La Clémence in Genève

Very Authentic and Chilled... Just don't be in a rush...!

We just stopped for a cup of coffee. We sat down in the café because, on the one hand, there was no room on the terrace and, on the other hand, it was too cold for us. However, the café - which only offers a limited number of seats - was empty. But we were able to watch the 3 girls running the place. With a lot of commitment and joy, they tapped coffee, beer and cocktails for their guests, served them and finally distributed them with a smile. If we end up in Geneva again, we will definitely stop by a second time. If this is summer, then we hope for a place on the terrace.

An excellent café-restaurant, in one of the most pleasant areas of Geneva. The welcome and service are impeccable. The dish of the day (a pot-au-feu) was succulent and frankly affordable for a dish of this quality in Geneva. I recommend !

Great location and cool outside terrace....

The café-restaurant which is my favorite in the old town, with the option to sit outside and watch the people go by, or go inside to enjoy the warm and welcoming old pub atmosphere. They will serve you with courtesy; the speed depends on the number of customers, which can be very large, but they still do their best. Absolutely recommended, before saying goodbye to the beautiful and melancholy statue of Clementina (which takes its name from Clémence).

Ineffective service. Order forgotten.

Very charming and “authentic” feeling place. The clientele is a mixture between tourists and regulars. It has lovely cozy atmosphere but the food is absolutely awful - the sandwiches or whatever that was were the worst in my life. In my country these will not be found in a nice place, but in a two euros for everything local pub. The staff was exceptionally pushy. The only reason is not a low score is the cozy vibe.

The staff is very welcoming and pleasant, their paninis are excellent and I don't regret going to this café regularly, I highly recommend it!!!

Great place for a beer and a natter after work. Seems full of locals, students, etc. Service was fantastic, very fast and attentive, and we enjoyed a Charcuterie board as well. Very casual, in a Genevan kind of way.

The lunch here is superb. We were on a 3 day stay in Geneva and sat here for lunch, not expecting to eat some of the best food on the trip! We got the chicken pasta (dish of the day) and the dish with shredded duck with Foie Gras sauce. It was so good, that we tried to go back for dinner on our last day, but unfortunately this place does not serve dinner. The Atmosphere is probably fine if you are ok with cigarette smoke. lots and lots of the patrons smoke and the square is misty. I didn't appreciate it, but the food was absolutely worth it! USA visitors should definitely go. I haven't had food this good even in LA (my hometown) it's very close to the lake & and 2 minutes walk from the ST. Pierre cathedral.

All the charm of times gone by has been lost. Between 2002 and 2010 it was really great...in every way The service, the prices....and tartare for 2 weeks on the daily menu. In short...I go there less and less

Do not move the chairs, otherwise you will be asked nicely to leave.

We would have liked to have the opportunity to try this coffee, but a waiter in a terrible mood decided otherwise. Without doubt the worst customer service I have had the opportunity to experience.

The waiter told us to leave after we moved two chairs. Very disagreeable.

Nice terrace for a break in the old town

Satisfactory white beer at 10.- pei Expresso Martini for 15.- which only goes by the name... soluble coffee? Where are the coffee beans in decoration? In short, I asked to change cocktails at the first sip.

I liked this little place, top of the hill in Geneva city centre. Inside was very French.

Welcome to the best of the staff who take great care of you. The tuna tataki is delicious. Also melon soup is an amazing dessert that will please many people. I recommend.

Being in Geneva during the heatwave, I recommend this restaurant. The waitresses pay very close attention to the customers' needs. The dishes were fresh and delicious.

On a quick trip to Geneva at the bend of a street after visiting the cathedral, we chose this establishment based on the menu. Very good burrata tomato and beef tortilla salad, original dish! Amazing strawberry melon soup. Tourist atmosphere, top staff, very attentive to customers, very friendly especially the young girl who came from Nîmes. Prices are consistent with the city. The place is very nice but this is broken by the character of the waiters which is vile. Obliged to consume even if there are 20 of us and only one person does not consume. They kick us out of the tables if we don't eat again and the prices are way too high.

unacceptable!! poor service!! the waiter fired us in a very violent and humiliating manner for having moved a parasol to add customers!!!! we were called, I quote, “young student” with “loust” and “make yourself at home”!! to conclude this establishment is not a place to have a good time and the service and very poorly presented in addition to the prices abberament high

Lovely wee square, about half a dozen hospitality places in very close proximity. We stopped here as that had a beer that we liked and it was slightly cheaper than some of the others. Lots of outside seating and as we sat outside on a sunny day in May, needless to say it was like a cattle market. Staff were quick to notice you and efficient. Good place to chill out after doing the sight seeing musts which are near by, and watch the world go by.

