Giardino, menu in Bern

Atmosphere is pleasant but a bit too loud. Service attentive, food very good. Recommended.

We really enjoy being guests in the Kursaal. Be it at breakfast, Giardino terrace, restaurant or at the bar for a cocktail. Very friendly staff. Thanks to the whole team. We feel very welcome here.

We had a great evening. The sushi was exquisite, the burger was great and the wines were literally intoxicating. In addition to the great service, there is something else that should be particularly highlighted: real experts were at work when designing the restaurant. Lighting and acoustics are the finest you can find in Bern. Hopefully there will be a lot of imitators in town...

I had the bouillabaisse and the Alpine Pikeperch. These were good. The Chardonnay was nice and the personnel was paying attention on every guest. The view on the garden with the lighting a really nice feature. So, all was good.

A long time ago I criticized the redesign of the bar and I stand by that. What has remained unchanged is great staff! Motivated employees are always friendly and well-positioned. I feel welcome there at any time. Keep it up and take care of this capital.

Great Atmosphere for Saint Valentine 💘

I made a reservation the night before for four adults and a baby. I informed them that we need a high chair for the baby and that my elderly mother has a walker and that we need a table with plenty of space. We were given the farthest table in the dining room. The walk to our table turned out to be a real obstacle course for my mother because the seating was so tight and some people were sitting at their tables. I later realized that it would have been easy to get to our table simply through the adjacent bar area. Service staff don't think for themselves. We then order two Pastis or otherwise known as Ricard. We get these without ice and undiluted. When I asked why we didn't receive any ice or water, I received the answer that the barmaid had provided. I inform the staff about the customs of how to serve a pastis in style. When my son, his wife and the baby joined us later, I asked for the baby chair again. After waiting 10 minutes I picked it up myself. The service staff is friendly, with the exception of the chef de service, who is at best semi-skilled and is too small for the number of seats to be served. Ordered drinks had to be reminded several times. The staff seems stressed and so a relaxed atmosphere cannot be created for the guest. My conclusion: If I have spent CHF 300, I have significantly higher expectations of the service. I will avoid this restaurant in the future, even though I used to enjoy eating there.

We had a business dinner at Giardino which is located in a hotel. Since we were a big group (20+ people), a set menu was given to choose from. Food 3/5 - Soup was super bland, did not taste like anything - homemade bread & olive oil were the highlight for me - my steak was too bloody for medium well - the "pomegranate panna cotta" tasted like yoghurt with berry jam - still, good portions Interior 5/5 Very beautifully decorated. I had the view to the outside on a small pond. Service 5/5 Attentive, friendly, spoke multiple languages and never let a glass go empty.

The food was very creative, beautifully presented and high quality. The service was courteous, prompt, extremely friendly and personable. Two people took care of us! Large selection of drinks, the bar is right next to the restaurant. I found the atmosphere a bit sober, but that's always a matter of taste. Price/performance fits.

We decided to stay for dinner at the hotel after a trip (although it is not far from the center) and of the four there are, we chose this one because of its menu. The service is excellent and the person who served us was very attentive. The food is excellent. In my case, I ordered the risotto and it was perfect, with a very surprising mix of flavors. The desserts were the perfect amount, highlighting the chocolate mousse and the tiramisu. The price is normal for the area and the quality. Without a doubt, it is worth visiting.

We didn't think the food was that good. Kale wasn't cooked enough. My colleague had to leave it as it was too chewy and it tasted very good. Food got cold quickly.

Restaurant in the same building than Swisshotel Kursaal. Good service and cozy interior. Only annoying topic is opening hours (at least during the weekends) but that's always the same in Switzerland. After 12pm only the nightclubs are open...

