Prices a little expensive, raw materials are scarce in this country apparently. The waiters were very rude and took a while to serve us. We ate there because it was the only place that allowed us to eat at 2:30 p.m.

A pleasant evening was spent. The staff is nice and the food tastes good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the location is good.

Honestly one of my favorite restaurants in Bern because I’ve never been let down. Great food, amazing service - they go above and beyond for you ☺️ one time we forgot to make a reservation and yet they still found a way to make it work. Everytime anyone asks me where to eat in Bern, I always recommend Luce. The Galleria in particular is my absolute favorite! Love the ambiance. ♥️✨

Very good food, with friendly service

We recently had a meal there and received a great welcome. Despite the fact that we didn't have a reservation, a solution was quickly found. The service was super efficient and friendly, the food was totally relaxed. The 5 stars are well deserved. I would be happy to recommend Restaurant Luce.

Super friendly welcome from boss Stevo. Was with colleague H.P. Scholl there. Nothing off the menu, just a daily recommendation. Awesome. It couldn't be better.

4 of us had dinner after a winter day spent visiting Bern. Welcoming, warm, it immediately refreshed us. The food is exceptional, very fresh ingredients and excellent dishes, just like Italian mothers make them! The mixed starter is delicious (the spring onions, the octopus...), the green lasagne exceptional, the homemade strozzapreti excellent... In short, we recommend it! The price is right and the waiter who served us was quick and friendly. We will be back!

The seafood risotto was expensive, but it was plentiful and delicious. Good service The bread was delicious. I went there because I wanted to eat Italian food, but I don't regret the taste. I'll probably go again.

It's not without reason that (Galeria) Luce is my favorite restaurant in Bern. The original restaurant may be cramped, but the food makes up for it. If you want a little more space, you can go to Galeria Luce. The Luce offers a large selection of pasta dishes as well as pizzas. If you want to try a real culinary delight, it's best to choose the homemade strozzapreti "Bufala". If I need a spark of “Italianità” again, I go to Luce. As I write this I'm getting hungry again. Finally: Thanks to the team for the excellent service and hospitality. Grazie mille!

Fine food with courteous service in a beautiful ambience

Very central restaurant, very full. Very kind staff. Astronomical prices, but in line with Switzerland. The quality of the food is good, but my daughter ordered a piadina (20Chf) mozzarella and tomato that was literally floating in mozzarella water. We changed two dishes to prevent it from drowning, but the flavor was inevitably compromised anyway. He ate it because he was hungry, but frankly he should have sent it back. For me two microscopic bruschettas, good, and an equally mignon salad. Water and a glass of wine: 70 chf.

Went as a walk-in group of 8 with friends and everyone was very happy with their meals and the friendly service during a busy time. The tiramisu was the best we have had locally- heavenly! 10/10

The food is very good and the wine cellar is excellent and has an impressive impact inside the light tunnel. We had lunch there, without having booked, the staff was very courteous and fussy, the location is top, clean services and excellent food. I count in my opinion it was more than right. For me this place is top, great good guys

The bathroom is amazing 🤣. And if you ask for a coffee they Will bring a small piece of cake. Very nice.

On February 8th at 7:30 pm, I went to this establishment with my partner. We were served by someone who looked like the Manager (since she was dressed differently) and we asked if it was possible to have a table for 2 people, the lady there walked around the restaurant and informed us that at the moment no, in a less than friendly and inviting way. When asked how long it could take, she replied ‘more or less 1 hour’. Soon after I asked if we could wait outside and the expression was pure contempt. Having said that, it was a tremendous disappointment during our visit to Bern. I do not recommend.

Exceptional pizza, great quality. Very busy place but friendly and fairly quick service.

I've been there twice recently and I really enjoyed it, the food is Romagna style, really good. Excellent service and customer attention even if spaces are very limited. The only sore point, the Aperol spritz which was smooth....not at all carbonated. The rest is excellent, fairly balanced value for money and it is very central, I advise you to book in advance.

