Very welcoming staff and nice terraces. A place where we feel good and to which we return regularly and at any time of the day. We have a very beautiful memory of a wedding organized on the “old town” terrace. Thank you to the entire kitchen and service team.

An excellent burger bathed in a flowing cheddar that the server lets out in a delicious way. Nice place by the lake. It’s not great gastronomy but don’t pretend it is. I recommend.

The meal at the restaurant was pleasant, with a friendly and attentive waitress. However, I wonder about the relevance of cherry tomatoes in the mixed salad, of tomato gazpacho on the weekly menu (February) during this winter period. Unfortunately, the tomatoes lacked flavor, and it is important to remember that their cultivation in winter, whether carried out in heated greenhouses in Switzerland, in neighboring countries or in Africa with transport by truck, has a disastrous ecological impact ( approximately 2 tonnes of CO2 per tonne of tomatoes produced). This raises the question of whether tomatoes are really essential on winter menus.

BEWARE SCAMMER!!! Very shocked at their bad behavior! We went to eat as a family (2 children and 2 adults) with the table open. The staff was able to come and tell us 3x the conditions to benefit from a discount BUT at no time did they tell us that we had to specify “CHILDREN’S MENU” so that it was 50%. Our children are 5 and 8 years old!!! It’s obvious that it will be a children’s menu… And if we can explain how the discount works, we can say that you have to EXPLICITLY ask for a children's menu (even if the size of it clearly shows that it is not for an adult). No commercial gesture or call even though they said they would! Even though the meal was okay, I won't go back and won't recommend.

We come for the third time at lunchtime for dinner. The service is great. The view is exceptional, certainly one of the most beautiful in Vevey. The cuisine is very good, generous. We enjoy each of our visits to the square.

Beautiful, friendly place, too bad the food is not up to the standard of this place. We ate mussels, we were served very quickly and even too quickly because a stock of mussels was waiting to be served, therefore, overcooked....so overcooked, the mussels had to be cooked at the last moment, to top it off the baba not great, too bad.

Valentine's Day 2024 menu for a very reasonable sum of 69.-fs, a real nice surprise! Everything was delicious and generous portions. We already knew this restaurant for its very good mussels but with their Valentine's Day menu they took it a notch higher! I highly recommend !

We ate very well (as usual) and the setting was great. Our request to have a table with a view of the lake was respected and we thank the team. The only negative point was that the welcome was a little cold.

Absolutely terrible service, they are consistently bad with customers. Me and some friends went coupe of times there for a breakfast and they are extremely rude with us, made us read the menu of the 3 choices they had even when I said can you explain as I didn't bring the glasses. The waiter said: well I don't have time, she had no one to serve. On a Sunday afternoon we want to sit down to have a drink, the grumpy waitress said, " sorry all of the tables are.reserved". SUNDAY afternoon ALL of the tables weete empty all day, we sat there outside at the lake for hours and nobody turn up, she just didn't want to work. Shame as it's a beaucoup Cafe with a top location Shame on you management

Desire for change ? Le Carré is the Belgian brasserie you need. Its warm and comforting cuisine will lull you during a meal. The Flemish stew alone is worth the detour. I admit that I am thinking of coming back soon so that I can taste all the specialties of Belgian gastronomy that make up the menu. 👍👍👍

The worst restaurant for 30 years, a shame, very bad perch fillets, very pronounced burnt butter taste, cold dish and ditto hamburger with 15 fries chasing each other and the price without comment.

Beautiful traditional Belgian cuisine with of course fries cooked in beef fat, all the Belgian essentials and a burger menu, all very well executed. Daily menu at a very good price. The very friendly welcome in the first floor room with a breathtaking view of the lake and the Alps. An address that deserves to be (re)discovered since the arrival of a new chef this summer.

The square and its round sign is a very pleasant place on the banks of the lake, in Vevey. The vegetarian dish of the day was just perfect. Carbonnade too. I recommend.

Nice bar at the lakeshore with drinks and food and a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains. Variety of drinks available and some Belgian dishes. Prices are quite high for the food compared to other restaurants along the lake.

There you go... I don't usually rate restaurants because I know what work it entails. But frankly it's great and I recommend it, a great discovery!

A unique, well-placed location and a magnificent interior terrace

My visit to the square this evening was a great disappointment. Let's start with what's good anyway: the food remains excellent, the expected Belgium is there and for a Lille resident, it's nice to feel like you're at home. I also praise the service of the clerk who performed solo all evening. On the other hand, the waitress (manager?) is of no use or even ruins the whole experience. Hello, the lack of welcome, the lack of presence, the person is just letting his colleague struggle and it was sad to see. Being in the restaurant business myself, seeing this is unthinkable. Finally, we waited almost 10 minutes to get the bill, while the latter chatted with her colleague from the bar downstairs, seeing us and probably waiting for her lackey to come. What happened... I would like to add that we had specified that we were celebrating a civil partnership, not a candle was added to the dessert... I still left a tip for this poor clerk, hoping that it was only for him, he alone deserves it.