We were at the Giardino restaurant last Friday evening and were very satisfied overall. From the friendly welcome to the very courteous and professional service to the nice conversation with the director himself, everything was to our complete satisfaction. Everything on offer here is of the highest quality. The food was excellent and lovingly prepared. You can tell that people cook with heart here. The price-performance ratio is extremely good. We can recommend the Giardino for good reasons and are already looking forward to our next visit. LG Jürgen

Top cuisine, calm and zen atmosphere, superb

Everything was great here. They could have been a little faster with the drinks and food but overall it was good. Their drinks are amazing and also their food was amazing.

Bar stools are very uncomfortable. Why were such stools ordered? An office list or architect only looked at the design and not the seating quality!!! A pity.

The tartare was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was very accommodating. We would love to come again.

Food was avarage, it was. Not impressif at all. Basic, i cook better pasta at home. The meat was good but it said dry age and I don’t believe it was dry age, it tasted like an average entrecôte you buy in Coop. I’m very disappointed for the price we paid, its not because your next to the casino you should do high prices. If you do high prices do amazing food please and here your far from that. Waitress are forgetting some of our orders, On mocktail and bacon in the pasta, and they felt bit lost. We will not come back. The deco looks good thats a positif point

Seen an advertisement for sushi in the Kursal Bern on Insta. Ok, since our local sushi spot is on vacation, we'll give someone else a chance. Ok, reserved. When we arrived at the Giardino there was no table reserved in our name, but after a few unpleasant minutes of standing around there was still a table. We were served at our table by the extremely friendly and attentive waiter Nikolas. Top service, thank you for that, Nikolas. We each ordered sushi variations. My wife the Osaka and I the Tokyo. Mine should contain: 6 nigiri, 8 uramaki, 6 sashimi. 9 nigiri, 2 uramaki, 4 maki and 3 sashimi were served. My wife was supposed to have 4 uramaki on it, it was 2 and 2 maki. The 3 more nigiri didn't cut it, and the taste of the whole thing was rather middle-class and the wassabi was a tasteless paste without any pep. We both don't like maki very much, so we chose this menu because it had uramaki and sashimi on it. When you pay for something, you want what you order. You could eat it, but it doesn't live up to expectations. Will avoid this restaurant in the future. There are better things.

I had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon at the kursaal bar, however, despite being served by a girl with black hair, very kind and professional, who also spoke Italian, whose name I don't remember. Despite the excellent service, I was disturbed over and over again by a lady who I only later realized was the chef de service. Mrs. Juric was intrusive, often coming to the table despite the girl's excellent service. Furthermore, he inappropriately belittled and scolded his employees in front of customers even though there was a very calm air. Finally I can say that the quality of the service was excellent together with the Mediterranean food, but I wanted to point out this detail which in my opinion was unfair.

Very pleasant place for a business lunch, service was very courteous but never intrusive. The food/lunch menu (Scaloppine al Limone) was solid but there was room for improvement in terms of taste. The request for a change regarding the side dish (pasta instead of polenta) was responded to without further ado.

The renovation of the Giardino was really successful and you feel very comfortable outside on the garden terrace or in the winter garden. The employees are extremely friendly and courteous and the new menu also offers many delicious dishes. Really worth a visit. Keep it up!!!!!

Nice location but very expensive.

This is a review of the bar sitting outside on the lovely patio with a charming babbling pond. Rare for Bern, they offer an unsolicited glass of water with your wine, even if you do not eat! And a glass of mixed nuts. The service has sped up compared to earlier visits and is still friendly.

Fine, Italian-inspired food at a fair price in a modern, tasteful atmosphere.

Located inside SWISSÔTEL KURSAAL BERN with the other Asian restaurant Yu. This Italian restaurant with a VERY minimalist menu that is too banal, quality of cuisine without much interest or great flavor for ultimately VERY HIGH prices for banality without real quality or imagination. Everything seems to have missed something in the execution, always a blatant failure in each dish: 2 examples, TOO DRY ravioli or vegan dish made from TOTALLY DRY bulgur with no flavor, it lacks a little tasty juice or sauce which should have boosted this bland cereal .... Everything is poorly executed and the DESSERTS ARE CATASTROPHIC, EVERYTHING is almost ready to use like... whipped cream... ice cream... IN COMPLETE HONESTY NO INTEREST IN HIS CUISINE, only the situation saves the disappointment. there is a choice of better Italian cuisine elsewhere in Bern.

