The welcome, the atmosphere, the service, especially the cuisine and all the know-how of Master Jean Marc Bessire elevate us each time in a combination of tastings and flavors that only a Grand Master knows the secret... without being demand we must be guided by the good proposals of the Boss, they already have knowledge and professionalism in the art of serving well. Together in this perfect and sublime gathering we feel that we have already won since the arrival... we are good. We leave feeling light, satisfied, happy and we think about coming back for treatment soon. We had an excellent evening! We were lucky enough to be seated at the table d'hôte, to dine while observing the kitchen at work. We loved interacting with the people in the kitchen and the service was impeccable. The 9-course menu included lake and sea fish and shellfish. The wine list highlights Geneva and Swiss wines. The meal was delicious and the two very balanced desserts rounded off the menu perfectly. It was a great discovery, we will come back!

Completely terrible service, worthy of a hidden camera or a nightmare episode in the kitchen. Unfortunately we were not able to taste the dishes because we were so disgusted by the service. Clearly overrated place that is not worth all these excellent reviews. We will never return to this establishment to avoid.

A fun family lunch with Corinne, Jean-Marc, and his team. The delicious dishes and the wine chosen by Corinne are a perfect accompaniment. Thanks to Jean-Marc's great talent, 2 seemingly simple dishes brightened up our meal: zucchini flowers, which he picked the same morning, with a marine flavor and raw sardine fillets. A wonderful balance of flavors without false notes. A mention also for the tasty dessert, a voluptuous cherry Pavlova. As usual, a very good time of pleasure for the taste buds and friendship.

A mixed experience at Le Cigalon restaurant in Geneva I recently visited the restaurant Le Cigalon in Geneva, known for its reputation for fish. Unfortunately, my experience was somewhat disappointing. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted kindly by the staff, which created a pleasant atmosphere. However, the service proved to be a bit slow and disorganized. I had to wait a long time to place my order and for the food to arrive at my table. As for the fish, I expected exceptional quality, given the restaurant's reputation in this area. Unfortunately, the fish dish I ordered did not live up to my expectations. The cooking was not perfectly controlled, which affected the texture and flavor of the fish. The accompaniments and sauces served with the fish also lacked finesse. They were rather bland and didn't complement the main course. I was disappointed by this lack of consistency in flavors. Nevertheless, I must point out that the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with elegant decoration and a calm atmosphere. Additionally, the staff was friendly despite the few service issues encountered. In conclusion, although the restaurant Le Cigalon in Geneva is famous for its fish, my experience was mixed. I was hoping for superior quality in terms of food and service, but was disappointed with the preparation and presentation of the fish. However, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. So I would recommend this place for its setting, but I would advise choosing fish dishes carefully.

Family run, very quaint, cozy, place. We did the 10 course chef menu and it was very good. For 1 star michelin, they did a really nice job. Highly recommend.

According to people, I was delighted to discover the Cigalon Universe. I was very disappointed with my evening. First of all, I was surprised that I was asked about my allergies and tastes only after the appetizer. It would have been more professional to do this from the start to avoid any misunderstandings. Then, I was very disappointed to see that the bread arrived after the 3rd course and that it did not come with any oil or butter. This is a lack of consideration for customers who expect quality service. Additionally, I was shocked to hear that the restaurant did not do a food and wine pairing with this 9-course menu, because I quote: “it's too complicated to create a food and wine pairing for this kind Menu”. For a restaurant that has had a Michelin star for 24 years, I expected more personalized service and special attention to customers. Finally, the portions were very small. Given the service provided, I wonder if the Cigalon still deserves its Michelin star.

We took the chef's surprise, which consists of a microscopic tasting of ten dishes for the modest sum of 175chf per person which will leave you hungry...

Correct but a little expensive compared to the food. Also watch out for the pleasant terrace but full of insects... Pleasant service.

