Le Bánh Mì in Genève

Restaurant to try in the evening, because the food is good. At noon, we are closer to the food truck.

I came to the restaurant for the second time. I went back there for Sarika Sor's evening. Honestly, I'm disappointed. I was expecting something with an Asian theme, rather Vietnamese, but the dishes are not really Asian (for me). I understand that the chef tried to create an Asian taste, but the dishes are still too salty and lack pep and balance. The price is too excessive compared to the quality. So I still prefer the restaurant's original menus. In terms of service, I find that the staff is quite friendly, but not well trained. There was a lady who served us the dishes. She did not put the dish at our table but at the table next to it which was empty. So we have to help ourselves. I have no comments for the rest.

Came to Banh Mi to taste the dishes of chef Sarika Sor for the 2nd service at 9 p.m. When we arrived there, we had to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. We ordered 5 plates: a variation of crunchy raw and tempura vegetables for 22CHF, very small portion and excessive price for raw vegetables that you can buy in supermarkets, temari balls with haddock supposedly with wasabi, sea bream tacos with 2 ends of sea bream that are chasing each other, gyozas of black pudding (the only suitable plate) and lamb tacos that never arrived. The waiting time is excessively long and the waitresses make no apologies for it. Please note that it was not the first day for Sarika Sor so the organization needs to be reviewed. Really disappointed with this concept which could have been interesting. Too bad… this meal did not live up to our expectations

One of my favorite restaurants in Geneva. The place is nicely decorated, the meals are excellent and the staff are very friendly. I recommend !

Excellent dinner at Banh Mi last night, where chef Sarika Sor shone. Ignoring a recent very negative comment, I discovered delicious food from starter to dessert! This kind of unfair criticism risks harming the efforts of these restaurateurs. Congratulations to the Banh Mi team for their passion and culinary quality!

We went here during Sarika Sor's residency. Interesting but overpriced. The dishes offered were small dishes to share, a kind of tapas. The waiter recommended 3 dishes per person (not including dessert), I'll let you imagine the price. I also found that the servers were not informed enough about the chef and her dishes etc. The flavors on the other hand were interesting and took you on a journey to Asia and the dishes were reminiscent of a bistro (in terms of the level of preparation and detail). Good idea on the concept but too bad for the rest.

Excellent address. We came on Friday evening to discover the cuisine of current resident chef Sarika Sor. And we were not disappointed with the result. A true taste journey. The ravioli was surprisingly delicate. All the dishes were really good and the welcome and the Vietnamese street food atmosphere was great. I highly recommend ! 🥰

Bàhn Mi is one of my favorite restaurants in Geneva. Everything is always delicious and the atmosphere is fuss-free. I particularly like chef residencies, which are an opportunity to discover flavors and a world. The arrival of Sarika Sor is no exception; I will long remember the black pudding gyozas and their green crab bisque. In short, I am always well received and never disappointed at Bàhn Mi!

Just marketing, not catering. The quality of the food was unworthy: a hair in rice balls vaguely coated with haddock, inedible shrimp fritters with a taste of rancid oil, unprocessed sauces (a few vongole were swimming in a skin of creme fraiche with a vague taste of curry and a little lemon), poor quality products, a completely tasteless Cambodian salad. The service was rude: they forget to serve you your wine even though the dishes are sent, they serve you a wine that you did not order while insisting that it is the one. Obviously, we don't change glasses when we serve you another wine. The dishes are thrown on the table, not cleared of the previous ones, manage to make room. Big round of bread for "sauce" (yes, yes). It was necessary in fact to "settle" the stomachs given the low content of plates although at 25/30CHF. Cheap decor, inadequate location: small back room, wedged between the toilets and the scullery, with the smells of the two places mixing. Charming founder who explains to you as a great novelty the concept of chefs in residence and plates to share... We would have liked it to align with the quality standards of professionals who have been practicing this concept for several years already.

Following the highly publicized announcements of the arrival of Sarika Sor and regulars at restaurants welcoming chefs in residence, we were very looking forward to our evening. The result is very mixed. We were advised to take 6 dishes (clearly too many) but unfortunately the restaurant was unable to fulfill its promises, beyond the "production" and service capacity. After 4 courses, everything was delayed and we had to cancel the 6th. Customers were flocking for the second service even though the first was only two-thirds complete. Sarika Sor undoubtedly has a mastery of tastes, pairings and flavors, her enthusiasm is palpable but the management of time, flow and sequences greatly tarnishes this experience, too bad. The service is attentive but cannot give anything other than the impression of floating and being overwhelmed by the situation. The establishment's environment and cuisine may not be suitable for hosting such an event. To meditate.

Very very good ! It was a real shame because the prices don’t match the proportions at all…. It’s really too expensive, we paid 17.- for 3 ravioli so I find it really excessive. It's a shame because everything was excellent.

An address like you rarely find. A cuisine revisiting traditional Vietnamese dishes, but executed to perfection. All the details are taken care of: from the presentation, to the choice of products and the balance of flavors. Everything is homemade and the products are fresh, you can really feel it on the plate. I had the summer rolls, a bo bun and the lemonade and lemon yuzu crumble, everything was delicious, I would happily come back to taste the rest of the menu. PS: I've already come back 2-3 times and it's always a pleasure, the banhmi are really original and tasty.

Summer rolls are incredibly good. Vietnamese soups too (Pho Ga). In addition, it shows that the products used to prepare the dishes are of quality. The portions could potentially be a bit more generous (amount of chicken in the soup which varies slightly from one time to the next), but otherwise everything else is perfect, and the waiters/waitresses are friendly. The hot sauce and ginger sauce are delicious too. The prices are higher than other places (any Asian restaurant), however this is largely justified by the quality of the products and the attention paid to the preparation of the dishes (presentation, flavor, quality, consistency, etc.) .

