Thank you for the dinner experience. The atmosphere is not too stiff but everything works as you would expect. The enjoyed the hare as recommended and it was a success. The only small complaint would be that the bread served was not cut properly all the way, so it required some irritating work to get a piece but this is a minor and easily fixable thing in an otherwise great place. I hope they fix it in for future guests. It is no wonder this seems to be one of the recommended classics in Geneva. On another note, reading the review below from Korea, I can't believe someone would ruin a nice night over a charge related to water and make a big fuss about it. Seems unnecessary, disproportionate and rude - hopefully he did not bother other guests with this show.

I recently dined at Chat-Botté, nestled in the Beau-Rivage hotel in Geneva. A true gem for lovers of French cuisine! The view of Lake Geneva adds to the magic of the place, making the experience even more memorable. The dishes were a delight for the taste buds, reflecting the passion and expertise of the chef. 1. They struggled with finding my reservation name as I have a Korean name, better to book a simpler name if you have a unique name. However, other hotels never struggled so it was a bit weird. 2. The food was artistic, overall, the food was wonderful but one fish menu tasted a bit sour, and raw cooking. We told it honestly as they asked how it was, but it was just asking, not like a real service checkup. 3. Their service was nice and educated like any other hotels, but we had a problem with ‘water’. Since it was tap water, we didn’t expect to pay, but they charged 18chf. As we mentioned to one waiter, another waitress came and this is for filtered water charge, but she will change the check. Then another waitress came and she removed 9chf, but as it is service charge, we need to pay. They didn’t pour more water and what service they did with that tap water😂 As I express unhappiness, a sommelier came and said it’s filtered and he understood we wanted not tap water but filtered one. Because of ‘tap water’, total four staffs came and made all the excuses. The luxury service should be flexible and considerable if there is a problem, NOT making four staffs to say excuses. That’s what I experienced from other hotels and what I got educated from hotel school. If it is bottle of water, I get it why I need to pay, we are in Switzerland and which hotel makes tap water to pay. With the rule of ordering at least one drink per guest, it would be more acceptable if one staff talked in that way, though I never see one hotel tried me to charge because of tap water in Switzerland. Plus, I ordered one champagne glass for the manner🤣🤣 As it was my fiance’s birthday, I didn’t want to complain that much, but in the end, the happiness was ruined, I really want them to think about the guest view. They come with high expectations and spend this restaurant for the best experience. I book our wedding venue in Beau rivage so I hope they improve the service and next tasting experience would be better than this.

Magnificent place with attentive staff. An incredible experience and flavors, a 6-course menu (on paper at least) but ultimately in 8 colorful courses. Our favorite was the Lake Geneva Pike, green asparagus, Sologne imperial caviar. And the icing on the cake, we met the talented Chef, Mr. Dominique Gauthier. We had a great time that we won't soon forget. Congratulations to the whole team. Very nice experience

A great fine dining experience in Geneva.. we had the vegetal tasing menu and it was lovely. It was asparagus season so that was highlighted, so it maybe made some of the courses somewhat redundant. But between the ambiance, presentation, and service, it was a treat!

At Chat Botté, Dominique Gauthier truly has the art of using food to create Happiness, and Vincent Debergé with his team that of making us feel "at home". Dishes visually and taste-wise without mistakes, perfect service without ever being obsequious. Overall and having been there several times without ever being disappointed, Chat Botté is my favorite Michelin-starred restaurant.

Went for lunch at this japanese-inspired european restaurant - service was immaculate and the restaurant was lovely. However, the food served on the business lunch menu leaves much to be desired compared to the signature menu. I ordered the frog legs and langoustines from the signature menu and they were delicious, fresh and innovative. The amuse bouche was also mouthwatering. However, my companion ordered the veal from the business lunch and it was rather bland and boring. the salmon ceviche starter on the business lunch was also very average. I would recommend that you get the signature ala cartes instead of the business lunch. that being said, the business lunch is pretty good value for money - you do get very full with a lot of amuse bouche and petit fours. I do, however, feel that the restaurant should improve its business lunch offerings as it was too stark a contrast with the signature dishes.

