La Marmotte in Samnaun

A nice restaurant in itself. Unfortunately, prices are far too high and the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. The staff responsible for clearing the tables should be better trained. He placed the full tray firmly on my ski helmet and didn't apologize when I told him I didn't approve of it! Zero reaction! Such behavior is not acceptable at all.

Extremely unfriendly staff, especially the lady behind the drinks bar inside. Schiwasser is served with carbon dioxide without asking, but if I ask without it, it is only possible if I pay for another one. I would take a hut further...

Absolutely disgusting convenience food at pretty overpriced prices, the handling at peak times is also a joke, especially when it comes to drinks, unfortunately I haven't experienced any friendly staff there either, the ambience is okay but not really comfortable either

The price/quality ratio is not satisfactory.

It was good to have a coffee there in between meals. Everything else is expensive as usual at the hut.

Vegetarian rösti, fries and coffee were very tasty, the Kaiserschmarrn was okay (prepared thick pancakes that were warmed with plenty of clarified butter). There are some vegetarian main courses - great! We were surprised that the kitchen was already closed at 3:30 p.m. The service is okay. The ambience is typical of large bars in the ski area - not bad, but not rustic either. The prices are high - especially for drinks (large ski water €6.50). But that's the case everywhere in the ski area.

Great restaurant with a lot of choice (everything from pizza to fries and Asian dishes...). Ketchup and mayo are also free here :), which cost 80 cents each in Austria. The portions are usually large... The only thing that is annoying is that the restaurant is open until 4:30 p.m., but no food or drinks are offered at this time.

Bad service and boring food, among the worst restaurants in Ischgl

Nice atmosphere and good location. Have to say though, the carbonara I ate for 17!!?? euro, made with half a bacon and a store-bought cheese sauce, may be the most tasteless meal I've had in my life. If you really feel like a carbonara, I can recommend you to opt out of the sauce, only pasta and bacon will probably taste as much as my meal.

You order food. Get it and then realise you have to wait 15 minutes for your drinks. After that your food is cold and you cant find a place to sit. Not very effecient way of doing things. Shame on them.

The Kaiserschmarrn consisted of 80% only fat and oil. So food wasn't particularly tasty. The prices are really completely overpriced. (Cola 0.3 €5.80)😵☹️🤦‍♂️

Visited with children, who wanted to eat chips - no other reason. I didn't give full star evaluation just for the reason, i do not like crowded places. I can't say anything for quality, which was good ( but what to do bad with chips,..), or staff ( which I met just once and all of them were fine).

Good system with payment via the ski card. Very tasty Rösti! However, yeast dumplings only a 6/10.

We ate Kässpätzle (CHF 18 per portion). Unfortunately, it was completely overcooked and soft and inedible. The restaurant can only be entered with a ski pass and depending on where you want to sit, you pay straight away and can then take a seat outside or you can stay inside - totally strange and definitely a lot of fun with exhausted children!!!

We stopped here for lunch. There are benches and tables outside for eating. You can take drinks outside with you. We drank a Flying Hirsch and an Aperol. The bartender was not very communicative. My Aperol was too weak for me, when I complained about this he refilled the Aperol. He didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about my request. The prices are typically high in Ischgl. Payment is in francs.

The quality of the food is bad, the service is unpleasant. Every single consumption is recorded on your ski pass. Even if you have already paid, they check your ski pass again when you leave the restaurant. Overall this is a very unpleasant place.

Cordon bleu with fries was disgusting and a disgrace for €22.50. The currywurst with fries over €16! Never again. We are lured to Ischgl with culinary food and then we get a cordon bleu from the deep fryer! There was no service. Was self-service. Ambiance was okay.

Entry to the Alp Trida restaurant is based on a ski pass. You don't have, you don't enter. You buy food/drink, when you leave the area, your ski pass is scanned. When you leave the restaurant, your ski pass is scanned and then you pay. Attention, Alp Trida is in Switzerland which is not a state in the Schengen area, mobile data is very expensive. Mobile data should be turned off while in Austria at Idalp. I was here on 01.12.2023, I had mobile data on, I didn't talk, I didn't launch any application, I paid 7.5 euros extra for my subscription to Vodafone for a few gigabytes of internet used.

