Good place for a beer among friends or even for a date. Amazing view on the lake and the mountains behind. It's very nice to be there in the evening for the sunset or even later since the atmosphere is kept chill and romantic with nice lights. We go there basically every Friday and it has never let us down. Try the hummus, one of the best in Lausanne. Very close to metro station Unil-Sorge and to Unil and EPFL campus.

If one word had to describe my experience at Le Perchoir it would be: pitiful! Reservation: Impossible to reserve a table if there are not 10 people (on the website), 12 people when requesting by email. Aberrant. Staff: unfriendly as possible. Information to have to draw out the worms from the nose. Hours: “Monday to Friday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.”. In reality: 8:50 p.m. kitchen closes, 9:45 p.m. last drink service, 10 p.m. everyone out. Cuisine: platter not available, hummus focaccia very good. “generous pizze al taglio” a pure joke! A Margherita pizza worthy of a gas station! Scandalous. In summary, magnificent setting, lovely terrace area with enormous potential! Poorly operated, poorly organized, incorrect information on their site, a guaranteed flop! Too bad… fortunately the choice of beer is interesting to swallow the pill.

The setting is lovely, with a great view on the lake. The drinks are not too much expensive (beers between 6 and 8 CHF). 2CHF deposit. The food is good, and the cookies delightful

The service is really poor. First, they get the order wrong and don't calculate the customers. The reception was very cold to the extent that we were visibly disturbing a very interesting conversation where the staff was criticizing their hierarchy. We had been seated for 30 minutes at a table reserved for 7:30 p.m., a waitress (not sure we can call her that, no professionalism) with aggressive gestures ordering us to get up, mimed us to leave the table immediately while It was 6:30 p.m. Place not to be recommended…

Fantastic location with a true amazing vue of the lake and mountains. Try the IPA that is the best beer they serve on tap .

Great setting, great atmosphere and good choices when it comes to beers. Snacks, on the other hand, are expensive for the quantity.

Breathtaking views and nice drinks

The view is magnificent and as a bar I have nothing to say. However… The bar hosts concerts that are far too noisy, yet it is not located in an isolated location but above a student complex of 1000+ residents. The music can be heard well from the rooms with the windows closed (as if we had played the music directly in our room). What is the idea of ​​putting a concert stage above a student building, known for being poorly soundproofed? The bar was fine before, otherwise. Having lived in the vortex for two years, I find it a lack of respect towards its inhabitants. This may be the second such complaint on Google, but it is not an isolated thought among the residents of this residence. It's not that the music is bad, on the contrary it is in very good taste but not appropriate for this type of home (or any home at this sound level). A little respect would be appreciated, as your “amplified music goes through walls” is at a level loud enough to disrupt daily activities, whether that be studying during the day or watching Netflix series in the late afternoon/evening. It is not because it is not nighttime noise or that you ask the police for authorization that it is not inappropriate and disrespectful towards your neighborhood. If it were the gendarmes who lived here, or adults, I imagine it would be a different story.

Excellent view, nice music you can hear if you sit inside the bar. A great place to enjoy especially if you are in groups. I only wished they could enhance the quality of their cocktails, and change their offered plates to accompany the drinks from simple dishes that looks like putting together grocery products to something more interesting…

Magnificent terrace and place to relax, pay attention to paid parking which is very poorly advertised, parking meter not visible, the majority of cars had a fine of 45 Fr.

Very pretty rooftop with a breathtaking view of the vortex and the lake. Large, well-furnished and modern terrace. Splendid sunset. Very interesting choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Small meals on site unfortunately the kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.… a little early for a bar of this type. Otherwise really great!

My review concerns the social community impact of the rooftop bar. The bar often hosts very loud concerts, which would be okay, if it were appropriately located, however, it is on top of an apartment building that houses ca. 1.500 (!) residents that have to suffer severe noise disturbance. While I find the idea of a roof top bar in an apartment complex in itself charming, if it would cater music at a volume level that is appropriate, I really cannot fathom how the apartment company (FMEL?) accepts that a loud concert venue is on top of such a vast apartment complex, that suffers from incredibly bad noise insulation. If Le Perchoir were a business that cared about good neighborhood relations, they would refrain from being responsible for such kind of noise disturbance.

Very nice view and nice atmosphere on a rooftop in the center of the uni. However, the service is horrible! I have never been treated so badly in Switzerland! The waiter rolled his eyes on me twice because I needed a refill! This is no way to treat a costumer! Also the toilet was closed!

Incredible view, simple and effective drinks menu with original new products, something to nibble on and all at a low price. Only downside, a small space when there are a lot of people or when the weather is bad

Superb terrace, superb view, however too long to take an order!!! On a Tuesday at the end of the afternoon, too many people so all the places are taken, which we find normal (because open to everyone, not just people residing at the vortex). But almost an hour in line to order drinks and something to snack on, and you take your orders to your table!!. But in itself, top drinks and very well made boards but expensive for the quantity...!.

Young and trendy place. friendly staff. Good selection of beers and other alcohols. Nice little restaurant. Magnificent view from the top of the Vortex over the surrounding area and Lake Geneva. I highly recommend. Check the timetables online beforehand.

Location location location ! Perfect sunset views while having some drinks

Really nice to have a drink with friends and enjoy the view! Friendly atmosphere. On the top floor of the Vortex which allows students to fully enjoy student life. The seats are great! From seating at a small table, to deckchairs and padded benches with a magnificent view of the mountains. The glasses are returnable.

Great variety of beer with interesting tastes. The Bar have a terrace and a place to sit inside, very comfortable. Great staff, extremely polite. The Bar have great views from the top! Good place to meet with friends, have a cup of tasty beer, especially for 6-7 francs (0.5l).

Zelig has become a bohemian thing... Where have the waiters with dreads gone, the coffees for one franc served in chipped cups, the syrups for 1.-???? I tell you, gentrification is wreaking havoc everywhere...