I have no choice but to use a superlative here. Dinner at Chat-Botté truly was one of the best dining experiences. Chef Gauthier may not be an avant-garde scientist in the kitchen but he is a maestro, creating a beautiful symphony with the ingredients he has. I’ve gone around the world and went to quite a few fine dining restaurants in NYC, London, Milano, Firenze, Marrakech, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo but I’ve not met any chef like Mr. Gauthier who gets the fundamentals right. No gimmick, no excess. Just beautifully cooked dishes. I could give him extra stars, if I could. Also at the service is the sommelier whose name I unfortunately do not know. His pairing of wine and food was a work of art. He served us Spanish Temprallino wine paired with a shrimp and mushroom dish. I thought it was a mistake on his part but oh me oh my. It was an eye-opening pairing. So my hat’s off to the sommelier too! Moreover, the servers at the restaurant were courteous and charming, speaking to my company and me in English and French (we are multilinguals). Finally, if it’s your first time visiting Switzerland, try the eau-de-vie made with apricots after the meal. It was a divine end to the unforgettable meal. Thank you so much to Mr. Gauthier and his team. Merci!

Historic Michelin-starred restaurant located in the Beau Rivage hotel. I should point out that I went alone and wasn't very hungry, so I probably didn't take full advantage of the menu's potential. The setting is a little overloaded in furniture for my taste, but I really appreciated the wide spacing between the tables. The service is very courteous and punctual, I was not able to benefit from the skills of the sommelier having only ordered one glass. I ate goat cheese ravioli, good but I found the excessive presence of mushrooms jarring, the sea bass on the contrary was excellent. Generally a good experience, the Michelin star is ok, two might be too much in our opinion

The food was ok but some things I didn't like: - The food wasting. Food was being wasted purely for the sake of presentation, laying single tiny appetizers on a pile of popcorn or ground almond, not meant to be eaten, just to look pretty and to be thrown away. I don't think it shows respect for food nor general respect for the world and the environment. - The servers were like hawks, the moment you bite your food they quickly come and grab your plate, it felt quite invasive how they constantly look at you and your plate to come and grab it when finished. Not very necessary I think, I enjoy eating in peace.. The food itself is good, ingredients are of quality but the rest is not so great.

Le Chat Botte is an exquisite restaurant. We had a 5 dish menu, all around the main theme of chanterelles and trufles. All dishes were well balanced with a lot of attention paid to local produce. Veal was unbelievable - I dont think I have ever tasted any meat so delicate as this. Ravioli with lobster was amazingly coupled with smooth curry sauce. Sommelier was very capable and suggested perfect wines that complemented each dish. Two other things worth mentioning: very good location and impeccable service. Michelin star well deserved.

Nous y avons passé la soirée du Réveillon de la Saint-Sylvestre, donc un menu identique pour tous les convives. 5 entrées, plat, fromage et 2 desserts + quelques amuse-bouches et mignardises. Le tout pour 395.-/personne, mais avec beaucoup d'ingrédients topissimes, comme de la truffe blanche et noire, du caviar, du foie gras, homard, coquilles etc... Tous les plats étaient sublimes, goût incroyable, présentation soignée. Nous y reviendrons à une autre occasion, c'est sûr.

Nous avons dîné au Chat Botté pour la Saint Sylvestre à la Table du chef dans la cuisine et avons passé une soirée inoubliable. Tout était parfait, du repas, en passant par les vins et au niveau du service. Impossible de déterminer lequel des 9 plats était le meilleur, tous se valaient et étaient parfaitement exécutés. On se demande vraiment pourquoi le Guide Michelin fait la fine bouche en ne donnant "que" une étoile à ce restaurant qui en vaut au moins deux?!

We enjoyed one of the best meals we have had at Le Chat Botte- a special New Year’s meal where every dish was a masterpiece. The service and presentation were both outstanding. The chef even stopped by our table which was also nice and much appreciated. Normally with a dinner with multiple courses there’s at least one item that isn’t special, but that was not the case with this meal. Everything was extraordinary, flavorful and very well prepared. Wonderful experience!

We had a wonderful 6-course dinner at Le Chat-Botté. We were wondering a little mid-meal if we should have taken the 8-course menu, but it all turned out to be more than generous. I particularly enjoyed the scallops and the fish, and even the bread selection was so original! The pre-dessert could have been the ideal dessert on its own: the soufflée at the end felt very heavy and concentrated to finish a big meal like this. Service is absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff work together as a well-oiled machine, everything is nicely timed and coordinated.

