Dear Luigia Restaurant I would like to tell you about our experience last Sunday when we placed an order with you. We were very hungry and decided on the Orecchiette con Braciola. Unfortunately there were some issues with delivery that we would like to address. According to the app we used to track the delivery status, the driver was either a little late, drove the wrong way, or dropped off another delivery first. Since we are on Dufaux Street, which is just a few minutes away by scooter, we were surprised by this delay. The cold may have contributed, but it would have been helpful if the driver had informed us of the delay. When we finally received our order we were disappointed with the quality of the meat. It was gray and lumpy, suggesting it wasn't fresh. Since we don't eat this dish often, it was particularly disappointing for us. Unfortunately, eating the Orecchiette con Braciola resulted in poisoning that is currently confining me to bed.

Although the pizzas were good, the service did not meet the minimum standards of a decent restaurant in Switzerland. They were not friendly enough, inattentive and overwhelmed. The owner of the restaurant should consider whether he/she needs more staff in such a large restaurant and, if possible, find people who love gastronomy. There was a mistake in the order, that can happen, but the biggest surprise we found in one of our pizzas, a piece of wood from the oven, when we told this to the waiter he insisted that it was a little "crunchy" dough ...It was wood. Very bad experience. I don't recommend it and will never come again. Ps. The problem was reported to the staff once at the table and another time at the cash register (even though the owner downstairs said no when answering) and they didn't offer more than a coffee or a limoncello. The problem was then not deleted.

This resturant is very modern Italian, and has a good authentic atmosphere, with loud Italians. They have managed to make it incredibly fine. The service is really good, and you don't have to wait long for the food, even if it's packed. There are many delicious Italian dishes, and a really good pizza. This one can definitely be recommended. I would love to come again.

Go somewhere actually helpful, ordered for take away. Told order was not ready and to wait, was left waiting at the bar for 25 minutes. Went to ask turned out my food had been waiting, by the time I got it it was inedible and the staff couldn't help communicate in English.

Were there for the first time and definitely not the last time. No 0-8-15 Redtaurant, everything beautifully decorated down to the smallest detail. Staff very friendly and attentive. The food is simply top notch, fresh ingredients and made with a lot of love.

Dear Luigia team We wanted to surprise our loved one with a nice dinner. The first unpleasant surprise we had was when we were asked to change tables, despite having a reservation, even though the restaurant was empty at 5:30 p.m. - an absolute no go! Secondly, my aperitif was put away even though I hadn't finished drinking it yet, 2. no go! Thirdly, the staff only speaks Italian, with over 30 employees you can expect at least 2 to speak the local language. Sorry, but we are still in Switzerland, 3. no go! It's a shame, it didn't meet expectations at all and was a complete disappointment. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Food average. Quite suitable for a non-demanding audience.

When you enter the hall it feels like you are in a cafeteria, uncomfortably loud. It's a shame, the kitchen serves a loveless salad straight from the tetra pack and still rotten, no decoration! Food nothing special. Wine good and price for the glass is right. Service courteous and friendly.

Pretty nice place to go for a night out. The food is good and there is a nice atmosphere, although a bit loud. Our waiter was nice and he could speak several languages. He made some suggestions for food and drinks so that was very good. After placing the order, others were bringing the food, but they seem in a rush (which makes sense because the place was packed) but a bit more attention when leaving the plates on the table would have been nice.