First of all, the positive, the food tasted good, otherwise the place is at best mediocre, which isn't enough given the prices. The cheese spaetzle came from the drawer and while I understand that you can't make everything fresh, I didn't find it very appetizing. The payment system is somehow good, but the fact that you can't find a place and put your ski gear down is clumsy at best. The furnishings used to be modern, but at least the toilets are at ground level.

The food in the self-service area is really good.

I haven't been there for sooooo long. What can I say, I like the concept of booking onto the ski pass. That's one thing. The other and important thing is the fact that the food is freshly prepared and is so delicious. This is far above what is otherwise served in the huts. With one word Excellent

A great, often very crowded place offering tasty dishes at reasonable prices considering the location. Nearby you have an alternative with rock music and similar, slightly more expensive dishes. Please remember that you are close to Switzerland and your phone will log in to some operator of this country, and this costs money! Set up your connections manually in Austria. I recommend it 👍

The restaurant is really big and beautiful, with an incredible panorama over the Swiss Alps towards Italy and the Samnauer Valley. The restaurant is at the mountain cable station and can be reached in two minutes on foot. If you sit on the large terrace, you can see chamois or marmots, like us. The food was so-so. My dumpling soup was sour. This means the soup is a little older and has become sour. The dumpling was very tasty. My complaint was immediately taken seriously and we received a grappa. That was really fair. Otherwise it is really very nice here and recommended.

Expired mayonnaise from October 2021 - served in April 2023... Gray and smelled accordingly... Just no thanks for the price. Pizza was fresh though...

The new operating concept is terrible. Queuing… everyone is jostling. Service doesn't look. It's a shame, it used to be a good restaurant.

The food is good (2 stars for that) but the payment system is really dramatic when it is busy. It all takes a very long time. Too few staff, the workload is high. No wonder they are all grumpy and not very nice to the customers.

The employee grumbles at us because we (like everyone else) don't understand the payment system. Okay for a drink, for more, I'd rather go to another hut.

Update: There is now no EC card fee, but the employees are now very unfriendly and have an idiotic card system. Intended to shorten waiting times, it now leads to waiting times for drinks etc. because you can no longer take anything, but every drink and dish has to be booked on the ski card. Old review: EC card rip-off (refers to the self-service restaurant under La Marmotte) The food and the service are good, you pay when you go out, we get 19.20 and actually have to pay 1.50 (or was 1.25) EC card fee because it's under 20. Mind you, not for a credit card but for EC card use. This is simply outrageous.

Employees are all extremely annoyed because visitors don't check the idiotic system with the ski pass. 15€ for far-dry Bernese sausages (because they've been kept warm for ages) with a small portion of fries is also rather cheeky. The goulash soup was also much better at the other huts.

Food was okay, value for money for a restaurant in a Swiss ski resort was quite good.

Once my favorite place, today it's a disaster. The service at Heavens Door taps adventurously, hygienically and practically. A 0.5 wheat glass was clamped into a "glass holder", the tap was turned on and left to run. The food from the main building is better at the very last German motorway service station. I've never had anything so disgusting. Is this due to a shortage of skilled workers? In any case, I won't go there anymore. My tip, Pardorama, top floor. Oh yeah, the music used to be better too

The payment system may be a little confusing at first. But it's actually quite practical. You can only get into the self-service restaurant with a valid ski pass. There you can find the usual dishes on flat screens. There are 5 or 6 stations (pizza, drinks, savory, soups...). There's probably something for everyone. After ordering, you simply hold your ski pass to the sensor. The fries are very good (enough salted :), the schnitzel is good, the currywurst is tasty but not warm enough, pizzas are recommended (they are freshly made and baked in the oven), Kaiserschmarrn is also wonderful! If you order a BIG Coke you get 4dl for 6Fr and a few crushed ones. Great price. If you order a small Schorrle, a 2dl glass will be served. There is no thirst quenched. The seating is new but has a bit of a rustic style, so you could certainly have chosen something more trendy. In the red area the temperature is normal and it has a kind of fireplace. In the green area the sun shines beautifully through the windows. You can warm up nicely there. After eating you come to the payment process. Even if you have only loaded one ski ticket with food and drinks, you still need to have all family members' tickets scanned. Which is understandable, because otherwise you could steal. But it's tedious to fumble the card out of the child's sleeve every time. Outside there is a large and sunny terrace. Splendid. But we've never been here when it was full. I can imagine that it can get quite tight here. There is a full-service restaurant on the upper floor. I can't provide any information about this.