This is a cozy place where you can get these traditional bánh mi with the bread being a nice fresh “baguette” ! The food is amazing ! I honestly eat a lot and every time I hesitate to take a second one given it is really good! Great spot to eat quickly. Atmosphere is really cool, clean and modern.

Disappointed! We came with high expectations because the restaurant was recommended to us and the ratings are very good. We must admit that we were disappointed by the quality of the food and the flavors which were nothing exceptional, and disappointed by the comfort (you will be seated on plastic chairs, glued to the other customers). Very average quality/price ratio.

I had a pleasant experience. The fresh lemonade was quite enjoyable, providing a refreshing taste. The shrimp summer rolls stood out as they were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Additionally, I had the opportunity to try their chicken pho, which was a new experience for me because normally I order beef combination pho in other places. While the pho itself lacked a bit of flavor without the ginger sauce, once added, it provided a delightful kick. Overall, it was a positive dining experience, and I would recommend trying their dishes.

A relatively new addition to the food scene in Geneva. This Vietnamese takeout place serves the most authentic Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) in the city. At 9 CHF per sandwich it's quite the value. The bread is perfectly fresh and it's chockful of all the ingredients that make a great Banh Mi. Just look at the cilantro/coriander! You can request that the sandwich be heated in the oven and also request the option to make it spicy (which is adding sliced red chilis). A gem of a find!

Geneva needs more concepts like this! Authentic, down-to-earth food in a super trendy setting. Well done!

I love picking up takeaway or just taking the time to enjoy a Bahn mì on site. The employees are so nice and the place is super beautiful. Parking spaces and public transport nearby.

Tried out this restaurant this week for lunch and it was great. The food was delicious, very tasty and fresh (had nems, bahn mis and desserts + homemade lemonade). Service was very attentive and the vibe very cool. Definitely a great addition to the Geneva food scene. THUMBS UP

The food here is easily some of the best food I've eaten and probably the best Vietnamese food I've tried in my life. The summer rolls were light, fragrant, delicious, fresh and so tasty. The Banh mi was truly delicious and had an incredible range of textures: amazing baguette, delicious spicy mayo, fresh cucumber and herbs, and the pork belly was out of this world. The owners of the establishment are very kind and sincere. Truly an amazing place.

We had tempeh banh mi and the salad, the bread was hard ( probably because of take out) we had high expectations because of the ratings and other reviews , but we were disappointed. The service was fast and friendly- but the banh mi didn’t hit the notes for us

I like the food, it’s delicious but the portions are small. The service is very good. I don’t feel comfortable and cosy sitting on the plastic chair the typical Vietnamese chairs for street food in Vietnam. However, in Geneva the weather is cold hence, sitting on this kind of chair is really not good. I am a Vietnamese, this restaurant is really reminds me of my country. In general I like it, just the chairs are out of my imagination😂.

My fiancé and I visited from New York City and had such a wonderful experience at Le Bánh Mì. Our French is limited and the owner took extra time to sit down with us and explain the delicious menu. I have a gluten allergy and he was incredibly accommodating, making me feel very comfortable. The meat was cooked perfectly and the cocktail artfully crafted. If we lived in Geneva, we would certainly come on a regular basis for the fabulous food!

Good homemade and well-filled sandwiches, but for me I don't find the markers of the Banh Mi that I'm used to eating, that is to say flavors of mint, coriander and Vietnamese sauces. The staff was very friendly.

When I was visiting London 5 years ago I took the opportunity to try a bánh mì and I've been waiting for a Bánh Mì place to open in Geneva ever since. I ordered the beef and crab pâté bánh mì at Le Bánh Mì – I enjoyed it so much that I've already decided to go back again later this week. It’s in the centre of Eaux-Vives , newly renovated and only been open 1 month. Long-short story is: Le Bánh Mì is great, the owners are very nice and they serve great Vietnamese sandwiches.

What a taste journey ***** Address to share as soon as possible! I went to Le Bánh Mì to taste this delicious Vietnamese sandwich, wow an explosion of flavors, enough to addict my taste buds, personally I fell for the chicken and the beef...and the spring rolls (yes I did already tested almost everything :P). 2nd time here. Takeaway lunch. It's busy but good. Very fresh. Tasty. Wish we had another one in Geneva :-) One thing perhaps... Maybe could offer another type of bread for the sandwich option. A softer roll or maybe a wrap style. Can be tough on teeth...😃 I like the place and will be going through the menu!! Btw: staff there are very nice too.

Great location and super friendly staff! The ingredients are fresh, well seasoned and compliment one another. It’s definitely on the pricier side for a sandwich but that is justified for the originality. Only down side for me was the quality of the bread which I found too hard and unleavened/not cooked throughout and too dominating. I would go back and try the other dishes on the menu.

Delicious, ultra-fresh Vietnamese sandwiches made with quality local products. The sides and desserts are also to die for! The frame is refined and stylish. Finally, the staff is friendly and smiling, just like the couple who runs the restaurant. We will return!

Stumbled upon this little, new gem of a bánh mì restaurant. I met the lovely couple who own this place and they shared it was only day three of them opening. I ordered the pork bánh mì and after seeing someone next to me with the spicy sauce, requested a side for myself. The sandwich is a healthy serving, packed with thick meat, a variety of veggies and dripping with sauce. The spicy sauce I ordered on the side added the kick I needed too. The service was wonderful, tentative and they helped me translate the menu to English. Some seating inside and out. Absolutely recommend if you're looking for lunch or a quick bite to go!