The second time dining there. Another wonderful culinary experience. It's specialised in fish dishes. Ingredients were fresh. The restaurant setting was classy. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Each course served was nicely presented with a mix of flavours satisfying all taste buds. I particularly liked the stuffed zucchini flower. It's delicate. The silky fish stuffing was delicious. Memorable. A restaurant that is worth trying and we'll definitely go again too.

Magnificent place...it is obvious that the menu is also magnificent. I was somewhat privileged since the chef had to take on the challenge of preparing a complete VEGAN menu for me; a challenge that he met with flying colors! Everything was delicious, tasty, colorful...just maybe a slight lack of vegetable proteins...I like to believe that he was just as happy as I was with his "performance"😉...in any case, really, well done and thank you!!!

Friendly welcome but if you are unfortunate enough to make the slightest comment, you are pigeonholed… The rest happens very quickly, everything comes together as if we were showing you the exit door and above all, we explain to you that Ms. has been doing this job for 27 years so, obviously, everything is perfect. The cheese cart is magnificently beautiful and really tempting but, in the 165 CHF menu, you only have the right to see it…. We bring you 3 small pieces with incomprehensible names without any explanation. In short, very disappointed.

I have to say that we went to this restaurant which had great reviews to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday; we rely on reviews to choose where we go and normally the reviews are pretty accurate…but not in this case so please pay attention ! Unfortunately the hostess who is the wife of the cook was borderline unfriendly and never really smiled or had anything to say to us other than are you finished? Needless to say we were extremely disappointed in the service which was mechanical and unpleasant. The food was ok, but couldn’t make up for the lack of ambiance! No we will never be back…and there are many good restaurants that are much more pleasant than this restaurant…!

Nous avons redécouvert ce restaurant après une longue absence dû à notre éloignement de Thônex. Nous y avons déjeuné un vendredi et avons choisi le menu "Fish Lunch". Tout était absolument parfait et d'une fraîcheur irréprochable. Les tables étaient suffisamment éloignées les unes des autres, le service attentif et aimable. Bref, je conseille vivement cette adresse.

In a refined and sober setting, the sea is present throughout the decoration and sublimated in your plates. An exceptional table not to be missed. The “Fish Lunch” menu served at midday is extraordinary. The plates are presented with class and extremely well decorated. The service is very professional and extremely courteous. Count 80.- chf for two for lunch with half a bottle of wine.

I went for the first time, my guest who lives locally has been many times. We had an excellent dinner, a quiet table with very good service, quite unobtrusive. The owner and the chef came by to be sure we were happy. The dishes were unusual and delicious. Parking in front which was very convenient. Will be back.

Nous avons déjeuné avec notre fille de 7 ans ce midi. Les mets étaient exquis. Notre fille a adoré le poisson grillé et son risotto ainsi que le dessert à la meringue. Des amuses bouches en passant par l entre e le fromages et mignardises tout était parfait! Laissez vous transporter au grès des vagues de leur plat, vous ne serez point déçus! Le grand chef et son épouse sont d une gentille exemplaire et savent accueillir leur client. Un restaurant caché juste derrière la frontière qu' il ne faut surtout pas raté! Merci à vous et votre équipe pour ce moment agréable et savoureux!

We returned to see if the first good impression was confirmed. Definitely a great address. Dishes full of balance and finesse, good products, perfect and inventive blends. A brilliant and cordial chef, who clearly loves to please his guests. A pastry chef completes it for very pleasant desserts. The rating is completely reasonable. With two excellent menus (amuse bouche, starters, main courses, desserts, sweets, wine, water, coffee): we got it for 160 CHF, the smile and the availability and flexibility of the chef as a gift. 1st experience: The Genevans say that it is THE best fish restaurant in the canton. It's true that we were amazed by the quality from the appetizers, dishes, desserts & sweets. Very very good, inventive and beautiful, perfect cooking. The breads are excellent, the tables are spaced apart and the room is not noisy. Just a small downside, the waitress doesn't pay much attention to what we need, maybe an intern? But nothing serious. I recommend this restaurant very calmly for any special occasion. Michelin is not very generous in giving just one macaron, Gault et Millau seems closer to the truth with its four toques and 17/20.
