La Zagra in Zürich

Terrible attendance!!! I made a last minute reservation and ended up staying a little longer in the lounge at the Mandarin hotel where I was staying with some friends and this LUCA CALLED ME SUPER AGGRESSIVE SAYING SENSE THINGS. An animal's own education is very little professional!

Excellently prepared food. However, pasta was more Swiss-soft than Italian-al dente. Wine was poured gurgling like mineral water in fast food. “What do you want for starters” is asked emphatically several times; No starter is obviously not desired in power selling. Ditto for dessert. Relatively loud and intense, happy ambience.

An experience in itself. You only experience this once in the city. Service, food and atmosphere in the local. You can only experience that here!

The schnitzel with cream is incomparable! I've never eaten anything as good as I did here. You have to experience it to be believed

Unbeatable service and attention from its owner and his staff. I highly recommend it to friends and family. I am left without words to praise this incredible restaurant. Definitely our worst experience in Zurich. The service is poor, rude and unprofessional. Servers are jumping around; sit next to some customers to chat; and speak to each other in an inappropriate manner in front of customers, allowing you to participate in this very awkward show. We encourage you to consume! Three times the waiter asked my husband if he wanted another glass of wine even though his was half full. The same goes for water; we hurry to fill your glasses to encourage you to order another bottle. Regarding the dishes; we are offered the starters of the day; artichoke and mushrooms, let's get started. We receive 2 poor plates with half an artichoke cut into 4 and a small pan of mushrooms; for the modest sum of 29.50 CHF; a shame ! The fish dish will cost you 62 CHF WITHOUT SUPPORT. 2 starters + 2 main courses, 1 glass of wine and a small bottle of water to share will cost you 180 CHF! It's time to stop feeding these kinds of places that are clearly stealing customers. The fatal blow was when my husband asked for bread for the 3rd time and we were brought back a basket with 1 piece of bread! Save your money, don't waste it there; your experience will only be disappointing.

Overrated. While the food is good despite more expensive than other places in Zürich for the same, the service has room for improvements. Events that happened that evening: - 3 waiters for a table of 2 and no context shared with the others - We were clear that we only wanted a glass of wine each but they tried so hard to sell a bottle

Unfortunately, La Zagra did not meet our expectations. The selection of dishes was disappointingly small, as were the portions. The food was greasy and carelessly prepared. In addition, the service was poor and rude. Conclusion: price-performance ratio disproportionate, service poor - the only tasty tiramisu can't do much. Overall, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

La Zagra left a bitter aftertaste without even serving a single morsel. When I called to cancel my reservation a few days ago, their staff showcased a talent for unnecessary rudeness and unfounded accusations rather than appreciation for doing the right thing. Never had a restaurant abuse me for calling to cancel a reservation before. Wouldn't surprise me if they decide to call me for this review and give me more abuse. Skip this place, find a restaurant that respects its patrons.

We had a reservation for lunch during the week. Our two fitters (working clothes) were there about 5 minutes before me and were sent away. Even though there was no Italian at the train station that was cheaper.

Excellent fish in salt and excellent risotto

delicious food, high quality, but pay close attention to the not on the menu items and wine list which is a pure rip-off. sautéed mushrooms starter for CHF 30.-- and majority of the wines for above CHf 400.-- . At least the wine list is transparent, the other items not.

It's pricey but it's also absolutely delicious.

Friendly waiters, quite a small selection of dishes. Very loud so not recommended if you are looking for a cozy dinner for two. Food is good per se but in my opinion the price-performance ratio for the small portion is not the same.

How so many positive reviews come about is a mystery to me. I think the more recent reviews, especially regarding the service, roughly reflect reality. Italian food paired with Zurich arrogance. The staff's absolutely unfriendly arrogance is hard to beat (this is the conclusion after two visits). Food is okay but far from special and doesn't do justice to the price. I was just here to have a little aperitif in the evening light. Actually it wasn't even open yet. In the middle of preparing for dinner, magically friendly service brought me a glass of Prosecco outside, which I drank far too quickly in the first warm rays of spring sunshine. A magical moment.

Everything was super FINE.....but you should question the price of starters that aren't on the menu...I had artichokes...3 pieces for 30.00 Fr. :-[ ...but...but...it's your own fault.