Fast service. A must-see place in the old town!!

The staff is very disrespectful - they threw undamaged food in the trash due to miscommunication between themselves, and they didn't apologize and even had the nerve to convince us it was our fault . I will never return to this establishment.

Badly received, unpleasant waiter who doesn't give us change and therefore steals 10.-, he cashes us before we receive our orders unlike the other customers, croc gentleman not good too burnt out… I don't recommend this place to anyone, rather young than come here.

Very pretty place at first sight, but then as far as the welcome is concerned it’s rubbish! the waiters express a folkloric attitude, I had never experienced this before. I do not recommend this place.

We stopped for a drink at La Clémence last Saturday late morning. The waitress kindly introduced us to the region's craft beers, thank you very much Morgane for your welcome, your professionalism, And above all, keep that smile! We will definitely come back to taste the beers we still have to discover 👍

Glad I made it there for late lunch at 2:35pm as they stop serving food at 3pm. Even though I made it there already quite late for their food service but the waitress was patience and proper to tell me about their special "Tuna Tartare", which I didn't order 😅. I ended up order the "Croque La Clémence" served on a refreshing salad bed, great taste and great portion for lunch.

Ideally located, the terrace is, without a doubt, the major asset of this place. Very pleasant to enjoy the sun, especially the small left side corner facing the establishment. On the other hand, and what a shame, a service that does not follow.

Cafe bar located on the pretty Place du Bourg-de-Four. Above all, it is worth it because it is a quiet place, without car traffic, for its location and its outdoor terrace. On good, sunny days it is a pleasure to have breakfast or eat there😍😍. The place is small but has a large terrace in the square. The food menu is quite small and the prices are somewhat high compared to the quality, but it's okay, it was delicious. The service was somewhat slow but correct and friendly. I love that they accept pets🐕.

Have you ever wondered what the mass of an electromagnetic wave is? It's 0 0 is precisely the rating I would have liked to give this establishment. Unfortunately Google does not allow this. I did try to find a positive point to justify this single star but between the unpleasant waiters, the exorbitant prices and the quality of the food I really couldn't find it.

No so honest waiters. Was there with a friend for a bit, when we asked for the bill the waiter just said its 80frs, paid him and gave him a pretty big tip, 20frs. We didn't leave right away. So my Friend ordered a couple of more drinks. When she asked for the bill for these, it was a different waiter came and said it was 115frs or so... um for two drinks? He said no all of them. We tried to explain that we had already paid, but didn't find the proof back at the cashier, and we never got our first ticket to show... so be careful and ALWAYS ask for a receipt when paying cash at that place.

At first glance, a very pretty terrace very well located in the old town. However, the service needs to be reviewed as well as the behavior of the servers. The way the waiters speak is catastrophic, they “set rules” for ordering. Obligation for ALL people seated to order at the SAME TIME. I left before even ordering. At the end the waiter kisses my hand, a provocative act!!! I advise against !

The outdoor seating was crowded with many people. Rather, there was a seat inside. A lot of people went together, and the waiter's order memory was very good.

We were having something inside and the waitresses were very noisy, one of them, the blonde, was drunk, I asked her to turn the music down and she turned it up even more, as if it were a nightclub or a pub. Anyway, I expected more kindness. Good coffee, bad treatment.

A classic coffee shop in the center of Geneva, on the hillside squares with other businesses. My favorite cigar smoked great here. In addition, café noisette, roasted chestnuts...it didn't even matter that it was so cold.

Slow service and a place packed to the brim... Located in the heart of Geneva, in an easy-to-reach location. It's a place where you can have a pleasant time if you order the right things.

Very good place to enjoy the morning sun. The breakfasts on the terrace are generous and very good.

One star for the draft beer which was ok. On the other hand, you should absolutely avoid cocktails, when you see the prices you might be tempted compared to the prices you normally find in Geneva but you can see in the photo what a caipirinha looks like... And on top of that the mixture was a failure...