Very friendly staff - good quality food - ambience rather loud during lunchtime. But wherever good quality is offered, there are always a lot of people.

Very positively surprised. I expected a tourist trap but boy I was proven wrong. We had the special crab Strozzapreti and Crostini and both were memorable. Quite big portions compared to most Swiss restaurants. Service was friendly, took notice of our allergies and was fast. Wish you guys would open in Züri :)

On Saturday you have no chance without a reservation, which speaks for the restaurant. The service was very courteous, my pizza and bruschetta were very tasty, but because every table is occupied and the seats are quite close together, the background noise is very loud. Still highly recommended!

From the outside the restaurant looks quiet posh but it‘s actually really not posh, very friendly staff, great food, prices are absoluetly ok for Bern city center. You need to visit this restaurant

Excellent Italian restaurant in the middle of Bern!

Very great restaurant. Top location, beautifully furnished in a historic building. Nice and competent staff. Selection of wines is very good, but there are also homemade lemonades or simply beer. Food was very tasty, prices were okay for Switzerland. Gladly again!

The four of us went to the Galleria in the evening and ordered wine and two portions of French fries. The fries were terribly cooked and you could smell the old oil (+ too much of it!!!) in which they were fried. The smell was very unappetizing! We asked the waiter about it and told him that the fries smelled very bad and the oil was probably not fresh. He said: “I don’t know, I didn’t prepare the fries.” … We couldn't eat these fries, but we were able to pay for everything despite complaining! When we left the restaurant we asked the manager about it again and he was clueless because the waiter hadn't told him anything. He said maybe the fries had been left in the oil for too long. Conclusion: something like this shouldn't happen in a restaurant like this. However, if it does happen, complaints should be handled professionally. First apologize and offer the guests something to make up for.

The staff was super accommodating and the restaurant is very nicely set up. The food was also great, but unfortunately it wasn't seasoned enough for my taste. Price was good, we were 5 people and paid around 400 for a starter, main course, dessert and drinks

The Luce Restaurant was overwhelmed despite advance booking (10 people). We arrived on time for lunch. Drinks were "taken" quickly and competently and brought back correctly. The restaurant was full and unfortunately “reverberating”. The toilets are clean. We had to wait over an hour for the food. The pizza I ordered was "baked" too quickly and hot. The topping lay on the dough like a carpet.

The homemade gnocchi with pesto sauce is highly recommended! The lasagna was also very tasty and the two desserts we had were great! We were just lucky and got a table without any problems, but if you want to be on the safe side, it's better to reserve in advance.

Food was great! Nice ambience, pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, not too loud. Service staff was very friendly. Sometimes a little hasty when taking the order, otherwise great. Highly recommended!

The service was very slow!!! For starters we took dumplings with meat filling but it was tortellini maybe from the super market! The wine was already gone bad and even though we informed the service the just laughed We also took a desert to try, and maybe retribut themselves but it was as fail as the rest the choux was completely dry the filling was not even fresh and the chocolate frozen the cream aside flavourless For last and not least when we asked for the bill 3 times the service just ignored us and preferred to chat with each other. Very bad experience!!!!

Both the service and food were excellent. Both the light and tunnel structures are at the top of comfort! I recommend 100%. It is one of the very few restaurants that have the top of Italian cuisine!

I think the most prestigious of all in Bern. It's true that it's a tourist attraction as the kitchen is always open but honestly there is quality and the environment is one of the best. Service could improve but given the place where it is located there is no fear of losing the customer. Definitely worth trying but it's not an unforgettable place

We had dinner there yesterday, there were 16 of us and it was very nice. No long waiting times and very attentive and friendly service. The food was also very tasty and all in all I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to eating there again🥰 Thank you

I’d probably give 10 stars for their transcendent service. I craved for a spicy red sauce seafood spaghetti pasta, though it wasn’t on their menu, they made me one, I devoured that massive plate in less than 10 minutes, past the point I couldn’t eat anymore because the food taste just so good. I will be back soon.