Unfortunately a bad review. The service is subpar, despite ordering a seat there was no menu just a menu. Other guests who came after us got their food a la carte more quickly, we waited 1.5 hours and despite complaining, we were also told off. We had to do the billing ourselves, the waiter wasn't willing to create individual bills. No price on the card. In terms of taste, the food was good (greetings from the kitchen), but I've eaten much better and with cheaper prices and uncounted "peas". An experience.........and unfortunately the worst in Switzerland. No thanks, not again!

We were eating here in a group of 16 people, made reservations by phone and were only able to choose from a menu that had been set for us. The staff was very unfriendly and there were big problems when ordering. We had to wait over an hour for the food and when we asked how long it would take, the answer was poor. Overall the food wasn't bad. When we asked for the bill, we were given a total bill for the 16 people and had to figure out who had to pay how much ourselves. Overall very disappointing, we won't be coming back.

After we had a good meal at La Zagra a few years ago, we returned again with a small group and experienced terribly poor service - it was the most miserable restaurant visit of our lives. First, the average: unimaginative mushrooms for starters, an average osso bucco for the main course. Unfortunately, we quickly lost our desire for dessert and skipped it. The prices are high and are in no way justified by the quality of the dishes. Now to the service: The owner/chef de service pulled the table out from under our noses while we were eating and drinking, reduced it by a unit of two and finally let the six of us sit at a table of four. This was on the grounds that he still needed a table for other guests. Our criticism was followed by an outrageous, aggressive, cheeky and provocative behavior on his part. He kept coming towards us and was clearly looking for a fight. We cannot recommend this restaurant in any way, under this ownership La Zagra's days are numbered.

Worst experience ever! Not very impressed : nice, but average service , average dishes. (3 ⭐️) This was my original review. But I am changing it now for 1 ⭐️, after my husband received a call (4 calls) at 01:00 am. with a rude (with lots of insults and even threats) demand to delete the review, which is totally ridiculous and unacceptable!!! A shame!

Lots of nicely dressed guests, none with any taste or knowledge of good food. You can't buy everything. I've been to la zagra twice; the first and last time. Compared to the best pasta I've eaten, of course in Italy, it's not even average. A pity.

Very nice and fine restaurant in Seefeld in Zurich. Not necessarily cheap, but absolutely top for this quality and culinary art. Very attentive and friendly staff. I can only highly recommend it! A presto!

The best restaurant in the entire canton of Zurich. Luca, Sabrina and their entire team are phenomenal and the location is just a hidden gem. Lovely.

Seen it so many times from the S-Bahn and now I've managed to go. The warm welcome alone puts you on vacation. Good selection on the menu but we were surprised by the host couple. With a fine Sauvignon Blanc, there were sautéed mushrooms and carciofini, then a branzino/sea bass in a salt coating, (probably the best fish I've had at home and abroad) then a tiramisu to share and Sicilian strawberries! Excellent lunch that will make you want to spend the whole day there. If you like eating good fish, definitely visit!

Huge disappointment. I do not recommend this restaurant. Indeed, I went there with my 2 children (7 and 11 years old) and we paid Fr. 160.- for 2 fillets of sea bass (Fr. 36.-/the plate) and cappelletti with cream of parmesan (Fr. 44.- for my 7 year old daughter!!!). 2 bottles of water and 5 fries at Fr. 9.-. In addition to the exorbitant price, the waiters and waitress were not at all friendly.

Vongole are world class...and the perfect Sauvignon Blanc

Very stressed owner, treated us with disrespect because he had lost the receipt of a friend who left early. Eventually we had to prove that she had paid by reaching out to her and asking her for a screenshot of her credit card statement. Totally ridiculous. Never again, there is good food all over Zurich. Ciao Ciao! Not even a grappa or free coffee will make up for treating us the way you did!

We went to this restaurant on Saturday evening. The restaurant is very elegant at the same time welcoming. Excellent welcome also from the dining room staff ready to satisfy every need with a smile. We tasted some small starters, and then we ate the ossobuco and the fillet, everything was cooked with taste and in an Italian style the products were all of high quality. The wine list is simply spectacular!