I ate the spaetzle here today for €19.50. The first mistake was believing that these were special and the second was paying for this dish. No taste, very small portion and just a huge disappointment. It's better to stop by another alpine hut.

One star for the effort. Bad service and a waiter who asked for the tip himself. Really not possible. I have to cry. Cheese fondue for €32.00 is really not possible. Cryon cryon cryon😪😓 dont go!!!!!

It's surprisingly good in terms of food, drinks and service speed (though I admit service is a bit grumpy) - soups are great, rösti are good, and probably best (or at least best-served) kaiserschmarrn I ever had. The ski-pass system is both convenient and odd though, and cutlery locations are inconvenient. That's no big deal though.

Beautifully located hut with self-service area. The food tastes good and the prices are still OK for Swiss standards. In the self-service area, everything is booked onto the ski card and billed at the checkout.

Neat and tidy! Toilets could be cleaned more regularly but otherwise everything is fine 👌🏼

16.12.22 9:30 wanted to buy 2 coffee, restaurant send me to the bar, bar send me to the restaurant. Got no coffee.

Went there for dinner twice. The spagetti aglio were freshly prepared in the wok and I was asked if I wanted it spicy. The pizza should have been baked a little longer. The soups were very tasty across the board. The staff was also friendly. I'm okay with paying for it with the ski pass,

Upstairs in the full-service restaurant Marmotte you can get the best gnocchi in the world. We are regulars and always come back for these excellent gnocchi.

Rude staff, always rolling their eyes. A portion of spaghetti was placed from an unhygienic drawer with my bare hand into a cloudy water bath: it tasted absolutely terrible. Long waiting, rude staff, unhygienic preparation and complicated handling of the ski pass. In addition, the toilets were uncleaned, some didn't flush and there was no toilet paper anywhere. Next time we'll stay hungry.

First off, you cant enter or order unless you have a ski pass. This is a very questionable decision by the hut. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal but that could've been caused by me being to early. The food was delicious and fairly priced for Switzerland. They also have WiFi and play nice music on the large sunny terrace. Overall, worth the visit.

The best Kaiserschmarrn far and wide! Oh yes, and smokers buy a carton of cigarettes in duty free for just under €43. For experienced skiers, the steep slope opposite is a must! Just perfect.

We were in the serviced part of the restaurant and the food was excellent. The dishes were also beautifully decorated for the eye.

The La Marmotte restaurant in the upper area of ​​the Alp Trida Hütte offers very good service and a wide range of different dishes. The prices and portions match well. Except for the “Capuns”. Here you can get just two Capuns for a whopping 21.00 CHF!!

It was easy to find a table. This is a self-service restaurant and the experience inside wasn't great, no proper queue to get drinks and the barman kept serving newcomers though I was waiting there for 15 minutes. But in the end, the food was good.

Well organized ordering and payment system. You can order and, after receiving your food, sit down directly without queuing at a cash register. Dinner was around 10:30 and the entire hot kitchen was open. Toilets were clean and on the same floor (no need to walk up stairs with ski boots). Window space by the “fireplace” with a view of the slopes was comfortable.

The alp is located in a valley and has a very beautiful and spacious sun terrace. The self-service system is well organized - food is ordered, handed out immediately and everything is booked onto the ski pass, so that processing at the checkouts is relatively quick. But you have to wait a relatively long time for pizza compared to the other dishes. Generally good value for money.

By far the best restaurant you can find in the area. Everything is absolutely top class. We were able to enjoy the following dishes during our visit: Rösti with Bratwurst (Bratwurst fried to perfection) Pizza Margarita (absolutely awesome, beautifully garnished with a fresh basil leaf) and last but not least, the fresh homemade garlic cream soup that you can enjoy even hours after eating. Conclusion: A perfect culinary delight from A to Z!

A pure filling station. Go in, queue, order, wait, order again (although already booked on the ski pass), wait, receive 2 cold dishes, queue in Blockbuster... Organization: school grade unsatisfactory, nobody knows whose turn it is or who ordered what. Or when. I'd rather drive on hungry tomorrow.

You should avoid this hut. Employees are slow, payment system with ski pass only causes confusion. Quality of the food is poor. My Kaiserschmarrn was warmed up, but it cost 14 euros.