Good Italian restaurant in the center of Bern, very good Italian dishes, good service and atmosphere. It is advisable to reserve. Like all restaurants in Switzerland, a little expensive for pizza and pasta, although it has other very good dishes. Recommendable.

I was at Ristorante Luce with my wife on Saturday evening December 22nd. Even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were seated immediately after a very short wait. The service is excellent and attentive - you can see that experienced service staff are at work there - you would wish that in other places too. The food is very delicious and the ambience is very inviting. We will definitely come back.

Hand made pasta with meat was good. Red wine from France is excellent I think I would’ve preferred egg noodle with meat sausage but that’s a preference. Service is so fast. I was was served I ate and drank decanted wine plus they packed my food in less than 20 mins. I like that. I walked in on a Thursday 920 pm the kitchen closes at 930, without reservations Ty he still served me no problem. Thank you!

Very nice food, drinks and service. Without booking on Saturday afternoon we waited for just 20 minutes on the bar. Drinks, salads and pizza were great didn’t get any pasta .

This is a must try restaurant!! We had the carpacio, shimp cocktail, and the octopus salad! We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of red! The carpacio ( one of my favourites) was the beat that I have ever had! The olive oil is imported from Sicily. Amazing!! This is a family business and has been for 50 years! The atmosphere is lively and the staff is very accommodating!

Dear Luce I would like to share my experience last time I visited your restaurant. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the spaghetti carbonara I ordered. The dish tasted more like unsalted scrambled eggs than the usual spaghetti carbonara. The remaining dishes such as antipasti mista or the pizzas and tiramisu were GREAT and the service and staff were very satisfactory. Kind regards & see you next time

We were 15 people. And everyone praised the wonderful food. It was really really good. Service also, very attentive, good advice, despite a full house. The only small disadvantage is the noise. It's quite loud. Nevertheless, we will go to Luce again for dinner.

We stayed at Gallaria Luce. The food (pizza) and ambience were great. There's really nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the service, considering the prices and the image. Our waiter was very annoyed and stressed, the main course was cleared away while someone was still eating, that's just not appropriate. There was also constant sneering at the table, even though our free-standing table was easily accessible from all sides. No one looked at where the plates/glasses etc. were placed, so in some cases you had an auxiliary plate from your colleague in front of you. If I pay 30 for a pizza, I expect the service to be acceptable. That's really a pity!

It looked like authentic Italian food and I enjoyed all the pasta and pizza, so I even had the cappuccino and was very satisfied!!! It's such a popular restaurant that it's a good idea to make a reservation!!

An authentic Italian restaurant, we loved the atmosphere and the setting and the dishes were as excellent as they were generous. The service was very friendly and fast. We will come back without hesitation.

They kick you out when the reservation is over even if you have a baby with you. Total disrespect from the restaurant, they care only about the money. Kid-friendlyness = ZERO.

Super nice reception and nice staff. Be sure to reserve. A bit hectic as there is so much going on. A bit cramped and really loud, as described in other reviews. Salad and bruschette were very tasty. Rind terrocôte was also great, tagliatelle had too much butter for my taste. Pizza Margherita good. Pannacotta fine. The price is high, maybe because it's in a city?...in the country the three of us can eat the same thing for that price. All in all, I would eat there again.

Luce in Bern is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The dishes are convincing across the board of Italian cuisine. The menu offers varied dishes. The large wine list is also impressive. Fast and friendly service. Mid price

Winter around the corner in Bern, we went to have good dinner and time at Galleria Luce. I ordered Pizza “Frutti de Mare” which was good, fine ingredients but the pizza bread was a bit thick and fluffy. Waitresses were a bit uneasy and tiresome. They checked us almost every time they passed by. We eat slowly, but they kept checking (asked couple of times, still eating?) if we were done or not. I think it is better to let the customers eat in peace for sometime. I hope it is not too much to ask for. Cheers

I had to revise my review because I was really pleasantly surprised on my last two visits. The terrace in summer is really very pleasant and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. My pizza tasted really good and the pasta I had on the second visit was amazing. The prices are quite high, but when it comes to pasta, I think a small portion is enough.