Ce fut un diner parfait ! Un grand merci au Chef Gauthier pour sa cuisine raffinée et pleine de finesse et de gout. C'était vraiment exquis. Le service quant à lui était d'une haute volée. Nous nous sommes sentis très à l'aise grâce à notre serveuse (grande aux yeux bleus) qui nous a chouchouté du début à la fin du repas. Nous sommes retournés entre amis sur la terrasse réaménagée. Un vrai bonheur d'avoir une si belle vue, au calme et en pleine ville.La cuisine est toujours aussi exquise avec entre autre un gazpacho vert en entrée à se damner.Service très attentionné et discret.

Une excellente adresse à tous les niveaux. Un cadre classique et élégant. Un personnel absolument parfait de professionnalisme et de gentillesse associés. Un sommelier passionné, comme ils le sont souvent. La cuisine mérite largement son macaron ... les goûts sont justes et maîtrisés, le grand travail en cuisine se révèle dans des assiettes parfaites. Une fois de plus chaque plat est parfaitement servies sans artifice inutile, avec beaucoup de gentillesse, et d’écoute. On perçoit que l’équipe sait parfaitement s’adapter à chaque table, ce qui est pour moi la marque essentielle d’un service de qualité. Bravo à toute votre équipe !

Mi esposo quería visitar el restaurante que comió hace 19 años.La comida y el servicio era muy francés; El restaurante era muy tranquilo con algunos banqueros y parejas.Probamos algunas opciones a la carta, como foie gras, verduras asadas de invierno, carne de cerdo, ternera, queso y souffl. El foie gras era excelente al igual que el souffl. El servicio fue perfecto (estoy seguro de que no es fácil para los camareros). Una noche encantadora.

We were very impressed with the food and service. We opted for the 6 course Signature menu (frog leg, scallop, sea urchin with caviar, salmon, john dory, foie gras, pigeon, pre dessert, souffle and some other sweets) we have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants but this definitely exceeded our expectation. The pigeon in particular was perfectly done. I normally do not write reviews, but I truly think that the chef deserves another star..... a definite must try if you are in geneva.

Unfortunately not up to our expectations! Having come for lunch for the Christmas menu, we did not find the setting enchanting, quite the contrary. Festive decorations almost absent, minimalist table setting, stained carpet, curtains untied in places... I'm not Japanese: I like beautiful bouquets, Christmas decorations, a nicely set table upon my arrival and not two plates lost on a white tablecloth next to a pot of starving flowers... Fortunately, the service was up to standard and the meal was quality. However - with the exception of the appetizer - the cook that I am was not dazzled: Well executed but without any major taste surprises.

Decorations on the tables and throughout the restaurant are sensible and stylish. The toilets are constantly clean and all in all the place gives a very good impression. The restaurant is consistently fine and we had a wonderful evening there. I find the selection to be very varied and everything that was put in front of me still tasted perfectly. The service is always very diligent and always obliging!

Repas d'affaires parfait du début à la fin. Service raffiné et très professionnel. En ce qui concerne la cuisine, c'était juste topissime tout au long du menu avec un final somptueux: le soufflé (dessert signature). Les vins suggérés pour accompagner le menu étaient parfaits. Bref, bon rapport prix-plaisir plus que mérité.

A bustling lyonnaise style bistrot in the Pâquis area of Geneva. The decorations and tables were all in the classic style. The service was very welcoming and quick. If you are into steak, this is the place, go no further. From sirloin to fillet steak (Tournedos) and their famous beef wellington (call in advance for it), all are cooked to perfection. They have very good dishes of the day, but for this review, I stuck with the main menu. I had a terrine stuffed with morilles mushrooms to start off, followed by the Tournedos Rossini which comes with an indulgent pan-seared piece of foie gras and dauphinois potatoes as side. The accompanying sauce is both rich and luscious. I finished off with the desert of the day which consisted of a tasty chocolate and carmel tarte. All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this establishment with friends, family, business or even on your own. It is well worth the experience.

Nagomi Sushi A gem of a Sushi place in central Geneva, not far from the Cornavin train station and in the Pâquis area of town. This restaurant provides for the freshest and most succulent Sushi I have had in Geneva, with melt in your mouth fish spanning the range of subtle flavours this kind of cuisine offers. This restaurant is very small and you definitely have to reserve your seat in advance. Its intimate atmosphere and simple but elegant settings are transport you out of Geneva and into Japan. The best in my view is to get a counter table seat to see the Chef at work, expertly cutting and preparing every morsel of goodness. Granted, this place is a bit on the pricey side but considering the freshness of the fish, the attentive service and who is preparing the food right there in front of you, it is well worth going to. Note the restaurant has sister ‘tempura’ restaurant that is also getting glowing reviews.
