Lumière in Zürich

The tables are very narrow. You shouldn't be bothered by the fact that private conversations are not possible. Unfortunately, it also happens that the staff brush their clothes while eating because the tables are so close together.

A nice and cozy restaurant with fine food. However, the two hour table rule (which you are made aware of) is far too short to go through three courses with wine. Especially for such an expensive restaurant. We wanted to go for a smoke after the main course, but were immediately intercepted with the request that we had to order dessert immediately or skip the course. The food came after a few minutes and all courses were squeezed in within those two hours. The staff always kept an eye on us so that they could make sure that we were actually gone after two hours. After paying we were immediately asked to leave the table. When we were still there after two minutes, the next request came. Due to the table rule, which is very strictly monitored, we would no longer visit the restaurant.

Unfortunately, last night was a disappointment. I had reserved a table 1 1/2 months in advance and had the choice of coming at 6:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. It was explicitly stated that only these two times work. Yesterday, shortly after arriving, we were told that we had to leave the table at 8:15 p.m. My girlfriend was able to negotiate another 15'. It was a rush and so loud because we were sitting next to a large group who were even clapping and cheering loudly. What was strange was that there were tables that were occupied at 8:15 p.m. and remained empty beforehand. Never go to Lumière again.

I went to the Lumiere Bistro Restaurant last night and had a great time. The food was good and the team provided great service. I had Steak and Frites. It was divine! I look forward to going there again.

Incredible food and great service! The Cafe de Paris Fillet was very tasty with slow-cooked meat. We also had the Off-menu seasonal mussels that were incredibly fresh from the French region of Saint-Michel. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely courtyard dining with occasional Buskers providing entertainment. The mussels are divine as was the buratta salad. We had excellent service and enjoyed the Swiss wine recommendations. PS: sour cream ice cream is a sleeper!

Very nice French restaurant amongst the hustle and bustle of the area. Managed to get a table last minute for a early dinner. Some classic French food eg French fries and Crème Brûlée as well as some food work modern twists eg the warm Polpo salad. Staff were friendly and attentive. We would definitely go back!

Pricy, but the food and especially the fish and the risotto (very well aldente cooked) were a surprise, similar to what you could get in Paris. The deserts are good and the portions generous. If you're planning a fine dining evening but don't want to go through a 7 small servings menu, go to Lumière. The terrasse was a bit uncomfortable as it is on a sloping street.

A renowned reataurant with excellent French cuisine - much to recommend is the entrecôte café de Paris with its pommes allumettes (be mindful that the cooking will be a degree more well dpne than ordered - according to my experience, a 'medium' ordered gets you something more like 'medium-well'). Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It is located on a lovely street with a few other restaurants that really came to life as the evening went on. The manager and wait staff were extremely friendly from the outset and had wonderful recommendations throughout the meal, including a particularly delicious bottle of Bordeaux. The house specialty, entrecôte, was delightful and the duck and risotto were perfection. We bookended the meal with the tuna tartare and lemon tart paired with limoncello - both were well executed, but the flavors of the lemon tart were especially perfectly balanced. If we ever find ourselves in Zurich again, this will be our first stop!

We sat there on a warm, balmy summer night, it felt like we were in Paris. It was great, great, great We ate salads as a starter, entrecote and redfish as the main course and fondant au chocolat to round it off perfectly. Nice service, not pushy at all and overall just delicious food. Being able to sit outside in the small square adds a lot to the atmosphere, so stop by here if you get the chance in the summer :)