Unfortunately a disaster from start to finish... We had reserved a table, which we got after waiting 10 minutes. There is no map, you have to scan a beacon with your cell phone and then you will be taken to the menu. But only with mobile data. The WiFi is password protected and there was no indication of the password. The atmosphere in the restaurant was tense, stressful, it was loud and the staff was visibly stressed. It's nice that you receive an Italian welcome, but everything was only in Italian or English. The staff didn't speak any German and unfortunately didn't speak English very well either. It was almost impossible to order syrup for the children (which fortunately is offered free on the menu in a child-friendly manner). We were offered all sorts of other drinks before we finally made it. My daughter pointed directly to the children's pizza she had selected on the menu on her phone. A large one was ordered. At least the mistake was noticed when I wanted to order Bambini calamari for my other daughter. The answer I got was that there was only one type of calamari and there were no French fries. I had to awkwardly scroll through the menu to show that the menu actually had children's calamari with fries on it. They were finally ordered. When I asked whether he had ordered a children's pizza for the other daughter, we were told that we had to say so when ordering. Pointing to the children's pizza on the menu and obviously being a child is apparently not enough. Not very typically Italian... The drinks came in batches, but relatively quickly and were good. At some point a bottle of water suddenly arrived that we hadn't ordered, but after complaining, it was taken back and not charged for. The food also came quite quickly. The calamari came with ketchup and mayo but no fries. When I complained, they apologized and promised to organize fries. The fries would be there in a minute. But they weren't. After 15 minutes of waiting, I complained again. They apologized again and 5 minutes later they actually came. Without ketchup. The ketchup that came with the calamari had already been used for the calamari. So we asked for more ketchup, which was delivered minutes later. The pizzas were ok, the calamari very good, the fries not salted. My pasta with seafood was barely edible, the strascinati were like cardboard and sat like stones in my stomach. When we wanted to pay, they apologized again and said that they hadn't charged anything for the extra ketchup for the mistake with the fries. I would say embarrassing... A children's cinema is also advertised. The children were disappointed. No cinema, just a room with a few non-functioning playground equipment. I am a regular customer at both Luigia's and Zurich's... almost every Saturday and Sunday. but today today on such a special occasion, I'm talking to you, you waiter with the mustache, you pissed me off... very, very much... you were rude to my girlfriend, she asked you for a particular pasta and you come to tell me jokes telling me that for a short pasta it takes 30 minutes of cooking, where almost every Sunday I go to Luigia to eat carbonara with short pasta and with the restaurant full I have always been served after 20 minutes of waiting... then come to the table all 'suddenly while I was talking to my family and you came to tell me to eat with the writing on Luigia's dish facing in the right way because for you the details matter, I was very patient because I had guests from far away I had a woman at the table belted and I didn't feel like arguing, she was even afraid to ask you something because she saw what kind of character you are, anyway then the girl with the light blue eyes arrived, take an example from her, you have a lot to learn... 👍🏻

Let me start by saying that I have been a regular customer of Lugia for some time now, but today I encountered service problems with one waiter in particular. I asked if it was possible to exchange a long pasta for a short pasta with a half sleeve/rigatone/calamarata, the important thing being that it was not a penne, and the waiter told me that a half sleeve would not have been possible because it had a cooking time of 25 minutes, as if it were rice, and therefore he decided to bring a pennetta at the end of the day. Then there were small shortcomings on the waiter's part that his colleagues, who were very kind and courteous, had to resolve. I would have simply preferred him to have told me that the change would not have been possible, also because he found someone in the profession who was very aware that a 25 minute cooking time for a pasta, in a restaurant that makes on average 100 pastas in an hour, is not at all conceivable. .

Awesome atmosphere, buzzing and an absolutely mouth watering selection of Italian specialties! Pizzas are heavenly! And the pistachio tiramisu a must try! Our go to Italian in the area!

The food and service were generally good. However, there is a star deduction because the service only speaks Italian and English. However, the atmosphere on Valentine's Day yesterday was absolute horror. The tables were lined up much too closely together and there was hardly any room to move around without touching other guests sitting to the side and behind them. The tables are also far too small to be able to eat properly. One had the impression that the restaurant simply had to be filled in order to generate decent sales. Next time, you may want to consider that the additional sales generated or the overcrowding of the restaurant has a significant negative impact on the ambience and experience of the guests.

Tartare was completely tasteless, pizza was good, panna cotta completely tasteless. Service couldn't speak German.

The ambience is very nice. You immediately notice that you have come to a good restaurant. Starters were tasty but selection is limited. The pizza and salads were also delicious. We experienced two problems. One is, the waiter forgot to bring our wine. Secondly, the waiter brought us a glass of wine to try, but in the end it was included in the bill and we paid for it too. Per person, including drinks, costs around 60 chf.

Had to wait a long time for the food (Sunday). -The wine only came when we had finished eating. -We received the water glasses after we had to ask 3 times (waiting time 15 minutes). -The service was friendly but stressful. -There was a lack of salt in all 3 of our dishes. The meat was fried too hard and had way too much sauce on it. -The desserts were first class. -The selection on the menu is excellent. -The ambience is very nice, I personally really like the furnishings.

