just asked for the bill and left. They gave us complimentary limoncello at the end of the dinner, but we had already made up our minds about the place. We will probably not be back due to the subpar service.

Fantastic Italian cuisine. A bit small...but very comfortable.

Once upon a time there was a good Italian... Unfortunately it's no longer the same as it used to be. The two of us had dinner on December 31st, 2021. The service left a lot to be desired, not attentive. The menu left a lot to be desired, and unfortunately so did the food. The Tagliata di Manzo was too well done and therefore like rubber, and they didn't ask how you wanted it done. Tagliata Tonno Vietnam had too much poppy seeds on it, which wasn't good in terms of taste. Vegetables were carelessly arranged on the plate and unfortunately didn't taste particularly good except for a lot of rosemary. The Cozze were not cleaned properly. When I said at the end that the meat wasn't good for a whopping 47.50 CHF, there wasn't much in return, you could at least greet the guest with a coffee. Conclusion, we will no longer visit this restaurant and unfortunately we will no longer recommend it.

I ate at this restaurant once three years ago and it was great! I dreamed of once again finding the opportunity to enjoy fresh, passionate, aromatic Italian cuisine... What did I experience this time?.... The seafood plate, which mostly consisted of bread and potatoes, five smelly mussels and rubbery polpo that you couldn't even cut with a knife. The main courses with dry fish and strange sauces that are tolerable in a cafeteria. Even the classic tiramisu was lacking in taste and enjoyment... Such a disappointment! But I am grateful for this experience because I can put this restaurant on a black list with a clear conscience.
