La Fontana Ristorante & Bar in Locarno

Tried to get breakfast advertised from 9:am got there at 10:15 to find it closed. Was very disappointed we'd decided to go to breakfast to start my wife's 70th birthday off.

The food is delicious and the staff is really friendly! I recommend this restaurant ❣️💯💯

Long overdue visit back to La Fontana this evening. Always a warm welcome when you walk through the door. Food is excellent, cooked to a very high standard, I had the baked stuffed mushrooms and the la diavola pizza, requested extra green peppers which were duly added. Pizza base is lovely and thin with generous toppings on top. Great menu choice for starters, mains and deserts along with a superb drinks menu Highly recommended.

Excellent place, worth experiencing their food, which is great. It's a bit pricey, the atmosphere is excellent, and there is ample space in the restaurant.

We take our young daughter to eat here frequently. The staff are outstanding, so kind and welcoming and very attentive. It’s a great location with some lovely window seats. The food is good as well, we’ve never had a bad meal in countless visits. Prices are really good, in line with the food. We love coming here, you always see someone you know as well, so it has a real local feel. Go for it, you won’t be disappointed!

Unfortunately don’t stay just because the floor and tables were dirty. Didn’t give me confidence to want to eat there. It was not busy and lots of staff. Seemed strange that no one would consider sweeping the food off the floor or wipe down the menus.

Amazing food went in the morning had a lovely breakfast the gentleman at the bar was very friendly and made the best coffee I'm looking forward to making this my regular restaurant

The full english breakfast was good quality, and the service was excellent, as they even went out for cinnamon for my request to sprinkle on top of cappuccino. The restaurant was quiet, which was good for us, but the atmosphere was not fair to judge. Would expect to visit again and recommend.

Had my son's 'stag do' breakfast here and I have to say that the whole experience was fantastic right from the 'welcome in' to the 'thank you' as we left.

I'm always treated like a famous guest or something! Love it here. Oh, and the chorizo - mmmmmm!!! xx

Incredibly friendly staff, great atmosphere and phenomenal food! Honestly could not fault a thing, had an amazing dinner and will definitely be back.

Service was OK, I didn't enjoy the food, overpriced burger, I pay less at monkey lounge and enjoyed it more. Might try it again to see if it was just an off day.

Great place for brunch, the English breakfast was plentiful. I had the poached eggs on toast, they were lovely fresh eggs, poached to perfection☺️Been here twice now when we have visited Twyford and would definitely go back again - shame we live so far away ☹️

Would have got 4 stars but I hate service charges added to bills tips should not be added and paid by choice. Meatballs were nice the other people had penny with chicken it was nothing special so it was a lot of money for a bit of pasta.

Enjoyed a very pleasant Sunday roast dinner of gammon and turkey with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, green beans, carrots and parsnips with gravy. Delicious and excellent value and service to celebrate my sister and brother-in-law's 51st wedding anniversary. Recommend.

I got some takeaway pizzas and I was really disappointed. I wouldn't call them pizzas. The dough was chewy and the ingredients were poor quality. Customer service was good.

Always a fantastic time. Staff are welcoming and warm, and the La Fontana Pilsner is a great choice of beer. Small issue with the spinach on the Prima (I think) pizza being rather soggy, but everything else was spot on.

We love la fontana and have been going for years. The staff and owner are always very friendly and the food is so fresh. I even have them make an off the menu pizza as I like it extra spicy. Definitely recommend.

Lovely food and service, one of our favourites in twyford

Friendly staff but sadly overpriced and food was not good. Steak was only ok and boiled potatoes were soggy, overcooked.

Food bland but plenty of it staff plesent

Had takeaway last night, which was good in parts and bad in others. my Chicken pasta was great, but the side of chilli potato taspas was awful basically old warmed up potatoes in a sort of tomato slop with a few peppers... I have had this dish before and it has been lovely , the potatoes wore fried and crispy and the sauce was great.. last night was not a patch on this. Also ordered a butterflied chicken dish sadly this leaked out of the container.. it came with some fresh veg that were overcooked . Have to say the chips were good.. and the whole thing was very hot.. maybe I was just unlucky with the tappas....

Fanstastic food, great service and value for money. We have loved coming here since we moved several years ago and is a family favourite in the village.

One of the best in Twyford! We came here during the week for a meal out. The staff were extremely friendly and greeted us when we walked in. The selection of food is incredible. The food itself came out quickly and tasted amazing. The choice of drinks, especially wine, was great. Highly recommended place to visit for a meal.

Nous avons dîné en famille fin mai à la terrasse du restaurant et nous avons été ravis de l'accueil très sympathique, du service très attentionné et de la cuisine raffinée du restaurant FONTANA. Les conseils du manager M. D'EZIO en matière de vin et d'harmonie des plats étaient très judicieux. La carte des vins était très fournie et les prix tout compte fait raisonnables pour un établissement suisse de cette classe. Les serveurs et serveuses nous ont entouré et servi très efficacement sans le moindre accroc.

I ate twice there. I loved it all. The antipasti were world class and very creative. Excellent combinations of taste, textures and temoerature.

Le personnel est au petit soin et très aimable du début à la fin du repas.Les assiettes sont soignées et délicieuses, on y découvre agréablement des saveurs et des associations.Diverses propositions pour les végétariens. J'ai dîné 3 soirs de suite et à chaque fois j'ai pris les assiettes végétariennes... je conseille la tarte tatin à l'aubergine avec son fromage de chèvre

Feines, ausgewogenes Menü. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für die Halbpension ist in Ordnung. Die Weinkarte ist exzellent.

Die Karte ist etwas speziell, darum habe ich nur 2x hier gegessen. Aber die Raviolini und das Pistazien Törtchen waren göttlich. Und das Personal sehr nett, an meinem Geburtstag wurde ich noch mit einem Schoggitörtli Verwöhnt :o)

Einfach alles war perfekt. Sehr nette und freundliche Bedienung... Das Essen war ein Traum. Trotz Corona gab es keine Probleme. Alles war sehr gut organisiert. Die Lage des Hotels passt. Schnell zu Fuss in Locarno un auch ein Ausgangspunkt zum wandern.

Die Auswahl des Essens war sehr vielfältig und regional. Ich war im Hotel Belvedere mit Halbpension und konnte so jeweils ein köstliches Abendessen im La Fontana geniessen. Nebst einem Fleisch- oder Fisch-Menu im Hauptgang gab es jeweils auch ein kreatives Vegi-Menu. Das Essen war jeweils sehr schön angerichtet und schmeckte vorzüglich. Das Personal ist sehr serviceorientiert. Man wird schon beim Eintreten sehr freundlich begrüsst und zum Tisch geführt und auch beim weiteren Service fehlt es an nichts.

Alles super 👍, Bedienung sehr freundlich und schnell. Super Frühstücks buffet. Essen auch super 👍 , sehr empfehlenswert.

Sono andata per il brunch con un'amica. Accoglienza calorosa, i camerieri ci hanno accompagnate al tavolo e spiegato nei dettagli il buffet. Molto ben presentato, tantissima scelta e tutto delizioso! Il prezzo è davvero ragionevole. La terrazza è stupenda e consiglio andare a prendere il caffé fuori. Il posteggio è gratuito. Grazie a tutto il personale che si è occupato di noi! :) Consiglio vivamente!