Waited 20 minutes for the order to be taken (several times, several waiters looked in that direction, not interested). Then another 15 minutes until we received the order (2 coffees!).

As a starter, the friendly, young waitress served me a mixed salad with Kursaal dressing. I enjoyed the salad near the pond and the soothing sound of the water. For the main course I ordered the sole. I was also able to enjoy a wonderful view of the Alps. For dessert I had the cheese platter. I've never thought of dipping cheese in honey.

Really very good restaurant to linger in the 4* Congress Hotel Kursaal. It is extremely suitable for a business lunch or family restaurant. I was mostly in winter, but in spring and summer it is certainly also a good option for a date night in Bern. The service and food quality was good but not excellent.

The atmosphere is wonderful, cozy and invites you to linger. Price-performance is completely right. Approx. 10 minutes walk from Bern train station. Tram stop right next door. So I can recommend it - it's worth a lunch or dinner.

Had Christmas Dinner at Giardino with family members. Reception and seating up arrival was a bit sluggish and so was the arrival of pre-dinner drinks. However appetisers arrived in a timely fashion. Ample choices for all tastes, may it be meat, vegetarian, or vegan. Service, once underway, was seamless and unobtrusive. Selection of desserts is lovely, however no gluten or lactose free options. Overall good value for money!

Chic and friendly place. Interesting and good culinary proposals. However, the service was overwhelmed and the wait was much too long. Having a company meeting on site, we had to give up the after-meal espresso. Significant potential for improvement in service.

Met for a business lunch in the garden of the Giardino and just the beautiful flowers and garden are a splendor. A pond with koi fish invites you to relax. Tables are spaced enough apart to ensure privacy. Very friendly service, including a young person who was doing a trial apprenticeship there and was addressed as “I'm trying out today”. It's great that you bring in your own skilled workers. The menu has a large selection of Italian and international dishes. Be it the starter or the main course, they were excellent. Price-performance are excellent. A stone's throw from the center. I can highly recommend it.

We came for dinner in a small group and each ordered 3 courses. Unfortunately, the portions were manageable, so hunger couldn't really be satisfied. The food tasted average, which surprised me given the prices. When one of us politely asked about the toilet inside, the person was cheekily aped a few seconds later by one of the three women working inside. The three of them probably felt unobserved and unheard too soon. I am disappointed that people talk so disrespectfully behind the guests' backs and will therefore not visit the restaurant again. There's nothing wrong with the ambience, the pond with the koi looks very inviting.

The Giardino restaurant in the Kursaal Bern is a wonderful place to linger and unwind. Excellent food, great service and a beautiful ambience with lots of greenery and a pond. We felt like we were in an oasis in the middle of the city. Many thanks to everyone for the very nice experience.

Average food, Average service, 7 stars prices 🙃

We were staying at the Swissotel Kursaal and this restaurant was inside the hotel so we thought of giving it a try after a long day in Interlaken. We initially ordered the Paccheri pasta and the ravioli. Ravioli was really good but my wife's order got mixed up and she got Penne with bacon even though we ordered the Vegetarian options. She is a vegetarian ant got sick after eating the pasta with bacon (the bacon was chopped up in small pieces and wasn't easily recognizable). Our server was kind enough to correct the order, apologize and not charge us for that order. Overall the restaurant is good, has vegetarian options and has a nice ambience.

Quiet place to relax, fine food and good Spanish white wine

Yesterday we were disappointed with the Vitello Tonnato and the service, it's a shame that there was nothing more from the service. The location is very nice and we are often out and about in Bern

A touch of excellence, a zest of authenticity, a shot of finesse, all washed down by delicious dishes means that I will come back. Thank you to the staff for contributing to the pleasant evening I just had.