The one who takes orders is as cold as the black lady I had for dessert. The waiter who doesn't speak French very well, with his smile and kindness, helps raise the bill. Mussels and fries like in Belgium? No. Warm Belgian service? No. A reshuffle is to be reviewed When a customer wants to pay his bill, we don't look at him with indifference, by continuing to discuss his schedule with the colleague, we put the customer first.

Very pretty, next to the lake...maybe a little expensive

In the past, I was a big fan of this restaurant - I like the location and the food and service was pretty good. My experience last week was horrible, and this was mostly due to the service. The staff were inattentive, poorly trained, and came across as incompetent. Anytime something could be done wrong, it was. It became a comedy. I would like to go back, but I will not unless the restaurant works on its service.

Hateful and autain staff. We waited almost 30 minutes without being greeted. Although seats were available and the waiter clearly saw us. I do not recommend this pathetic restaurant in any way.

Superb place. Top service, young and uninhibited atmosphere. An excellent bar/restaurant where you can have a good time with friends or alone.

Food is poor, combined with horrible loud music. Most other places in Vevey are much nicer and more in tune with the beauty of the surroundings.

Nice little terrace in the center of old Vevey, there seems to be a terrace also on the lake side. We took the menu of the day, peach and tuna starter, special but original mix and good in the end, basmati rice chicken curry or vegetarian chickpeas, both very good. Remember to try the very good homemade lemonades (but a little expensive 6.-.)

Always so nice to have lunch or dinner at Le Carré, even in winter, in this original, cool, modern and warm setting, with your feet almost in the lake. But the main thing is the quality of what's on the plate, whether it's copious, perfectly prepared mussels, a fish of the day, a fillet of perch, or quite simply a delicious hamburger. Large selection of Belgian and Dutch beers, etc. served in their respective glasses. Guaranteed atmosphere at "Bardu", below, to listen to good music of all styles and to move a little...

We ordered 1 starter and two burgers. When ordering, the waiter had to think twice to note. After a very long wait the burgers arrived and we were told that the starter had not been noted. We therefore decide to be satisfied with the dishes and we ask to refill our drinks. The drinks never arrived. No apologies from the servers, as long as you feel like you're bothering them. Luckily the food wasn't bad, even if it clearly wasn't the best burgers we've had. The service is really pitiful, a shame because the restaurant has potential.

For a Belgian restaurant...... the mussels and fries are really not edible. Very disappointing for the kitchen. The service is rubbish, the waiters are busy and the owners are not welcoming at all. On the other hand, the beers are excellent!!! I won't go back again, it was the 2nd and really a shame. A tourist trap.

The food was very good but the service extremely long. There was hardly anyone on the terrace and it took us 1 hour to be served just for the 2 starters of the dish of the day... Big downside too, the "vegetarian" salad which ended up having lots of anchovies, which is clearly not normal. No commercial gesture to make amends. It's a shame, because the setting is magnificent and the food is generally good, but we won't be going back.

Beware of the tourist, you could be charged for water in a carafe at a high price of 8 chf. However, we ordered standard water. Tourists are being abused, this is unacceptable. There are several restaurants nearby with a beautiful view. So I don't recommend this restaurant.

The wait is no longer measured in minutes but in hours and reservations on the internet are not taken into account so must be returned

Passed a week ago. Served small breakfasts: 1 poorly cooked egg, 1 piece of overly salty salmon, 3 average pancakes. The correct salad, the burger certainly frozen or tasteless... all very expensive for the quality. The service, nice but classless, everyone (5) on a small table which did not contain everything! in short to avoid, except a coffee and croissant...

Excellent little restaurant found completely by chance. It was even planned that we would stop and it was a very pleasant surprise. The street was closed to traffic that day, allowing you to fully enjoy the terrace and the view of the lake. The waitresses were superbly pleasant and cheerful. Too bad we pay for parking by the hour, we would have liked to have stayed longer :) An address that I recommend!

When I saw my darling running to the bathroom to vomit up his half burger, I knew we weren't going back. We had a platter of cold meats, cheese, terrine and bread for an aperitif which was great, and that's the only thing that was. Too bad, the setting is rather nice, and the waiter was nice.

The place is great, good atmosphere and great view of the lake. Bonnard atmosphere, a lot of care has been taken to the aesthetic side. The board is really great, fair price, varied and beautiful presentation. Belgian beers are good. However, the starter "Duo de croquettes" had a good taste, but the texture and taste were not great. The burger had everything to please, beautiful presentation, but only had its appearance. Indeed, the salad was as if cooked in vinegar (seemed not fresh), the steak had everything of frozen steak cooked at high temperature, dry and tasteless, the sauce was good but could do with a little extra to refine and perfect the burger. The fries were undercooked, but the sauces were good. The waiting time was very long, 3 hours for an aperitif, starter and main course... Too bad, this place has everything to please, has great products but the flavors of their dishes don't do them justice.

It's been more than 20 years since I returned to this legendary place in Vevey which has since changed its name and concept. And it's for the best. We particularly appreciated the welcome and the service that day. Congratulations to our server who works with passion and kindness. I'll have to get back to meal times.

We had the plat du jour with a salad 🥗 as entree with a salad a main?? Burnt cheese balls! was inedible. We gave it back. Horrible food. Bad combinations of ingredients. I’m already starting to feel stomach pain after eating a few bites. Avoid this place.