I know it's not a good idea to write a negative comment about a restaurant during Covid. I grew up on the Gold Coast and was raised with a healthy amount of humility. That's why I know both noble restaurants and good middle-class restaurants in this country. Some time ago I had a Wienerschnitzel for around CHF 35 for lunch at Zagra. In terms of quality and quantity, this schnitzel was a disgrace for any restaurant in Switzerland - that has to be said now. I don't know how you can serve that - under this guise. A kebab shop (unfortunately) makes better schnitzels. Unfortunately, 'haute cuisine' doesn't seem to work here. Price-performance varies widely. Don't go.

Best Italian restaurant in the entire canton of Zurich! Luca and Sabrina, including all the kitchen and service staff, are always friendly and uncomplicated. The quality of the food is fantastic and all dishes are traditionally Italian prepared. The wine selection is excellent. I also like that they attach great importance to seasonal cuisine, for example today we ate artichokes and Sicilian strawberries (the first ones). Bravissimo Ragazzi! Keep it up 👏🏻

There is not much choice of super good restaurants on the right side of Lake Zurich. However, if there is a restaurant that deserves the title of "great restaurant and highly recommended", then it is La Zagra. We always spent a wonderful evening there. Cuisine: The food was a dream, from the "greetings from the kitchen" to the starter, main course and then dessert. Excellent quality, high quality meat, delicious side dishes. The wine list is also impressive, everything was simply great. Service: The sympathy of the hosts Sabrina and Luca put everything in the shade. The service is very friendly and attentive. We were warmly welcomed by Sabrina and Luca. The whole team was very courteous and attentive. The quality of the food was excellent (lentil soup, giant prawns and sea bass fillet). Luca also prepared Crepe Suzette on site for dessert (excellent). I can only recommend.

Das Restaurant bietet schöne Sitzplätze im Aussenbereich und das Essen ist grundsätzlich lecker, wenn auch teilweise etwas ölig (zB. Parmigana). Der Service ist leider zu schwach für ein Restaurant dieser Preisklasse - willkommen fühlten wir uns nicht. Der Service kann aber durchaus freundlich sein, nämlich dann, wenn die Gäste nach viel Geld aussehen - schade, denn bezahlen tun wir alle.

Das Essen ist grundsätzlich gut, wenn auch teilweise etwas zu ölig. Die Bedienung lässt leider zu wünschen übrig und ist zu schwach für ein Restaurant dieser Preisklasse - willkommen haben wir uns nicht wirklich gefühlt. Die Bedienung kann aber durchaus freundlich sein, nämlich dann wenn die Gäste nach Geld aussehen. Schade, denn bezahlen tun wir ja alle.

Haben etwas Take-Away geholt, war sehr lecker!

Wir haben uns richtig gefreut auf das Restaurant. Luca schaute sofort nach einem Tisch. Das Essen war hervorragend. Zuerst Riesencrevetten an Knoblauch und Peperoncini, dann Scaloppine al Limone und einen Sole mit Carciofi und spinacci. Alles in hervorragender Qualität. Da wir bereits um 17:30 da waren und das Essen auch sehr zügig kam, sind wir vor 19:00 bereits wieder weg.Freuen uns bereits aufs nächste Mal.

Das Essen war ok, aber überteuert. Der Service, je nachdem, was für ein Kunde man war, super oder vernachlässigbar - unfreundlich, gereizt -. Die Hälfte im Service trug keine Maske, oder trug sie falsch. Tische sind zu eng. Es wurden zu keinem Zeitpunkt Kontaktdaten erfasst. Corona lässt grüssen.

Sensationell! Bedienung war sehr freundlich, jedoch ein wenig langsam. Die Lage ist super. Empfehlenswert!

Spitzenküche, bezahlbare Weine auf gutem Niveau, sympathisches Personal und top Espresso. Ich persönlich mag ihn etwas kräftiger, aber das ist Geschmacksache. Zu dritt haben wir im Verlauf des Abend 9 Espressi konsumiert, das sagt wohl alles. Und sorry, ich muss das mal wieder loswerden: die Preise für die Kaffeegetränke erlauben es, eine gute Qualität zu offerieren. Das La Zagra macht da vieles genau richtig. Es ist auch eine Wertschätzung des Kunden. Restaurants die Ihren Gästen Vollautomaten Kaffee servieren versuche ich wenn irgendwie möglich zu meiden. Schade, das nicht viel mehr Gäste so denken...