ATTENTION, the food delivery order was never delivered. And LUIGIA (Opfikon) charged for the order; when contacted because the delivery with UberEats did not arrive, LUIGIA only said that LUIGIA is responsible for preparing the order but NOT for the delivery!!!

Ordered via UberEats. Incredibly delicious pizza, even the Margherita was a taste explosion. The dough was airy, simply a poem. I have rarely eaten such excellent pizza outside of Italy. The delivery was so extremely fast, we were barely able to make our own starter at home. Excellent!

We love Luigia, especially we feel very comfortable with the children. The waiters are understanding...

The pasta for the small one with tomato sauce was not edible. The sauce was terrible, not even the little one liked it. The octopus was good but the mashed potatoes underneath were tasteless and not really fresh?! The pizzas are OK but I would have expected more for the prices. The starter of mortadella with truffles wasn't bad. The service and the staff were super friendly despite the fact that they only spoke Italian. I would prefer a bill at the table as usual. In short, you can eat much better Italian food for the money.

Nice restaurant, disappointing reception We reserved a nice table online. Everything went well in the reservation process. When we arrived at the Luigia Opfikon, the reception/service with table allocation was completely overwhelmed. NOTHING was reserved. Brought to a table, right next to the entrance area and passage, which didn't suit me at all. The place setting also had to be removed so that it would fit the number of guests. So no preparation at all. Then after complaining we got another table, completely out of the way like a storage room and with a view of the wall. The first impression is usually the deciding factor and that was an absolute no go. Positive: good food, delicious pizza/spaghetti with a nice salad. Service otherwise nice. Although we really like the Italian mentality, practically only Italian or English is spoken. If you want to order in German, you'll just be looked at stupidly. Sorry, but we are still in Switzerland! That's why only a maximum of 2 stars and clearly insufficient!

We ordered from you and the pizzas arrived in very bad shape. The pizza was no longer warm, cheese was hard as a rock and difficult to chew. Generally it was not fresh and inedible. We called and you ignored us on the phone. We will never order again and hopefully no one else will either.

For the first time we had to wait about 30 minutes until we could order the drink. Food price performance does not match my opinion. CHF 18 for. About 8 small meat balls without sauce, without garnish. It was my partner's mother's birthday, but we didn't say that at the restaurant, but she still got a tiramisu with a sparkler, which was thoughtful in itself. But then putting it on the bill? Three of us had dinner in Opfikon yesterday For the first time we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to take our order (at that point there weren't too many guests left) the starter arrived quite quickly and was also very tasty. Our plates were cleared and after another 15 minutes the waitress came back and asked us if we wanted another dessert? Even though the main course hadn't even arrived until we said we were still waiting for our main course, the waitress said she had forgotten to place the order. We waited a total of 1.3 hours for our main course, wow. When I wanted to order mineral water for myself, she came with a 1 liter bottle and said there wasn't a smaller one? When I asked another waitress she said of course we have small bottles. SERVICE DISASTER Very few people could speak German either

We had 2 reservations for 7 people each on a Friday evening. We didn't get either table at the agreed time. We had no idea how long we would wait because no one informed us why there were no tables available. After about 40 minutes of waiting we finally got the table. 1 star because I can't imagine how you could miss 2 reservations (for a total of 14 people). If they told us “sorry, the reservation has been cancelled”, I understand that, it could happen to anyone. But saying nothing and making us wait for 40 minutes isn't possible... (the service gets a 4😉)

Nice restaurant with good cuisine and top service

Service and food ok, but the bartender was unspettacolo, full marks. I was impressed with how he served me the cola, so I ordered several drinks. Affumicato highly recommended really great class for cocktails very highly recommended.

If you are looking for an Italian restaurant, this is one to avoid. The cold atmosphere, 60s cinema style, noisy, cold pizza and you wait 15 minutes to finally be able to pay (you can't pay at the table), and to top it off: if you don't speak English you are lost... at least as far as I'm concerned, I would never set foot in this noisy and not at all nice place again. I prefer a real Italian restaurant with its authenticity.

Pizza was good. Service miserable. Nobody speaks German properly and some of them can't even understand that you want to pay. You can't go to a restaurant where you can't speak the local language. So bad grades. Ambiance OK, but quite loud. All in all, a place I will avoid.

We had a reservation at 8 p.m (of course the confirmation included) Waited at least 25 minutes. The service was very disorganized! Others who came after us got a table BEFORE us, which is why we left. We found it very rude and would therefore not come back.

Wheat beer 12 CHF. Sorry, that's too expensive. Service didn't want to let us sit at a free table, pointing out that there was something with breakfast there. But then nothing happened to the table. Service a bit rude. When I asked if there were nuts, I was told 'No, the kitchen is closed'. The invoice was issued incorrectly.

I had a quick dinner while staying in the Radisson hotel. I went with pizza and that was a safe choice. Pizza was good, not great by any stretch of the imagination but properly tasty etc. Price was way higher than it should be but I put this on the country not the restaurant necessarily. Staff on the other hand and general look and feel of the place is top notch. Bravo!

Unfortunately not the best local address. Food is ok, oil is not spared. Pizza nothing special. The staff makes an effort, unfortunately they don't speak German.

The restaurant is nice, the staff is friendly and the food is good. The staff speaks Italian and there was no problem understanding Spanish. Because of the options of drinks and desserts they have, I also see it as a good option for an afternoon snack and/or a drink. In a separate room they have a small cinema and two arcade machines; a very pleasant wink if you go with children.

First time dining at Luigia. Its a small chain with another branch in old town Zurich. We dined at this branch in Opfikon. Firstly the ambience is very bold and bright, you feel like you are almost in a casino walking into this place. For us it was nice change from the usual so we liked it. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Their menu was one of the most extensive menus I have browsed through for an Italian restaurant in Zurich. So many choices of pizza, pasta, appetizers and desserts!! The food was above average, I wouldn’t call it gourmet Italian food but it was nice food with good flavors and pretty huge portions of food. I tried the Pasta Carbonara which I wasn’t super impressed with (I do have a little high standards when it comes to Carbonara). But we also had another pasta and a pizza and overall the food was good. Also tried their almond milk as they were out of their pistachio milk (which I would like to try) which was pretty good as well. Overall a nice dining experience, would love to visit again and try something else on their menu!!

This is my first review written on Google. The only good thing first: the food was of sufficient quality. The service is totally unqualified and conversation is only possible in English. Even though I speak English myself, this trend in Zurich really annoys me. The shortage of skilled workers in this restaurant is probably hitting its stride. The staff is running around hectically and there is no evidence of any basic knowledge of service. The atmosphere and all the hectic goodness reminds me of a train station buffet. The room acoustics are once again miserable and do not allow conversation at the table. It's a shame that there are more and more restaurants like this. I'll definitely never come over again.

Top-notch Italian cuisine. They don't care abt French-style presentation, they care abt the ingredients and the preparation as you eat with your mouth, not with your eyes. Highly recommended to have a true Italian experience.

Food is solid. Looks good, but there are better Italian restaurants in my opinion. The price is also expensive and the restaurant is very noisy. You could (had to) look at the food using a QR code. Has pictures of the food, which I think is really good. But I think there should still be physical cards on the tables. I went to pick up food again today and have to revise my review. The cheese was missing from our carbonara and I was allowed to try the pasta with Bolognese from my colleague. What I tried, however, was an insult to the word Bolognese. Military barracks level... too much of a good thing for this price... Last time we were given a pasta with the wrong sauce. That's why I have to reduce the rating to 2 stars. Was the last time in this restaurant.

I ordered bolongnese and got it once, but it was the worst bolongnese I've ever had, it was really very mushy, as if the meat had been pureed. It was the last time I visited this place.

I really like this chain. There were places like this in Zurich. Everything looked after, pleasant, Neapolitan pizza executed quite well with excellent ingredients. The only flaw, the pizza is burnt and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I think maybe we should use the oven better.

I ordered through Uber Eats. The poor courier had to wait in the restaurant for over half an hour because the pickup was not timed correctly. Two products in the delivery were inedible; the filling of the cannelloni (milk based) was sour and crumbled and inedible. The edge of the pizza was burnt and the toppings also had a strange consistency. Because there was a long gap between the first dish finished and the last dish finished, they were no longer fresh when they arrived. Is there a possibility to get part of the money back? Not impressed. The restaurant look is nice, but the food is mediocre. Disappointed. Had Pizza Cetarella and the dough was thick. As a starter had Arancini.

Best pizza in the area. Price/performance top. I can only recommend
